Great review, you are the only person that could read the runners, so cool that they are marked a Gundam Frame and not Barbatos. So looking forward to more kits based on this frame.
I just picked this kit up at my local Barnes and Noble was looking and saw they had a few it looked awesome it's my first ever gundam kit and I can't wait to start building it I'm very excited I love to build very extensive stuff so the master grade was more appealing than high grade to me but definitely gonna try at all the grades at some point in time it looks so bad ass!!!
The IBO Gundams were designed with the premise that they use a single, common frame, both in lore and on the model kits. Having the MG Gundam Frame set up means they can pump out whatever they want faster in the future, from the Gusion Rebake, to the Kimaris, to the Vidar, to the Bael, to the Flauros, etc. Also missed a couple of articulation points for the MG Barbatos here: the upper cockpit hatch actually slides forward for access, much like in the show, and the wrist has a third point of articulation that allows it to flex forward and backward (aka ulnar and radial flexion for the anatomically correct minded) that you don't see from many kits without the use of a ball joint. You even show off the latter movement in the final standing pose with the right hand, yet never mention it in the articulation review.
@@AbsoluteMongoloid A noticeable trend in Bandai's recent gunpla is that for more recent advanced grades (i.e. RG's and MG's), they tend to avoid using ball joints as much as possible, only leaving them in a couple of places like say the wrist or the neck, and even then they're finding ways to eradicate them altogether, as can be seen with the MG Barbatos. You only ever see major ball joints in High Grades nowadays.
I put this model together, and then the full mechanics lupus Rex. I started on an HG 1/144 and decided that wasn’t an option going forward. I prefer the lupus rex. I love the kit. Other than ordering yellow paint for the fingers. But 100% the 4th form MG licensed kit is superior. The frame is just better. Things also hold in place extremely well. Except for the white face panel lol. It’s pretty funny comparing the sword mace from these two kits. I’m just stoked on that tail blade works so well!!!
I planned to keep my MG Barbatos in the closet till I get my hand on the Expansion Pack, but watching this video really makes me want to build it. RIGHT NOW!!!
Mecha, just finished my first MG and it hjust appened to be Barbatos. Thank you for all your reviews and advice. Thank you. Wish I could post a pic of the finished assembly.
We're probably going to get a bunch of Gundam Frame kits before we get Graze frame kits. If they're popular enough they'll do it eventually, but we only get a few MGs a year.
@@Equalsundew Oh for sure this kit is going to be massively popular, but we're gonna get more stuff that uses that same frame. Lupus, Rex, maybe Bael and Vidar. There are a lot of Gundam frame kits. Graze might come eventually but I think they're gonna milk this frame for a while.
"What's better than a Gundam with a sword? Nothing!" Excuse Y- "Except a giant mace that is!" You are forgiven. I'm really hoping for a MG Lupus Rex, but that's because I'm weird. I'll likely still pickup this one once I'm done with other large expenditures. I do look forward to a future video going over how it ages, given that seems to be a bit of an issue these days, as shown by the old 1/100 and the HiRE

The expansion pack coming this December is going to have orga in it, so I imagine that they might include atra and kudelia in expansion kits for the other forms, I think it would be neat to have them all, but it wouldn’t be a big deal to me if we just get orga and the pilots for the individual gundams.

Hears Studio Magane's OST
Mecha is a man of Internet culture as well 😌
I gotta say, when it comes to my favorite gunpla content on youtube its a battle between your enthusiastic voice versus Gunpla Meli's pleasing visual aesthetics. And so far you're in the lead brother, keep up the good content.
man, if the frame has movement like that at the head, that makes it perfect for what i want to do for a custom gundam one day
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)a

I am totally new to gundam and I have been watching your videos a lot. I know nothing about gundam and the anime but I always found these mechs really cool. I go for mainly well articulated and cool looking stuff and due to that I bought the MG red frame astray kai which I absolutely love and it was due to your review on it. Now this is the only 2nd one that I find to be really cool and its very well articulated. You're gonna make me by my second gunpla kit and it would be this one. Keep up the great work and thank you for introducing me to this amazing hobby.
Just bought the MG barbatos a few days ago and I'm building it lol
Anyone notice the Chin was the wrong way around for some parts.
That's exactly what i was thinking :)
yeah it was kinda distracting lol
it's the right position, but tend to move if you give the up and down gigidigigidooo
I'll finally be receiving mine tomorrow . I'm planning on paint it flat black and a deep red on the inner frame. This review really helped me take a closer look and plan. Thanks
Okay. I've just purchased this incredible looking kit. It will be my first ever MG so.... Wish me luck.
2nd post here. I have spent so much time with the form 4 kit.
Keep coming back. I also..did the LED kit. I used the left over stickers (there are that many), to decal the full mechanic lupus Rex.
I left the eye decals on. The led kit doesn’t care.
As I type this. I am opening wing zero, EW Ka. And…I didn’t break the hip joints on the strike freedom 2.0. Before I built it. You Warned me.
YES I WAS WAITING FOR THIS REVIEW FOR SO LONG EVER SINCE THE KIT CAME OUT lol
SAME!
lol me too
You were accepting me to agree with you but it was I llama g!
SAME!!
I read your comment with dio's voice.. its terrifying
This video has made me buy mg barbatos thanks and your the best mechanic gaikotsu
I just got this kit as my first gunpla build and it's truly amazing. It took me about 10 hours to build start from finish and I loved evwey second of it. Already looking into my second build.
"Absolute poopy butts"
Mecha Gaikotsu 2020
words to live by
Since this kit became available I’ve bought and built it 4 times watched this review dozens of times and I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT 🤩
IV been trying to get my hands on one.
I got this guy the week before Christmas and absolutely love it! One hell of a kit for my very first master grade but it came at the perfect time for me as Barbatos is hands-down my favorite Gundam!
Finally Mace-kun has grown up. Gotta call it Mace-san now.
Inputs
1. Head should go down even more to see the foot
2. Waist always a problem, if it only could bend another 15deg to the front
3. Backpack should be build attach to the frame
4. Adding joints for a maximum higher kick
5. Wish it was bulkyer, always loved bulky gundam
The bigger crown always does the trick
I love this kit. Waiting for a well deserved lupas mg next. I think this form is way better than the lupas Rex bar none.
Picked him up today. Really great kit. Fun assembly and overall excellent final product.
where do you find it nowadays? it's on backorder on hlj, i only saw it on amazon for double price
@@arncj18 I was lucky to find at a local comic shop. Some... very few... targets have had them as well.
I can't wait for a rg barbatos
I love my 1/100 lupus rex and had literally no idea it wasent a MG, now im omega level hyped for a mg lupus rex. I cant get enough ibo gundams but lupus rex is by far my favorite gundam.
Thank you for bringing this hope to me.
Mecha Gaikotsu: mentions that he didn't have the sixth form
Also Mecha Gaikotsu: changes the story right after
Bandai already announced that the MG Flauros is in the works.
Damn Ive been waiting for this since last november.... Iam getting this for my Birthday Jan30 Iam soo excited....and I've also been waiting for this Video Mecha Gaikotsu.....there is just one problem and thats the upcoming kyrios that kit makes my devotion for the barbatos wavers....
Great review, you are the only person that could read the runners, so cool that they are marked a Gundam Frame and not Barbatos. So looking forward to more kits based on this frame.
That music is memory lane right there ... let’s go and re rise ...
Don’t worry I’m heading out now
The flower from the other side shall neither erode or fade away even if no one never noticed it
Best Kits of 2019 ready now?😁
I love how the piston at the ankle is like a tendon
2022 still no other ibo mg kits……
It's a pretty common issue with most of the reviewers regarding the MG Barbatos; no one seems to mention the lateral wrist bend.
Now that you mention it, wouldn't a ball joint in the waist be worse for Flauros' transformation? Bandai might've made a better choice in that regard.
1/100:absolutely discussing
Hi-resolution:absolutely disgraceful
MG: Hey that pretty good
I planned to keep my MG Barbatos in the closet till I get my hand on the Expansion Pack, but watching this video really makes me want to build it. RIGHT NOW!!!
*fully extends knee joint*
Me: Pleasured gasp
Mecha, just finished my first MG and it hjust appened to be Barbatos. Thank you for all your reviews and advice. Thank you. Wish I could post a pic of the finished assembly.
It drives me crazy how no reviewer, including Mecha, shows/mentions the secondary wrist bend.
Yep! And no one even seems to notice the drastic redesign of the head.
didn’t think much of it initially but as I started taking note of it I realized Barbatos Gundam is bloody badassed….no pun intended
Hopefully they make something like the gusion or a mg graze
Rebake Fullcity, please! I'll also settle for a Kimaris Trooper
We're probably going to get a bunch of Gundam Frame kits before we get Graze frame kits. If they're popular enough they'll do it eventually, but we only get a few MGs a year.
@@GotNextVideo I mean on Instagram I was looking at some custom gundam stuff and they were all mg Barbatos so well probably get something soon
Hopefully they would do justice to the Gusion rebake lines too and maybe an MG Grimgerde and Helmwege Reincar after that
"What's better than a Gundam with a sword? Nothing!"
Excuse Y-
"Except a giant mace that is!"
You are forgiven.
I just got this kit and barbatos being my favorite gundam I am very excited, and thankfully I have heard nothing but praise for this kit
“After a few years it has loosened quite a bit and is just a nightmare to touch” sounds like a man that has been married for years
this comment wins!
Just nasty...lol.
NASTY
lmao c'mon bro =))))
Well my friend
Burning hot wood
Will eventually turn into
Charcoal.
But it still has some uses after LOL.
Because of this review I’m going to stop working on my sinanju Stein ver ka which I also got because of the video you made on it and immediately start on my MG Barbatos that I got for Christmas I absolutely love all your videos I have seen every single one of them thank you for everything you do and please keep up the amazing job
Take a shot everytime mecha says absolutely or utterly
I like my health, so no thanks.
Just imagine what will happen with the Lupus and Rex, mind-goggling !
Totally the Demon King of Gundarium Tier gunpla.
I'd love to see a master grade Gusion. Just the regular, turtle-like, Gusion
Do a best gunpla of 2019!!!!
I super glued that red piece down! and There better be more MG Gundam frames, I want my lupus Rex
I feel like they'll probably include an Orga figure when they make a Lupus, and maybe an Atra or Kudelia with the Lupus Rex.
The expansion pack coming this December is going to have orga in it, so I imagine that they might include atra and kudelia in expansion kits for the other forms, I think it would be neat to have them all, but it wouldn’t be a big deal to me if we just get orga and the pilots for the individual gundams.
I asked for this for my birthday and I cannot wait to build this as my first Master Grade. Iron-Blooded Orphans is tied with 00 as my favourite Gundam series, and I either would have asked for this or the Qan[T] Full Saber, and I just had to go for Barbatos
