I just want to say, your Oneiric essence video actually unlocked something in my brain, and now I think I actually know how to carry my looks out from this point on. Thank you for saving a girl!
Sorry if this is weird😅but, I'm an artist (have been working full time as a painter for the last decade), and I just need to tell you, when I started this video, I was admiring your nose. Noses are my favourite part to paint on the face and I was thinking how you have such a great nose, particularly the bridge, such a great shape and suits your face so well. It really adds to your ethereal essence, imo. And now I have just paused at the natural essence bit where you talk about your nose and how it used to be an insecurity for you growing up - so I felt I had to leave this comment! You have a wonderful and striking nose, and I am so glad you've grown to embrace it!🖤
Aw thank you so much!! It’s hard to 100% shake the insecurity but I’m working on it, and comments like this help! I hope in time, the fad for overcorrecting noses with surgeries goes out of style because I miss the days of actors having unique noses!
I put a selfie into ChatGPT and asked it what my Kitchener blend could be and it said romantic, classic, natural, and little bit ethereal. It went into detail about how it analyzed my features (warmth, elegance, approachability, softness). Thought that was crazy because that’s what I was thinking too after watching this series. Worked great for confirmation
I’ve been loving this series (the oneiric video truly was a lightbulb moment for me and explained why I’ve been struggling with figuring out my essence) and I’m really excited to see you combine some of these essences! I’d love to see a combination of Romantic and Oneiric, like the way you described in your reply to my comment “Dark details paired with rich reds. Like a candlelit macabre feast!” It just sounds like a hauntingly gorgeous look that I think you could totally pull off 🥀🕯️❤️🔥
When I saw you in the natural essence I thought that was perfection on you and still looks so ethereal! I would cast you in a movie as a goddess like Venus. Or maybe a queen who is extremely compassionate toward her subjects and has magical abilities. You look the most ethereal in low contrast and it makes your eye colour and skin look so radiant. Even your oneiric look made me think of Hecate gently guiding lost souls to the underworld.
I wore my version of oneiric to work and got told I looked really classy so… I guess it works for me! Dark circles and all…!! Thanks so much for brining it to my attention!! ❤ that shirt/ dress is beautiful too! I love your breakdown of these and naturally you seem to know what suits you..
I definitely agree ethereal, romantic, and natural are your main 3!!! And I think you could add a sprinkle of oneiric, dramatic, or even ingenue quite easily. It’s also been cool to see how you can made the other essences work even though you felt they didn’t sit right for you. I can’t wait for the final look! Tysm for this series 💕
“How can we ROMANTICIZE ourselves a little bit…” Insight like this, and your ability to articulate your own processes is an essential part of your channel. This series can been so lovely, and I hope you’ve encouraged many to engage in some fun playtime trying on some new personas. Getting to know ourselves and trusting that self-knowledge is the key to not only beauty, but happiness. You make me feel blessed, thank you!
I love the self-love idea, leaning into what who we are, and what we have; being more about self acceptance and using that to our advantage! So many times we are made to feel like we don’t fit into pre-determined societal box, and sadly give up trying. Thank you E, for this amazing series! 👌🏼👌🏼
When you said the words "feel at home," that definitely hit for me. Ultimately-- for me at least-- I want to play & experiment & mesh essence/style/makeup into looks that feel at home for me. Like YES, here I am & always have been. Even if it's a shape-shifting home depending on the season-- a chameleon essence 🦎-- I always want it to be a kind of unmasking of *more* of myself, not a covering up. So, thank you for saying those three magic words and for this overall series. You are a benevolent muse of glam enlightenment ✨️🙌🏼✨️
Going through these different essences with you gave me a better understanding of them. It's nice to see an interpretation of all of them on the same face. And seeing them one at a time with some time to digest all of the information also helped. When I first heard about these a few years ago, it was information overload for me😂 I feel like Oneiric is also a dark version of Natural since it's a more subtle essence. Where Natural is beachy, inviting, and sunlit, Oneiric is haunting, reserved, and moonlit. I think these descriptors like "Relaxed Aphrodite" or "Dark Demeter" are more intuitive and evoke a more tangible image in my head than the essence names. I think they definitely suit your makeup style. I actually think I like to play in different essences on my face versus my clothing. I would say my usual makeup looks are Dramatic/Gamine/Ethereal and the descriptors "Intense Pixie" and "Playful Sorceress" also work well for what I'm going for. But I don't think I play with a lot of Ethereal in fashion, that's just not my vibe. I think I lean more towards Classic most of the time or Natural, especially in summer. I feel like "Edgy Prep Schooler" (Dramatic/Gamine/Classic) and "Edgy Tomboy" (Dramatic/Gamine/Natural) also encapsulate my style very well, and I would wear a lot of the outfits in those mood boards.
I love the idea of descriptors too! They definitely conjure a sense of the essence blends for those not deeply familiar with the system. Love how much you play with your style!
My personal aesthetic is very natural/romantic/dramatic & has been for a long time. I love vintage inspired pieces, 30s/40s/70s/80s. I can lean theatrical when dressing up & I love Halloween & Ren Faires/Costume Balls. Relaxed tailoring & flowy silhouettes. Soft makeup in natural colors with emphasis on the eyes. Long wavy hair. Nothing too fussy or restrictive, shoes that can be walked in. That's my go-to. Which essence is dominant is very occassion & season dependant.
This was a great idea for a series. I have very similar features to yours and it interested me to see how these different ideas played out on a similar canvas but one that i could more objectively assess, you know? It’s so hard to see yourself sometimes
It's been really cool watching all the videos you've made on these! I definitely have a clearer idea of what each essence includes and their traits. I really like stuff like this and exploring different styles. I'm still struggling to imply any to myself though, i feel like i'd need someone else's help to really tune into the ones i'd pull of. Also Toast is just the cutest!
It honestly took a little bit for it to fully click for me and really the best way was fully leaning into one essence to see what worked and what didn’t! And if you have any celeb looks likes!
I loved this series, it was so inspiring and a lot of the things you said resonated with me. I had this thought the other day about beauty in general and why it was considered superficial. And I think a lot of interests, hobbies or jobs that are mainly done by and for women have been disregarded. I think criticism is a way to control by dismissing and diminishing. Makeup was not always just for women and it's one of our oldest tradition when you think about it. It's an art and it really is an expression of oneself. I loved what you said and I'll try to romanticize my life and my style more ❤
I had never heard of Oneiric essence until I saw your video. It definitely brought me some clarity. I probably do have some dramatic essence and I thought that was why I was drawn to the darker angelic looks and vibe but something still didn’t seem like “me”. But now it all makes sense. I’m pretty sure I have angelic, oneiric and some dramatic essence (but it isn’t my main essence). I’m not sure how to make those essence work for my boring desk job and busy mom life but it is fun to finally understand my essences.
I love how many people felt oneiric really was something missing! Hopefully you can find some easy and fun way to integrate your essences into every day! 💕
I'm personally very eclectic and experimental, but the essence that gives me all the feels is Oneiric. Give me a grayed out lavender with a touch of sickly taupe and that's all I need.
This series really unlocked something for me! I’ve struggled with figuring out my essence apart from believing I have some classic and just seeing it as boring as I couldn’t figure out what else I have. I’ve always been drawn to Angelic essence, and from doing more reading on this and watching this series I believe I’m a Classic with Angelic and a touch of Ingenue. Those last two really unlocked something for me and I now feel more brave to test out more with my style.
Love this!! Kitchener has been somewhat of a breakthrough for me, compared to Kibbe that basically has the rule that you can only have one essence alone. Nothing wrong with his system of course, for those who find it helpful
I have loved this series! It was so fun seeing the different looks. I'm still debating about mine but, I'll just continue to play with whatever I feel. I tend to lean into smoky looks for my eye makeup regularly. Then I love a dramatic lip color with it. Thank you for doing this series!! You're one of my favorite people on here. Watching your videos is so relaxing but, fun and informative. ❤❤
In 2015 I was typed as a Dark Winter/Yin/Soft Gamine during an in-person analysis. The DW color palette definitely was resonate with me and my most flattering colors, but some of the stereotypical Gamine recs felt so restrictive and like I was trying to hard? I am intrigued by the Oneiric essence maybe that is the missing piece. I am a more introvert person who loves all goth, spooky, witchy things. I've felt lost in my style journey the past few years, so thanks for giving me something to think about. You are gorgeous, BTW!!
Ooh yes maybe Oneiric is the missing piece. Lots of people said something similar in the comments of that video. Have fun experimenting! Thanks for watching 😊💕
I really like this outlook/system on features and style. I've never been very tuned in with trends and have always felt adrift on what I "should" be doing. This system clicked with my brain when others haven't for some reason. My dominant essences are natural, dramatic and ethereal essences. People often tell me I'm very intimidating from afar but I'm generally a very open/kind person once someone actually talks to me. I have a long and angular face that I've always been insecure about, but this gave me great ideas to work with/ celebrate my features.
I feel the same way about trends and really loved delving into this system. So glad it’s helped you consider a new perspective for approaching style and celebrating your uniqueness ❤️
I’m glad I watched this, I’ve never quite fit into the usual essence categories, but after watching this I am fully oneiric! I’m often compared to ortega, and those colours work best on me, so thanks, I now have a fun new rabbit hole to go down!
This comprehensive video is really nice and puts all of the essences into perspective. I think ingenue is certainly me. I've been mistaken for my husband's daughter twice, and I'm several years older than him. I don't think it's lack of aging, although I do have less gray and less lines on my face than some people my age. I think it's that my face is just youthful in structure, and besides having hooded eyes, that's why I can't pull off heavy makeup. But there's a dash of oneiric that I can probably play up when I'm not in the mood to look like a child, because that gets old when you need people to listen to you or take you seriously. Dark circles, long middle third, big eyes, etc. People tell me I look good when I wear a dark lip despite being mistaken for a child in my 40s. Both flattering and weirdly embarrassing, haha. I think a dark lip would keep that from happening as much, and maybe some light liner under the bottom lid. Leaning into the exhausted immortal child aesthetic! There's always something new to think about with regards to how you present yourself, even when you are old enough to have settled into habits.
@evangelinemolly Yes, this series really got me thinking about how our bone structure and the degree of prominence and contrast in our features can affect how people perceive us and what we can do to lean into that or change it. It was really neat to see you put on each look and how that worked out did not work, and notice how it affected what kind of person you might seem to be at first glance. You can do dramatic makeup, but your softness still shows through.
I am so thankful yo made this videos! I’ve never been able to find my season but the oneiric style video hit the nail in the head. Firstly because I’ve always wanted a proper tutorial on how to look like a consumptive Victorian but also because yes, I kind of suit that essence even when I sprinkle a dramatic eye with it❤.
Never thought I would associate with the dramatic and gamine essences, but the makeup looks are ones I do on the daily and they feel so natural - who knew😂❤ love this video
I am an ADHD girly who fell in love with you after RUclips suggested your Oneiric Essence video. I LOVE the subtlety of your take on essences, but can I ask for time stamps/ chapters? It is soooo hard for me to digest a long video without them even if I’m super excited about it
Aw thanks so much for the support! I’ll definitely look into this for longer videos. It’s weird because sometimes RUclips does autochapters that I find pretty accurate but for some reason, it didn’t happen with this video. I’ll be sure to do it manually with the longer videos going forward
This has been such a fun series! I feel like this will be most handy in my writing- I already try to keep my characters diverse, but having these essences in mind can help find what gaps I might have within a group of characters- and then decide if I want to change/add characters. It's also fun to use these to create a certain "persona" for a Renaissance faire! Do I want to lean into my essences of contrast them? I'm going to one next week, and now I've got my gears turning!
Love this series!! I used to call my aesthetic “cute creepy little girl”… a la Tim Burton! Now I realizes it’s that I’m oneiric gamine with a dash of ingenue. Love it!!
This whole series got me curious as to what blend of essences I got because I've been on a makeup wearing kick as of late. Taking a quiz, I got a blend of classic, ethereal, and dramatic. I've yet to figure out how to make a makeup look that brings these three together. Thinking about it even further, could I mostly be a classic and oneiric?! :O hahaha Thank you so much for this series!
I think Gemma Chan who I mentioned in the ethereal has classic and dramatic in her blend if you wanna check out some of her looks! Have fun experimenting 💓
Judging myself all in all I think I fall in between natural and oneiric essences. Good to know! :) Before your videos I didn't know oneiric essence exists, but for me it makes sense because it's like a darker twist on ethereal and natural essences.
This is making a lot of sense to me because while I wouldn't necessarily say we look the same I felt like your "essence" was very similar to mine even if I wouldn't have thought to put it that way. I even dye my hair red with Henna and have for a long time 😂 When I first heard about Kitchener I thought I had ingenue essence but I think through this video I've decided that the elements of ingenue I liked on myself had more to do with my ethereal essence. I really need to play around with oneiric because people have always annoyingly asked me if I'm feeling sick or tired even when I'm in a perfectly good mood (until they asked me that is🙄) my friends have told me that before they got to know me I was mysterious and maybe a little scary 😂 I really connect with ethereal like you said it just feels like it speaks to me, but oneiric could be something I end up enjoying playing in to. My renfaire costume is a druid and I always feel my most beautiful when I'm doing my makeup heavily leaning into that ethereal essence and the whole costume just feels more like me than my every day clothes. I think even if oneiric works for me and maybe even technically works "better" for my features I will always claim ethereal first and foremost
I love how people can have the same essences but technically look quite different, it really goes back to how it’s an energetic quality! I’m glad this helped you on your essence journey. I feel the same about oneiric vs ethereal. I may have some oneiric, but I feel most myself with the ethereal. I want to go to my first renfaire this summer! Can’t wait to dress up. Your costume sounds so cool.
I immediately could tell we have some similarities essence-wise. Both romantic and natural, except instead of ethereal I've got some ingenue. And oneiric is probably my fav on you! I tend to lean into my romantic essence the most but I can't deny the other two. :) As a teen I tried to be dramatic and gamine (I admired both) but learned to lean into and love my true essences.
This was so much fun, what else do you have up your YT sleeve Evangeline? I learned quite a bit about where I fall on the Kitchener scale. I think I am a combination, not one specific classification. Have you decided if you will be going forward with a social media career or back to the Evangeline? I think you are very well suited to this platform, if you can swing it financially. Great content, super interesting! ❤️
@@evangelinemollyThat taupe shade is very elegant and sophisticated on manucured hands. I've been down the rabbit hole of Kibbe and Kitchener for the past year and I soak up every piece content about it yours is by far the most aesthetically pleasing! I'm a kibbe soft natural just like you, with a natural/dramatic/romantic essence mix. I feel so much more myself now that my style has evolved ! Keep up your great work ❤ love from France!
My strategy is less “does this look good or bad?” (Though sometimes things do look bad or good) but rather, “do I feel like I’m playing dress up, or is this me?” Nothing wrong with dress up, but you never feel quite as actualised or confident if you continuously and unconsciously feel like you’re not within your look.
Subscribed! I had a somewhat similar journey to yours in that I was flailing about among the essences--I wanted to be a gamine so badly. Come to find out I have shoelace levels of gamine, natural, and ingenue; classic clothes and makeup just make me look (and feel!) constrained. My dominant essences are dramatic, romantic, and ethereal (or possibly oneiric) almost in equal proportions. The upshot: While I don't wear a lot of shimmer and shine, I get a lot of mileage out of baked, mapled/charred, and oxidized looks. And I have very hooded eyes, so I am wasting my time with anything more elaborate than a simple sweep of a medium contrast eyeshadow plus smoked out eyeliner. (My fiance, who asserts that he dislikes obvious makeup, is enchanted with this look.) Again, great video!
@evangelinemolly I think it was equal parts trial and error, seeing how far I could play with recs for Dark Autumn makeup and in which direction, learning to work with my features instead of fighting them, and embracing my actual body type/essences. One other thing that stuck with me was reading a description of the qualities seasonal palettes are supposed to bring out in each person. For example, anyone with an Autumn palette should have the appearance of being illuminated in fire, be it candlelight or a full-on woodland bonfire. I had a similar experience with jewelry: If it doesn't bring out that "fire" aspect, it probably doesn't belong in my jewelry box.
I haven’t seen those descriptors before for the colour seasons and now I’m so intrigued. I find more poetic ways of looking at these systems can be super helpful!
@@evangelinemolly Thank Joan Kosmachuk. She trained under Suzanne Caygill, maintains a color analysis practice, and has a blog on the subject. So a Spring palette is indicative of refreshment and buoyancy, a Summer palette of subtlety and complexity, an Autumn palette of inner fire. Your typical Winter palette, meantime, should remind the onlooker of the uncompromised purity of fresh snow. Once I read this it was a bit of an "aha" moment.
I loved this and it made me want to play with make up ( that I already own, trying to be a conscious consumer here lol) and see if I can have fun trying new colors and styles. The overall message of embracing your own unique beauty is lovely. I am a bit sad that you dismissed the gamine look because that's my main essence🤣😉but I can see how among all the others it was definitely the one that suited you the least. I do believe this system is a solid starting point to improve our own personal style.
People always tell me my greatest talent is invisibility because I can walk into a room and nobody will notice me. Don’t know what that means for my essence 😂. I’ve asked them to explain further and the consensus is that I don’t take up energy/space, I don’t want/need anything from anyone, and I don’t do anything to draw attention to myself but I’m simultaneously everywhere and nowhere to people.
@ thanks! I’ll check that out. That one might make sense for me because right off the bat I’m reminded that my favorite photographer is Francesca Woodman mostly because my upbringing and life trajectory (up until a certain point, obviously) is eerily similar to hers.
Hey, Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this but I wonder if your kibbe type is romantic, you have a slope to your shoulders and waves and draping seems to suit you quite well. I know that there has been some recent updates to kibbe stuff that maybe interesting to look into.
Interesting observation! I’ve landed on soft natural as I have width in my rib cage and chest to accommodate, and narrower hips, but my shoulders seem more slopey as you pointed out. I’m curious about the recent updates as I haven’t heard about any!
I’m definitely running more Oneiric (spelling?) myself I think! I’m going to do some more digging in to these essences. Thank you for this series! *edit to add: I think some of the color stories you can come up with using the Huda Beauty palette in Pretty Grunge can work. I also just got some more Rituel de Fille today that pairs well with that Oneiric essence (hopefully I spelled it right haha).
5'9, very curvy, broad shoulders and hips. Medium brown, slightly hooded, almond shaped eyes, but concealer and high coverage foundation flattens out my features and removes dimension 🥹 get told I look way younger than I am, but I feel like my features are really brought out better when I have defined smokey cat liner and dramatic eyelashes and super contoured cheeks. But I can also add a cute pink cheek and look adorable and cutsy with doe eyes. The Oneiric essence fits me, mixed with dramatic and a splash of onjinu. Witchy, spooky, haunting, but in a cute way!
Resonating with this! How tall are you? I’m 5’7”. I wonder if you’re about my height. The reason is because I’m curious as to weather or not one can be dramatic but still curvy. I feel like that’s me. Oneiric is everything by the way, for you and definitely for me.
This has been interesting. I'm definitely more yang, probably a mix of dramatic, a little bit of gamine, and natural. Perhaps it's due to my limited understanding, but I feel like everything are feminine oriented. Is there anything for androgynous/masculine essence (I definitely have some), or is it gap? It's not dramatic, because androgyny can be understated as well.
Yes the system is for all genders and there are examples of masc people for each of the essences! I just focused on women due to my own exploration but there’s lots of resources out there if you wanna delve into other people! 😊
Here was my deep dive and in the description box, I’ve linked all the resources!! ONEIRIC essence makeup... aka the "lost" essence 🖤 ruclips.net/video/dd0qKANq2P4/видео.html
I personally feel otherworldly! She seems to have an ethereal and dramatic blend, with some natural, which gives her that angelic presence yet it’s bolder with touches of boho. She’s somehow too striking and strong looking to be underworldly in my opinion but I know people feel differently!
@@evangelinemolly I'm not gonna lie, I watched this and commented before watching the Ethereal video after where you mentioned Florence, I'm sorry about that D: I do agree, she definitely has the ethereal but I notice as you said in that video she's also got Natural mixed in. She touched on the underworldly look during her Dance Fever era but I do definitely see that Ethereal/Natural mix. Thank you for replying
I'm half Yin and Yang. I'm equally right and left brained. I'm into astrology. My dominant planet is Venus, but I have equal masculine and feminine planets. Edit: my theory is that our yin yang essence is directly corelated to our astrological birth chart.
@@evangelinemolly yessss! I'm not a content creator but I have a deep respect and admiration for content creators. The world is a better place because of you guys. You bring so much joy and I look forward to your content🤗❤️
What is it called if lean towards girly girly and gothic …I combine both!!!! I love black leather jackets with pink ribbon in my hair for example. What is that even called ?? 😂
I feel like I can’t fit into any of the essences cause the asian people in the list are asian people who have angular faces but i dont and there’s not many other examples of asian people in other categories :
If you’re really interested in playing with the essences, I just touched the surface in these videos. There’s lots more examples across Reddit threads and by other creators. If you have a celeb look a like, perhaps Google their name with “style essence”. It’s actually a fun exercise to do with any celeb when you’re feeling curious. I also found this Reddit thread for someone who deep dived on POC essences, which I found quite insightful. If you have softer features, that’s definitely a suggestion of a softer essence (perhaps Romantic or Ingenue)? If you have any questions, I’m happy to help try and guide you on your essence journey 💕 www.reddit.com/r/DressForYourBody/comments/wgxjy9/the_unofficial_official_bipoc_style_essence_guide/?rdt=37528
Id say your are romantic dominant with dramatic as secondary (it really shows you quite effortlessly which people pick up on) and ethereal as tertiary. I understand why you think E should be higher. But in full E ensemble I see a lot or you is missing. D is propagated is social media as women support side effect and R is sorta limited to tuning women into sexual objects. Sadly a LOT gets list in those simplifications
I think I’m gamine mostly which worked great when I was 25. I don’t know what to do with that makeup now that I’m almost 50. I love a bold eyeliner but that looks bad now that my eyes are soooo hooded.
Because of you now I’m sure about my 3: gamine, natural, and oneiric. They match my style roots (Ellie-Jean’s system) too interestingly enough: sun, moon, and earth. Edit: I meant to add that I definitely think you’re romantic, natural, and ethereal. One more edit: yay I was right! I put my predictions before finishing the video - although I thought you were more romantic than I guess you are because of how well you pulled off those red lips.
I’m a person whose body doesn’t match her face 😂. I have very dominant shoulders and liken my shape to a swimmers body, but a lot of flesh and width. My face itself looks very young bordering between ingenue/ethereal. My personality is blunt and not subtle at all.😅. I have zero grace to my movements lol. I’ve been called mysterious, intimidating or extremely youthful. I’ve long given up on typing myself because I’m such a strange clash of all the essences. I personally felt Romantic fit you so well and that ethereal was a subclass of your dominant romantic essence.
@ Thanks.☺️. I think if I had a celebrity who came close to my essence and facial features, it would have to a cross between Vivian Leigh and Helena Bonham Carter. I love channeling them both for inspo. Vivian for her dramatic/romantic/ingenue and Helena for her (what I see) as oneiric/romantic essence. Both have this romantic essence but with a Smokey vibe. Less sexual and more…..husky. They have this underlying quality that’s really hard to define and capture, but bolder than ethereal.
Love this series!! I used to call my aesthetic “cute creepy little girl”… a la Tim Burton! Now I realizes it’s that I’m oneiric gamine with a dash of ingenue. Love it!!
I just want to say, your Oneiric essence video actually unlocked something in my brain, and now I think I actually know how to carry my looks out from this point on. Thank you for saving a girl!
Omg I love to hear that! 🖤✨
Honestly. Same.
As another artist, I actually had this same reaction! It's nice to know I wasn't the only one wanting to pick up a paint brush
the ethereal essence is giving pre-Raphaelite art/Florence and the Machine/The Princess Bride and I LOVE that for you!!
Oooh yes!! 💓✨
Best description ever!
Oneiric seems like a delicate essence. A dark , delicate, fragil, but also witchy and spooky one! You look so beautiful in romantic and ethereal!!
Yes totally!
Omg that’s so interesting! I want to try that as an experiment!
Like a candlelit macabre feast!” It just sounds like a hauntingly gorgeous look that I think you could totally pull off 🥀🕯️❤️🔥
I’m making a note to try that combo one day! 🖤✨

Yes!! I definitely jive with the idea of unmasking ❤️
Going through these different essences with you gave me a better understanding of them. It's nice to see an interpretation of all of them on the same face. And seeing them one at a time with some time to digest all of the information also helped. When I first heard about these a few years ago, it was information overload for me😂
I feel like Oneiric is also a dark version of Natural since it's a more subtle essence.
Love the idea of the seasons effecting which essence to lean into!!
This was a great idea for a series. I have very similar features to yours and it interested me to see how these different ideas played out on a similar canvas but one that i could more objectively assess, you know? It’s so hard to see yourself sometimes
Oh yes I totally get that!
Your videos just make me so happy 🩷
I think you have natural as dominant, blended with ethereal and romantic ✨
The natural did grow on me 💓🥰
I loved this series, it was so inspiring and a lot of the things you said resonated with me. I loved what you said and I'll try to romanticize my life and my style more ❤
YES!!! It’s also why people love to trash influencers, but it’s a field dominated by women making a lot of money!
I def see a lot of Ethereal in you with Natural & Romantic
There seems to be a consensus! 🥰💓
Hahah love it!
Yesss!
I’m so glad to hear that!! Happy blending! 💕✨
Love this!! Kitchener has been somewhat of a breakthrough for me, compared to Kibbe that basically has the rule that you can only have one essence alone. Nothing wrong with his system of course, for those who find it helpful
I was literally thinking the other day that it would make more sense to have some mixing in Kibbe!
I think your commentary is spot on. The natural, romantic and ethereal work really well on you.
Thank you!
What. A. Fantastic. Concept. ❤❤❤
Thank you!! It was such a fun journey
Loved this series and looking forward to the blended look! I love systems like this and am curious to try on these essences for myself.
Sounds like you definitely have a bit of dramatic in there ❤️✨
@@evangelinemolly I think so. 🤔
What a wonderful series, thank you for sharing this with us. You are extremely talented. Best wishes Karen 💄💋💜
Thanks so much Karen 🥰💕
This was such an enjoyable series, thank you!
I loved this journey and I’m excited for the next video ❤😊
Your voice and mannerisms remind me of Liv Tyler, I definitely see Ethereal and Romantic, you seem very soft and sensual and have that 'mother' energy
I love Liv Tyler! So flattered!
You (and your chanel) are playing big part in my self acceptance Journey ❤ thank you ❤
I’m so so glad to hear that 🥰💓❤️
I love your videos and the thought/time you put into them. 🖤
Thanks so much! I’m glad you like em 🥰
I’ve loved this series- so fun! I just adore you and the way your brain works 💛
🥰
I’m glad I watched this, I’ve never quite fit into the usual essence categories, but after watching this I am fully oneiric! I’m often compared to ortega, and those colours work best on me, so thanks, I now have a fun new rabbit hole to go down!
Yay have fun!!
So interesting how our faces can give off such a different age or feeling than we really are! Ingenue/oneiric is such a cool combo!
So glad it resonated with you! The colour seasons definitely don’t account for those muddy strange shades!
What a fun video I love hear your reasoning for your thoughts 😀see the combination of features and techniques come together 🤩
Never thought I would associate with the dramatic and gamine essences, but the makeup looks are ones I do on the daily and they feel so natural - who knew😂❤ love this video
Bring on the drama! ❤️✨
Also I REALLY love your makeup today. I loveee the neutral eye and pink mauve lip.
Thank you!!
Ooh that’s such a great point! Lots of features to choose from to flesh out your characters
Love this series!! I used to call my aesthetic “cute creepy little girl”… a la Tim Burton! Now I realizes it’s that I’m oneiric gamine with a dash of ingenue. Love it!!
Haha love that!!
Oneiric sisterhood has all of us sharing the soul of a haunted Victorian child and I LOVE it 😅✨🖤✨
Haha right! 👻🖤
I loved this series. So cool. I just adore you ❤️
🥰💕
the dramatic makeup makes you look like a hollywood golden age star
Ooh I’ll take that!!!
Oneiric is such a fun one to integrate into other essences!
This is making a lot of sense to me because while I wouldn't necessarily say we look the same I felt like your "essence" was very similar to mine even if I wouldn't have thought to put it that way. I even dye my hair red with Henna and have for a long time 😂
When I first heard about Kitchener I thought I had ingenue essence but I think through this video I've decided that the elements of ingenue I liked on myself had more to do with my ethereal essence.
This was such a fun exercise! Also I love the print you're wearing 💮🌹
Thanks so much 😊
I immediately could tell we have some similarities essence-wise.
There’s definitely a certain magic when leaning into one’s essences. Things just work so easily!
What nail polish are you wearing? It’s lovely.
What’s Up Beauty “Joshua Tree”. It’s one of my favourite shades!
So fun to watch ❤
🖤🖤🖤
The name Evangeline with always remind me of the star from The Princess and the Frog, so yeah you're pretty ethereal.
Haha yes I forgot about that!
I’ll definitely be still working at the RUclips for a little bit. I’m really enjoying the community here!
Anytime I see anything about kitchener essences I never know which one I am, I don't understand anything. But it's interesting to see
Sometimes asking friends what their first impressions of you were is a good starting point!
Your makeup is gorgeous. It's giving Rose in Titanic ❤ very romantic
Love your nail color too
Oooh I do love Rose!! The nail colour is Joshua Tree from What’s Up Beauty! 🖤
Thanks for watching! Seems like we have a lot of overlap in our Kibbe and Kitchener. It’s honestly helped me so much too!
My strategy is less “does this look good or bad?” (Though sometimes things do look bad or good) but rather, “do I feel like I’m playing dress up, or is this me?”
Nothing wrong with dress up, but you never feel quite as actualised or confident if you continuously and unconsciously feel like you’re not within your look.
YES!! That’s exactly the best way to explore one’s style!!

(My fiance, who asserts that he dislikes obvious makeup, is enchanted with this look.)
Again, great video!
Oooh love the way you described the looks you turn to! Sounds like you’ve really found what works for you!
I promise I’ll do some gamine-esque looks down the road, just not the white liner 😂
That’s really interesting! It’s giving Oneiric in my opinion!
@ thanks! I’ll check that out. That one might make sense for me because right off the bat I’m reminded that my favorite photographer is Francesca Woodman mostly because my upbringing and life trajectory (up until a certain point, obviously) is eerily similar to hers.
Wow I just looked up her work and it’s beautifully haunting.
Thank you for this vidéo😍😍😍
I’m definitely running more Oneiric (spelling?) myself I think! I’m going to do some more digging in to these essences. Thank you for this series! *edit to add: I think some of the color stories you can come up with using the Huda Beauty palette in Pretty Grunge can work. I also just got some more Rituel de Fille today that pairs well with that Oneiric essence (hopefully I spelled it right haha).
Ooh that palette really intrigues me! You spelled it right 😊
5'9, very curvy, broad shoulders and hips.
Ooh sounds like you have some beautiful unique features!! ❤️
Resonating with this! How tall are you? I’m 5’7”. I wonder if you’re about my height. The reason is because I’m curious as to weather or not one can be dramatic but still curvy. I feel like that’s me. Oneiric is everything by the way, for you and definitely for me.
I’m 5 “5”! Dramatics can definitely be curvy, probably suggesting a blend of Romantic!
Oneiric gives to you Kate Winslet in Titanic if she was direct by Guillermo del Toro. Perfect.
Omg I love this comment
where I can find a deep down of oneiric essence?
Here was my deep dive and in the description box, I’ve linked all the resources!!
ONEIRIC essence makeup... aka the "lost" essence 🖤

I am curious as to which Essence you think Florence Welch would fit in? Otherworldly or Underworldly?
Ooooh might have to deep dive into astrology makeup at some point
@@evangelinemolly yessss! I'm not a content creator but I have a deep respect and admiration for content creators.
The world is a better place because of you guys. You bring so much joy and I look forward to your content🤗❤️
Aw thanks so much!!
I'm classic with almond shaped eyes, slightly monolid and heart shaped lips.
I don't wear a lot of makeup or I'll look overdone.
Definitely some classic in there!
What is it called if lean towards girly girly and gothic …I combine both!!!! I love black leather jackets with pink ribbon in my hair for example. What is that even called ?? 😂
Oooh ingenue Oneiric!!
If you have any questions, I’m happy to help try and guide you on your essence journey 💕

Very interesting!! Thanks for the input! I could definitely see how the essences could be put into limiting tropes that get us confused
I think I’m gamine mostly which worked great when I was 25. I don’t know what to do with that makeup now that I’m almost 50. I love a bold eyeliner but that looks bad now that my eyes are soooo hooded.
Pops of colour in the waterline instead maybe? Fun lip shades! Or pastel eyeshadows all over the lid?
@@evangelinemolly I’ll give those a try and see what I think!!
I clicked bc you look like Chappell roan 😍
Thank you!! I get that a lot these days 🥰
Ooh I’ve been meaning to delve into the style roots!!
I thought the makeup you were wearing for this video was a blend of your essences
My goal was to do a version of it but slightly toned down compared to the full version I plan to do for the next video ❤️✨
You look like pre raphaelite painting coming to life
Such a high compliment!
@evangelinemolly ❤️❤️
Ok but I love that so much. You sound like the lead in a TV show!
Oooh they are both fantastic inspo!
Love this series!! I used to call my aesthetic “cute creepy little girl”… a la Tim Burton! Now I realizes it’s that I’m oneiric gamine with a dash of ingenue. Love it!!
