Oh god. Getting punch repeatedly straight in the face for every time a gunpla ranking/tier list video is released, that's brutal. That girl has the potential ending up like Kamille Bidan in the end of Zeta. A vegetable.
Talk about one of the best fights in gundam. That fist fight was a real fight. The way the first chick slumped out and stayed out. To how those punches sounded and even when suletta got rocked. This and the gouf custom fight. Lmao.
My first kit was the MG Gundam Astray Red Frame Kai and I honestly think that the MG Astray Gundams are fantastic. I’ve built a few of them now I just love them every time. The inner frame has some amazing detail without being a ver. Ka and it is also has some really nice articulation as well. They also just have such a unique design compared to other Gundam out there which helps them standout in a display. I would highly recommend any of the MG Astray to anyone, even beginners.
We’re due, yeah. They could only make antagonist kits for the next 20 releases and I’d be happy. I don’t think they could nail the proportions or have it pose without sagging, but I’d want it all the same.
it would be pretty bullshit if they went out and made another 0083 RG when neither 0080 nor 08th MS Team have RGs for now. Not to mention many other animated series without RGs.
I personally think everyone should build an entry grade. No stress, no worrying about sanding and nubs and all that, just putting together a Gunpla for fun. The nu Gundam is my favorite entry grade and it's HUGE compared to most eg/hg/rg and displays great.
I can agree with that from my experience. My first gunpla was a Mobile G Bolt. (Well, first in about two decades. Very first was an Epyon in the early 00s) I don't think they have grades back then but it was my favorite episode of the show and I got it for nostalgia's sake. Looking back I don't feel bad that I did a poor job because the build itself is very dated (seams on the lateral plane 😬) but also because I learned a lot about the craft in the process and it wasn't too expensive of a way to see if I like the hobby now. Now after a few HGs (Heavyarms and Deathscythe) I'm working on that thicc gal Aerial.
I really loved your list! Still, the HG Gundam Aerial kit has a very special place in my heart, since it got me into gundam for the first time. I was really hoping you mentioned it, but you still got pretty cool picks! Definitely gonna check and buy a couple of these
While living in Japan a few years ago I was walking thru Seiyu and picked up a HG 00 Diver on a whim for like ¥1300 and was instantly hooked on GUNPLA. many kits have followed lol and it's still one of my favorites. Always enjoyed @MechaGaikotsu videos- what an epic voice!
I just recently finished building my RG Hi-v Gundam and tbh RG v Gundam was already a monster in details, articulation and aesthetics but it still has flaws especially at the articulation side that was further improved on the Hi-v Gundam. Those issues were on v Gundam are the ff: 1. Leg pistons connected to the knees tends to pop if you're not gentle on bending the legs. 2. No rotation on the elbow. 3. Although front and side skirting armor has side rotating gimmick the space/room isn't great if you're pulling some extreme poses and it was extremely improved on the Hi-v Gundam.
Sazabi Ver. Ka. Not exactly poseable, but it's got layers upon layers of frame and armor and a ton of moving parts. In the years since building it and putting it into multiple poses, it hasn't become a floppy mess either. To me it's also easily the best-looking mobile suit in the entire franchise. Another kit I really enjoyed building was the MK-V
This, also the proportions are at least imo better than the RG Sazabi, it's more bulky and wide compared to the RG's relatively slim and perky silhouette
I don't know how everyone else feels about the RG Crossbone, but I personally think it is way too overlooked. If you've built a few kits and want to get something that's a little more of a challenge, then I think it is an essential. (and i've never seen it for more that $40)
The High Grade Gundam Breakers Battlogue Commando. Only around 20 bucks (cheaper if you buy from Hobby Lobby during their sale every other week but the base price is a little inflated). It was the most posable kit I owned until I broke the leg and broke my action base’s peg inside his ass. But that was completely my own incompetence because I had it for a whole year before I was just too rough with him while showing off how sturdy he was on a discord call. He was only the like fifth or sixth kit I ever built so there was probably a skill issue with building that led to the broken leg but by now I have built several Master Grades, High Grades, the EG V, and I have to say that I am still buying the commando again in the near future
My pick for a must have is one that probably remains an unspoken one, but the MG Astray Red Frame Kai. As far as all the kits I’ve made goes, it’s just an absolute joy. Juuust bear in mind that if you get the ecopla version that the plastic can be difficult with clean up. It grips ever so slightly more than standard gunpla plastic would, and it’s just enough that it can make clean up damn near impossible without some small splotches of paint to correct. (Though you should probably at least top coat ecopla kits anyway as their whole thing is the biodegradable runners.)
Right now, waiting on a Buyee shipment of the RG Nu FF (I have the EG as well, so dual Long Range Funnels for me! As well a display stand by DDB Corgi)and Sazabi FF which I ordered a P-Bandai action base 4 Char color for, excites me for the result. Come back to this multiple times a year to see which kits I should get lol, hasn't gone wrong for the limited few I have followed through for.
Also I'll add that the kit I'd recommend, funnily enough, was next to your Freedom 2.0 MG Astray Blue Frame Second Revise Absolutely gorgeous, inner frame is amazing, aesthetics are through the roof, has the bright orange and blue colors for a very unique mix and clash of colors for a Gundam, and a massive loadout of different gear and accessories, including a huge striker pack and a damn buster sword to top it all off.
For me it would have to any of the HG Build burning Gundams witchever on you like the most the kits are solid come with a ton of good fire efect parts ,a pile of hands and are really good at fighting poses
Everyone needs a vidar. Point blank period even if you didnt watch ibo that gundam is definition of a basic but very badass gundam. I wish it had a master grade
My RG Hi-nu is one of my most standout kits in my collection. The only thing that kind of dwarves its presence is my MG Freedom 2.0, so I gave my MG's their own shelf so they don't hog the limelight
Some of those are also on my list. 1. MG Nu Gundam ver. Ka - one of the hottest and a must-have gunpla during Dec 2012 & 2013. 2. MG Sazabi ver. Ka - Nu Gundam wouldn't be completed without Sazabi 3. MG Gundam Virtue 4. MG Justice Gundam 5. PG 00 Raiser 6. PG Unicorm Gundam 7. MG Aegis Gundam 8. HGCE Infinite Justice 9. MG Wing Zero Custom ver Ka. 10. HGCE Sword Impulse Gundam - I already owned Force and Blast, I failed to get the Sword. 11. Mega Size Unicorn Gundam / AGE-1 Gundam I know these wasn't a great list but I only buy the ones that I actually like regardless how much gimmick, sturdy or poseable the newer ones.
So my MGEX started to not work but I think I figured it out. If you keep the switch to “on” it will stop working, but I left it on “off” for a bit and not they work again. So now when I want to see the lights, I just flip the switch to “on” the press the button, but when I’m done, I flip it to “off”
So for the breaking Freedom, Justice, Providence, and Eclipse hips, there are metal hip pegs available in order to remedy this issue, i think he did mention it in his Eclipse review but i’m not sure
My first ever gundam was the RG Freedom and Oh boy was I disappointed with it and just shelved it. atleast I now have my RG Sazabi and Hi-Nu changing their pose every week
I gotta admit, most of my gundam purchases are based off these kinds of videos. I feel bad because it doesn't really make me push further in deeper, but by god these model kits are a work of art when all is said and done.
Has 12/20, literally you sir Mecha Gaikotsu is the reason Im into gunpla. Your list are my go to specially the tier list (gundarium and platinum) that is why I have 60% of your list. I cant afford those megaexpensive ones lol like neo zeong, pgu, mgex and pg unleashed. Will be buying the justice, impulse, origin and the mg nu over the holiday. Will be having my Perfect Christmas, thank you!
I don’t think I saw it on your list but I could be mistaken but I’d recommend the RG Crossbones I love the aesthetics of the look and the weapons and gimmicks it’s really small and a fun thing to build it was a challenge because it was my first small gunpla build
I'm pretty new to this Hobby. And I haven't really gotten into any of the Gundam shows or series yet. But I'm really enjoying building. Can you please tell me the name of the kit next to the hi-nu. The one right after you spoke about the pyramid in the ass thing LOL
I liked the rx78-2 beyond global over the origin version but it was also my first gunpla build but looks wise the beyond global is one of my favorite hg builds yet
I used to despise HG, And everything in it. But HG and battlogue are perfect for kitbashing and they all share the same attachment points. HG for kitbashing. MG because you like the gundam RG because they’re amazing and fun PG because you only want the best. For me? I usually only buy gunpla if the box has a handle.
No MG Barbatos? I don't have many MGs, and maybe I'm biased, but it's a solid and gorgeous kit. That being said, an RG Barbatos would be an absolute NEED for me.
The thing that I kinda don't like with modern MG's are the quality of inner frames. PS plastic kinda brittle. it's okay for the armor parts but kinda meh with frames.
I preferred the RG Wing over the Impulse. The V fins on the Impulse are stupid brittle. I broke them on both the regular release, and the P-Bandai Sword Impulse. Love me that Wing though.

Props to Mechagaikotsu 🫡, but I’d only change 2 of your choices. Nu Gundam Ver Ka is okay, but you want the engineering genius without the frustration: Double Zeta Ver Ka. PG Exia was nowhere on this list but PG Unicorn was?! Put a gun to my head and say, “You can only keep 1” it MUST be PG Exia!😉
The Chuchu punch is pretty good, but it'd be nice to mix things up a little. There's the classic Bright slap, the Kira slap, the Banagher headbutt, and the CCA Amuro and Char fistfight to name a few.
A few honorable mentions from a fellow Master Grade enthusiast: 1. MG Barbatos - No other kit has a frame as nice 2. MG RGM-93-X Jesta - For being the only original Master Grade Unicorn kit to stand the test of time 3. The GM Sniper II - A timeless classic of a fan favorite grunt suit. What more could you need? 4. MG F90 - One of the most unique P-Bandai builds
As for the RG corner, I got but one: the Wing TV. It's like if the TV version of the original Wing Gundam got the Endless Waltz version of the Zero's wings. Sturdy articulation, beautiful silhouette, a kick-ass Buster Rifle, an actual transformation that doesn't make the Bird Mode look goofy, oh, and that shield, that beautiful opening shield...most I can fault it on is the foil strips on the ammo cartridges peeling off and falling. Otherwise, one beautiful Last Impression of the Wing series, looks great by the side of the other 4 HGs
Another big honourable mention (in every sense of the word) should be the sazabi ver Ka, I've built a lot of kits (most ver ka save for the unicorn and the Thunderbolt one) and I still can't find a kit that tops this sazabi in sheer amount of detail and that costs less than a hundred, it's not even close, and the presence the kit has is really something else, even a basic walking pose looks intimidating
Please put the girl getting punched in the face in every video you do from now on sir....
Oh god. Getting punch repeatedly straight in the face for every time a gunpla ranking/tier list video is released, that's brutal.
That girl has the potential ending up like Kamille Bidan in the end of Zeta. A vegetable.

haven't seen anybody say the MG Hyaku-Shiki. cant think of a single thing wrong with that kit, just beautiful
I would also include the MG Turn-X Gundam. It’s design is definitely unique and fun to pose.
Is the girl getting punched a metaphor for what will happen to the viewer's wallet?
Indeed
Master Grade Buster Gundam. It's definitely a really great experience to build. Rock solid and looks great.
The punching transition had me laughing every time lol
Mg Barbatos was my first ever build and is still one of my favorites to this day
RX-78 kits are like Pusha T albums, always the same subject but always unique and a great experience.

I woulda put any IBO HG for the sole purpose of learn what to watch out for in terms of the biggest issues amongst gunpla kits
Also I'll add that the kit I'd recommend, funnily enough, was next to your Freedom 2.0
MG Astray Blue Frame Second Revise

MG GM Sniper II, MG Barbatos, MG ZZ Ver Ka, MG Hazel, HG Messer, HG Deepstriker

I gotta admit, most of my gundam purchases are based off these kinds of videos. I feel bad because it doesn't really make me push further in deeper, but by god these model kits are a work of art when all is said and done.

Hi can i add in MG psycho zaku Ver ka? I just really love that kit and i think if its not a must have, an honorable mention should do 🥹
Mg Barbatos, if it was released before this vid was made
How is the HiRM Gundam Astray Red Frame - MBF-P02 Lowe Guele's Use Mobile Suit not on here? Such an amazing kit!
I liked the rx78-2 beyond global over the origin version but it was also my first gunpla build but looks wise the beyond global is one of my favorite hg builds yet

Great video as always, thank you gaikotsu!
I don't own the MG Sinanju, but it looks so beautiful... I'm surprised that it didn't show up in this list
Kinda wish there was a separate list for Gundams and for non-gundam MS.
I recommend the MG Heavy Arms EW
Does anyone know what that chibi looking gundam was in the intro, looks really cool 0:14
Aerial
RG zeong is legit a JOJO stand, another reason to get it xD
7:26 i lost it 😂😂😂
if I could only keep one of my Gundams it would be Master grade sandrock
2:28 MY BROTHER OF THE EMPEROR
all there gundams really do remind me of armored core 3..
Mg Barbatos or the MGEX Unicorn are also 2 amazing models
The thing that I kinda don't like with modern MG's are the quality of inner frames. PS plastic kinda brittle. it's okay for the armor parts but kinda meh with frames.
I think your missing the mg sazabi ver ka. That should be a top 5 kit for sure imo. Plus I think the pg astray red frame Kai is a top 20 kit.
I preferred the RG Wing over the Impulse. The V fins on the Impulse are stupid brittle. I broke them on both the regular release, and the P-Bandai Sword Impulse. Love me that Wing though.
my perfect grade unicorn started falling apart. so it was a bit disappointing for me
Must builds:
MG Sazabi Ver Ka
MG Acguy
MG Turn A Gundam
I'm surprised that even though it is one of Japan's favourite Gundam, Bandai has not released a PG version of the Nu Gundam. You would think they would have done it by now. Yet we are still waiting....
I honestly was expecting the MG barbatos
BEAUTIFUL SPREAD~
Agreed with the whole list..love to see my fav freedom is at top 3 haha
Got nearly all of them, but sone are just very hard to get a hold of, especially since covid first hit.
Bruh.. no Sandrock or Deathscythe hell EW??? those are banger kits!!!
Were will you put the recent MGEX 1/100 Strike fredom ?
Virtue is one of my favourite gundams.. too bad it's gunpla Costs equivalent of two gunplas in one pack..
My dad didn't want me to own things like this. So I used to wait till he was asleep to build the gundam I bought... sadly, I had to give it away...
Is it easy to find the water slide sheets for whichever kits you’re working on?
What figure is that at 00:14 seconds when you say “Ever”
This is missing some IBO (Barbie, Vidar) and Sinanju (regular, stein) but other than that.. ok
I'm assuming the Virtue doesn't have the EM shield gimmick. I haven't seen it in any marketing material or videos...that being said, if that's true, it's a big fail. Apart from the Virtue armor kit being removable, it was the one of the most discerning features of the mobile suit from the other meisters.
lady got rocked 20 times lol
i want bandai build a MG of all gundams in gundam x and gundam g
all gundam oo and movie especialy exia.
I've got a question, does mg freedom 2.0 hand can hold astray red katana?
Why MGEX unicorn made it here but not the MGEX STRIKE FREEDOM :(
What do you guys use to clean pieces when you remove them by the "cage"? I use normal clippers and a sharp scalpel, sometimes sandpaper.
Would you have a one year later edition?
So I bought some competing Chinese model kits and now I'm angry.
They use a completely metal skeleton. Everything is as posable as Hi-Nu.
I hate to say it but this must become standard.
Exellent classement
J'ajouterai laerial hg aussi
Kosmos RGB LED
Props to Mechagaikotsu 🫡, but I’d only change 2 of your choices.
Nu Gundam Ver Ka is okay, but you want the engineering genius without the frustration: Double Zeta Ver Ka.
PG Exia was nowhere on this list but PG Unicorn was?! Put a gun to my head and say, “You can only keep 1” it MUST be PG Exia!😉
I skipped between each kit, only to realize I was missing a masterpiece of a transition
I was only listening to the audio, then I heard a *thud* followed by a gasp and I immediately rewind the vid. no regrets
had me giggled every time xD
its worse the other way around, i skipped to the beginning of each just to see the box shot, the transition got old fast.
Lol
Lol
The Chuchu punch is pretty good, but it'd be nice to mix things up a little. There's the classic Bright slap, the Kira slap, the Banagher headbutt, and the CCA Amuro and Char fistfight to name a few.
Add the Relena Slap to that kid too.... 😅
I'd throw in the SUMO Smack from Turn A.
00 had some good ones. Tieria smacking Saji, Lockon (Lyle) punching Setsuna and Ribbon backslapping Wang Liu Mei (my favorite)
Don't forget the butt slap from suletta lol
I think that Chuchu punch was meant to say "one down unto the next kit". So the slap, headbutt and fistfight wouldn't make any sense.
A few honorable mentions from a fellow Master Grade enthusiast:
1. MG Barbatos - No other kit has a frame as nice
2. MG RGM-93-X Jesta - For being the only original Master Grade Unicorn kit to stand the test of time
Really hoping they reissue the MG Jesta like what they did with the HG.
i’d also say if a person can get the pbandai mg winged tall”gooseduck” it’s a wonderful build as well that just looks dope
The MG jesta is a really good kit but -1 point for having posable hands as those things make posing with the gun impossible
