  • I had a 1 meter length of CLS Construction pine left over from another project, and wondered what could be done with it...?
I am really pleased with this piece, the tulipwood veneer and the gluing pattern create a very interesting design.
    Thank you for watching.

L'abete in tornitura è sempre stato bistrattato, ma trattato da mani esperte anche lui fa la sua figura. Complimenti.

I said it on Insta Face and I'll say it again here, that looks really classy. The tiny slivers of colour really make it pop. Great job sir. Who would have thought stud wall timber could look so good.

I like this design. I was nervous for you about the end grain glue up. But glad to see it held together. One thought on the mortise and soft wood. Perhaps create a larger mortise then inset a hard wood round piece and then turn in another mortise? Not sure how well it would work, but if it did, could reduce the risk of it coming loose but also provide more visual interest if you used a different species of wood.

really appreciate your turnings with just simple stock pine, so much more affordable, and you do get very pleasing results. Do you struggle much with tear out? also have you ever tried using coloured stock card as a veneer? Lovely bowl and thanks for sharing, happy christmas, regards, Tony.

Thank you for watching. Pine really does take so much care to turn. Very sharp tools make all the difference. I’ve never used card in joints, I’m not that brave at 1000rpm! Take care 👍
