My wife, Karen, died ten years ago and today would have been her 67th birthday. Playing this brings back the memories. Karen adored Pink Floyd and one of the best things I ever did as a surprise was buy two tickets for one of the Earl's Court, Division Bell concerts. Couldn't get a ticket without it being part of a coach from Wolverhampton package, I paid over the odds for two tickets and placed them in an envelope, cellotaping this to the patio window. From the lounge I said that something was in the garden and could she see what it was. Her delighted scream will stay with me forever, as will the concert. For you Karen - Shine on your crazy diamond. I love you still.
Beautiful.
Amazing story...thanks for sharing ✨️🙏✨️
I saw the same concert in New Orleans, Louisiana Superdome in 1994. Till this day that was and is my favorite and best concert ever. Sorry for your loss.

It would have been absurd for us in the 70's to listen to 50 year old music, but that is what is happening today!

PINK FLOYD FOR LIFE !
Been a Pink Floyd fan since childhood, way back in the 80s listening to them on cassette tapes! It was late '88 or early '89, my family and I were living in Forney, TX, a little country town at the time, and we had this video rental mart we'd go to on Fridays. While Dad and I were looking for something new to rent for the weekend, the store started playing this concert and, at eight years old, I immediately recognized the opening of Shine On You Crazy Diamond and was like, "That's Pink Floyd!"
@@olsenlibra623 what a cool story! DSOTM is the first record music I remember resonating with me. I was about 4 or 5 so mid 70's and I've been riding that wave ever since. I don't mind that I've never heard them play live, in the flesh... Still flows under my skin and deeper. 🌼
David Gilmour is a musical anomaly, no other guitarist can make the guitar sing the way he does, it's magical and no wonder Pink Floyd has been my favorite Rock group since 1981 when the Wall came out, my buddies and I all became huge followers, I'm now 57 and will be 58 in a few weeks and their music still moves me 😎 thank God I not only have amazing kids and grandkids now but I still feel young listening to Pink Floyd ❤
Don't forget the great Gary Moore! Also great!

The difference between PINK FLOYD and other rock bands is that they associate their work with Space... And this means that their creative message is going up.. Spreading all over the Earth, regardless of what territory people live in, and what nationality they are.

One of the best and most memorable concerts I have ever been to. Nobody compares to Pink Floyd. Sad that Richard Wright is no longer with us. He really put his heart into that keyboard. Glad I grew up in the Pink Floyd generation. I can close my eyes and go back in time listening to this amazing band.
Yep, that tour was a great one. Saw them in LA in April that year. My first PF...we are both as any who saw them so fortunate!
This isn‘t just music, this is art. The melodies , the composition of instruments, the inclusion of sounds…this is art!
This is food for the soul
sorry, but that`s nonsense.
music i s art per se.
every music is art.
even the music i do not like is art:-)

I agree! I have been repeatedly playing this for the last several weeks... it is a Masterpiece for the legacy of Pink Floyd!
Exactly!
Music is one of the most universal art forms in society. Almost everyone relate to it. To isolate a certain instance of it as 'art' does not make sense. But like all expressions of art some are of a higher standard than others. This is also dependent on the observer though. Art is a very subjective subject. BUT I understand what you are trying to express Arne. For you this is the ultimate expression of the music art form. And I tend to agree. Though there are many more - it depends on your evaluation criteria. Peace to the entire world - we should listen to music more and hate each other less. Here's to a world of headbanger politicians.....

There just aren’t adequate words to describe how truly epic this concert was, and still is. What a breathtaking band live.
It was a brilliant concert, even from the upper reaches of the back of the stadium it sounded and looked amazing. Videos can’t do it justice, but it does help rekindle some of the feelings I had at the time. Hard to believe it was over 35 years ago!
It's great, but I'd love to see this kind of footage from their golden era. 80's Floyd was a little bit average (but still good at times).
It's OFF the HOOK........................that's for sure!
@@neilbrock6417 I saw it too from the upper reaches and I think it actually gave a better experience to be able to see the whole stage plus the audience heaving. Just a monumental sonic & visual spectacle.
This work helped me understand the breakup of Pink Floyd. Gilmore did this. Waters did in your face opinionated politics. Rather have this, Awesome, yes, 'truely epic'.
30 years ago I rented an “entertainment center”with vhs and integrated speakers. Got a vhs copy and called some friends. 10 minutes in blasting away and there was a knock on the door. My neighbor standing on my stoop with a 12 pack asking if he could join the party. Ended up entertaining most of my neighbors that night, not 1 complaint. Dubbed a cassette and wore it out. Best Music I’ve ever enjoyed to this day.

I saw Pink Floyd live for the 1st time in Montreal (1971) and 4 more times after. For me THIS is the best music of all time!
For some reason, the opening bars of this track always make me nostalgic. I remember hearing it in 1975 on their 'Wish you were here' album. I'd just got married and we'd moved to another part of the country. I was 26 at the time, and have had so many good (and bad) times since then, but this track rekindles memories of years before that, my teenage years, great friends, girlfriends, good times, innocent, simple and so much fun. Trouble is the older you get the more memories you have, and for me this is the switch that brings them flooding back. So good to remember those times, but my God it tugs at the heart strings! In this world today, with so much unhappiness and evil around, I wish I could return to those days. Pink Foyd will always reign supreme!!

it does get better than this... I converted this concert into 3D and it looks simply amazing... It took a long time to do the work but in the end, it is worth the investment.. ;)
Saw them in May 1994..I was never the same after that..
Non è UMANO!!!! Sembra una passeggiata per LUI, mentre la mia mente lo segue, lo segue e nn riesce mai a smettere di ascoltarlo. PINK FLOYD nell'anima.❤
Thank you Pink Floyd for getting me through some of the most difficult times of my life and being with me to celebrate some of the most happiest times of my life......
Magnificent! This took me way back... Way back...! I am 67 years old and this STILL gives me full-body gooseflesh, again and again!
Thank you, HDPinkFloyd!
Right on Brother!
I'm 65, 🎶 🎵 🎶 🎵
I'm 72 and a Vietnam Vet and it was music like this that helped me to chill. I really got into Pink Floyd...still do. Found this while working graveyard shift, 4th July weekend. Having good time all alone out here in Arizona desert doing private security at a steel plant. Good concert😅😎🤟
I am 64. And this took me too...
Ageless.
Eternal.
True music transports our souls . . . Home .
56 trips around the sun and I don't regret one second of one minute I've spent listening to Pink Floyd.
The comments here say it all - an original, class act, there has been & will be no other like Pink Floyd. The professionalism of the musicians, the light show, the music - a phenomenon. The way David Gilmour interacts with the audience, the genuine smiles & joy that he is living on that stage melts me. I saw them way back & it was awesome to watch this & remember. Thank you for sharing.
I'm 62 yrs old and still walking with Pink Floyd
The spirit of an age is something to which unfortunately we can't go back. This music remains as meaningful as ever. Maybe more considering the current quality of mainstream music today. Long live Floyd!
Ok, but I resist in my 59 years.
VIVA, long live FLOYD!

I was 16yo when I attended the first Sydney, AU show in '88. I'm 52 now, and over the years I've sometimes tried to remember the song list, but when you can't even remember half the gigs you attended, that's a hard ask. Much to my surprise, looking at the list here triggered a sharp and welcome memory; of the last song, Run Like Hell, which must have left a solid impression and was maybe chosen by the band as the closer for that reason. A life long love, thanks to this Band.
I was 14 and remember the flying pig at circular key…it’s the first time I became aware of the Floyd

You just reminded me of the Pig on Sydney Harbour. Thanks@@randyledirt1493
The only band I know which tells a story without words ,and fills in the gaps with song. The best of all time. So much going on , awakens the spirit. Miss them days.
at 76 years of age this still is the best ever. All you folks in music today take notes. no auto tune just damn good music. I don't think we'll ever hear this sort of music again.
Tragic, but I fear that you are correct, Jim. There is not even a glimpse of anything that comes remotely close to Floyd, Genesis, Yes, Camel, Dire Straits, The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac etc on the horizon😪
Cheers. I love Pink Floyd always since I was 13! My brother Paul turned me on and it was over. My lifetime favorite. I’ve turned so many others on through the years. 50 plus years! GBY Pink Floyd!♥️
Вообще Пинк флоид я приравниваю к классической музыки..это музыка моей юности!!!! Золотая была пора!!!! Одним словом молодость!!!!

Saw them 3times with my husband and once with my daughter here in Cleveland Ohio.Good stuff!!
104.00 through 107.38........I just fell in love 3x..... over and over and over.....if you look closely, all the other musicians just continue in awe,watching/listening with total respect to these ladies. Absolutely one of my favorites of all time. RIP to those that have passed but left so much ❤
April 2024 and getting goosebumbs listening to Pink Floyd. Their music reaches the deepest parts of my soul. I love music. But I think they are the best. Most beautiful, trippy music ever. ❤
Pink Floyd at their best. Relaxed, communicative and even smiling. Their music is a timeless classic.
Whooo
Indeed!

I can't ever wrap my head around how they went about creating this music. The sounds they can create with instruments is just mind boggling. There is no band that has ever come close to creating an experience like Pink Floyd. It's so insanely good.
There is one other band ( radio head ) I think there both great..
in prog rock RUSH is Canadas Pink Floyd and just as unreal as Floyd such great music from this area
@@TheNaznine I'll need to check them out. Which album do you recommend?
Edit: I had a listen and I did recognise a couple of their songs. They are a good band but the music still doesn't touch Pink Floyd. Every Pink Floyd album is an absolute masterpiece and the music is so complex. Add a couple of tabs to the mix and it really blows your mind. You can feel and see their music and you are always left perplexed, wondering how the hell they did it..
@@whatwouldyoudo7183 Floyd is indeed a great band. But look how many it takes to make their music. Rush. *They've always done it all by themselves.
*With the exception of one song in which they brought in to do some background vocals.
How? They had a unique combination of talent & background factors - R.K. "Syd" Barrett's experience with psychedelic drugs and experimental musical instruments that gave early Floyd albums their spacey feel, Nick Mason's skills and insanely high technical proficiency with drums, Roger Waters' strong philosophical and political beliefs that balanced the other members and gave Floyd lyrics their depth and emotionality, Rick Wright's flexible-style piano playing and backup vocals, and of course Dave Gilmour's stunning guitar work & lyrical contributions. Every member of Floyd was a strong musician in his own right, as opposed to many bands where the leader's talent is miles ahead and the other guys are just "supporting cast", and together they created something that was much greater than the sum of its parts. Add to that the creative freedom and lack of censorship back then, plenty of friends in the music industry who got them studio time and other bonuses, and a creative period that was influenced by major global events (WWII and others), and spanned multiple cultural and political revolutions - and you have a "winning recipe".
I am 64 years old and for 52 (atom heart motor) years I have been listening to Pink Floyd and my body vibrates like a violin string due to the chills generated by listening to their music Atom Heart Mother and The Dark side of the moon is the best.
Need to keep reminding our selves that it hasn't always been as it is today and this always dose the trick for me loud and proud. Rachel💋

In 1989 ,we were in the U.S. Army listening to PINK FLOYD BEHIND The lockers, Momentary Lapse of Reason. Ì will never forget those moments of joy. Thanks for the memories fellers!!!!
I saw them in Minneapolis many, many moons ago. I thought it was one of the best concerts I had ever witnessed. I felt like I was at Woodstock even though I was too young to be there (I was only 11 years old and my parents would not dream of it at the time). I still love Pink Floyd at 67 years old. One of the greatest bands in history.
I'm listening to Pink Floyd since I was 12 in 1976. Pure magic, pure perfection.
as long as i can remember Pink Floyd has always been in my soul! and ill never will let it go
Me too. Saw pink floyd twice. The 1994 tour was the best concert I have ever seen hands down.
Me as well. 12 in 1976, been a fan ever since. Managed to see them five times through the years. I remember every show like it was last night.
Same!☺️✌️
I think that was the Animals tour? I saw them on their Animals tour. We were in high school. One of my friends went to hang with girls he knew. He never returned so we assumed he scored only to find out that he struck out and he couldn't us. He had to call his mom to pick him up. Such fun memories.
My wife and I took our 8 yr old son to this exact concert at the Sydney Entertainment Centre !988, watching his 8yr old reactions to this music of my youth brought me huge amounts of joy ... I'm 65 now n he's 42 n both still massive Floyd fans !!

I Too saw this concert, thanks to my Mother. She left work to go stand in line during the winter in Minnesota ,she said w/ all the stoners, got great tickets' What can I say , but thankyou mom. Memories will never forget
The first time I heard Pink Floyd was in 1975 with the album "Wish you were here" I was 11 years old, I immediately fell madly in love with their music because it "spoke" to me, it “enchanted” me, I saw them in concert in Versailles (France) in 1988, what a wonderful and unforgettable memory...
Today we are in 2024 and nothing has changed like the first time in 1975, their music transports me and pleases me as much...
I like a lot of other kinds of music, groups but I think that they will forever remain the number ones for me

👍👍👍👏👏👏
I went to this at earls court twice, i still have the tickets.
Would you like to buy them ?
True but the concert that really blew me away was the Earls Court concert in 1973 when they first presented Dark Side of the Moon! I had no idea what to expect and neither did the rest of the audience. Even if the effects were more primitive then it was something never seen before. I was 21 then and sitting in the 7th row from the stage.

Always thought that was too close to see the stage setting. I liked sitting back where you could enjoy the view

66. I've forgotten how many times I've been on the pf trip. Each listening, is unique unlike other talented acts, floyd always reaches deeper, touches me places none other do. Total mind trip bringing thoughts and experiences from my recesses. I learn more with each trip. Pf will go down as the best ever, because they are.

I agree. His work in “On the Turning Away” would be a staggering achievement if recorded in a studio, but this live performance blew me away.
А ещё. Мне же не послышалось, когда Дэвид подошёл к микрофону и сказал: "Good night! Удачи!"?😊
42 года слушаю, с 16 лет и просто офигеваю от этой музыки, спасибо Pink Floyd!!!
