Create Big Back Vocals & Harmonies From One Voice! Advanced Pro Techniques. Works with any DAW.

- Опубликовано: 27 июл 2024
- Create vocal harmonies and lush backing vocals in Logic Pro X, from just one vocal. Using these advanced mix techniques, by manipulating just one voice, you can create thick background vocal parts, rich three part vocal harmonies, and even change the melody of the lead vocal, without bringing the singer back into the recording studio.
Presented using Logic Pro X, but will work in any DAW, like Protools, FL Studio, etc.
We'll cover step by step...
1. Creating realistic sounding Doubles, Triples & Quadruples (without using a doubler or chorus)
2. Changing Melody of Lead Vocal and using the original melody for the lower harmony
3. Create 3 Part Harmony Using 2 Different Methods. Using Flex pitch on Logic Pro X, (you can also use Melodyne or Autotune) And using Izotope Nectar.
4. Create Talkbox Effect using Izotope Vocalsynth
5. Group, Process and Automate Background vocals.
6. A/B Comparison to the dry single vocal, Vs. the Full Lush Background vocals we created.

Haha!!! Thanks Bossa! 👍 -Arty
Same
Bossa Supremo Same here.
agreed
I like that you talked about techniques that we could apply to the tools that we have instead of teaching something that was tool specific. Thanks!
WOW. I’m not a novice, but you literally just tripled my workflow capability in Logic after watching just 3 of your videos. Life changing. A HUGE Thank You!
This is by far, the best "cut to the chase, detailed here's how we do what the video title says" video that I have ever seen. No 10 minute intro speech, just a brief overview & let's get to it. I have always assumed that a lot of video creators put all of the extra speech in there hoping to have more ads placed. The ads and the wasted time get old quick. Another option for some of what I saw here, for people who do not have the software shown here would be to use the Detune effect if you have detune. Detune is often seen in guitar effects. It can be placed on different vocal or guitar tracks and set differently as was saw here for each track. The altered melody and harmony effects would stll need to be done with Melodyne or something similar.
Hey you American guitarist, (my real love-I have 16 of them!) I really appreciate your comment. I'm still new to this video thing, and still learning, but a comment like this is insightful into what viewers want. And thanks for the great advice on using the Detuner. It's a great tip!!! More videos coming very soon (this week hopefully) so stayed tuned. 🎸 (get it?) -Arty
The best demonstration on how to create many harmonies off of one voice! I truly needed this!
Thanks. I didn't see much out there, so we did it. Please check out some of our other videos as well 😉
You'd have to print subtitles on the inlay card. Her diction is brutal!
I agree this should be a staple of all future tutorials, you make learning fun and clear.
I like that he wrote "This girl is not the actual singer" besides the image of the vocalist. Shows what a honest person he is :) Great Video, thanks!
Only just discovered this channel and it's saved my life!! Because of Covid I have 5 or 6 unfinished tracks that had basic vocals but no harmonies or backing vocals. This tutorial really helped me get the demos finished before I get the vocalists back in to finish for real. Thank you
Arty you’re a legend. I’ve always wanted to achieve a delay effect that sounds like a singing crowd (kinda like at concerts/clubs when an audience sings the lyrics along with the performer) and this helped me ton!! Thanks!
Just came accross this site and this feed and wow Its been truly helpful. Thanks. Keep em coming!
Yes, great techniques to take notes from and apply what was taught. Thank you for your time and energy to create this instructional video.
That doubling trick is mind-blowing. I keep seeing people saying that the only way to properly double vocals was to make 2 separate recordings. Thanks for taking the time to make this video!
Je découvre à peine la chaine et je me prends une claque qui me booste l'inspiration. Même si mon anglais est catastrophique, je peux vous dire que vos explications sont visiblement claires, et quelle technique ! Cela mérite mon abonnement.
Wowwwwww this was eye opening. I've seen videos about this before, but not even close to the same results. I can't thank you enough. You can't always have singers around when ideas pop in your head. Awesomeeeeeeee....
Very interesting techniques. When you solo the original vocal you can really hear the difference between the fake vocals. Nice video.
Wow, That's a solid tutorial. Straight to the point and a ton of content. That's how it's done.
Just discovered this channel this morning, and just when I thought I've subscribed and followed all the ones I need, you come along and prove me wrong. Big thanks Arty, your enthusiasm alone paired with the quick and concise approach makes you stand out. Subscribed. ;)
Hey Mantis, thanks so much for your sincere comment. I really appreciate it, and you give me encouragement to keep it going!!! 👍
this is the only video about fake doubles and harmonies that actually sounds real and good
Hey DJ Dulla, thanks for the comment. Hope it helps! So why don't you have any music up on your RUclips page? I'm always curious to hear what everyone's doing. -

Very, very good video...I usually work with single line vocals and am always trying to find a way to spice them up like this. What you did as far as your vision for the parts coming in out made the track go to another level. Thank you, well done.
I've been searching for a video like this! Thank you so much!💙
Klasse Video. Super erklärt. Thank you very much.

Amazing. Thank you so much.
OMG! Brilliant. I'm working with young kids' voices; this will be a big help.
Thank you my man. Creating backgrounds and variations are not the easiest thing for me to do because I primarily work with rappers and I have a limited experience with singers. But I must say this has been one of the most in depth videos I have watched on created background vocals from one track. Thanks man. I appreciate it. 👍👍
Hey Cahlaj, thanks for the comment. Working with rappers is similar, but when you have Missy Elliot coming in, you gotta have it right! You should definitely check out the video we did on working with singers in the studio. 22 quick tips. You'll be more prepared. ruclips.net/video/_SPOQYXF8aU/видео.html Thanks, Arty
Wow ! Thanks for saving my mix with this 🙏🏾
Fantastic! Thanks for sharing 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
As an African musician and recording artist living in Europe, I had this problem of not having back up vocalist, only one girl was good, so if I knew about this technique on Logic Pro X I would have used it and became a superstar. Now that I know I say a big thanks to you for your revelation.
Hey Bookmark, Yes, and no. We didn't really have this technology in the '90s. But cheesy pop will always be cheesy pop, so and sometimes we would do similar things with the Eventide harmonizers. 👍 Arty
Super neat tricks there. Thanks, man.
This is awesome! Love this channel.
That was great and honestly I couldn't even tell that you did that of one voice! Awesome job thanks for sharing!
Thanks, I really appreciate the comment :) -Arty

One of the best videos for music production I've ever seen! Excellent job with this. I already do this in a very limited way in Cubase but now you've given me some great tips.
Hey Gentoo, Wow, great comment! Gives me the encouragement to keep it up. Tell your friends. LOL. Thanks, Arty
Nice video. Before watching it I thought about how I'd approach building up the track and other than the talkbox, my ideas were similar. That was reassuring in a lot of ways. Thanks for sharing.
Hey Adam. Nice!!! Thanks for the comment. -Arty
This is gold
so how do i create extra Girlfriends since my wife left me?
Easy! You have to check out Waves new plug-in GF Expander. You put a picture of your ex wife in the sidechain, and hit the auto assistant button. If you like what it shows, you just bounce the track. It puts the pictures out of phase and the bad portions cancel out. I use it all the time! 👍 Arty
