The crazy part about that is the people in attendance saw it unfold, the moment it left Eli's hands they knew it was going to connect. Plax knew before that play that the ball was coming, and when it did he said that he couldn't believe how easy it was and when it came right to him. It's on the Giants youtube page.

When Eli makes the throw to Burress, that sequence almost seemed like 'slo-mo' from the moment the ball leaves Eli's hand and lands right in Burress's hands. I remember watching it and seeing the throw and the ball was headed for Plaxico in the endzone, I realized 'OMG the Giants are going to SCORE & maybe WIN this game & pull off the upset of the CENTURY!' I jumped out of my chair when Plaxico caught the ball. To this day this is STILL my favorite Super Bowl ever. It wasn't high-scoring, it was a defensive struggle for 3 quarters, but lord willin' the Giants & Eli Manning truly saved the best for last.........I'll always remember how I reacted when they scored that TD, you knew it had to be over then & there, only a last-second miraculous drive by Brady would've still given the Pats the 'Perfect Season' but it just wasn't meant to be. It was still nerve-racking to watch but the Giants' D made one last stop to complete the upset. Incredible!! 😀

That was only a little over ten years ago and you can see how much the game has changed through the adjustment of the roughing the passer, illegal contact and pass interference rules. I mean, the Patriots could've made a comeback still in the last minute but that last sack with 24 seconds left in the game sealed it and it was a hard hit. I fear under today's rules this would result in a roughing penalty. Man, I miss the old 2000s and 2010s football.

Such a sweet win. I was at this big Super Bowl party expecting the Giants to get demolished, and ended up crying and hugging strangers by the end of it
