King Of Finland More like the entire world, everyone is corrupt. Just like in your country Finland where your citizens were stripped of their basic right to defend themselves, making it possible for the government to control the citizens, therefore giving themselves the power to restrict or promote what you can and cannot buy.
So, companies that SELL guns to people who obviously support gun rights (evident in ones purchase) donates money to a gun rights organization ? Sounds rather American to me.
Its fairly recently an American past time. We used to have gun safety lessons in school & bring rifles to play with after we got out. No one ever got shot. If kids fought, they didn't even think to grab their guns, they duked it out. The media & music glorifies gangs, shooting each other & other illegal things.. until someone or a bunch of someones actually gets shot. Then they cry for gun control, when all mass shootings except for one took place in a gun free zone. Columbine happened during the Clinton era "assault" weapons ban with banned firearms in a school where guns were not allowed on the premises. You can draw whatever conclusion you'd like to about that

I don’t know why gun enthusiasts get so caught up with assault rifles. They’re overrated and incredibly overpriced. Handguns and shotguns are more than enough for home defense and personal defense. And there numerous hunting rifles that are much much more practical for hunting than assault rifles. I owned an assault rifle when I was in the military (active duty). I felt I wasn’t shooting enough on the army’s dime so I bought an AR-15 to shoot on my own time, which was great. Once I shot on my own time, I scored expert 40/40 nearly everytime. Once I got out of the army, I sold my assault rifle to to a gun store a year later. I had no use for it anymore. I still buy guns but just handguns and shotguns. There just is no real reason for AR-15s to be a commercially sold firearm. It should be supplied to law enforcement and military only (well, not ARs but M-4s)

@anguschandler4482 correct. However changing any of the amendments is incredibly difficult and changing of any of the original 10 amendments has never been done. It requires a super majority in Congress and 3/4 of the states and the president to all agree. It's basically impossible.
You can’t take guns from criminals - it would’ve been done already if you could. You can only take guns from people who legally own them. So, if you were to ban all guns, you would only be taking away innocent peoples ability to protect themselves. End of argument.

The founders were very clear about what kinds of weapons were to be protected: The power of the sword, say the minority..., is in the hands of Congress. My friends and countrymen, it is not so, for The powers of the sword are in the hands of the yeomanry of America from sixteen to sixty. The militia of these free commonwealths, entitled and accustomed to their arms, when compared with any possible army, must be tremendous and irresistible. Who are the militia? Are they not ourselves? Is it feared, then, that we shall turn our arms each man against his own bosom. Congress has no power to disarm the militia. Their swords and every terrible implement of the soldier are the birthright of Americans. --Tench Coxe, Pennsylvania Gazette, Feb. 20, 1788.
No they didnt make it broad. What do you not understand about "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed"? Shall not be infringed is very clear. The purpose of it was to make sure that the people are always more powerful than the govt, not hunting. Look up the founding father's quotes and documents if you want evidence. The liberal media tries to suppress history. The fact that we cant own the same weapons as the govt is already unconstitutional.
Ok so if everyone that can legally own a firearm owns and carries a firearm, who is the bad guy, who can't legally own a firearm, going to rob ? Like. Idk about you but if I'm wanting to rob someone I'm gonna go with the guy that's not carrying a .45.
And the reason the gun debate is so screwed is because each state is different in its gun laws. and the Las Vegas shooter legally bought two firearms while he was on a FBI watchlist the FBI said he was good to buy a gun while he was wanted And I do agree that money is a huge factor in the gun debate and tilts it a lot I don’t like the nra but please take these into consideration

NRA is a terrorist group. They are exactly like Taliban or IS - rely on age old laws, do not allow to change laws, make laws permanent and make human life horrible. Like Taliban or IS they create terror in public spaces and gatherings.
The NRA also has a history of promoting gun control to prevent black people from carrying firearms. They don't care about civil rights. They care about money. People need to understand that regardless of where they stand on the issue.

I think Vox is wrong to call the NRA a political lobbying group. $20M-$30M is pitifully small in the lobbying world. The power of the NRA is the volume of votes it can influence. It's more accurate to call the NRA a civil rights group because it's representing millions of voters who care about their 2nd amendment right. If the NRA didn't have the millions of voters who trust them then the politicians wouldn't care a bit about the $20M-$30M
Dark Shadow Storm yes discrimination based on age is a civil rights issue. Denying a constitutional right to 18-20 year old's based on the action of one 19 yr old is ridiculous. What next? Keep Muslims from buying rifles because san Bernardino of pulse nightclub shooting.
Stella Moreno the problem is that if you enjoy these kinds of videos, you must be somewhat leftist. That’s not a dig at you or anyone else, it’s a fact. Vox is extremely leftist in their views, so no one that disagrees with their views will enjoy the video. That’s just a fact and that’s the problem. “Too much hate” comes from people annoyed that vox almost never uses accurate, bipartisan facts and examples, instead, they demonize the right and idolize leftist views, representatives and companies.
Xplosives, Yeah, I dislike the fact that so few news outlets provide multiple sides to a story. Thats why I dislike so many large news cooperations, (in north america atleast.) Vox also reports about important issues such as climate change, while many other news outlets don’t mention it or even deny it, and exist purley to mock, and agrivate people on the left side of the political spectrum. No political leaning is “better” but I find that these days, religion, climate change, and even basic things like equal rights for LGBTQ people, is split between the right and the left. Climate change for example is an easy to explain, unbelievably important part of our world now days but it seems that only left leaning poloticians acknowledge it’s existance.

Yea, think of it like this. You live in a small town and a roberry goes down with the gunman killing many people. Wouldn't you want to buy guns to now protect yourself from this new threat?
No it isn't a significant message at all. It is because a lot of people on the left openly say banning all firearms. Its scare buying. That's it. It isn't a bunch of people buying guns because they want to emulate mass shootings. Anyone who thinks that normal gun owners of America are okay with mass shootings lives in a fantasy world. But people will be damned if they try to take stuff away. Think of it like this, the right to bear arms is a civil right and a constitutional right. It's also one of the only rights that is constantly under assault and being further and further pushed back and infringed. Gun owners are sick of it and they want more rights to things they think are cool and interesting and tbh, they have a constitutional right to them. Unless that changes gun control will never stop and there will always be a side pushing for more rights.
It does, We the people will take arms, because what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance...
Gun control supporters and apologists refuse to look at the bigger picture: There are 30,000 gun related deaths per year by firearms, and this number is not disputed. U.S. population 324,059,091 as of Wednesday, June 22, 2016. Do the math: 0.00925% of the population dies from gun related actions each year. Statistically speaking, this is insignificant! What is never told, however, is a breakdown of those 30,000 deaths, to put them in perspective as compared to other causes of death: • 65% of those deaths are by suicide which would never be prevented by gun laws • 15% are by law enforcement in the line of duty and justified • 17% are through criminal activity, gang and drug related or mentally ill persons - gun violence • 3% are accidental discharge deaths So technically, "gun violence" is not 30,000 annually, but drops to 5,100. Still too many? Well, first, how are those deaths spanned across the nation? • 480 homicides (9.4%) were in Chicago • 344 homicides (6.7%) were in Baltimore • 333 homicides (6.5%) were in Detroit • 119 homicides (2.3%) were in Washington D.C. (a 54% increase over prior years) So basically, 25% of all gun crime happens in just 4 cities. All 4 of those cities have strict gun laws, so it is not the lack of law that is the root cause. This basically leaves 3,825 for the entire rest of the nation, or about 75 deaths per state. That is an average because some States have much higher rates than others. For example, California had 1,169 and Alabama had 1. Now, who has the strictest gun laws by far? California, of course, but understand, so it is not guns causing this. It is a crime rate spawned by the number of criminal persons residing in those cities and states. So if all cities and states are not created equally, then there must be something other than the tool causing the gun deaths. Are 5,100 deaths per year horrific? How about in comparison to other deaths? All death is sad and especially so when it is in the commission of a crime but that is the nature of crime. Robbery, death, rape, assault all is done by criminals and thinking that criminals will obey laws is ludicrous. That's why they are criminals. But what about other deaths each year? • 40,000+ die from a drug overdose-THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THAT! • 36,000 people die per year from the flu, far exceeding the criminal gun deaths • 34,000 people die per year in traffic fatalities(exceeding gun deaths even if you include suicide) Now it gets good: • 200,000+ people die each year (and growing) from preventable medical errors. You are safer in Chicago than when you are in a hospital! • 710,000 people die per year from heart disease. It’s time to stop the double cheeseburgers! So what is the point? If Obama and the anti-gun movement focused their attention on heart disease, even a 10% decrease in cardiac deaths would save twice the number of lives annually of all gun-related deaths (including suicide, law enforcement, etc.). A 10% reduction in medical errors would be 66% of the total gun deaths or 4 times the number of criminal homicides......Simple, easily preventable 10% reductions! So you have to ask yourself, in the grand scheme of things, why the focus on guns? It's pretty simple.: Taking away guns gives control to governments. The founders of the USA knew that regardless of the form of government, those in power may become corrupt and seek to rule as the British did by trying to disarm the populace of the colonies. It is not difficult to understand that a disarmed populace is a controlled populace. Thus, the second amendment was proudly and boldly included in the U.S. Constitution. Americans must preserve it at all costs. So the next time someone tries to tell you that gun control is about saving lives, look at these facts and remember these words from Noah Webster: "Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed, as they are in almost every kingdom in Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword, because the whole body of the people are armed and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops that can be, on any pretense, raised in the United States. A military force at the command of Congress can execute no laws, but such as the people perceive to be just and constitutional; for they will possess the power." Remember, when it comes to "gun control," the important word is “control," not “gun." Here are some unbiased sources: ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2013/crime-in-the-u.s.-2013/tables/1tabledatadecoverviewpdf www.pewsocialtrends.org/2013/05/07/gun-homicide-rate-down-49-since-1993-peak-public-unaware/
30000 a year stills seems pretty big to me comparing it to something else doesn't mean that those 30000 people are insignificant. This is just another example of false equivalence. Yes I see that there are bigger problems like heart disease but it seems like a more natural way to die compared to dying from guns. Also I don't want a world where all my neighbors have guns because sure i will also have a gun to protect myself but intruders, robbers and other criminals can get guns by killing us. which may make us a target. These are the fears I have about guns based on statistics that I'm too lazy to re-locate and cite which state that owning a gun makes you more likely a victim of gun violence.
brandon chan Did you ignore the part about drug overdoses? Banning drugs doesn’t stop that so why would banning guns stop gun violence? Also, 25% of the nation’s gun crime happens in four of the cities with the strictest gun laws.
@@brandonchan5620 your neighbors already own guns. and its not the state that is dangerous, just avoid like 4 cities and your fine, and dont run in a gang. you will be just fine.

Dixie Normas and how can that be? Are Americans just that much more violent then the rest of the world? Cause what you just described is not the case in other western countries, so I would like you to answer as to how come Americans are so eager to kill one another
Dixie Normas Out of 100 mass shooters maybe 10 could build a bomb. Out of the 10 maybe 1 could make a chemical weapon. When you factor in the fact that mass shootings are deadlier than bombs, which are deadlier than chemicals, I would rather there be 1 chemical attack with 2 deaths than 100 mass shootings with 20 deaths each. The point of law is to reduce, not completely prevent. No law is 100% effective. Coconuts kill more people than sharks each year, but do we tear down the shark nets at beaches? Not everyone can build a bomb or chemical weapon, but in the current state, anyone can very easily get a gun. The point of laws is to reduce that number. And if it doesn't completely prevent it? That's still good enough. Again, no law is 100% effective. Drug laws aren't 100% effective, we see overdoses all over the country, but we still have them. Because without them there would be even more. And less is good enough. Just because we can stop all deaths, doesn't mean we shouldn't stop the ones we can.
Dixie Normas jesus christ, nothing you said forms a coherent argument. "Less guns is not gonna solve anything because people will use bombs, or napalm or blabla" YOUR OPINION IS WRONG AND NOT FACTUAL. You're an idiot repeating faulty arguments at nauseum.

And two founding fathers made that prohibition, now who were those founding fathers?, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison. The authors of the Second Amendment
@@TheKnowledgeMan101 A minor point, but I believe the U of Virginia was established in 1819 and not 1824. Students were prohibited from having guns on campus but not guns in general. A student of that age could own a gun at that time, and the prohibition didn't ban guns on campus. It didn't allow students to have guns, but there was no prohibition of faculty and staff having guns on campus. Again, there was no law at the time preventing people that age from owning guns. A rule at a college is not law. The school I went to didn't allow us to chew gum on campus, but there was no law preventing us from chewing gum. He had clearance to shoot at any police ranges with no reservations. His shooting skills astonished anyone around him and especially the police. He squirrel hunted with a revolver and I never saw him miss . One time leaving a police range an officer followed him out and asked him if he was joined up or with the NRA . Dad just replied "No". The officer said " Hank with your skills why wouldn't you join" Dad just dropped his head and "No I'm not interested in the NRA " ,and we walked away. Its fairly recently an American past time. We used to have gun safety lessons in school & bring rifles to play with after we got out. No one ever got shot.
The meaning of the 2nd amendment has already been decided by the Supreme Court. That is why it isn't debated.
The founders were very clear about what kinds of weapons were to be protected:
The power of the sword, say the minority..., is in the hands of Congress.

It does,
We the people will take arms, because what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance...
Gun control supporters and apologists refuse to look at the bigger picture:
There are 30,000 gun related deaths per year by firearms, and this number is not disputed. U.S. population 324,059,091 as of Wednesday, June 22, 2016. Do the math: 0.00925% of the population dies from gun related actions each year. Statistically speaking, this is insignificant! What is never told, however, is a breakdown of those 30,000 deaths, to put them in perspective as compared to other causes of death:
• 65% of those deaths are by suicide which would never be prevented by gun laws
• 15% are by law enforcement in the line of duty and justified
• 17% are through criminal activity, gang and drug related or mentally ill persons - gun violence
• 3% are accidental discharge deaths
So technically, "gun violence" is not 30,000 annually, but drops to 5,100. Still too many? Well, first, how are those deaths spanned across the nation?
• 480 homicides (9.4%) were in Chicago
• 344 homicides (6.7%) were in Baltimore
• 333 homicides (6.5%) were in Detroit
• 119 homicides (2.3%) were in Washington D.C. (a 54% increase over prior years)
So basically, 25% of all gun crime happens in just 4 cities.
• 36,000 people die per year from the flu, far exceeding the criminal gun deaths
• 34,000 people die per year in traffic fatalities(exceeding gun deaths even if you include suicide)
Now it gets good:
• 200,000+ people die each year (and growing) from preventable medical errors.
It's pretty simple.:
Taking away guns gives control to governments.
A military force at the command of Congress can execute no laws, but such as the people perceive to be just and constitutional; for they will possess the power."
Remember, when it comes to "gun control," the important word is “control," not “gun."
Here are some unbiased sources:

www.pewsocialtrends.org/2013/05/07/gun-homicide-rate-down-49-since-1993-peak-public-unaware/

Dixie Normas lol
Dixie Normas jesus christ, nothing you said forms a coherent argument. "Less guns is not gonna solve anything because people will use bombs, or napalm or blabla" YOUR OPINION IS WRONG AND NOT FACTUAL. You're an idiot repeating faulty arguments at nauseum.
Dixie Normas "Getting rid of the tool is not going to help anyone or anything." Literally every single study into that subject disagrees with you.
NRA didn’t come to Kenneth Walker’s defense. Oh right, he’s black.

Yeah, and the people who made that amendment are the same people who supported slavery, didn't give women, blacks, native Americans and non property owning males the right to vote. And also, Thomas Jefferson advocated that the Constitution should be changed every 19 years, because he believed that as America changes, the laws must adopt to the new changes of the country.
And also fun fact: when the University of Virginia opened in 1824, it prohibited firearms to be used and bought into the campuses.
The school could do nothing about our gum chewing away from campus.

Brilliant comparison to big tobacco.
Sir Alfred Lawrence The video did not talk about both tobacco and guns being civil rights. It talked about how the NRA, which is funded by big gun companies, is similar to the tobacco companies who formed the tobacco Institute, as the two groups made up distractions and fake issues to evade the questions of the consumer.
A cigarette is not going to protect me
A a good guy with a guy will
Sir Alfred Lawrence Funny, because the NRA isn't actually a civil rights organization either.
Henry Stax i would too
Tobacco isn't in the Bill of Rights, and it's still legal to use for anyone over 18/21 so it's even less regulated than guns currently are.

My dad was a Sargent in charge of a gun squad in WW2 under Patton. He was an extreme marksman and fought from Normandy through the Hedge row country and all the way to Bastogne. I've never seen anyone more experienced with firearms . He was requested to train snipers and SWAT teams after he got back which he turned down. Dad wasn't fanatical about firearms ,but firearms seem to be everything he was interested in ,and his knowledge of firearms was as good as his shooting skills. Sad to say but he probably was a very good killer. When he was promoted to a Sargent he was given a Thompson, pretty much the same as the AK types or the Auto Killing guns . He turned it down. I was only about 7 years old and I never questioned his opinions about firearms , but I wish I knew the answer or the reason why . I've never joined or will ever join the NRA , but what I know for myself I wouldn't and maybe I know his answer.

rights are subjective. defensive gun use is exceedingly rare, and they ultimately facilitate excess violence and death. when we assume human autonomy and free will, we assume human suffering, but our gun epidemic is causing SO much suffering. at some point, we have to figure out what we value, the lives of our children and police officers, or someones "right" to purchase an assault weapon without a background check. were not trying to take away *your* gun, but we are trying to put legislation in place to prevent mass shootings, death, and violence.
