Phenomenal review. Testing the sounds and responses of the buttons is exactly what I want to see in a hands on video.
Thanks!
pro tip : watch movies on kaldrostream. Been using them for watching loads of movies these days.
@Kaison Zeke Yea, been watching on kaldroStream for since november myself =)
@Kaison Zeke yup, I have been watching on kaldroStream for years myself :)
@Kaison Zeke definitely, have been watching on kaldrostream for months myself :D
EXCEPTIONAL REVIEW...! Not only was it extremely informative, you made it possible for me to feel like I was in the car getting a first-hand tour myself. Thanks a million!
Glad you found it helpful and enjoyed it!
Great review on a great car. I recently bought a 2018 Accord Hybrid Touring (in Modern Steel), and LOVE it. The engine is smooth, it is plenty powerful when needed (I unintentionally spun the tires pulling out into traffic), the eCVT is smooth and always ready, and this car is quiet. However, I will say that the 47/47/47 mpg rating is not accurate. I got 55.7 mpg city mpg today and average in the HIGH 40s and low 50s when combined. It has so much technology. Everyday I'm learning new things it can do. This is a FANTASTIC car. Great looks (MANY compliments on the color and the car's looks from friends and strangers), superb quality and a quiet and luxurious ride. And it's a FUN car to drive. I may have to add stabilizer to the gas tank since I go so long before filling up.
Thanks for the support! And congrats on your new Accord -- we agree that it is indeed a very nice vehicle!
You gave one piece of misinformation-that it has a CVT transmission. According to Honda it has "two-motor intelligent multimode drive (i-MMD)." It's a new innovation from Honda that no other car has, where the computer controls the electric motor and gas engine, using them in parallel or serial combination when needed under high demand conditions. It appears to me from their schematics that although there is no gear shifting, either engine or both can engage the gear train that drives the wheels. It's a one-speed gear that can turn very high rpms. When under electric motor propulsion, the gas engine can disengage to minimize friction energy loss.
Wonderful review like always car confections keep it up 👍👍👍
There is a temporary setting in the technician screen you can set the audio system to flat and makes it sound so much fuller. But it resets when you turn off the car. The speakers are capable of producing high fidelity music. But the DSP just kills everything. The rear deck subwoofer blends in better on the flat setting. Some genius at Honda who is not an audio expert decided to do this to protect the speakers. I ran into a guy who had the XLE like I do. He installed a clean sweep processor after the out put. I was amazed what a simple change made sounded like a good JBL audio system or even a Lexus system. I new what a clean sweep does it basically flattens the peaks and adds the lower frequencies the OEM remove. I did a before and after with an older frequency analyzer I borrowed. The stock frequencies were high on the higher frequencies and dropped off a cliff after 500hz. After the processor it filled in all the peaks and either raised or lowered frequencies to flatten everything. The stock system now sounded fat and full. Now from there you can adjust with factory controls. I am not talking bass head bass but well rounded and natural. Some are happy to pay a premium for a premium audio system that is poor. But I am not. Since that tune several processors came out that go in line after the dsp of the stock system. You do not need better speakers it’s just the capability or potential of the stock system is being chocked.
Love your review they are so informative. Keep at it
👍
This is a GREAT review on the Hybrid EX model. The best one I've seen thus far. I just traded in my 2014 Touring Honda Pilot due to the crazy gas prices. The car rides like a dream. I do miss some of the upgrades that the Touring edition offers, but I have No Regrets. This car is wonderful.
Thank you! Congrats on your Accord!
My very first hybrid car!! Amazing job bro.
Nice review
Good stuff bro, I like your reviews and different style
Thanks man!
First comment and great review as always!! 👍
Thank ya!
Good in depth review.
Thanks!
Amazing!
Good Work but At 7:36 you forgot to tell how doors lock/unlock from Door Handle sensor and also when opened Gas Tank Cover thats also only open when your car is unlocked.
How does this review only have 292 likes?!?!
☺️
☺️
it's so beautiful car and have super technology.... Bravo Honda
Another great video...
Thanks! 😁
Considering getting this in 2021 now that these are affordable for me and debating the efficiency of the hybrid or speed of the 2.0t. Torn!
I understand a heated steering wheel is available in the Canadian versions of the Accord, and is available as a dealer installed option in the US. That's unfortunate. Certainly in the Touring edition (at a minimum) it should be standard here in the US.
Thanks for review. Getting one soon, just deciding between the ex-l model and touring trims. Any thought between those 2 trims and which color (ext & int) do you like best?
You're very welcome! And if it were up to me, I would pick the EX-L trim. You really don't lose much from the Touring, besides ventilated front seats, heated rear seats and full-LED lights. The wheels remain the same, so exterior styling is nearly identical. To me it's not worth the price difference, but if you want the full luxury experience you can't go wrong with the Touring! Hope that helps!
Touring. I got touring because I hate when you have a car and you can’t use certain functions everything is available on touring best hybrid ever
This video was uploaded on the same day I bought my 2018 Accord Hybrid! Mine is silver, and is the Touring trim level! It ROCKS!!
Love my accord hybrid touring but I’m only getting 37 miles a gallon right now I drive 67 mph cruise control every day 90mile round-trip waiting for it to go higher,, Has so many extras with all the Honda sensing it is so good to drive and comfortable mine is ivory white and ivory white inside already have the black rims and black windows
Do you have Eco on? I just bought mine 3 days ago and I’m getting 47-49 with eco and I live in a fairly hilly area.
zingerbear27 Yes sir eco-and slowly my mileage is going up it’s at 37.8 I drive really relaxed cruise control no rush I think it’s because when I got it I went from the stock rims to some 22’s then 20s then back to 17s so I has to adjust back to where I started at the mileage,,, that was my bad. I hope so
zingerbear27 Hey brother check my Honda I just uploaded my video
is the hybrid slower than a normal honda accord touring? Thinking of buying a 2018 honda accord hybrid touring. but I'm wondering if i lose speed or quickness off the stop n go? if the drive is boring since its hybrid?
I bought the Honda Accord Ex
But it doesn’t have that Home button on the LCD screen like on the video
600 mile range is good, but the 2017 Accord had 750+ range with its 15.8 gallon tank... Is the 2018 gas tank smaller to help with trunk space? 2018 has a full size trunk, where as 2017 and earlier were compromised
Brandon Gray yes it's smaller sadly
.
The tank maybe smaller but the range is still 1.5 times of a regular gasoline car. Smaller tank translated into less weight carrying and less tank size. Which translate to more space and cargo carry capacity. Given that it has a full size trunk, I won’t mind the trade off at all.
Yep, since the battery is now under the back seat where some of the gas tank was. They probably got more complaints about compromised trunk space than they did about driving range. ;)
I got a 2014 and was able to get 48 MPG 2 tanks in a row by being mindful and got over 700 miles to the tank. Wonder why they made the tanks smaller and if they put a heat pump system so the engine doesn't have to stay on when you're calling for heat in colder weather.
I’ve been getting 51.9 to 52. 600+ miles is not too shabby
I have a 2014 Hybrid Accord and have averaged 48mpg for over 120,000 miles. Occasionally I have topped 50, but usually it is just under if it is warm and a few below 48 if it is winter.

Tank was smaller to accommodate a larger trunk. Trunk was too dinky on the 2014. I, too got 48 mpg and 700 miles per tank under right conditions. My 2018 hovers at 43-45 mpg.
Ima get a honda soon, but I wanna know is on the all the accord hybrids they come with the new touch drive and reverse not the old fashion shifter?
Correct. Every Hybrid Accord had the electronic shifter
Sorry I missed if it has a spare tire?
How to put Neutral gear after power off???
Looks nice. How is the acceleration? A lot of these hybrids are SLOW
It was actually pretty decent. I couldn't tell much of a difference between it and the 1.5T, so no, it's not too bad. Hope this helps!
Actually, usually the hybrids are faster than their gas-only counterparts 🤨
It burns rubbers and it’s as quiet as it can get ‘cause it have noise cancelling like Bose headphone. I think you get the idea
The new Accord in general gets pretty good marks for having a quiet cabin.
I found the hybrid felt quicker and more powerful than the 1.5t model I drove
The touring has a wireless charger as well for phones
You should do a Malibu hybrid review too
We might be doing one soon!
That would be fantastic! The Malibu hybrid seems to be the Accord hybrids best competitor and I am torn between the two for when I buy
hi buddy plz review the new Toyota Avalon
We are waiting on one to arrive right now!
IS NO ONE ELSE OFFENDED BY THE MANDATORY TAN HEADLINER, EVEN IF YOU CHOOSE BLACK LEATHER?
Probably my biggest complaint. Honda should have know better.
Hey! I know this is old but i need some advice please. I want to purchase a 2018 Honda Accord Hybrid Ex L. I'm concerned about maintenance costs, I have never owned a hybrid. Is it costly? Would i have to take it to the dealer for all maintenance? Does a new battery really cost thousands? TIA
People in the RUclips comments tend to greatly exaggerate everything regarding hybrids. A battery system in a new hybrid is expected to last 15+ years and 200k miles with its small amount of normal maintenance. There's no maintenance that would require the dealership specifically to work on it, unless something significant has gone wrong. And in regard to the battery, replacement cost have traditionally been a couple thousand dollars, but the prices are falling fast due to EV with 50 to 100 times larger battery packs becoming more normal. Hope this helps!
@@CarConfections YOU DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH THAT HELPS ME. I going to go ahead and go through with it! THANK YOU for taking the time to respond. You seem VERY knowledgeable about cars- I'm so glad I asked!
@@Colo211 glad to help!
"in-depth" with a video test drive would really make it so.
We have a drive in a lot of our recent videos. Thanks for watching!
I think of buy used 18' Honda Accord Hybrid.
is the seat comfy
Yes
Hybrid with a 1 speed transmission?
It's basically an electric transmission. One motor/generator turns the mechanical power from the engine into electricity and passes it to the other motor that spins the wheels. The engine is only mechanically connected to the wheels at certain highway speeds.
What about the gasoline engine?
I looked up Honda'a web site. The car does in fact have a CVT transmission, which makes a lot more sense.
OnePlus 5T -- Noice
OnePlus squad haha
I can't wait for a new redesign front and rear end design because its ugly dislike the civic lights
Why is it that Honda can make such an amazing Accord and such a horrible sound system.
Pedro C my last two accords had premium audio and they were garbage. Word is Altimas from the early 2000's have far superior sound systems. And Chevy cavaliers sound better smh. This time around I got a Camry XSE V6. Jbl is awesome.
I have a 14 accord V6 love the motor. The only thing I hate is the audio system, I prefer a V6 over a 2L turbo regardless if the turbo has more torque it also has more noise. I like the smoothness and quietness of the V6.
You can always change out the speakers and a sub and amp
It’s the equalization built into the amplifier and noise cancellation that destroys the sonic capability not the speakers. When I set the setting to flat in tech mode it makes a nice difference. I am not talking about the radio eq. I am pass adding stereo up grades to cars years ago. Been there done that. But if I was to do something ? It would be some processor to flatten the frequency’s. The stock speakers are fully capable of good solid performance. The system is just over processed / EQ’d to save the stock speakers from bass maniacs. I was one along time ago.
Noice dampening May have do a number to the speaker performance. I should figure how to turn of the Noyce dampening and see what happen
It’s a shame the new Accord is so ugly. 47 mpg is nice!
Not ugly at all. It stands out and doesn't look like the typical low-end family car. (Like previous gens). I'm buying one today.
I think it looks amazing!
Love it when people say this about any car. It's ugly to YOU. Looks great to some of us other folks that have our own opinions...
Doesn't even look nice.
It's such a great car though!
It's a ugly duckling. It's all over the internet
Oh, well, if it's all over the internet....
