Gorgeous, I love the way you turned it cross grain… well done. You can truly appreciate the natural colors of the pine in that piece.
Thanks mate!
What a beautiful piece of wood! And, you've fashioned it into a lovely and elegant work. I'm glad to have come across your channel. :)
Thank you!
I believe it is the most beautiful pine I've seen! Of course it helps to have a talented wood turner working it! What a great shine too! Was the use of the large scraper laying flat on the piece a kind of burnishing technique at the end? Thank you for sharing this beauty!
Thanks Gwynn! It was indeed a way to burnish the wood, seemed to actually work! Hope you’re doing well
It's very hard to get cross grain to cooperate properly, but you made it look as easy as riding a bicycle! Very nice grain, excellent finish!😊👍👍
Thank you very much my friend!
Sure looks very nice Ian, with a very nice Finnish on it as well cheers humpy..
To ian mac good luck with this piece of wood hope it turns out very nice from paul chapman at London uk 🇬🇧

What beautiful wood. Love the patterns and colours it has. Its beautiful.
At the start I didn’t think much of it. I thought, where’s he going with the design.
But once the hollowing was nearly done it all came together.
Yeah. a beautiful piece of pine. Very nice. 8:03
Thanks!
Looks amazing!!!
Looks beautiful. Very nice shape/design! 😊
Thanks Norma!
Very nice. Were you just checking for round when you held the side of the scraper on there? And what was the finish that you used if you don’t mind me asking?
I was trying something new, using the chisel to burnish the wood. It seemed to work pretty well
Well, that was a surprise. It's beautiful, well done.
Thanks Stewart!

Great job, what type of finish did you use?
Cheers Bruce! I just did about 5 coats of sanding sealer, sanded between each coat.
Just Beautiful. This make me want to try turning some pine. We only have yellow pine in my area, I think I read where this was Red Pine is that correct? Where did you get it? Thanks again.
That really is beautiful Ian and I love the stepped side into the rim.
You showed using the scraper to burnish the side which was another trick I was shown in School and College.
Great video mate.
Take care.
Cheers, Huw
Cheers Huw! Hope you’re doing well mate! It is a useful trick
Top job 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Ben
Stunning
Thanks Richard!
nice.
Thanks 👍🏻
The video was a bit short on hollowing out the inside. How thin did you get the walls? Just interested. The color of this pine is just amazing.
Hey summer! The walls are probably half an inch, didn’t want super thin walls
That is absolutely gorgeous! Beautiful wood and great work. What a fantastic combination.
Thanks Lynda!
Black pine?
Sehr schöne Form
Thanks!
It is indeed absolutely stunning!
Thanks Abby!
That grain is stunning!
These pieces of pine are amazing, I don’t want to run out of them haha
Ian Mac stupendo. Bravo bravo bravo.
Hey Roberto! Thanks for your comment my friend. The wood was pretty dry so it should be okay with not cracking/warping very much!
@@IanMacWoodturning Grazie per avermi risposto, i tuoi lavori mi spingono a riprendere il Tornio che avevo abbandonato da qualche mese, ma adesso avanti tutta, mostraci lavori semplici da poterti emulare.
Very Nice!
Thanks Frank!
