My sister use to be married to Peter and yes, multi talented. He’s also a natural, never took lessons, like a lot of musicians. That was back in the 70’s. He played with a local band, Larkspur, and we all knew he’d make it someday.
Totally understated guitar player, singer, songwriter and performer. Kim Mitchell should have been bigger than life, and such a cool guy too. A great piece of Canadiana here
Outstanding Kim❤ been following your music for many years!! You're Fantastic!! Bravo for everything you bring to us!! A lot of talent, for sure!! Love you ❤❤❤❤❤
Listen to how fucking amazing this sounds and its live. Seriously. This is killer! And yes, Kim Mitchell is so fucking underrate and under-recognized in the music industry. It actually pisses me off.
Kim's never been your everyday musician . Like Rush he's in the league of those artists who play the musician's music. He can make difficult stuff sound very catchy and entertaining.
Peter Fredette is to Kim what Michael Anthony is to VanHalen: amazing bassist, master backing vocals Lou Molino’s drum sound (tuning) is SO DAMN PERFECT
This is one of the best sounding live performances on youtube of any musician. Drums and voices crisp, levels perfect. Kudos to the recordings and production team, and to the uploader!
I love rediscovering the awesomeness of Kim Mitchell and his band. They sound incredible live and I'm hoping they'll stop in Calgary for a show because I'd be there.
This is outstanding. I am one of the few Americans that actually get the whole Kim Mitchell thing. I have every record he ever played on. My older brother took a liking to Max Webster as they toured with Rush on several tours. It just went from there. I saw Kim live 6 times, I believe. Always a great show. And lots of great talk about Fredette in the comments. Just an amazing performer as well!
Wow, where is the "Double Thumbs Up". Such an excellent clip with great sound. Have always loved this guy, his writing, his playing, his character. He's just a likeable guy all round. Why he didn't become a world hit is beyond me. Has to be near the top of most under rated for his talent. Thank you Kim for all your contributions. You have been in my music arsenal since the beginning. Haha, I just noticed that you were born a couple weeks before me.
Garrett Lechowski Lou is a monster on Rockland. Every drummers should pay attention to the drumming on that album. Talk about advanced drumming composition!
Pete Fredette was amazing, well still is. On All We Are when he sings the second chorus he is a half note higher, not like it was so easy in D#, he moves the chorus up to start in E. I always wondered why Lager and Ale isn't on this, must have been edited out as they wouldn't leave that one off the setlist.
Always remember Kim asked me to play with Max Webter Just recorded Dillinger first Album Wow ! meeting with the band and Ray Daniel. and My band and The record co. for 2 weeks going Crasy ... finnaly Stay with what I started , Dillinger ! and move to the Hunt When My Brother Bob Harrisson left Pick Paul kersey, Gerry Mosby Brian Gagnon, Paul Cockburn Who was The original member of Dillinger And on and on For few years tour with a Lot's of Great bands But still Love max ,and Kim
Wish I could go back in time with my best buddy Mike "A", who is truly the biggest fan and other Akimbo Alogo in this world. Thanks for creating this great Canadian music that will always stand the test of time, on guard for thee.
l was there, it was so good, it was very humid, you see Kim in his swim wear, he was in the bala bay dipping himself, and the moon river, enjoying the area, he always was one of the best bands there at the KEE TO BALA.
I'm skipping through because it late and I just found this. But the songs i'm hearing and the quality of his vocals and the band, I said out loud "F#(k that's amazing." I cant wait to watch this. I'm trying to find the best live concert video possible. Please let me know what's out there. They're awesome!! Saw them live once here in Dawson Creek, but also love their live album, and the others too. Just discovered a new album was released.
Thanks for posting this... I saw him on this tour in Crystal Beach and always wanted to see if someone captured this talented crew! Love it! BTW - Greg Wells the keyboard player/drummer/singer went on to be a very successful producer and songwriter... Three Drummers!!! YEAAAAHHHHH!!!!
Wonder if Kim would have ever imagined the young kid on the keyboard would produce and play on one of his records? Funny how things evolve and yet come around in circles.
I remember the first time I heard the song LOVE TIES (1984) I was working in a record store and its maybe track 5 on side one of Akimbo Anyway: that was an educational experience - his guitar work was stunning and the song wasn't like anything I was familiar with (he is a rare talent)
Peter Fredette is an amazing musician! In this gig he plays the drums, bass guitar, rhythm guitar and he sings. Incredible! The only instruments on the stage he doesn’t play is lead guitar and keyboards. Peter has everything else covered.

He has never received 1/10th of the credit he deserves. Amazing show.
maybe his image and music were too wholesome. Easier to sell a freak.
Soo true... It's actually mind blowing. Also, Peter Fredette!? Damn that guy is a weapon!
Fredette... come on man... what a musician!!!
Peter Fredette is an amazing multi- taleneted musician as well.
Peter Fredette is a freak!
Yup I didn't even realize it was him on the drums at the start before Battle Scar. Amazing musicians all of them.
Absolutely! Kim struck gold with Peter. And vice versa, of course.
My sister use to be married to Peter and yes, multi talented. He’s also a natural, never took lessons, like a lot of musicians. That was back in the 70’s. He played with a local band, Larkspur, and we all knew he’d make it someday.
I saw them in February and he is still amazing
Totally understated guitar player, singer, songwriter and performer. Kim Mitchell should have been bigger than life, and such a cool guy too. A great piece of Canadiana here
I'm an Aussie and can't believe he is so underrated. Fricking good backing vocals from Peter? overall awesome 👌

A hot sweaty, rawkin 🤘🏼 night at the Kee!
A night I will never forget.
Kim‘a the best!
Great concert! Kim is one of the many Canadian artists that never got the international attention he deserved.
He should of been a massive star.
Kim's never been your everyday musician . Like Rush he's in the league of those artists who play the musician's music. He can make difficult stuff sound very catchy and entertaining.
Very underrated in my opinion. A terrific guitarist and a great singer.
Peter Fredette is to Kim what Michael Anthony is to VanHalen: amazing bassist, master backing vocals
Lou Molino’s drum sound (tuning) is SO DAMN PERFECT
Peter Fredette's voice is incredible. Oh then he plays rhythm guitar on Go For Soda. Fuck. What a monster musician!
Rythem AND vocals
And bass and incredible drums. So talented.
This is one of the best sounding live performances on youtube of any musician. Drums and voices crisp, levels perfect. Kudos to the recordings and production team, and to the uploader!
That venue is amazing
I love rediscovering the awesomeness of Kim Mitchell and his band. They sound incredible live and I'm hoping they'll stop in Calgary for a show because I'd be there.
Wow what great amazing sound, on point just like the records👍 GLAD to be Canadian 😁 🤘
Always love All We Are. The vocals are absolutely stunning.
This is outstanding. I am one of the few Americans that actually get the whole Kim Mitchell thing. I have every record he ever played on. I see him walk his dog at least once a week on Dundas Street in Toronto. Standard poodle, believe it or not.
True Canadian Legend!!!
This is the best music I've heard in years !!!!
Peter Fredette rocks it. Kim too.
Awesome show the whole way through, truly a Canadian legend
Canadian icon.....great song writer, vocalist, guitarist, entertainer. Kim is the whole package!
Peter Fredette!
Super-talented guitarist, vocalist, composer, and writer.
Amazing sound quality ! Neve knew the guitar chops were this amazing ! No internet in the 80’s .. might as well go for a soda !
Wow, where is the "Double Thumbs Up". Such an excellent clip with great sound. Have always loved this guy, his writing, his playing, his character. He's just a likeable guy all round. Rock from Canada is the best!!
Lou Molino on drums...now playing drums with Yes Featuring Anderson, Rabin, Wakeman.
Garrett Lechowski Lou is a monster on Rockland. Every drummers should pay attention to the drumming on that album. Talk about advanced drumming composition!
Those yellow “Milestones “ … had them when he played in Cock Robin as well … Lou’s a beast!!
i saw this man in a bar called duffies in hamilton ontario in early seventies incredible
Small is always better. Kim is still with us. Happy 2021🎈

I saw him many times in the 80’s and 90’s. The audiences tolerated the sappy love songs out of respect for Kim.
WOAH PETE PLAYING DRUMS AND SINGING ON BATTLE SCAR WOW
One of my favs, never got the recognition he deserves
Great show , amazing to see them live every times

Great band! Its a shame but I am hearing it the first time:-)
No worries. Enjoy!

Man I had this on VHS back in the day but someone taped over it. Thank you for this. Forever!
I'm skipping through because it late and I just found this. But the songs i'm hearing and the quality of his vocals and the band, I said out loud "F#(k that's amazing." I cant wait to watch this. Bro. Go for soda goes so hard!
Came here via Zakk Wylde's Pride and Glory but this is way more Neil Schon than Zakk. Great music!
Cool how the last chord of Battlescar sounds like the first chord of The Camera Eye.
Wonder if Kim would have ever imagined the young kid on the keyboard would produce and play on one of his records? Funny how things evolve and yet come around in circles.

Killer at the Kee!
I have nothing on but a glow
🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
I love that he copped "best part of a man" from Van Halen's "The Full Bug."
Was just in Canada and no mention of Kim Mitchel, RUSH, Max Webster, Red Green.
We dont just walk around talking about Max webster and Gordin Lighfoot or Rush. That is what texting is for!
did not know pete played drums
This makes me want to go out in the forest and cook a shit tone of food and get drunk and party with the boys
Could have sworn they were gonna open with I Want Candy based on that drum intro
Is this the tour Alana Myles warmed up for? Saw the Rockland tour in Alberta...it was GREAT
What’s the date of this concert?
1989, a much music special...the original broadcast was longer, some songs and interview have been cut out of this version
