Lol. Whats funny is that I tell people that Im going to school to be an audio engineer, and they congratulate me. They don't know that that consist of me sitting in front of this screen, sippin' my coffee, and watching you mix shit! lol. Thanks again for taking the time to make these videos fam. Knowledge is priceless
@@JayTheYTGuy You won't get much audio engineering from tutorials here online in the box. This is just mixing in a DAW and some basic mix ideas. Audio engineering is a lot deeper than this even still, all the way into understanding electronics and the contents and logic of consoles and signal path, microphone choice, how to roll a cable in under 10 seconds, live sound stuff, basic acoustic physics etc! Audio engineering is a little less digital in real life!
I like the way you make use of different reverbs to create some awesome spatial space. Like once said when it come to vocal mixing I am polishing my skills. This episode is very much help... Thanks man.
wow...wow...dope song!!!! your videos HELPED me out a LOT!!!!!!! do you perhaps have something on mixing BOOM BAP beats ? I make sampled based beats... KEEP IT UP man!!!!!! I'm from Africa and during my lunch break at work I watch some Sean Divine videos!!!!! keep the FIRE going man!!!
This song is dope. I was getting old school 90's Xscape harmony. 🔥 Also, when you boosted those BG vox 9dB at 16kHz I almost shit myself...but it worked. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
i've been wondering, you have so many plugins, but let's say you would switch to using FL Studio for some reason, do you just lose these plugins ? ps : love the content lately, keep up the good work !
I noticed you used the SSL Channel (s) stereo. Is there a specific reason you used stereo instead of the mono? Appreciate you doing these dope tutorials bro!!!
Hi M, I'm typically using stereo aux channels to route vocals to. There are a number of advantages to using aux / busses / sends (and in stereo): ruclips.net/video/Od-KH-Nt2dg/видео.html
Hey Sean, thanks for all your videos, they're great! I also work with Logic Pro X and I was wondering how do you organize your plugins so they all placed by catergory, I mean I have it organized by default for the brand of the plugin and I just want to have it like you do, so if i click on compressors, i have all of them so I don't waste so much time. Thanks a lot.
Congratulations on the beautiful work. I'm a beginner in production and I would like to know in which sinth I find this beautiful "chimbal" that is at 13:53 of this song. Can you help me?
Hey Sean! What's going on with the Master channel here? Is that a touch of analog chorus for a bit of polish? I'm looking at your vocal chain pack but I'm running PT9
Im new to all of this.....but why did you not do any processing on the channel itself (like the main vocals) like the first EQs and compression. Everything was sent to a bus. Just trying to learn more... thanks for your awesome videos
This is the beat from "All That Matters" by Justin Bieber! haha Say what you want about those tracks but the production and vocals were always really tight
Is the only point of sending tracks to a bus to avoid running identical effects on each track which would overload cpu? Is it simply just for cpu purposes or are there other reasons as well?
Can you do a in-depth video on emo trap and trap metal vocal mixing for examples emo trap would be lil peep wicca phase etc trap metal city morgue and scarlxrd
it's going to be slightly different depending on the vocal / recording. You want to find the sweet spot by listening closely to when the sibilance is being attentuated enough but not excessively where it sounds unnatural or the vocalist gets a "lisp"
VERY busy mix in terms of vocal arrangement... seems too many things are sitting in the same frequency range. Then, the main parts (up the middle) sound like they were recorded in a cup. 😨 Needs more body/warmth, less honkiness/tubiness, imo... vocals need to ebb and flow w/o stepping on one another as much. 💯 Hymn

you're very welcome 😁
quick question: what ever happened with that contest that you had back in May?
The second prize track is crazy.
Heck, most people don't even know what audio engineering really is. They think music comes with it's ass already wiped and ready to go lls.

Literally was just practicing techniques for this. You always seem to come through to add fuel to the creative flame right when I need it lol
You're the only one doing R&B ...I don't need to mix freakin folk music..(which is easy by comparison btw) ...wow thanks

Insightful, Sean. Thank you.
Most pro RnB records stack each note 4 times each and pan left and Right Wide...
This is soooo good she knows how to fuckin layer them vocals. Inspired me as a vocalist. The whole video in general. Thank you
explained so nicely, thank you

This came at the perfect time!
:)
If you havnt you should do a video on what all you have in your studio / setup
amazing
I've seen people do very steep notches specifically at 200-220 to eliminate the boxiness in leads
i've been wondering, you have so many plugins, but let's say you would switch to using FL Studio for some reason, do you just lose these plugins ?

As long as they are in VST format, they will work the same in FL. Thanks!

i couldn’t find her song ! 😭 i really like it
dear junii thanks for liking my song you can go on sound cloud, and search my name Jazmyn Shelton. You’ll find it there👌🏾
Jazmyn Shelton of course lol ! remember we chatted about me doing some tracks for you a while back lol , but i ended up finding it ✨
Thanks for liking my comment man I also use logic and I make tutorials on logic also
💣⭐️💯
Really dope Sean. Thanks man. How can I contact you?

Nice tips! Where is a link to the singer?
Cant find her> Thanks!
Thank you! 1 Question why did you bus the everything for the back up vocal and not just put it on directly???
Mainly for efficiency and reusing plugins but also for a more cohesive sound when processing many layers

Couldn’t help but notice u are using closed backs for mixing. I have the same headphones and they are so difficult for me to use personally
it comes down to whatever you get used to! I still don't mix solely in headphones
when should we know to turn the freq down on the deeser and where should it be adjusted too?

Where did the delay came from in ur vox bro!?
Sample: Justin Bieber - All That Matters
Did she record that in her living room the room noise is loud
Any waves plugins do the same of stereo delta??
Man what song is that it sounds like zsade
Nice session bro!! 🙏🙏
What's the name of that beat?
It sounds like All That Matters by Justin Bieber
Hey Sean,
On Liquid sonics website it says this plugin requires an iLok? What is this?
hardware license dongle. I have one mainly for Pro Tools, otherwise I wouldn't have it :/
Ahh ok. So it's completely a separate purchase? Where do you buy these?
ilok.com
Can you edit a track for me?
Why am I never able to find any of these songs 🤔

only one comment well damn second lol
please activate subtitles, you have Spanish speaking audience, greetings
This song sounds oddly familiar at least the guitar work to Justin Bieber‘s all that matters even the little vocal sample in there 🤔
