All these comments criticizing Halford and/or Owens are ridiculous. Owens did an incredible job carrying the torch when Halford was gone, and Halford is forever a legend. Both are amazing vocalists even today. Quit your whining about what could have been and just embrace the awesomeness of Judas Priest. That includes the Ripper-era albums (which I would love to hear Halford sing live).
I first met Judas Priest in Owens' voice, and I always thought it was the original vocal. I started listening to Halford when in his solo career, which I really like. Then eventually, and as expected, I discovered who the original vocal of the band was. I did not stop liking any because of it, it would be bullshit and childish. Both are fucking vocal gods.
I seen Priest in 82 and 84. Needless to say...I didn't see this tour. I would still of went to see them. Only a true Priest fan would stick by them regardless of the b.s. public opinion. I been a fan since 77....and always will be.

Absolutely nothing wrong with Tim’s vocals. Incredibly powerful. Great concert footage. Please don’t shit on him because he was part of the Priest story.
I heard a lot of controversy about Tim ripper Owens but this concert in London he proved it he was a great singer in his own right and did may not have done Rob Halford justice but he definitely did Judas priest Justice
I actually had 2 tickets to see this line up in Kalamazoo, MI at the State Theater. My ride ended up having to work, and I had never been there and wasn't sure I could drive and look, so I didn't go. Now I can see I missed a heck of a show. Thanks for this anyway!

Ripper Owens is absolutely fantastic in this concert. No Halford, and who cares. Owens is excellent in the band. Owens his own. Really enjoy this video on RUclips every time I see it. Judas Priest is good, and that counts. Thanks geforceradu for this video. Amazing!
I saw an interview in which the guy asked Halford if he could do the highs in Cathedral Spires... Halford smiled and said... not as good as Ripper... even Halford can give Tim credit...
Yes, and in the other direction, you can't help but notice that 'Painkiller' is in a lower register than what Rob sings it. Both have their strengths and their weaknesses to each other. Ripper's main obstacle was replacing Rob. On his own, he is one of the best metal singers out there. It just got overshadowed with the stigma of being Halford's replacement.
@@guibox3 As a counterpoint to your counterpoint, JP tuned down the guitars during this period. Ripper sang in a lower register to match the guitars. IMO the original "Painkiller" was too high anyway. Rob sounded like a heavy metal chipmunk.

Gran vocalista ripper el reemplazo justo. Lo supo suplantar perfectamente tremendas vocales. Llega adonde quiere y matiza su voz a su gusto. Los 2 discos que hicieron con el no son malos no son tradicionales pero estan a la altura.
Met this guy and worked a show with Priest...Ripper has a great voice and was a real nice guy....Met him and Priest late 90's in Pittsburgh, Pa. One of the best bands of all time....Top 5 faves of mine....Kiss...Priest...Saxon....Motley Crue...Accept...
I'll say this. I've seen both Halford and Ripper fronting Priest, and I've also seen Ronnie James Dio. The thing about Ripper is he NEVER dries out. I saw Ripper in his own club in Akron, OH (man, what a show...place only holds like 200 people) doing a Dio tribute thing with an all-star line-up (think it was Craig Goldy on guitar, Rudy Sarzo on bass and Simon Wright on drums), and he was flawless. I've NEVER heard a singer live that could sustain like he does. Halford will always be the Metal God, but I've never heard anyone do what Ripper does...
Owens crushes Priests set at this concert. He's got awesome range and the band sounds heavier than ever! Priest's music in my opinion got "HEAVIER" with Tim behind the mike. Demolition and Jugulator are right up there with Metallica and other thrash bands
I want priest to do a tour with both Halford and Ripper that way we can hear both of them sing. I would love to hear priest play with Ripper and Halford live
Para mi Ripper Owens los llevo a un nivel de los dioses y es una lastima que este allbum no este en las plataformas digitales porque se están perdiendo de un grandioso concierto

Damn, Ripper´s good. How come he´s never gotten the recognition he clearly deserves? He´s been playing second fiddle to established artists, that´s probably one reason. I have the impression that he´s an okay guy too.
Hell is Home has never left my mind since the day it came out. Absolutely astonishing song and incredibly talented singing by Tim Owens. I could only imagine how it was for Tim to not only be able to sing with his idols, but to record a whole two albums and numerous live recordings. What a legend he became upon achieving his goal.
Loved the band on these albums and tours w/ Owens! He never lost that look like he was amazed to be there, which made it that much cooler since he sounded great live and on the records!
I won tickets to this gig from the JP website and got a backstage pass to meet the band, me and my girlfriend (now wife!!) are on the dvd extras meeeting the band, great days!

true priest fans know this concert is killer, rob or not.the cats in the band proved to all that the band still could blast you away.both ripper albums are good and love priest at all stages.
While Ripper was certainly no Halford, I do have to give him credit for being exactly what the band needed to stay afloat. Without a fill in, the band might not have survived the sans-Rob years.
Ripper is absolutely fantastic singer, maybe even technically superior, on the other hand, Rob is the irreplaceable metal god, he is the Judas Priest showman.
My friend, Owens at that time, was great as it was rarely seen, look at the context, take the position of one of the greatest (to me Halford is the greatest next to Dio) and still have a performance that makes you listen and listen and listen again successively because it is so good. This is without a doubt one of the greatest live performances in the history of heavy metal.
Who else is excited for Kk's Preist, Ripper and Kk together again!

That was a damn impressive Painkiller from Ripper. Huge respect for the guy.
I've seen him live doing twice, it is just as you hear, amazing. And Halford, even way older, still nails it too. They are both insane.
I sincerely didn't remember that the Ripper was so good. His voice on Painkiller is absolutely fantastic!! What a live!!

Ripper Owens does a perfect job!! I love it.
I agree with those who say no one can replace Rob, but this dude did a damn good job!
I'm pretty sure Ripper is not human. This is my favorite Judas Priest concert performance.
I am fascinated with the unbelievably great loud sound of Ians Bass during playin Metalgods........super super
That's bad to the bone metal right there my friends
Damn, Ripper´s good.
How come he´s never gotten the recognition he clearly deserves? He´s been playing second fiddle to established artists, that´s probably one reason. I have the impression that he´s an okay guy too.
i think being in priest is high recognition. iced earth is a great band too.
As a huge JP fan, I love Ripper and he did an amazing job in this era
I noticed he sounded particularly good in Victim of Changes
Master piece this show! Got to admit, Ripper sounds great!
It's all about the music,no matter who the musicians and vocals are, The Ripper has the pipes to pull it off. ...

Scott Travis is a beast on the drums.
true priest fans know this concert is killer, rob or not.the cats in the band proved to all that the band still could blast you away.both ripper albums are good and love priest at all stages.
was at this show good time's
The greatest metal singer is the metal god himself, Rob Halford. However, Ripper did a fantastic job with Priest in the year's Rob was gone.
Halford is Priest, but of all the bands to get a ‘replacement’ singer Ripper was among the best.
@@elscott66 definitely and Arnel with Journey giving the band more years🎸
heavy metal forever
While Ripper was certainly no Halford, I do have to give him credit for being exactly what the band needed to stay afloat. Without a fill in, the band might not have survived the sans-Rob years.
Great observation, NJ.
Unforntunately, Halford is no Halford either. Not anymore.
COOL THE NOISE¡
RIPPER IS GREAT
