I am a GM guy and did not really care much about Honda; but now seeing these new updated Honda Accord Hybrid makes me feel like I need one for work and to give me SUV a few days off. The video was so informative, your voice was clear and I am now interested in leasing a brand new Honda Accord Hybrid!! Thank you!
Aeron Tudor you should my dad daily drive 2016 Honda Odyssey and when we want to go to Arizona we go and have no problem at all hopefully next year we driving the Honda to Texas to Missouri then drive back to California
Great review. Just picked up a 2020 exL hybrid. The dealer gave me a bunch of papers on how to use everything due to COVID19. This video helped me big time!!
I've been trying to decide between this and the camry hybrid and your video just made me want this car more. Props to going into detail on some of the features!
I just bout an Accord Hybrid Touring. The salesman was very knowledgeable and informative. However, I did not retain nearly as much of the information as I should have. To make matters worse, Honda only provides an abbreviated manual when the car is delivered. A larger, more comprehensive, manual is free for the asking, but it takes a while to arrive. Your video is just what I needed to review and reinforce what he had told me. Great job!
Bought my new base trim 2019 hybrid model a year ago for just under $21k (basically inventory price). 30k miles and never taken it to the shop for anything other than oil changes and a tire rotation. Range varies depending on the weather, driving conditions and your driving style. In the summer, peak range is ~610 miles, and in the winter ~440 miles for me. If you're able to get a good deal like me, than hands down its a steal. Only downside is you will have to pay separately for the spare tire.
@@JustinFullerReviews So one question. What exactly does the battery indicator on the left from L to F mean? The level goes up and then down and then up and so forth but I have no idea what it is measuring or the significance of the change power levels Thanks
@@bruceschafer3644 It sounds like you are describing the electric battery charge. Once it build up you can drive the car in purely electric model if you like using the EV model button near the shifter. . L: low and F being Fuel. Regenerative braking will help build the charge as you drive.
I have a question about the backup camera. I know the one view is pointing straight down. But even so in the 2020 version we now have it is not showing correctly. In the straight down view even though I back up right at the edge of a line or another car, I get out and look and there is still about 6 to 8 inches of space which makes no sense since the cam should be giving a straight down view and is showing directing on or at the line. Is the cam on my car not adjusted correctly?
If ACC works down to a stop, why should someone have to use the break hold button? Does not the ACC feature automatically stop the car if the car in front of you stops?
ACC works as cruise control also, where as the Brake Hold will just hold the brake at a stop. Similar features with small differences. Comes down to preference for the most part.
It's a fuel efficiency light. It lights up green when the way you're driving will save you as far as gas mileage. If fades back out when the way you're driving doesn't affect your gas mileage in a positive way.
Great video!! One question, for the toggle menu for the left dash, can other apps be added? I'd like to be able to see the compass on the dash. Is it possible to add that?
The left half of the dash display (as opposed to the tablet display, which is the one with the "show/hide" icon Justin talks about) is called the Driver Information Interface. By default, it displays all the apps it can. You can turn them on or off in the tablet display, by choosing Settings->System->Config. of Instrument Panel. You can also change their order on the thumb wheel. That said, you only get a compass if you have navigation, which I think is only on the Touring trim. The navigation app will show the compass if it isn't showing turn-by-turn instructions.
The EX adds: One-Touch Power Moonroof Heated Front Seats Smart Entry with Walk Away Auto Lock® Blind Spot Information System with Cross Traffic Monitor* Apple CarPlay™* Integration Android Auto™* Integration 12-Way Power Driver's Seat Remote Engine Start 60/40 Split Fold-Down Rear Seatback Heated Power Side Mirrors
I have the 2018 base model and the tech is great. Backup camera, lane assist, the full display center, it's all there. I think the base is a great deal (but mileage is not as good as advertised, more like 40).
I was driving home today and the digital screen with the safety/audio features completely went away. It was gone and black. I don’t know what triggered it. Has this happened to anyone? I have a 2019 Honda hybrid ex. Please let me know, thank you :)
You could have hit a button on the steering wheel to toggle between menus. One of those options is just a black screen for those who want a simpler set up on the screen while driving.
Great review. I learned more from you than the dealer who tried to sell me one. LOL I know this is a subjective question and depends on individual driving habits, but what has your average MPG been overall? I'm supposed to buy one in about a month and been reading some people complain the fuel economy is closer to 40-43 (and in a few cases even lower than that). Other people have gotten to the EPA estimates and beyond. Was just curious about your real world tests. Thx Again
I can't speak to this car, but the wife and I got a CR-V and were also experiencing less than the EPA estimate MPG. Turns out we didn't press the little green "Eco" button. The EPA estimate is based on the Eco setting, not the standard setting.
I bought the 2018 model used a few weeks ago. I'm on my third tank of gas and so far I haven't gotten over 39 mpg on a full tank, all the while doing everything I could to drive for high mileage. I've read other reviews that cold weather reduces the mileage, and I haven't had the tire pressure checked yet. It's still way better mileage than my previous car, but I'm still shocked that they claim 47 mpg. When I had a Prius the mileage was always as advertised.
I have this exact car and trim just my interior is black. When I first got it I was averaging 46 to 49 mpg. 2 years of ownership. I routinely get 43 to 46 mpg. However I live in the northeast so in the winter with heat and snow tires I get 31 to 36 mpg. Make sure you try to not have rpm go too far above blue and learn how to use regen paddles. They help.
Best review I’ve seen in a long time. Short, smart, to the point and very helpful.

Is it electric chargetoo or only gas ?
Super informative video. Thank you!

Good video even I'm not good at English and I can understand very well about this car.

Thank you for another excellent video !!👍😀
Great job, Justin .... thank you ! ; )

Hi
Is it reliable?
How much is the mpg in like real life use
No plug in right?
Can you do review about Honda accord Hybrid base features
Much appreciated!
What is the quickest way to fully charge the battery? It is always halfway or below halfway.
Instead of braking, when you can down shift with your paddle shifters to use the regenerative braking. This will help you build up a charge.
Very helpful
Just to review - the EX doesn't come with a spare tire?
None of the Honda Hybrids come with a spare.
@@JustinFullerReviews Thanks for the reply. I'm interested in the non-hybrid EX model.
@@JustinFullerReviews Are the tires run flats?
@@markmasson1559 they are not run-flat tires.

I image there is a small buffer to prevent accidents. You may be able to get a dealerships to adjust that out if you want.

Yes you can.

Great explanation. Thanks
I’m trying to Decide between a base model and an EX version. What are all the differences between the two?
The EX adds:
One-Touch Power Moonroof
Heated Front Seats
Smart Entry with Walk Away Auto Lock®
Blind Spot Information System with Cross Traffic Monitor*
Apple CarPlay™* Integration
Android Auto™* Integration
12-Way Power Driver's Seat
Remote Engine Start
60/40 Split Fold-Down Rear Seatback
Heated Power Side Mirrors

Of the 2 usb ports on the EX: I understand that one is only 1.0 amp-not enough for a quick phone charge. Is the second higher amp-like 2.3 to 2.5?
I believe they are all labeled on the cover so you can tell.

Can you get the hybrid with leather seats or is it only cloth? Ive been thinking about getting one
The Hybrid EXL comes with leather. Or a lot of dealers can install leather in any model for you.
