I realized a couple of months ago that as an adolescent I put my fantasies in a box and never looked at them again, because I wanted to fit in. A few months ago I asked myself: what were your fantasies when I was younger and this really helped me with my style. Because I connected to something again that was lost for a while. Sometimes we are overwhelmed by the fantasies of others as adults, so it’s important to free ourselves from all this stuff and get back to the roots 😊

I can relate to this. I always loved cute, sweet things but for a long time I felt like it’s too childish and I will seem ridiculous if I like that as an adult. But there is a way to channel that love for cuteness and girly things without dressing like a 5 year old.

Notice the circle bag in the cutesy French mod peacoat look? Or the sweetheart neckline in the Femme Fatale look? It's not overly stark and dramatic (Maleficent style).

Buying accessories isn't sustainable either if that's why you suggested it. If not, I kind of agree but not fully. If I have a goth wardobe and want to achieve a 60s/70s vibe, jewelry and belts alone just won't cut it. But instead of going out and buying tons of bright colored stuff, I look more for patterns and muted colors which can work with what I already have.

❤I started both trauma therapy AND a personal style overhaul around the same time a year ago.❤
The journeys of both interconnect more than I had ever thought they would. I'm literally augmenting my therapy via self discovery in my personal style, & visa versa. For example, as someone who has always acted, dressed, & basically developed an entire persona to become the way that would get acceptance, love, & attention from...my parents at first, then crappy boyfriends next, then bosses I wanted to take notice of me...I realized I had become a real-life version of Julia Roberts in Runaway Bride, mirroring everyone in front of me I was desperate to belong with...not knowing who I was, what * I * actually liked in clothes, music, food, hobbies, etc., outside of all their influences & preferences on me. I've been discovering myself from scratch, and YOUR videos and blog posts have been SO instrumental for me in these challenging times. I can't thank you enough!

It’s so good to hear someone talk about blending your fantasy with your reality and examining what is resonating about that fantasy. So many influencers tell people to just dress for their reality and forget about their fantasy self (especially more capsule wardrobe/minimalist influencers) but I feel like that robs people of the creative process and the ability to find true individual style.

*Yay, she's back* . Another fabulously done video. I'm more into home aesthetics than fashion, but there are certainly cross-overs for me. I've applied your methodology into my home. I'm an INFJ personality type, soft natural, love a muted earthy color palette, casual yet stylish, leaning into masculine elements yet also appreciating soft vintage lace doilies. I love mid-tone woods with curves and simple details, a bit of industrial. Vintage books, landscape art and pottery are a vibe. I know how to cook, can and garden. Indie folk music plays in the background as we sit lakeside around a campfire. The bedroom diffuser emits lavender and vanilla in Spring/Summer, cedarwood/patchouli/vetiver in Autumn/Winter. There's a Labrador Retriever nearby always. Money is needed, status is not. Hours long deep dives into subjects are fabulous. Stand-up comedy is the best wind down, George Carlin. Flannel lounge pants, t-shirt and suede fleece lines slippers are perfect evening attire. Wavy hair, just long enough to put up on hot days, a great skincare routine, and natural make-up. Dark roast coffee, cream no sugar, 2 cups..good for the day. Lunch at 11 a.m. , a home cooked meal by 6 for supper, chocolate and nuts for a bedtime snack. My fashion fantasy is comfortable footwear for a dressy occasion. I'm an Artic Muck boot, Teva sandal, clog kinda gal. Looking forward to this series Gaby, you rock!

That takes a lot of pressure (that I put there) off myself and gives me a chance to think about what speaks to me. This video has come at a time where I'm evaluating my purpose (something I had never really put any thought into) as I consider a career change. You are by far my favorite style RUclips channel, and I have consumed an embarrassing amount of YT style content!
I have used a similar process that you described and call them "style personas" instead of fantasies but they are born from the fantasies I love. They are inspired by me but it helps me to think of them in the third person. I have named them all Rocky like my handle, which is not my real name, and have a general mood board for each, a "scentspiration" mood board for fragrances for each, and an interior design mood board for each. I have also written mini bios, defined the foods/flavors they like to enjoy, the types of music they listen to, the types of activities they are found doing, etc. I do not buy items unless they fit my style parameters (body, color, lifestyle, etc) and then ask which of my style personas would wear or use this item and how? And if the answer is none, I realize there is something about the item I likely appreciate and find beauty in but that does not work for me and therefore is not a wise purchase. The best pieces and outfits I put together are when I know more than one of my style personas would be happy to rock the outfit. I am currently working on designing a Canva stylebook and printing it for myself to have a nondigital copy of my inspirations and guidelines.
I love the prompt and can wait to watch the videos! Here are my answers to your prompt:
    1. Kibbe: soft gamine
    2. Kitchener: gamine, ingenue, natural (in that order I am pretty certain)
    3. Season: warm autumn (I sometimes use the whole autumn palette and borrow from the softer warm spring colors when I want brighter colors, basically I prioritize warmth when it comes to color)
    4. Style Tagline (I don't have a tagline but I have 4 main buzz words that I defined with 3 other words to illustrate further what they mean to me, like a style buzz word thesaurus lol): Adventurous (playful, bold, exploring), Effortless (carefree, sensible, cozy), radiant (warm, charming, luminous), creative (artistic, whimsical, dreamy).
    5. Style Roots (inspirations from nature that inform my style aesthetics): Sun, Flower, Earth
    6. Style Personas (which are basically my core fantasies but I'll try to marry them into one): Rocky - The Whimsical Wildflower, Rocky - The Vintage Storybook Heroine, Rocky - The Mid Century Jetsetter, Rocky - The Cozy Cabin Dweller, Just Mom: The Minimalist Maven
    7. My style signatures and things I am known for: color and pattern play, hats, scarves, statement glasses and shoes, and dresses and skirts. I wear some pants but rarely, mostly to lounge at home. I have hiked ten 10 miles on a mountain trail in a dress if that tells you anything about my commitment to them. They obviously were made from pragmatic materials. I didn't hike in a ball gown lol.
    8. Style memories: the first photo I saw of Iris Apfel in the green brocade blazer with layers of bangles and giant round tortoise shell glasses, fashion spreads of twiggy, a mid summer's night dream with Michell Pfeiffer, Mary Kate and Ashley boho era of the late 90s and early 00s.
    9. The outfits: if possible I would love to see spring, summer, fall, and winter versions of outfits for the following scenarios: lounging at home, work from home, work at the office, errands, brunch with friends, and outdoors activities. If you have to pick a season because that would be 24 outfits ;-), please choose spring or summer as they are my favorite seasons.
    10. The Fantasy (not fully realistic to achieve but what I wished existed and want to incorporate into my style): A Day In The Life of a Vintage, Retro-Futuristic, Urban, Seaside, Forest, Flower, Nymph and Artisan - The setting takes places in a quaint seaside city that is a bit Amalfi Coast and a bit like the island of Kauai. My home sits in the middle of a very small cove on a little rocky island just big enough for a home and some green space. My little island is connected to a pristine beach by a small walkable sand bar path. The water is vibrant turquoise and we are surrounded by lush mountains with waterfalls and forested bluffs. My home is not isolated. I live in a walkable beachside neighborhood full of small shops and cafes. The houses draw from both English and French countryside inspirations with lush gardens and winding paths and roads, and while my neighborhood seems to draw more from 13th century inspiration, in the distance you see the city and cultural center skyline full of solarpunk-like small skyscraper-esque buildings. I make my living as an artist and artisan selling a unique mix of oil and mixed media paintings, ceramic and earthen wares, crochet, knit and embroidered goods. I spend my mornings reading by the seaside as the sun rises, drinking coffee. I work on my latest commissioned piece in my lush garden until around 10:30 am. Then I head to a local seaside café for brunch with my family. After brunch I head back home to gather my hand-made artisan goods and then head to the local park to sell my goods. After talking with customers and tourists and selling out of my product I head back home to meet friends for an afternoon casual tea and charcuterie on my front porch. After my friends leave, I tidy up around my home and tend to all my plants, before showering and getting dressed. I choose an above the knee flared knit skirt with a mix of colors, patterns, and full of floral appliques. I choose a slightly relaxed linen peasant top with bishop sleeves and embroidery all over. I can''t decide between a straw boater hat or newsie hat with silk flowers but end up wearing a silk bandana with butterflies instead. I grab my crossbody satchel and leather fisherman sandals and head outside. I walk alongside the beach and seaside bluffs to the city center passing all my favorite theaters, museums, and restaurants. I meet a friend at a local university for an evening lecture on the influence of solarpunk philosophies in modern architecture. After the lecture, we heading to an outdoor beer garden to have a drink, appetizers, and discuss the ideas in the lecture. I head home grateful for the evening summer breeze and the moon light dancing on the sea waves. I wind down with one of my favorite shows and head to bed to get plenty of sleep because tomorrow is Monday (my weekend), and my daughter and I are going hiking, waterfall hunting, and kayaking in a nearby tropical mountain park.
I put some prompts related to my fantasy in chat gpt and it made me a series of images! It matches fairly closely to something I imagined and I just made a mini mood board collage with them. If end up choosing my prompts for a video, I can happily send you the mood board if that is helpful! 🙂

This is exactly what I needed in my life! I feel like I was on a path towards my dream style, but along the way, I found the advice of all these professional stylists which indicated that my vision wouldn't look good on me (which I agree with to some extent). Just recently, I've started to try and integrate what had been my dream style with clothes that I actually feel beautiful in.
Here's my submission for your next planned video: I'm a Kibbe romantic with romantic, ingenue, and classic essence (in that order), and a true summer with a preference for the lighter and darker ends of the palette (deep teal is my favorite color). My fantasy style is what I call "rustic mid-century English countess." So there's a lot of influences from English country fashion (tweed! knitwear! boots!), with a mix of refinement and ruggedness, as well as influences from the 30's through the 70's. I work from home so my most frequently worn style is polished from the waist up with comfy bottoms. I'm also a volunteer usher at a theater, where I need professional, but not attention-grabbing clothes, and nothing noisy or reflective. And of course I love long walks in the woods in an area with changeable weather.
I wish you all the best, Gabi, and thanks so much for your invaluable guidance!

Hi Gabrielle. From all RUclipsrs, and generally fashion expertes, I think you are the most genuine. I’m a designer and your methods and words resonate with the true will of helping people with solid fundamentals, which I believe design is. After that, I'd like to be considered!
    - Kibbe: Soft Gamine
    - Season: True Spring flowing Light (means that I wear the softer and lighter colors of True Spring and the brightest and warmer colors of Light)
    - Essence: Ingenue, Romantic, Gamine
    - Style statements: Clean cuts, Luna Lovegood, happy girl but not childish.
    - My fantasy: The crafty, playful girl stereotype but refined and reliable. I do embroidery and sewing and I like to incorporate my works in my wardrobe, but it could easily flow into bohemian, which I hate and doesn’t fit well with my Soft gamine shapes, which I love to fully embrace. My ingenue essence is very strong and with a playful and whimsical fantasy, it’s very risky to be perceived too childish (I'm 30y/o and people already think I'm 18/20). I really like a bit of sparkle for the evenings with make-up and accessories, with pink, lilacs and greens.
    - Outfit idea: Every day, not too formal office, walks in Tuscanian cities (I live in one of them, the streets are very irregular and there are many climbs and descents), walks in nature, relaxed evenings with close friends.

Gabrielle! I really enjoy your videos, and especially these ones about finding you own style. I appreciate that you propose exercises and insightful questions to us, so we can apply the knowledge to our own personal situations! You make it fun and with lots of examples, which makes it easier to assimilate.
Anyway, by thinking about this, I have come to terms with my main fantasy: "English University Teacher teaching in Paris," sounds absurd but I'm still working on it 😂

This was such a great video! I would love my summary to be considered!
    Kitchener: Natural, Romantic
    Kibbe: Soft Natural
    Colour Season: Warm Spring
Style Statement: Free & Romantic Intellectual
Fantasy Style Goals: seaside cottage- lovingly restored, antiques and bookseller, overflowing bookshelves, steaming cups of tea, a cozy cat, handmade quilts, lush vibrancy and toastiness of colours after a rainstorm or when beside a wood fire, stained glass leaded windows. Suggestive without being overtly sexy.
Core style memories: Evelyn O’Connoll (the mummy 1999, this is the main one), Marilyn Monroe (specifically and only- Banff national park photoshoot, river of no return casual era).
Outfit ideas: gardening/yardwork, loungewear, casual errands, seasonal work outfits (summer in particular- winter is easier for me)

Fantasy style goals: Tilda Swinton + Iris Apfel with a touch of Stanford Blatch - working artist, trend avoider, bold and colourful. Urban but not city, art galleries not nightclubs, beaches not bars.
    Style statement: Striking Creative
Outfit ideas: weekend catchup with friends, working at a creative office, going out to an orchestral concert or play, weekend errand run, art gallery trip.

I always love your practical examples. May I offer my own style parameters:
    Kibbe: Flamboyant natural
Essences: classic + dramatic, sprinkle of something more feminine
    Colour season: Dark autumn
For the past years my style goal has been "gender bending space pirate" and I still stand by it.
I like combining practical, utilitarian and comfortable attributes with happy nonconformity. I feel drawn to cyberpunk and solarpunk aesthetics in an equal measure as art deco and menswear inspired sharply tailored clothing from the early 20th century.
I need clothes for these activities: Walking the dog, Working from home including video calls, Doctors appointments, Train travel ...and I have a class reunion coming up
PS: I burst out laughing when you mentioned aliens as an almost anti example for an aesthetic. I am that person that is so out there that you thought they wouldn't exist. No no, I'm here. That's why I felt compelled to write here to become one of your future examples.

Just over halfway when commenting this and see the section about the style you did for a long time but required so much. I had the same with 40s/50s style fashion. I wore it for almost a decade but the amount of effort for me was insane! Hair, make up, undergarments the whole lot to get the look but it always felt like it just wasn't quite right! Still absolutely love it now and admire Miss BeeTownsend who does an amazing job and it suits her so well. For me I find I tend to want to dress vintage when things are tough, that whole trying to get back to past to a supposed easier time. I'm now finding my style fantasy is more like a boho beachy vibe with classic elements - this just becomes a bit tricky in the freezing cold winter we have

    • @purrgundy
      @purrgundy 7 месяцев назад +1

Love her ❤️ it sounds like your 40s/50s elements can also resonate with classic essence, so it's a good way to find that balance of relaxed seaside and vintage glamour.

    • @Gabriellearrudadesign
      @Gabriellearrudadesign  7 месяцев назад +1

Yes, it required so much mental effort to make those looks feel complete for me. I think coming to a point where you can admire it, love it is wonderful, especially when you find your own style that more authentically speaks to you. I'll always adore Anna Karina and Brigette Bardot, but they just aren't the right style matches for me, different energy. I love that you're exploring boho with classic, that sounds like it could take you in a lot of cool directions!

    • @ZelB06
      @ZelB06 6 месяцев назад

@@purrgundyyes I agree. The main thing that kinda I struggled with was the curling of my hair to fit the look. I mastered how to do it but it took daily effort as my hair is not naturally curly, it's straight with a wave and super thick so took ages to put in rollers or curl! It was fine before I had children as I had more than 45mins to get ready 😂 but now nope however I absolutely love full skirts and not a fan of straight skirts at all which I can add into my fantasy self but make them midi length and not circle skirts more gathered or tiered and be able to straighten my hair or leave it natural

    • @ZelB06
      @ZelB06 6 месяцев назад +1

@@Gabriellearrudadesignthank you! Yes definitely and like you the style icons from those ears are literally nothing like me as I'm tall with vertical and somewhere between a FN and D but with classic/gamine features so I could encompass straight symmetrical long hair with lots of bright colours in beautiful dresses with a good weight to them about midi the full length that can be worn when the weather is sunny and warm or with boots and thick knits in the winter and team some of these with some classic pieces such as smart coats that are extra long 😊

I just wanted to say a big thank you. It's taken me almost all day, but I've just finished the style worksheet but it was worth the time to do it properly, I had my colours analysed a couple of weeks ago, and it was a bit of a surprise - but also, so many things 'suddenly' made sense. Happy to say, I have most of the wardrobe I need already, but I need to edit stuff getting in the way of living my fantasy'. I'm closer than I thought. Now I have a new take on my colours, the workbook and the Pinterest, and tomorrow start editing. I've decided to leave black even though I'm Bright Spring since 'beatnik' is one of my style inspirations. Thank you most of all for being you.

:o blessed with not only an upload but a podcast!? yessssssssssssss this is awesome
I'm actually really glad you started out with a definition, because I had such the wrong idea when the concept was originally brought up. Glad to see it was way different to what I thought :) also that dark ethereal look at 30:00 or so is killer; really speaks to my vibe personally and I love seeing this combo. I've been gearing up for exploring how to have courage to actually embrace some styles and then mash different concepts together, and then figure out how to make versions that are appropriate for the office, and other events.
Just want to ad one thing though: for the folk who have disabilities, chronic health issues, struggles with wonky mental health and/or otherwise have innate demands on their energy (low spoons) - i'm cheering for you. take care of your needs first, I absolutely believe that you will arrive at the conclusions you need to about style eventually. Give yourself your own timeline for exploring, and definitely pause a little extra if possible to check why you're not inspired to deep-dive on something. These pauses are great chances to explore differences between specific disinterest and depression-induced anhedonia, for example. You got this :)

    • @Gabriellearrudadesign
      @Gabriellearrudadesign  7 месяцев назад +2

10000%, I appreciate your note! Taking care of your health and giving yourself space and time is the foundation to which all the other things are built upon. And this is about connecting to yourself in a deep and meaningful way, so if you (or anyone) are not feeling like tackling that, that is ok. It may sound cheesy but I think learning to meet yourself where you are each day is key. I'm glad you liked that outfit, I think sometimes we can self-limit what we think is possible and I definitely encourage you (when you're ready/able) to pursue your own mash up of interests. That's when the uniqueness of you can really come to the surface. Also, hope you enjoy the podcast!!

I really appreciate this video. The level of obsession you're talking about is my natural homeland and you madbe your example of a more out-there fantasy about aliens feel totally welcome. I usually do feel like my interests are more fringe than people making this kind of content are expecting, but in this video I didn't even feel like all the reassurance was needed, I guess because the idea of a fantasy was so centered, or because I'd already been doing these things with my own fantastical fantasies. I always find all the "YOU" and authenticity language unpleasant, because that's not my fantasy!!! but here it feels a lot more welcoming than I'm used to on other channels, like there's more of a real sense that everything is optional if you want it to be/you're not bothered or here to correct people if they do something that isn't "allowed" :) I don't have a history with your own content like that, but the impressive generosity of designing all these different outfits for some of your viewers makes me want to subscribe and come back (whether or not I happen to be one of the the lucky viewers). It makes it seem like you read all the comments, or a lot of them, and listen to your viewers.
    Kibbe: FG
Essences: I always saw myself as "gamine body, dramatic face" and thought I had to pick three between ethereal and natural essence, but according to your chart I don't have much dramatic essence at all and would be gamine>ethereal>natural? Could that combo cause a dramatic-like impression? I love flowy boho vibes but recs for anything with natural are often NOT made for my body. I use sleeveless tops and split and asymmetrical skirts to get that look without overwhelming me.
(I am not the best with faces, but to give a comparison, people say I look like Millie Bobby Brown, but I have more of a big wide funky nose)
    Color season: soft autumn
Style Statement: sophisticated otherworldly: someone who could be from a different part of space and time, but can be taken seriously, with a dash or more of practicality, not a fun cloud cuckoolander
Fantasy Style Goals: mysterious art deco steampunk
Outfit ideas: date, do-what-I-want hiking :), outdoor winter, indoor winter, office, or anything is fine!

Ever since my chilldhood I have been having three creatures, I identify myself a lot. A butterfly, a cat and a fairy. And since my quest for personal style began, those creatures have influenced my style journey. And in a way, I'm pretty deep there I think. Maybe after doing those worksheets I have clearer vision of how to go there.

You've put a lot of work into making it possible to build a fluid but coherent look based on deeply felt inspiration. Whatever you do next, I'm interested! PS - edited to add: I plan to develop my personal style on the concept of "lunarpunk" - which fortunately is fairly undefined compared with "solarpunk", and have it work for me as a GenX woman working in economic activism. I would also be very grateful to be considered in the next video! These are my style parameters:
    Kibbe: Flamboyant Gamine
    Kitchener: 45% ethereal, 20% gamine, 20% ingenue, 15% natural
Season: winter cool, but I'm not very concerned with this one as long as my outfit is cool or neutral
My aesthetic: I resonate with academia aesthetic and I tend to dress mostly androginous. I often incorporate edgy shoes and more feminine details near my face. I like to describe it as the soul of an alternative archaeologist from the late XIX- early XX century living in the body of a modern student
Fantasy style goals: I would love to incorporate some ethereal vibes to my current style, something Galadriel from Lotr would wear if she was an archaeology university student
Outfits ideas: going to university to attend classes, going to university to work on dusty archaeological materials, going out with my friends and summer outfits (I struggle a lot with building something that doesn't feel boring during this season)

What a beautiful, thoughtful way to present the fashion version of “worker smarter, not harder” and “put your finite energy to that which will produce your best results.”
Someone earlier in the comments requested a tweak on the 5 outfits for “your fantastique life” with a weather seasonal shift, and I think that is a speed bump/hiccup I share.
I’m mostly natural with sprinklings of romantic and ethereal, and taking my summer wardrobe into winter (Gulf Coast winter) gives me … pause. T-shirts are too dressed down, button downs are only for sun protection, and I’m still looking for me in the winter blahs. Now I have a couple more ideas to extend into that search. Thank you Gabrielle.

This is my favorite video so far, and I have loved them all. You have such a gift for what you do Gabrielle! I’d be honored to be chosen for this exercise ☺️
    Kibbe: FN
Essences: Natural and ethereal…still figuring out a third essence but I think it’s a kiss of dramatic
    Color season: True Autumn
    Style statement: warm, feminine, effortless
    Style parameters: comfortable, versatile, fashionable
Fantasy style: 70s folk singer/songwriter + earth goddess + world traveler
She’s a creative and feels best when she’s at home, which is cozy, full of light, and has views of nature and water. She spends her days writing, singing, listening to music, cooking, and caring for her family. When she isn’t home she enjoys exploring museums, seeing concerts, or traveling (preferring beachy destinations). She is independent and loves her freedom but is also strongly family oriented.
Outfit needs: brunch with friends, casual errands, summer vacation with lots of walking and exploring

I find the style videos where you suggest outfits to fit occasions, colour palettes, and essences etc. to be both interesting and helpful. Please keep doing those. I don't know if my style fantasy is a fairy tale but I want to dress like I'm a successful World travelling artist who paints on location, art journals, and writes for a living (even though I'm retired). Now I'm going to download the worksheets and see if it actually works for me....

That is some helpful food for thought - as always :) I do like the long format a lot, btw, I think you manage to keep a good balance between necessary detail and not going too overboard (and no need for speedups, imho ;) ).
If you'd like to consider them for your upcoming video, here are my parameters:
    Kibbe: FN
Kitchener: mainly dramatic and natural, with more dramatic
Colour Season: Winter (I'm unsure of the subtype, but probably True)
Style Statement: Practical, Approachable Edge/Grown-up Metalhead
Fantasy Life: she is the herbal witch/healer/wise woman of a small village, tending to her garden, the people and her animals, wandering the woods, observing the constellations, regularly conversing with the mages and witches in nearby settlements. She is serene but a force to be reconned with. All somewhat subtle, think Earthsea and the Avalon books.
More realistic fantasy: we have our own property in a village near the cities we work in, the kids are a little older, I have time to work in our garden, maybe we even have a few chickens. I still work as a data scientist/researcher, but maybe have switched employers to someone closer to industry/actually getting helpful things on the market. I still continue to fit some BJJ and reading/knitting/sewing/something creatively craftsy into the mix.
Simone Simons is a huge inspiration for me when it comes to translating "edge" to "everyday" although we be quite different parameters/tastes.
I'd like to see outfits for playground with little kids (4 and 1,5) that allow me to climb/run/jump around (I can climb in most dresses I want to add), office look (data scientist, no real dress code, but I try to aim for smart casual) and/or date look that has some sexiness/sensuality without leaning (overly) romantic or having a lot of cleavage (annoys me on dates)
Best wishes and looking forward to your next video (regardless of being featured or not, I really just am looking forward to it because I find the format so helpful) , Kate

Oooh I loved this Gabby. Each video of yours is like a course, I'm also a member of your course but yet to explore it fully. My Fantasy Style is Angelic (Spiritual) Guide, fully Self Employed who works from home and films Spiritual videos in nature, but I'm also an opera singer. I'm brown (Indian, if that matters) and my Kitchener essences are Classic, Ingenue and Romantic (probably some gamine in there too). Body type is Theatrical Romantic. Colour season: Bright Winter. I love wearing dresses and the combination of track pants or loose haroum style pants with a soft cropped blazer and heels. I also wear ethnic Indian clothing. I'd love to live somewhere that's full of nature but is a city where I can still perform as an opera singer. 5 Situations: Exploring nature and filming in a nature spot there, Taking online sessions at home, Leading a Spirituality workshop, Rehearsing or performing opera, Chilling at home with my man and my cat.

Gaby!!! You are a genius. I want so much success for you! I hope you get that European property!!!
It's funny, around the time I did my personal style map following your advice, I had a similar eureka of "oh this one specific thing is the nexus of all my disparate interests", *and* had a similar experience of realizing an adjacent style i loved a lot was one that took a lot of work for me to achieve and i didn't really like how i looked when i wore it. But also i recently rewatched a formative music video from my college years that made me originally want to get into white dresses, and realized that "get into white dresses" has been a style goal for me every spring/summer for *fifteen years* without me making any headway.
I'm not entirely through the video yet so maybe you address this but i have come to feel that your personal style forces you to re-evaluate your self-image. I think in some ways, i pursued the uncomfortable style (while neglecting style basics i love more and are more "me") because I don't like myself very much, so i have to grapple with that and the effect it has on my bad shopping habits. Taking the long road to coming to the same conclusions everyone else has come to already about how we overconsume because capitalism makes us think we can solve our psychological issues with material goods.
I actually need to refine my personal style map but checking things i'm interested in against my map, the term i used to describe my dream style (i fell in love with your phrase "free beauty" and was trying to come up with something that similarly summed up the whole vibe - mine is "undercover princess" which is a lot less grand sounding but it is inspiring for me/makes sense in context), and the three words i have on the map, remains one of the most useful ways to keep my style in the forefront of my mind when i need to shop. So I am looking forward to doing your fantasy style worksheets in concordance with redoing my style map!

Thank you so much for the kind words, they really mean a lot to me! And I absolutely agree our connection to self-image has a huge impact on personal style and how we use our styles. It's so cool that you made the connection to "get into white dresses" and saw the roots of the inspiration and how it was a natural style progression (but realizing that make it even more prominent!). Undercover Princess sounds amazing, I love it! I hope you like these new worksheets and they can help you find that future fantasy direction!!

Oh I love the videos where you work through real world examples. I’m currently working through so much of your personal style building content and activities and recently created a mind-map/flowchart of what has influenced my French girl / coastal grandmother meets resortwear / classic casual style🩵
    Kibbe: Soft Classic
Kitchener: Classic, Natural & Yin (Romantic/Ingenue)
Colour Season: Soft Summer (my palette is all blues, whites, taupe, grey, charcoal, seafoam and raspberry)
    Style Statement: timeless, feminine, dreamy
Fantasy Style/Life: is the year split between homes in Australia and the Mediterranean 🌊 Elegant yet comfortable coastal vibes for small towns and cities. Classic pieces with texture and feminine details. Also, I run cold so clothes/layering in natural fibres is important.

    Kibbe: Dramatic classic
Essences: classic + dramatic+ a little bit of ingenue
    Season: winter
My aesthetic: Lucius Malfoy + Eva Green vibes, but in the modern days)
I would describe my future wardrobe as: casually regal and defined, with a hint of dark queen vibes. But like I didn`t put much effort into it.
    Outfit ideas:
    1. potential outfit for a summer outdoor music festival. I attend one or two almost every year and really struggle with this.

SOOO happy for a new video 🖤 I would love to be considered & see what you come up with!
    Kibbe: Flamboyant Natural
    Essences: Natural, Dramatic, Romantic
Colour season: Dark Summer (using 16)
    Style adjectives: Relaxed, Edgy, Free
Fantasy style: “Rockstar girlfriend” (hate the name), kinda grunge, touch of Kate Moss
(I’m also working on other fantasies such as boho meets witch in the woods with touch of ethereal style & a general sense of 70s (including men’s) style)
Situations: job interview, date night, hang out with friends, active wear, wedding (guest)
I just want to say thank you for all the effort you put into these videos- the scripting and editing must take FOREVER, and it’s so creative and fun. Thank you 🧝🏽‍♀️⚡️

I really love the video ideas you suggested and would like to be considered if you're still adding to your list 😊
My parameters are true summer, soft classic, with ethereal, classic, and natural essences. I tend to lean a bit delicate, minimal, and slightly casual in my outfits.
My fantasy is a lotr elf noble woman who is also a dancer and watercolour artist, who lives in the forest surrounded by animals.
The situations I'd like outfits for would be:
    1. Office work (polished/smart but not super formal)
    2. Walks in the countryside/volunteering with animals
    3. Lounging at home
    4. Meeting friends for coffee/lunch
    5. Dance classes
I have an extra one too if it's ok to ask 😅 I live in the UK but am hopefullyyy going to Hawaii for 2 weeks this summer 🤞🤞. I'm very pale and burn instantly in the sun, so while no amount of styling will ever make me look like I belong on a tropical island, I'd be really grateful for any advice on dressing in a way that still feels authentic to me in a completely different climate than I'm used to.
Thanks again Gabi and I look forward to listening to your podcast!

Color season: bright spring with high contrast, but I only wear a few colors usually (black, ivory, coral, burgundy, lavender/lilac, turquoise, British racing green, gold, nude/beige for shoes/purse sometimes)
Style statement: QE II in 1950s-1960s, Blair Waldorf and Jenny Humphrey from Gossip Girl (upper east side/1950s+black leather skirt/shorts: I’m having trouble combining these two)
