That guy grabbed at his guitar!😊? What the heck? He just kept right on going tho. Who else is here in almost 2024?
Here in the middle of 2024
The Kinks were punk before punk was punk
Other "classic" rock bands tried to fit in w the punk movement. For the Kinks no adjustment was needed.
Punk is music for cunts. The Kinks are MOD
Yes, they were.
Musical Punk.
The Kinks were not punk. They were the first hard rock group. With "You Really Got Me" and "All the Day and All of the Night."
Ray Davis is wired up hell! How many lines did he have! 🤣🤣🤣
One of the worlds greatest rock bands. What a buzz kill when fan touches guitar during solo @128 ...
Well. That’s one guitarist who hopefully learned his lesson. And yes, a bit of a buzz Kip indeed. Still rocks tho.
Timeless Song from A Timeless Band.....The Kinks Were So Good Even They Did Not Realize It.....This Is Historic Rock n Roll.....
I remember seeing this on MTV as a kid and cracked up every time I saw that idiot in the crowd mess up Dave's guitar solo!
Same here. Man, don't mess with people when they're playing!
I've seen them 7 times and Dave use to stick that guitar in the crowd and let them thrash it while he worked the neck often
goosesquash I’ve been laughing my ass off about that all day today.
goosesquash Amazing it made it into the One for the Road video! I guess they were hell bent on using this show. Or maybe they thought it was a cool moment?
@@ricv64 lucky for you man. yeah, Dave lets the crowd play
Thanks to the American Forces Radio Service station in Kagnew that they introduced me with great hits of the late sixty. At that time I had a small philips pocket radio. Inorder to listen my no. one hit loudly I sold my bicycle and bought a stereo radio with brand mark " National Panasonic. Later I bought a tape recorder and I remember to have recorded this song only in an hour cassette. I used to listen it one hour non stop. It was and still is my no. one song. God bless the Kinks though Pete Quaif passed away.
ray has the jagger thing goin"
You have 117 likes my friend, but without any comment you won't know that!
Yeah he is clearly trying to be Jagger, not impressed, the studio version is way better.
Poor imitation of "The Jagger" Mick owns this stage style just as Elvis had his thing going!
Jagger stole it from Ray Davies
Hey kids this is a rock and roll band !!
Friends this is where it all started!
The godfathers of punk
I can't say I blame Dave for shoving that guy's hand away at 1:29 How dare someone lay hands on the guitar 😠😂🎸
The Kinks make the ultimate power chord song here!
God damn they were jammin
1:28 This guy ...
God damn exactly. Just when the solo kicks in, there's just THAT guy.
No no no. God loves the Kinks. He damn them bloody Rolling Stones for all their devil shit.
@@johnantonescu5096 fuck off. God doesn't damn people for playing music, unless it's ACID/C
Arguably the first ever rock and roll recording by a British band. I remember it being played non-stop on Luxembourg and Caroline. ❤
Ray and Dave Davies. The best. Best lead singer and best rock guitarist. Dave's guitar drives this band. Long live the Davies. Long live Kinks.
WHY did they break up ?? 😞
@@otisdriftwood1697 Sibling rivalry. Love/hate
@@artprince9163 yes but they should see through that oof 😖
0:01 Dave: *plays You Really Got Me riff*
Ray: What the f@ck was that?!
you really got me,greatest hits,the kinks.best band,rock n roll of all time,love and peace.
They had a lot talent great band I remember when they first came out I was a teenager
one of the best song i've ever heard, love those riffs and solos
Without the existence of the Kinks ,... Rock is a scary thought ,..
2024! These guys are great!
The Guitarist Was Gentle When Moving The Fan's Hand(s) When Soloing, Fucked Up His Solo But They Left It In Anyway. Shows The Crowd Was Having A Good Time.
possibly the only live version of this song that actually shows Dave during the solo
大好きな歌なので聴けてよかったです!ありがとうございます
Your favorite ?? Really ?? 😳 AWESOME
I've been on this thing called U tube hearing, oh there so underrated band. This is the most underated band of All Time!
Jesus Christ the amount of cocaine my man was on. Absolutely spangled
I'm a beginner guitarist & this is the first song that I'm learning to play. . I came here for inspiration💜
Try the solo
Pretty much anyone can play this riff, but only few can play it, "right"...
@Matthew James she said inspiration not mind blown lol.
@Matthew James you're talking to a fellow guitarist and psychonaut brother. Acid and guitar is like magic. The early grateful dead weren't called the warlocks for nothing. I listened to purple haze on the radio driving home while tripping balls on acid. It was like flying a spaceship through different dimensions. I'm waiting for the weekend to come around so i can trip again. I don't do it as often these days but it's definitely my reset button and i get the good stuff here in California whenever i need it. ✌&❤ from California, brother! 🎸🍄🌠🌌⚡....and grow the bomb weed too. Mushrooms weed and acid are my trifecta!🍄⚡💨🏃😊
Two years later I hope you've kept at it! Great tune to start with btw
This guitar riff is the FIRST metal rock guitar riff in history
It’s the tritones
Really Got Me ROCKIN' ALL DAY WITH THIS SONG YEAH!!! 👍 😆🎶🎶🎵
Classic! What a performance!
Another amazing punk rock song before the punk rock scene had even been thought of.
this is true....
This is So true
The original song is from '64.
@@Route669 Dave Davies, "They didn't call it heavy metal or punk when I invented it!"
Inventors of the power chord!
Heavy rock mid 60s
Bo Gonzales I thought Townshend did?
Listen to Rumble by Link Wray.
Townshend might have an argument there, boy😎
@@samrogers4108 Townshend said all he ever wanted was to sound as good as The Kinks.
Classic ! Love this band .
A thing of pure beauty. Thank you guys !
1:28 Dude get away from my guitar!
Seen them on this tour. Feeling old but great memories 👌🏻
Saw
Super! The Kinks are one of my favourite bands!
I love them. Great band!!
MASTERPIECE!!!
Almost 60 years ago, this was my first vinyl record!
This isnt 60 year old wtf
HaHa recorded in 1980 dude

your not 75 like i,m , so do your homework!!@@tcabana2
the lyrics are like a masterpiece punk-rock haiku ain't it ?
R.I.P. John Gosling, please spread some love and heartfelt condolences to his family. He was a former keyboardist for the British rock band The Kinks.
Dynamite, dynamic, deliriously insane!!!!!!
What a showman
Brilliant this track ahead of it's time
The Kinks Rock period!
Одна из самых первых хард-рок песен в мире!!!
I'm so glad I've seen these guys about a half dozen times. Dang--LOVE em!!
What a rockin tune!
Pure Punk..❤❤❤❤😂
Ray Davies was a one-off. A true original.
And so was his brother Dave--without both of them, and that first international hit, we might never have heard of either of them or The Kinks.
DAVE LOOKS SO GORGEOUS I CAN"T HANDLE IT
Ide like to be his guitar
Yes.
@@kathleenrojas5240 Did you see Dave hit someone out of the way lol king of sass
@@ilovejbf7 yes it was one for the road concert..I think the song was you really got me..he was down playing and this guy tried to grab him he swatted him and kept playing....so sexy...still..he could have swatted me anytime
.
Same concert this was Victoria he mad contact with someone in the audience and then yelled at them and smiled..after the song he ran down and said something...did anyone know who he was flirting with
The Kinks is Awesome!
The first hard rock and punk song by some critics.
Was realy heavy, 64.
Riff recorded my jimmy page ...
First metal song man
@2v_5r you’ve no idea about Rock’n’Roll …. Neither music history, James Patrick Page known as Jimmy Page was the biggest session guitarist before Led Zeppelin days and in his sessions he’s done a lot playing , one of those includes the guitar 🎸 parts on “ You really got by the kinks “ you can google it , so was the guitars recorded on Van Morison brown eyed girl , Joe Cocker’s with a little help from my friend and hundreds maybe thousands of others that not even Jimmy Page himself remembers even “Baby please don’t go “bro there’s even legendary guitarist like Pete Towshend and Ritchie Blackmore either or another talking about being there at the recording session for the Kinks and Davie the Kinks guitarist being nowhere to be seen at the actual recordings but the one and only Jimmy Page with most probably his beloved 1950’s black beauty triple humbuckers Gibson Les Paul Custom that got stolen at L.A. Airport in the early 70’s that got replaced by the 1959 Gibson Les Paul with thin shaved neck he bought from Joe Walsh .
@2v_5r you’re own mind and beliefs are totally false ! Google it’s a FACT of history…. Dave Davies was nowhere to be seen at the actual recording but Jimmy Page himself
legendary. a must have live album ( with a couple of overdubbings)
Thanks Ray Davies!
It can't be stressed enough how mick jagger became every singer's template for a singer
Madness!!
Молодцы Кингс, все время в ногу со временем . 👍❤️👍
That's not what it's about 😑
Sus MAJESTADES, THE KINKS!!!! QUÉ JOYA DE VIDEO....😘
Super Musiker
Legends Long live The Kinks 🙂🤘
My favorite version of this
Remember Mott the Hoople doing You Really Got Me live, with the singing part played on guitar as an instrumental, fantastic too💥
Wow 👏
Wow ! That was somthing !
I love this song this is anodher beautiful recording i love it
Loved the album when it came out.
M&M magic love at the heart. God is love.
What kind of jerks would have a thumbs down to this video ? Someone jealous who never made it big ?
Dude this just really rocks out hard and heavy. They really could hold their own live. Although I prefer Van Halens version nothing can beat this live performance. All Hail the Kinks!
Wow, after that intro, all I can say is: you must really like Van Halen!
Bill Edmond, The Kinks wrote this song .not Van Halen.
Never liked Van Halen. Not one song they ever did . Garbage band .
Van Halen is all carried by Eddie's monstrous guitar work but their songs are whack and boring asf. It would be as boring as KISS if a different guitarist plays

What a rock n roll fantasy.
Lucky you! Was it as awesome as it looked? New England rocks!
Love ya Janice 2022 from virginia usa
With this riff, the Kinks invented metal
No they didn’t
they invented punk
@@capebuatid The Kinks and The Who were the punk godfathers. If you could ask it to Joe Strummer, he would ask you that Ray Davies and Pete Townsend were his idols and inspirations, when he was a kid.
Best!
Alguém em 2019,escutando essa Maravilha
2021
Blody brilliant. Thank god for recordings so we can escape the noise today they call music
Nice footage♡
the punk master💪😁
Les kinks ont fait une trouvaille
géniale.... tout le monde vibre
Comme des dingues....
ils sont bien mieux sur scène que
dans leurs disques
1966 again- they are spot on
Legend has it that this tune is the 1ST REAL HEAVY METAL song ever 😅
Bravo⚘
I saw the in NYC in 1970s and LA forum in 1980. THEY DRANK A LOT BACK THEN.
Timless Rock & Roll !

Saw these guys in concert, Detroit, Cobo Hall..77'..great show
If there was ever a band for reunion tour it’s the Kinks…
Not just tour but new albums. Non stop. RATM & S&G
oH i wish I could have seen them live! Love their music! So BAD
We're here. These guys are the godfathers of punk. Okay - maybe the Who are too!
whoaa, such energy. great rendition too from Van Halen, but theirs is a far second to this
It is good, but I prefer VH. This though is a total fuckin classic Live song by the Kinks. Hail Hail the Kinks
The kinks were hard rock before was hard rock.
He moves like Jagger
At 1:28 he slides to the crowd with his guitar, and a guy grabs the guitar. He loses his place in the song and stands up and gets back to his lead. Professional as it gets. The guy should have been removed for grabbing his guitar. LOL This band rocks the shit out of this song.
See Dave point at that guy at the very end of the video? THAT sounded like it was going to be a BLISTERING solo until that idiot rubbed his hat all over the fret board. Was hoping Dave was gonna bop him in the noggin with his guitar!!
