- The first video in our new behind the wheel segment is a 2011 3.8 JK manual transmission with our Stage 3 turbo system installed. This bad boy rides on 42" Pitbull's, Teraflex 60's, and King Coils.
Check it out and let us know what you think below! Авто/Мото
I wish they still made the stage 3 kits for the 3.8L.
How much power is it making?
How much power can the stock commecting rods handle in the 3.8L?
What size lift is on that Jeep? I noticed you said 42s on the tires
We are not sure. The customer brought it in as equipped. We just did the tuning in house.
I currently have a 09 auto that I'm selling to either get the 3.6 or a 3.8 manual (sick of auto trans) what exhaust set up is on the jeep headers and catback? The only reason I want to stick with the 3.8 is because you can switch to long tube headers and get those pops and crackles where I've heard you cant with the 3.6. I've had a different forced induction kit on my jeep for years but with the new one I am definently intrested in trying prodigy just need to pick an engine 1st .
Hey Nick, if you're planning on going with our turbo system, we actually recommend sticking with the factory exhaust manifolds. They seem to work the best. Just a heads up, 3.8 automatics are limited to stage 2 systems due to transmission power limits. 3.6 you can do either auto or manual. If you're looking to crack 350 WHP, you'd be looking at a stage 3 3.8 or stage 2 3.6. The exhaust on this Jeep I believe was a custom Magnaflow.
Thanks for the quick reply. The next jeep I get will definitely be a manual. Does any of your customers with the 3.6 get similar exhaust bangs and pops like the 3.8 in this video? It's an unpopular opinion but I actually like the sound of the 3.8. But from what I understand the 3.6 can produce more power with the your kit.
this would be the closest: ruclips.net/video/p6RQs0CGJv0/видео.html
@@ncblood2 if you straight pipe it it sounds pretty amazing
How much power can the stock rods hold in the 3.8l?
How many miles are on the motor and how has it lasted since this video?
At the time it had around 76k. This kit has been on this Jeep for quite a few years and was in for maintenance.
@@ProdigyPerformance Nice! I'm too chicken to go forced induction on my 3.8, I feel like I would turn my rods into confetti lol
@@shitboxactual the rods are actually the strong point of this motor believe it or not
What exaust is on this rig
Sounds like muf delete
Why does this kit require a manual transmission?
Yes
@@ProdigyPerformance ?
@@akjku5197 yes
Thats the 3.6 dash?
It’s probably a 2011… first year with the new dash, last year with the 3.8
what boost do you run? Im looking into doing mine but dont want to over boost it.
This particular vehicle is running 12 psi with our stage 3 kit. The stage 2 kit runs at 7 psi. Manual transmission is required for stage 3 systems.
@@ProdigyPerformance is there any way around that?
@@texas-_-rage1844 You would need a built automatic similar to the one from ATS diesel
Prodigy Performance so stage 2 on automatics would require no building of the motor any but stage 3 would?
@@jakegoldstein8468 The weak point is actually the transmission, however the Stage 3 systems ship with ARP head studs, new Gaskets, new Fuel Pump, and a new Thermostat. Internals are not required for either Stage 2 or 3.
Some commentary would be nice, along with no janky camera shots...
You get what you get and you don't throw a fit. Lolol
