Man Joe Buck can make one of the greatest plays ever sounds like a 1st and 10 run that lost 2 yards SMH
He's better now like the miracle in Minneapolis but he sucked back then
How about the end when they won. It's not like a 9-7 team beat a 16-0 team with two offensive GOATs in Brady and Moss.
Koby Bland technically they were 18-0 but still buck is boring
IT IS caught by tyree
I just mute Job Buck's call and listen to Marv Albert's call. Buck did make up for that botch with Eli Manning to Plaxico Burress.
3 things you can guarantee in life.
Death

Eli beating Brady in Super Bowls
Bearing
You're right, he does bear him like a child :)
Kevin Polo the Mannings were the two people that Brady always had some trouble with
And as my man Eli winds his career down, we see Brady scamper out of the AFC as Pat, Lamar, and DeShawn prove to be a young core of QBs he doesn't want to see in the playoffs till the SB. Win or lose, I hope Pat gets another shot at Brady in the postseason.
Congrats HOFer Eli Manning, and go Chiefs!
@@krcjayhawks manning is not a HOF. If he didn't get lucky not once but twice . He'd have been a bust
Who's here after Eli announced his retirement?
me
Everybody because people from before the retirement can’t time travel and comment.
Gonna be honest, I had no clue he retired until I read your comment.
I'm here because of The Simpsons
I love Troy Aikman casually explaining the sluggo route in the midsts of the most epic comeback in NFL history.
🤣 👏
that comeback with Buffalo with Frank Reich as quarterback against Warren Moon's Houston Oilers.
@@dchenkin02Kirk Cousins would like a word with u
Exactly these guys have no passion in there announcement. At least fake it or somthing. You just had a underdog team just beat a undefeated team that was supposed to make history.
@matthewspallina226 you guys don't understand. You can't compare any superbowl to this because you had a wildcard team thar made it all the way to the superbowl on the road and then wanted to fired there head coach in the beggining of the season and then was able to make it to the superbowl as a underdog against a offensive juggernaut team that is underfeated and beat the
That pass to Burress when the crowd screams gives me chills every time
Justin Pohleven “Burress. Alone.. TOUCHDOWN NEW YORK!!” Keep coming back for that one..
BRO, It gives me goosebumps every time, and I'm not even a Giants fan. Phenomenal
The crazy part about that is the people in attendance saw it unfold, the moment it left Eli's hands they knew it was going to connect. Plax knew before that play that the ball was coming, and when it did he said that he couldn't believe how easy it was and when it came right to him. It's on the Giants youtube page.
he was clutch all season. only makes sense.
When Eli makes the throw to Burress, that sequence almost seemed like 'slo-mo' from the moment the ball leaves Eli's hand and lands right in Burress's hands. I remember watching it and seeing the throw and the ball was headed for Plaxico in the endzone, I realized 'OMG the Giants are going to SCORE & maybe WIN this game & pull off the upset of the CENTURY!' I jumped out of my chair when Plaxico caught the ball. To this day this is STILL my favorite Super Bowl ever. It wasn't high-scoring, it was a defensive struggle for 3 quarters, but lord willin' the Giants & Eli Manning truly saved the best for last.........I'll always remember how I reacted when they scored that TD, you knew it had to be over then & there, only a last-second miraculous drive by Brady would've still given the Pats the 'Perfect Season' but it just wasn't meant to be. It was still nerve-racking to watch but the Giants' D made one last stop to complete the upset. Incredible!! 😀
Thank you Eli Manning for the two Super Bowls. A Giants legend.
I completely agree with you and I think he should one day be selected into the NFL Hall of Fame
Matthew Lee he definitely will
Eli has always sucked. This sb was mediocre, the pats sucked. lol
Brady is a lot better now and would kick ass 🦵

Beating Brady twice as well
In his entire NFL career Eli Manning has played good 2 times and both were the Super Bowl.
Say what you want about Manning and his overall skill as a QB throughout his career, you can't tell the story of the NFL without mentioning him and imo that makes him hall of fame worthy (coming from an Eagles fan).
Agreed man, this is the textbook study on qualitative vs. Quantitative analysis. Look at how many opponents have praised him. And regardless of defense, he went out there and guided the offense to two rings. One of em being one of the most historic playoff wins in football. His stats were rough to look at. His results were a joy.
Yeah people say he didn’t do much through out his carrier but he did What he had to when he had to
I love Payton he got me a super bowl go Broncos but he couldn't get done in lot of games but he's a way better than his bro but Eli is clutch 2 mvps and against the goat
bro he is a first ballot hall of famer and theres no one questioning that. he's on the top 10 for most yards and TDs plus has two super bowl MVPs. i dont think anyone questions his place in canton
@@lxckwavy5166 didn't do much except beat the GOAT in the Super Bowl twice. Like you said though, he didn't do too much. Ffs nobody is saying he didn't do much. Clown.

Nobody wants to talk about just how clutch and legendary Eli has been for New York. Definitely underrated 🏈 2 rings and beat Brady TWICE. Give the man his props 👀
Beat him three times (twice in the 2012 season). IIRC Manning had a 3-2 record against Brady.
Give Eagles Qb his props because Nick Foles beat Tom Brady too.The thing about it was that the starter Carson Wentz was out for the season and Foles stepped up and out dueled Brady in Super bowl 52.Props to Eli Manning and Nick Foles both have super bowl map's.

@bongobongo985
With that logic Tom Brady should have never lost a game being all other qbs are "lesser"

18-1
Greatest holding of all time
Manning ham catch was pretty close too
Perfection or luck? There’s a difference there.
I remember watching this game with my older brother. He is a HUGE Brady fan. I was rooting for Eli and the Giants. I remember when Burress scored the game winning TD. I yelled so damn loud! I even jumped around the house. Amazing football game. A Giants team that barley got in the playoffs. 3 road games. And stopped what would of been the greatest team ever. 18-1. Biggest upset in sports history. Bar none.
The Red Sox coming back from 3-0 to the Yankees in 2004 ALCS was a huge upset..The Giants played Patriots tough in Week 17 of 2007 regular season..I thought Giants could beat Patriots ⁉📘🏈🏟🏜
@@fiesta061000 no that’s just wrong the giants would just not meant to beat the patriots. To go 18-0 its basically impossible unless you have the greatest team ever
Miracle on Ice was a bigger upset--way bigger, as was Rulon Gardner over Alexsandr Karelin.
It's arguable that this is the biggest NFL upset--the game certainly had the highest stakes--but people forget that the Giants almost took down the Patriots in the regular season (score was 38-35 and at one point NY was up 12). NY just matched up perfectly against the Pats that season, as well as in SB XLVI.
I remember my family and I went to a family friends house. Everyone in the house was rooting for New England BUT me. When Tyree made that catch I yelled “BALL GAME” and started saying good game to everyone 😂
@@tomcleaveland4325 miracle on ice was only so big because it was capitalism vs. The soviets. Never would have made it as crazy if the cold war wasn't a thing.
No one gave the Giants a chance.
I believed in them after they beat my packers nfc championship n honestly glad they did ...ya id love to have seen Brady vs Favre or Brady vs Rodgers..but think Favre would have thrown a couplw crappy INTs in this game and Pats win go undefeated..think the Giants were just destined to win in 07 and 11 seasons
No one believed me when I said the giants win
Vegas did lol
@@garrybrown2627 same here that's when I started to believe it was possible. And, to be fair, they seemed to limp in. After watching what Spags did over a season for the Chiefs this year, it all makes a lot more sense.
Who said they still do
I like how in the Eli era the Giants never lost a Superbowl and that's impressive
Not as impressive as the fact that while Nathan Peterman was the starter the bills never lost a super bowl.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣@tommy
Umm they missed the playoffs a lot too bro that's not good

7:40 I'll never understand how mentally strong NFL players are. Having a 300+ lb man run full speed into you and your first thought as you hit the ground is "I gotta call a timeout" is mind boggling to me lol
It's that experience for sure.
That David Tyree catch is forever goes down as one of the greatest catches in NFL history.
That might be the greatest catch ever based on what was at stake.
@@islandmankfacts he had to really use his strength to not drop that
As a Miamian, all us Dolphins fans were rooting for the Giants so our 72 Dolphins could keep the record.
Haha 😂
I was just thinking about that same exact thing.
As someone who went to see Bob Griese play when I was just a boy, I learned to love the Miami Dolphins and am a big fan still today.
I remember Griese being the first Quarterback to wear glasses.
I am 💯% behind your statement.
Yeah you got the only undefeated season, but the Pats were still a way better team.
@@greyk610 sorry bro The fact of the matter is One of these teams won the super bowl and the other one shit the bed. Go back and watch the film, belichick and crew were so conceited that they would not leave anybody in or chip that Giants defensive line, and they rushed four and whooped that offensive lines ass. 72 dolphins still the better team, the word undefeated doesn't exist anywhere else except for there, the only way those Patriots were a better team is if the word "If" is involved
@@greyk610you got roasted 😂
@@josefmengele181 Meh, it's okay. They went to a Super Bowl basically every other year and won six. Sometimes you lose some, still would take having this season over being irrelevant.
The Brady-Belichick tandem is the GOAT QB/HC combo. Except for when they faced Manning and Coughlin in those Super Bowls. It was too awesome seeing Belichick so despondent over having the bubble of his perceived coaching genuis so savagely popped at the end of SB 42 that he ran off of the field before the last play of the game and left the Patriots players and coaches to helplessly watch as Eli killed their perfect season by taking one last knee.
David Paz I agree ... imagine what he felt the second time.... though this year I like the Chiefs
@@annunaki4281 good call! There was no chance Brady was going to the chargers. Play Mahomes possibly three times BEFORE the SB? Who's here to remember Eli after his retirement
One of the greatest games I’ve ever watched. And being a NY’er made it even sweeter.
greatest superbowl and tbh..greatest game
Being a Dolphins fan it made it even sweeter
Watching this damn near brought tears to my eyes. I love Manning’s story. The Underdog! But he never flinched or or rebutted. He just played. And it paid off BIG TIME! Never give up!
I was at the Culinary Institute of America at the time, me and my NY Giants jersey, the "only" one in that community hall and I got booed, and trash talked like you won't believe and at the end of the game. I walked out of that hall, like I insulted everybody's mama, papa, and every second cousin and took a flamethrower to the place. That night, I was Jon "Mother tucking" Snow!!! I didn't talk the talk, but I sure did walk that walk!! That was a Night to Remember!!
This GIANTS team was something else the D-line - the receivers toughness and eli staying strong
A game for the ages! We witnessed a classic!
Anyone here after Bradys 7 rings? Only man who can beat Tom Brady is Eli Manning and he’s now retired lol.
lol gtfoh ... they shouldn't went on the fourth ...Brady played worst then the chiefs did last night... and not to mention this defense letting the Giants score with 40 sec left..
Nick Foles also beat him.
Umm nick foles? Beat him in the super bowl and in a regular season game last season.
eli shouldnt have retired... he wanted to stay but they chose danny (cant throw correctly) dimes over the real GOAT
Eli 2-0 against Brady in Super Bowls
That was the biggest upset ever.
You're damn right!!!
All of the Giants’ playoff wins that year leading up to the Super Bowl were ROAD WINS!! People doubted them all postseason. But man what an upset. 19 and done to 18-1 lol
Jordan Welch although many people said it that the patriots were going to win super bowl 42 in cake walk
Yup. I remember how no one outside of us Giants fans believed in our team. No one gave us a chance.
@@manu5171 Nah man I was in texas rooting my heart out for this team and I was devastated after the packers loss. Brett Favre threw that game away but even in his post game interview he said that he doubted he would beat the Patriots which pissed me off (still love him tho!)
The Giants were basically the joke of the NFC for a couple years after they lost to the 49ners with that field goal kick which i also saw live on tv. Eli was hated on for being a "brat" and not wanting to go with the chargers. Basically everybody talked shit for one reason or another and the giants went out and did work against an undefeated dynasty. Most inspirational thing I saw as a teenager. ELI = HOF
This was the only way this eagles fan was able to root for the giants
I rooted for them as well 🤮
Same here as a skins fan
The media liked to play up a rivalry between the Manning brothers, but there wasn't really anything there. The Colts' only real rivals were the Patriots. As such, Colts fans were all cheering for Peyton's little brother that day.
Why would an Eagles fan root for the giants? moron
@@greatestnitemare6626 because everyone was tired of the patriots dynasty even by then and their cocky fans. If they went undefeated, you couldn’t argue with pats fans that that team wasn’t the greatest of all time until someone else goes undefeated (which wouldnt likely happen in a very long time if ever again). You being an eagles fan, giants winning was the lesser of the 2 evils, by a wide margin 😂. Btw I’m a giants fan and I was rooting for the patriots against you guys in the SB. Well played Nick Foles, well played.
To this day, this is still the biggest upset in NFL history.
Patriots barely beat the Giants 38-35 in week 17 at Giants Stadium; it was only a big upset to those who didn't watch the regular season game. Biggest upset in NFL history will always be Superbowl III.
This game just gets more legendary with every passing year.
Sure does
Peak NFL, ignore the bias. Sad how it’s true. Look at Chiefs vs Eagles SB. Mega matchup. Plenty of offense. Last minute finish. Not even 1/2 as exciting as this game. The product overall, literally, can no longer be as good as it once was. It’s just watered down
When Burress catches that TD, you can literally feel how surreal it is...even through the screen, due to the crowd. One of my favorite Super bowls ever. Close, and nail biting until the end.

Man times flies when youre having fun, Thanks for everything 07-08 Giants yall made New York / Tri State area so proud
I come back to this game every now and again. Been an Eagles fan my whole life. But I remember winning $250 from this game from a playoff bracket with my dad and his coworkers. I was only like 13 years old. That was the lottery for me back then. I was the only one who picked the Giants.
Everytime I watch the highlights of this game I always hold my breath when the ball is in the air on the TD to Plaxico
What a game that was... i think that was the only time all my family came together and last 5 minutes just screamed and cheered with excitement
So that's why they say defense wins championships
Manning Era- Thank you for the memories and inspiration. I have always looked up to players such as you,and the players that were built around both of you. This summer, I look forward into the NCAA football tryouts at one of my in-state schools. And with this game in mind, I will never doubt that hard work can take you as far as you can reach. I hope and pray to god that this will be the beginning of one of the best years of my life. Who knows, maybe some day i'll be someone like Brent Grimes or Danny Woodhead. Times tickin, and I do wish to no longer waste it. I want to live my life doing one of the things I love most-football. God bless.
Snapped the only perfect game that could’ve happened in the modern era of the NFL. The ‘72 dolphins had the biggest party of their lives that night.
I’m definitely NOT a New York Giants fan but I was glad they were able to pull off the upset here and prevent Patriots fans from being able to brag about a perfect season forever!
The clutchest catch in NFL HISTORY and one of the best best upsets of all time. Thank you Giants
Every time I watch this I’m reminded of how effing great this Giants team was! Yeah Pats were & remain a great team, but the Giants were better in this game. And when a team plays as great in a game, a HUGE game, good things happen! Call it luck, or breaks or whatever you want, Giants BEAT the Pats. Period.
Pats can rightfully lay claim to their dynasty (as their fans insufferably will), but Giants just beat ‘em!
The 08 Giants team was even better. They got off to a franchise record 12 - 1 start. Had it not been for Plaxico Burress, the Giants very well could have beaten the 08 Steelers that year in the Super Bowl. Considering that the 9 - 7 Arizona Cardinals gave the 08 Steelers a serious run for their money. Also considering the fact that the 08 Giants actually beat that 08 Steelers team in Pittsburgh that year as well. In fact, the 08 Giants defeated the 08 Ravens as well, the team the Steelers faced that season in the AFC Championship Game. What could've been
@@yaahlabanyamyan144 wasn't this Spags first year as DC, too? Look at how similar his first year defense with KC was. They were like a top 10 defense second half of the season, I believe
Monster Defensive Line that the Giants had that year. Brutal!!
The reason why I bet the Giants is because I knew they would generate a fierce pass rush with just 4 linemen. Brady is amazing. However, the Giants defensive line made his life miserable in the 2 Super Bowls!
I wish the Raiders had a QB in the last 15 years where a fan could ask, "Ok, apart from winning 2 super bowls in 5 years and winning MVP's in both, what did this guy really do for us as a QB?" I'm sure fans from many other teams would also like to ask that.
Been a Giants fan all my life. I remember watching this game when I was 9, but didn’t realize how magical that game-winning Giants drive was right after it happened.
But as I’m typing this, the 2022 Giants are 5-1 behind the leadership of Brian Daboll, the sheer offensive prowess of Saquon Barkley, and a defense that came up big against Aaron Rodgers and Lamar Jackson the last two weeks. Fingers crossed that we’ll see more Giants magic this playoffs…
When the drive started I was slumped on my couch. When Tyree made the catch I sat up. When Eli lobbed the ball toward Plaxico I began to stand... and when he caught it I was on the floor, screaming and pounding my hands and feet on the ground. One of the happiest moments watching a sporting event.
I’m a Brady Stan, but let’s be honest that pass and catch is the greatest play in NFL history. It was a once in a lifetime play. Eli should been sacked. Tyree should’ve have caught it. But they did and then took down the greatest team of all time.
Edelmans ATL catch comes close IMO? Malcom Butler play vs Seahawks. Both really really big plays that directly resulted in the outcome of the game. I’m not sure the Butler play can’t be the first. It’s like a walk off HR in bottom 9.
On first down, asante samuel should have intercepted it
This game was historic, not because of the contents of the game, but because of the implications it prevented.
5:40 Brandon Jacobs play was severely underrated in this game cause of the commentary... He doesnt make that down the game is over...

I lost 2 years of my life because of this game....and I don't regret it! Eli. You're good in NY's eyes forever!
What a fierce defensive battle! That was only a little over ten years ago and you can see how much the game has changed through the adjustment of the roughing the passer, illegal contact and pass interference rules. I mean, the Patriots could've made a comeback still in the last minute but that last sack with 24 seconds left in the game sealed it and it was a hard hit. I fear under today's rules this would result in a roughing penalty. Man, I miss the old 2000s and 2010s football.
Greatest crowd reaction ever for that last TD
Everything about the helmet catch play is just crazy. With only about a minute left on a 3rd and 5 Manning somehow gets away from several people who grabbed him and throws it way down field to someone who had someone on him and 3 others near him and catches it one handed on his helmet without dropping it. Absolutely insane
Still amazing after 14 years

As a 40 yr dolphins fan all I can say to Eli and tyree is thank you oh thank you oh thank you.
If you remember this season well, you remember when the Giants didn’t rest their starters and nearly took them down in week 16 or 17. Then the Super Bowl they finished the job.

They kicked Brady's ass!
That last TD was my favorite announcer call of all time so simple yet so amazing
Hotty Toddy. Eli is the man. Had Brady's number in both Super Bowls
Sometimes I watch the highlights of this game just to cheer me up.
