  • The new Accord Hybrid didn't quite met EPA, but we didn't expect it to. Opt for a non-Touring model with smaller wheels, and you'll be just fine.

I previously owned a 2019 Accord Hybrid (base). Over 9,150 miles I averaged 50.3mpg and once managed to do 675 miles on a single tank (56.8mpg). You REALLY need to understand the mechanics of this car and HOW to drive it to get the most out of it. Using the regen paddles instead of brakes for all stopping activities makes a huge difference.

DM, It seems to me that a variety of Toyota Hybrid sedans achieved far better mpg results. While comparable with Honda around town, the Toyota Hybrid system has regularly proven itself to be more efficient at highway speeds.

That’s not very efficient at all tbh. I’m surprised at how poorly it performed.

That's the same as my 2016 Accord, non hybrid.

nah bro. Everyone is failing to meet epa figures with this new car. Unacceptable in 2023, Honda needs to redo their cycle or get it validated.

That's a pretty disappointing number all things considered. Real world highway driving, I have gotten as much as 4 MPG (for a total of 57 MPG) over the EPA in my Camry hybrid. And that is for an entire tank. 690 miles. Segments of highway, I will see 50-70 MPG. During the winter, freeway MPG drops down to mid 40s. But during the summer, it is incredible. On my 6 mile drive to work, I will often see 99 MPG for the trip. It just depends on outside weather for the Camry.

I like the fact that you can get both the Camry and the Accord in hybrid. However I actually like last year's Accord body design better. For some reason this year looks like a Ford fusion and its simplicity.

My first road trip with Touring Hybrid . From Barrie Ontario to Burlington . Round trip : 270 km , 5.1 l/100 km ( 46.5 mpg) at 110 km/h (68 mph) . I am really happy with results. 😊😊 . Amazing silence, ACC system, and usability from multimedia

The Korean cars do better than the Japanese when it comes to meeting their real world mpg

My 14 accord coupe v6 gets about 32-35mpg on long highway driving. Granted daily driving in the neighborhood im getting about 22-25mpg. Thanks for the vid, sorta puts the hybrid tech into perspective on highway driving

I just got a 2023 Accord Sport and was averaging some wild numbers when driving in the hills at around 45 MPH. Like over 60 MPG. Using the regen braking paddles is huge.

I’ve driven a couple Honda hybrids. And they don’t feel like hybrids, they feel like normal engines. That’s what i like about it, hybrid without feeling like one.

  • @tjalam4859

So I drove from Atlanta to Ontario just a week after i bought the 23 hybrid sport. That’s over 20hours with stops and all. I averaged about 46 mpg for that entire trip.

Getting my Accord Hybrid Touring in Urban Gray Pearl really soon! Can't wait to start driving it. Huge upgrade from my old reliable daily!

  • @RJ-se9op

i got 47mpg on the highway yesterday driving the speed limit mostly . on the way home i sped a bit and it dropped by a bit. if you dont speed and go the limit these hybrids do really well.

I wish all your gas mileage reviews would give a separate in town use. Almost ALL cars get their advertised mileage or better especially on cruise control at a lower speed. So the videos are never any surprise. The real story is in city mileage, THAT can be the big surprise! Maybe you’ll consider this for future videos?

  • @forumboss2620

Earlier this year I rented a 2022 Toyota Camry, NON Hybrid. No battery. On a 428 mile 90% highway trip I got 37.4 MPG.
