Tim definitely filled Halfords shoes. He did so honorably and stepped away with out a complaint. Shame on Priest and its management for not inclhim at least as a guest vocalist on their 40th anniversary tour.
My dad was obsessed with Judas Priest. When he got this album we listened to it back to front so many times. I haven’t seen or spoken to my dad in over 20 years. This album is iconic to me. CRAZY they won’t put this album on Spotify. I really like Ripper Owens’ voice, I think he did the best job at the time for what he was given.
My dad was also a huge Priest fan. He passed in 2019 and I'm blessed that I was able to introduce him to his all the time favourite band without Rob Halford (my dad had no idea for years that Judas Priest had a different vocalist). My dad introduced me to Priest years ago when I was a child and because of that my neighbors now have learned to not only love and appreciate Priest, but to make them apart of they're daily routine!!! 🤘🎸🎶
A wonderful Era of Judas Priest with Ripper Owens. Just an awesome singer and his time at JP shouldn’t be swept under the carpet but honoured. His high notes are awesome !
Agree Jugulator was their heaviest and angriest album. It's sad Priest felt this way and IMO the HOF is a joke. They should be able to play a full hour set. 3 songs that are their poppier tunes was a disappointment. I wanted some with just Binks era something off Unleashed In The East to make it easy.
A fantastic singer. Difficult for him, thought, to reach the ultra-high notes in the end of The Green Manalishi. But who could do that, anyway, if not Rob Halford in the glorious eighties ? Even Dickinson couldn't reach these notes in the same era.
I lost ALL respect for Priest after they disrespected Ripper by not even asking the dude to be at the R&R HOF induction. He deserved to be there just as much as Les Binks did. It's Halford proving he's an insecure bitch knowing Ripper is better than he is
I hope Tim reads the comments on this video, and if anybody knows him send him the link, because he should know how many Priest fans think he was absolutely incredible here, any replacement singer is always going to have a huge bias against them - the fact that everyone has to admit how great he was speaks volumes.
He’s very accessible on Twitter. I’m sure you could just send him a message or a Tweet and he’ll definitely respond. I’ve interacted with a few times. Found out the song “Bloodsuckers” was about the trial where Priest were being accused of murdering people through backmasking on “Better By You, Better Than Me” through Ripper himself!
I bought this on a whim when it came out...I was not buying into Ripper for years mostly because I refused to believe that anybody could do justice to these songs and come close to replacing Rob...so what was the point. After watching this DVD I was completely blown away! Ripper not only does justice to but makes these songs sore even higher. He was a completely awesome replacement and his years should be honored as equal to any other era of priest. Still my favorite metal DVD of all time.
I don't see why anyone would hate on that man. Gotta give credit where credit is due regardless of our personal feelings or opinions. He is a great fucking singer!!! Fucking powerful voice!!! To say he sounds close to Rob Halford when Halford was in his prime. I'd say that's one hell of a compliment not given to many
Being a huge fan of Halford, I didn't pay much attention to this guy. Watching this, though, I gotta say, hot damn this guy was good and fit perfectly with the band. They all sound so good together here. Wow.
No one could replace the original. Don’t fool yourself. But every once in a while, a guy comes around and fills in because there’s an opening. And this kid came in and killed it. And then the man returned.

His stage performance could be different maybe but nevertheless great JP time traveling. Great music for your ear plugs when sporting. He should have been at the at the Hall of Fame. If you like this area or not. Like Ripper or not, without him there was maybe nog Judas Priest anymore? Also glad Rob is doing still doing great! Priest became part of my life like for many others.
I love what you have done here, Toni. So much better with ALL the songs. Thank you very much indeed! Best - PT x

She has destroyed it, but we have the internet now 😂
Ripper at his Peak !!!
Saw them in Budapest around this time, maybe 2002. I had just gotten into Priest a bit before seeing them live and only found out after the show that he wasnt the original singer. The band was on fire and Ripper obviously slayed. The venue I saw them at was indoors with some sort of aluminum or steel walls, it was ear piercingly trebley and loud because of it, hahaha. Thanks for the memories!!
Ripper kicked ass
I wish KK would end Running Wild like he did on Unleashed. That still melts my face 48 years later after uncountable listens.
Judas Priest is the worlds best heavy metal bands in United Kingdom & the worlds.
Let’s be honest: Priest had the pleasure of being blessed with 2 outstanding vocalists.
Both are phenomenal.
"blessed"?..by who? lol
@brentad2004 the priest. Numnutted?
