I agree with your comments and I would also add the following to the cons - no 360 degree view and no rear brake stop when object is detected. I also would like to have the seats sit higher but that is more of a personal choice
Yep, those are also cons. Rear cross traffic braking is quite useful to have.
I know how useful auto rear braking would be, but I work for a rental company and some Jeeps have this and it panic stops when backing into a parking spot. It's pretty annoying when it works with no real problem.
You don't know how to hit your own brake when you see something in the rear?
Just bought this car was wondering why there was no spare lol. I do love my purchase though and have been eyeing the accord models after 2018. Thank you mann
Nice! Thank you! Have a good evening!!
Bought my new base trim 2019 hybrid model a year ago for just under $21k (basically inventory price). 30k miles and never taken it to the shop for anything other than oil changes and a tire rotation. Range varies depending on the weather, driving conditions and your driving style. In the summer, peak range is ~610 miles, and in the winter ~440 miles for me. If you're able to get a good deal like me, than hands down its a steal. Only downside is you will have to pay separately for the spare tire.
Congrats on your ride.
I call BS
I've never heard of a car not coming with a spare tire. In general I'm not a fan of CVT's but with a hybrid I would go with it. I've been trying to decide if I want a Civic Si or an Accord Sport Turbo or one of these probably not as fun but really smooth hybrids. I appreciate your review. I will definitely test drive each one to see which one feels best.
Thanks for the comments. Only the hybrids doesn’t come with a spare tire. Though one can add the spare tire after purchase. I made a video on the spare tire kit one can buy also.
Both very fun cars btw. It doesn't come with a spare tire for two reasons... one the battery is flat lithium ion battery that sits under the rear seats and into the trunk (saves a ton of space but takes a way where a spare tire well would be) but second, it's to increase MPG as spare tire wells and the tires add weight and reduce your MPG. I hope this helps. I hope you enjoy the Si and Accord Sports, they are a blast!
@@sluggerz12 As I keep watching videos and deciding which one I want, I'm leaning more and more towards the Civic Si. In my opinion it's the most bang for your buck. You could spend slightly more and get slightly better this and that like heated or leather seats and stuff like that. Even though I'm in Minnesota I've never had heated seats. Just remote start it and let it warm up and dress appropriately. I think I will have it within the next 2 months. Possibly in the next month.
It isn't a CVT; it doesn't even have a transmission. Most of the time, the engine is not connected to the wheels. So there is no relationship between the engine's rpms, and the wheels rpms. You can still calculate the ratio of the two, and yes it varies continuously so they it an "eCVT", but the number is irrelevant.

#1 con.... No audio source button
Is that button on the bottom right that's says "source" not the audio source button?
I'm looking for a button just to press for "Source" or "mode" on the steering wheel. Btw, there's another "audio source" on the scroll wheel. Honda used to have a dedicated button to switch between different "source" on the steering wheel. I just find it distracting to drive without it. Toyota still has that button on the steering wheel.
@@netman88 With your left thumb, press the "Home" button. Use the scroll wheel to select "Audio" in the Driver Information Interface. Until you change it, all of your possible sources will be listed in the DII, and you select them with the scroll wheel.
any Honda is good honda
What is the best mpg you have gotten so far
Silver looks so good on this car.
I can't understand why Honda does not offer Ivory leather to go with the silver exterior.
Honda, you hear that?
I agree.
I hate how there’s no digital speedometer on the instrument cluster. Only on the HUD on the touring.
I wished that I’ve done a little more research on this vehicle. I love the style and how much it saves gas, but for me having a Touring I DEFINITELY should have a spare tire or jack to come with the car. When your tire pressure is low, it doesn’t tell you which tire it is. That’s up to you to figure out. Eh if I had to rate this car it’ll be an 8.5
Yeah, I think Honda is saving that low tire pressure feature for the Acura. I agree with you on no spare tire, I had to purchase a spare and jack kit.
I’ve a Honda and this is one feature that is annoying. Comes on way too much in cold weather. Despite tire having no issues or what not. I get the pressure goes down when temp changes but happens WAY to frequently
I found that tire pressure was sort of a pain also. I had to go check each tire to see which tire was the problem.
netman88 the spare and jack kit cost over $450 that’s kinda steep for my pockets lol. I also agree with @J&J each season somehow the tire pressure changes. Which is very annoying when it’s frequent.
netman88 also , I hope that Honda upgrade that feature to let us know how much psi in in each tire. I know too many other brand cars (base models ) that has that feature. Honda is pretty upbeat when it comes to technology just to be slacking that feature. Lol
The reviews I watch mpg isn't anywhere near the sticker of 48mpg city/highway, which doesn't seem right.
I found the Honda Hybrids, you have to drive it different to achieve this MPG.
@@netman88 Thanks for info & review.
I have a 2016 Toyota prius and get constantly in the 50's MPG in the hot summer i get 56 or57 MPG and it falls down to 50 to 52 in winter. I like Hondas, but why are they not getting better MPG's
Can’t really compare Prius to Accord.. Prius is a smaller car. Accord is a bigger car. Prius and Insight are similar size.
I want to get a Prius...but it's not even close as far as the interior and looks to the accord. I'd give up a few MPGs for the overall looks & I get android auto with the accord. Thinking of getting one of these soon
At the end of the video you said they all have a buzz; can you explain that. Is the hybrid quieter than a regular in the city because the electric is running it? thanks.
Yes, the radio isn’t very high quality. Sometimes there’s a buzz to the radio when playing loud music.
Yeah, when the engine is not on it’s pretty quiet. One can hear the tires on the road.
@@netman88 oh ok, thank you i am considering a hybrid too and I can live with that. Thank you for the helpful review!!
I achieved 40 MPG using New Nissan Sentra on rental car driving Eco Mode on a trip from Virginia to Newyork
wouch
I average around 32 mpg with my 2016 Honda Accord LX. Not bad.
Hi, if this is the first time having a hybrid, how do you maintain the vehicle differently than a nonhybrid car? Does the vehicle need to be charged since it's electric?
Nothing different really. Drive slower yields more gas $$ saved. If not plug-in hybrid, no needs to charge.
@@netman88 did you purchase the security feature with this car when you met the dealership? I wasn't sure what the security feature was. I thought the Honda Accord hybrid itself already has security features, but the dealership offered something about the security feature to protect the car from theft. Did you purchase that too when you got the car?
@@kimmaty I didn't purchase any extra security features for the vehicle. It has basic security included.
You have to clean hybrid battery filter at least once a year.$100-300 CAD cost. They just remove the seats, wipe the cooling fans, remove & vacuum the filter. I had a toyota highlander nickle-cobolt battery that lasted 640,000 kms with zero vacuuming/cleaning. But that’s Toyota reliability.
Is there any downfalls to owning this accord hybrid? I mean I worry about having to replace the battery, how much will that cost? How long will my original battery last before it gives out? Would I be able to swap it myself?
I test drove both Toyota Camry and Honda Accord Hybrids. I would drive both to see which is better for you. I felt on the Toyota that the brakes were not grabbing and noisy. Honda has more interior room and felt the interior as more spacious.
Toyota has a lot more Hybrid experience over the years than Honda so it's likely Toyota hybrids will be more reliable and less problems. I'm not sure about the cost of batteries but they are expensive are sure.
I would say if around 10 years or 150K miles, you might want to sell it or when you see the range shrinking. IMO, I know the Toyota batteries are more reliable than Hondas over time so far.
Honda is no slouch when it comes to hybrids. Their Insight was ground breaking. Phenomenal vehicle thst got 60mpg.
What is the steering wheel on the right above Cruise main for?
??? Don't understand what you asking.
I guess the pros and cons of how it feels, sounds, handles and accelerates as an automobile is in another video?
Yes, I did a number of videos on these. Please see in the description or post a comment.
Yo it has leather but he says he bought a Honda Accord hybrid, and in the website a hybrid don’t have leather seats
To get leather, you will need to purchase the EX-L or Touring models.
What type of trim lines and how many mpg on highway
Not sure the question but the exl and touring hybrid for that year can get 49mpg avg
Where is the battery located ?
Under the 2nd row seats
I get about 47 mpg on mine.
not bad at all.
Spare tire is a must
The Honda Dealer said they can order one for me around $400 not counting balancing.
I never ever needed a spare tire in now 30 years of driving approx. a million miles. I find the compressor more handy.
@@jaybee41318 where was your driving? from the driveway to garage?
How’s the gas mileage?
I've been getting 45 MPG overall with ECO mode and a/c on level three.
Thank you, good to know
Your audio is really bad. Buck
Sorry, I apologize for that. I knew after I uploaded it. I found a fix on mine newer videos.
Not giving performance as per promise. It gives only 35 miles per gallon.
I'm able to get 45 mpg in the summer than that but I have to drive it different than a gasoline vehicle.
I drive normally. Last 6 fill-ups: 3255 miles and 70.6 gallons. That's 46.1 mpg. Now, if every trip is less than 5 miles, or you go 80 mph, you will get a lot less.
My 2019 Toyota Camry gets much better gas mileage and guess what?...........I have a spare tire:)
Mpg varies.
The sound is horrible on this video
Sorry, the mic was having issues
