I'm so depressed that I need to share a little bit with you about my situation. I live in Brazil. I dropped engineering for personal reasons. I always liked painting and I decided to face the project. I met the Idaho Painter channel and immediately became a fan of his work and dedication. I even bought a titan 440 impact in August last year. I have not been able to find a job since. I've tried every day looking for one. Brazil has been a very hostile place for entrepreneurs lately, it has practically become a communist country. Even so, when I feel very depressed, I always watch Chris's videos and somehow regain my willpower not to give up and to move on day after day. great vids, I'm about to paint a whole house after a ton of prep work to include new plastering in several rooms. Love the tips now to put them in action...
Awesome video, you guys obviously know what your talking about. I agree it definitely more cost effective to spray high ceilings then rolling them and you better have huge traps and good shoulder muscle and neck muscles to roll out the whole house ceilings. Spraying trim nice if you have a lot of it. Chris don't feel bad on using Proclassic not sure which one you used but the latex tends to run or sag if you put too much on heavy body and not fast enough dry time to prevent that. I like to use the latex Proclassic enamel, urethane thin too but not much body. I actually prefer using Duration for trim and doors comes out beautifully doesn't have a hard finish but the finish and look is beautiful. Keep the videos coming good to see real professional painting.
I'm curious how many man hours went into masking everything off and how many man hours go into spraying in total. I don't paint professionally but I've been using a roller and brush and I find that I can just jump into painting almost right away with minimum masking. I do own a sprayer and I know I need practice and tips since my biggest gripe is the hilarious amount of overspray with a 515 tip.
I've been painting for the past 15 years, with that said I would recommend wood putty on the interior and keep Bondo on the exterior. Now as for Liquid Masking, I would diffidently use Liquid mask if you were having to do multiple muntin's/sashes or door windows in excess only because it saves taping time. I deal with million dollar homes in Florida soo it calls for many panes to be protected, but liquid Mask come's to the rescue everytime! I've been watching you're videos and getting tips from them but I think you could get tips from me as well.
Two questions: 1. Double extension on gun for ceilings, how do you control spits? Are you using a Graco Clean Shot prior to tip? 2. Camera? The clarity is awesome, what's your setup? HD? GREAT JOB! Congrats.

Always great tips. Hopefully you're done with pro-classic now though! If I spray ceimings I usually have someone to back roll. Using that deglosser makes me wonder if the trim has oil paint on it. Are you going from oil base paint to water borne paint on the trim?
Allen, it's not necessarily an oil based paint on the trims, I use deglosser on glossy latex paint all the time, especially if the customer has allergies and want to keep dust in the air to a minimum.
6:15 is it necessary to follow up kk deglosser with a basic water wipe down? Sometimes I forget to do this; do you think I’ll be okay? :) thank you guys!

Latex bonds to latex pretty good. Or do you just used it on high gloss surfaces regardless of oil base or latex? Seems faster than priming and sanding. Good job buddy, the only tip from me to you would be to not have your guys do the final wipe down on trim until after you spray. I know your using HEA tip,but still there will be dust in the air that will get on your trim.

When you spray the glue on the plastic, does it melt it?

probably a full day for one person
What about the door in the hallway? I take it you are doing just the FRONT? Can you spray it while it's hanging? At the end of the video you can see it behind you, do you just spray it and the hinges just way it IS? I'm curious for when get a situation like that thanks for everything Guys!
Good job buddy, the only tip from me to you would be to not have your guys do the final wipe down on trim until after you spray. I know your using HEA tip,but still there will be dust in the air that will get on your trim.
Yes, thanks for sharing!
Chris is there any way you can get journeyman Jackson 🤣🤣to show us how he does his caulking with gloves on that would be fun to watch....
Do you reuse the masking materials?
No
What is your goto trim paint? We tried pro classic. Never again. Sherwin Williams emerald works really well but can get pricey
We prefer Solo
Pro extreme Cleaning
Depending on the project but for Interiors I like to use Duration, and Solo can be used both for interior and exterior.
I have a airless pump machine that goes to max 3,000 psi with a FFLP208 tip do u think i can paint a car with it ?
I believe so, but I have never done it myself
You should try it and report it or make a video. Buy a junk yard hood and fender to practice on. Good luck experimenting
what would you charge for that? I'm so curious. I know it's not cheap at all. All of us wouldove to know.i would charge around 10k
10k? For that house? The job in itself including prep and man hours. Frick look at all the sundries! 10k wouldn’t be worth it. He’s spraying woodwork doors/trim And you’d have to be pretty dense to share how you do you’re pricing.
Where you guys getting your frog tape , it’s pretty expensive. I am in Cali getting frog from Walmart

Such a cool boss,he is so knowledgeable
What kind of bondo do you guys use?
Hello, Ian from Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, how long does your prep usually take before spraying?
Ian Marchbank tooooooooo long
It depends on the job size
Home Improvement TV that’s a house not a warehouse
Home Improvement TV your fans are painters and we mean business
Another good video......I like to use " liquid mask " a great product that I've used for years and is a big time saver vs taping your French doors....
I've heard of people using Vaseline and similar things too. I have no idea how well any of that works though.
hi what degloss you use brand name pleas ?

Special Thanks - Chris Berry, The Idaho Painter
brilliant video chris
Chris do you pop off all the plates or cut around them?
What’s the name of the liquid spray for plastic
It's just a spray adhesive. They are available at all your big box DIY stores and hardware and arts and craft stores. They are using 3M's #77 in this video though. It can be a little messy as it spits out rather than spraying in a nice even spray. Very handy for lots of things though.
Great tip with the spray glue!
Can you show how you sprayed the really high ceiling?
ruclips.net/video/tDgyfpLwz9M/видео.html
Good idea, we'll have to show that!
Your right you can't brush and roll ceiling and trim faster than spraying. No matter what's said. If your meeting your numbers $, its all good.
very impressive. I have been working on a bedroom, yes just a bedroom, for days. lol
