In the passenger window you look sideways, so you know the real speed. Here you're looking far ahead and you sit very high up. Still that A380 is a magnificent bird. It's landing speed is impressively slow for such a huge, heavy plane.
They do, but to be fair, a New York City train driver during rush hour has 2,000 lives in their hands. A cruise ship Captain has 5,000 lives in their hands. Modern machines are just insanely safe we don't even think about it anymore.
At Qatar Airways all the F/O have 2 stripes until they reach 2500h or 3000h;) After 2500h or 3000h they are called senior first officers until the captainship..
They don't have the same suspension systems as vehicles, the lights protrude from the surfaces of the runways and taxiways, so that's why you hear and feel the bumps more

It's cool to see the whole approach, landing AND taxi to the gate from this perspective! Surprisingly the A380 seems as nimble as the smaller airliners.
I believe all the Airbus models are designed with essentially the same cockpit layout and flight characteristics, so it's a fairly easy transition from flying one type to another.
It was my dream to become a pilot as a kid, i'm 29 now a bit too late to chase the dream. I flight sim and watch these wonderful men and women fly these pieces of art ♥️ Hope all of you will keep your jobs in these tough times
@@rashannejad1013 Rubbish. People become pilots in their 30s even early 40s. The earlier the better of course, but still certainly possible. It is a myth that must become a pilot by 25. Of course other factors like market demand and self-finance play big roles.

To have progressed from the work of bicycle repairmen Wilbur & Orville Wright to a modern behemoth like an A380, the sheer complexity of layers & layers of engineering in umpteen disciplines & making it all work like clockwork at least most of the times. I wish the Wright brothers were here to find out what they essentially led us all into!

@@leothekitten9810 regretting they won’t be able to. They’ve Rembrandt destroyed the construction jigs and replaced the line with A320 production. They’d effectively have to start from scratch again. This would be too costly. Maybe in a few decades through need they will develop a new large aircraft program again.

if you'd like to, I'd suggest going for a trial flight with an instructor at any of your closest flight centre. Almost all the ones I know are very keen and patient at showing the workings of a plane and ensuring the passengers are comfortable. Best of Luck!
Would you believe I am scared of heights but I learnt to fly 20 years ago. There's nothing wrong with having a healthy respect for flying as it's an alien environment to us who aren't born with wings attached. It's when you become complacent you drop your guard and that's the dangerous time. Take a trial lesson and you'll be surprised. Happy flying 😁

Cool aircraft, years ago i joined emirates a380 flight from sin to mel as pax, it’s amazing. And they made go around at mel. I didn’t know the reason for going around but I enjoy it. Safe flight Capt, FO and all crews 👍

William Cox First officers in Qatar have two bars until they pass 2500 hours on type I believe and then become senior first officers where they then get three bars. It’s the same in Ryanair, when you do your type rating and join the line you have 2 bars and then after i think 500 hours you get three bars and become a senior first officer :)
Time and again, I am amazed how you maneuver and land that aircraft with ease. Especially with such a small windshield and no rearview mirrors. You must get (all) the ladies!
WhisperJet America I actually don’t fly for a living, I’m an engineer on these things though. The auto flight computer does most of the work these days, but it isn’t has hard as it looks. As for the ladies, me being Gay I unfortunately get them hassling me terribly for that reason. They think they can convert me. No chance. :)

@@horacesmart3600 Because the crew are in ultimate control of the flightpath, should be "mentally" flying the aircraft in the terminal area, and need to be ready to take over manually if necessary. Autoflight systems are a tool for the crew to use to fly the aircraft, not to replace them. They're not "pretending" to fly - they are flying. In addition moving the thrust levers to TO/GA is how you command the flight guidance to go to go around mode, so there's another reason to be holding the thrust levers with the AP on during approach. Maybe you're one of those people who doesn't know anything about aviation?
i have been watching a lot of crash investigation videos lately. The number of things that a pilot can do wrong is just staggering. And on the other hand i have also been playing MS Flight sim lately. And man is it hard to control a plane in that game. and its just a bloody sim with minimal input requirements compared to real flying. It is nerve wracking to just watch these landings knowing how hard it is to control and how many things can go wrong. Bless all the pilots who land us safely.
landing gear on a air frame of that size and speed creates incredible amounts of airflow resistance. At those speeds it can be loud, but once slowed to final approach speeds the noise reduces slightly.

Well thats A LOT of mass going really fast over tarmac/asphalt....which even if new and smooth will have lots of elevation imperfections
Let's take a moment to appreciate the technology which makes it possible that such a good-loocking and heavy plane is able to fly through the sky.
The principle is pretty simple with air pressure etc, but applying that to a A380 that weighs over 200 tons I think? Now that's the hard part lol.

it's not so much the plane itself but rather lose things such as sun visors, bags, drinks, the jump seat etc.
Also it is what the runway looks like.... bumpy and with some hole in it.... or lights....
Think of all the fittings inside an A380. it's basically a flying cruise ship.
