Their fight in S6 is the fight that divided the community and responsible for the majority of rule changes this season. This fight told us to distinguish the bot and the builder, as Marco said something along the lines of "We want to destroy Witch Doctor, but we respect the team we're great friends"
Marco it's an amazing person indeed. He it's the real heart of the Riobotz team and you can realize how the team changed their attitude compared to the previous season. Nothing against Junior who did his best, but still not being Marco Meggiolaro.
Witch Doctor's Team is cocky. I don't know how many times have I heard them calling the referee for non substantial reasons, while being the one losing (such as "count him down he is not attacking" while they are not moving). It's great that minotaur won, too bad it wasn't a crushing victory.
Agree. It was a good showing of the spirit of this show. People tend to forget it's a fighting entertainment of similar mindset engineers, not a fight between personal enemies!
Great to see people from the two teams embracing at the end and showing good sportsmanship. You have teams like this, and then you have teams like Riptide.
Marco's speech at the end was the most heartwarming thing I've heard in a while, and it was important for the fans to hear that. Good show from both teams!
Both bots had serious damage to their drivetrains at this point. Witch Doctor could move normally, but didn't have much pushing power left. Minotaur could push, but it's left side was barely working.
As always the sportsmanship on display at BattleBots is one of the major highlights for me. Minotaur’s captain going in for the hug at 11:16, the respect shown in a moment of triumph. Stellar on all accounts, well done all.
This was one of the best fights this season, two hard hitters up against each other and Witch Doctor did a ton of damage to Minotaur even though Minotaur won. There was a few photos of Minotaur posted after the fight and the body is just very damaged all around (even the weapon was damage, it was dented to the point that it couldn't spin anymore), that's how freaky Witch Doctor's weapon is (which was turned up to 75% power for this fight)
Also one of the closest fights in bb history imo. I had damage and aggression tied between the two because they both refused to back down and both were clearly limping at the end. But to me Minotaur won control, so I agree with the JD, but what a excellent and close fight
@@ryanbates3319 I think minotaur won in damage, just slightly, mostly because of those mangled forks, otherwise it was pretty equal. Minotaur going for the control points shows they wanted to leave as little to judges decision as possible this time around. Good show.
I died like five times in this battle. It's amazing to see these two finally being capable to fight each other in their prime and with a proper ruleset.
Both bots were probably not even at their prime as both bots were kinda already qualified, Witch Doctor was for sure saving spares for the tournament so they weren't running at 100% using repaired parts instead of new ones. Still, what an evenly matched and amazing battle, glad they finally got the crabwalking rules in there because what happened last time was just sad.
Truly appreciated what he expressed at the end of the video. It's so nice that BattleBots never turned into the pathetic drama mentality of the WWF/WWE wrestling
I’m a Witch Doctor fan but I also hate long forks more than anything so as far as I’m concerned destroying forks gets you points. In the end both bots lost their weapons and had driving issues. If it wasn’t for the forks I would make damage even. Despite only having one functional wheel Minotaur still pushed Witch Doctor around. So they had more control. As far as aggression goes (not counting Daniel’s stare), they were equal. So as much as I wanted Witch Doctor to win, Minotaur destroyed the forks and pushed Witch Doctor around so they won but it was close. I hope they fight again in the semifinals
Both of them did amazing. Daniel showed such extensive knowledge about how much he can turn before the bot lifts, but Mike was able to chase minotaur down a couple times. So many drivers just 'allow' him to disengage most of the time, but witch doctor chased him down several times. 2 great bots, 2 great teams, 2 great drivers and 2 icons for the sport.
I have riptide and Minotaur instead and I'm not surprised they are number 1 and 2 seed respectively. I think Witch Doctor, much like Endgame, doesn't has anything much to do against high reach/dense drum spinners. Actually, I think any of the forked bots has a chance against that kind of spinners. But wedged ones or those with heavy forks (like Sawblaze) does it.
@@TheSuperPlayer707I have riptide beating endgame after significant damage to their drum, riptide shattered their weapon bearings frequently last year and may not be in top condition when facing Witchdoctor. Whilst I have Witchdoctor having minimal damage after fighting jackpot and claw viper.
@@Cobrax_x well, to me that weapon failures in 2021 by part of Riptide were because are the rookie classic problems. I do not see them breaking this year. They look a lot reliable right now and after looking endgame in the ripperoni fight I think a good hit it's enough to breaking them. They may be powerful but to me never let of looking fragile without their wedge. The most of their fights they win because they doesn't receive damage, but their looses are most because a good hit that shaken their internals enough to make them not working properly. Just take a look on their bloodsport fight or even on their Hydra win where a single flip was enough to compromise their driving. In the other hand, I agree Witch Doctor still having a strong chance to defeat Riptide. Mike's driving it's amazing and the mobility of the Witch it's also good enough to dodging potential one hit kills by the so called new school Tombstone. Something I don't see with Endgame which his mobility was always limited to sit back and point their weapon until they see an open, because of the obvious risk of being stuck on the floor due their over exaggerated ground clearance.
The fact that they didn't initially explain the controversy from the previous year shows they understood it did not go down well. I still remember that first controversial match, and I'm glad to hear people spoke up about it on forums even though I am normally not the type that likes that drama. I recall it feeling like Witch Doctor had favoritism with the judges, possibly because they made for a good face for battlebots, not just in that one match but just about every match they had that season. I never knew they had a rematch and this was a DOOZY! The fact that both sides came limping away was such a dramatic finish, loved every bit of it. And of course it means there could be a tie-breaker sometime in the future.
Very classy comments at the end, I'd have shaded that fight to Witch Doctor because Minotaur were crabwalking and lost their weapon, WD just lost their weapon but it was so close.
Minotaur with one side not functioning, was still able to push WD around, so they won the control category (even if by little) they turned their weapon at the end, showing weapon not destroyed, which takes back damage from WD they did left side damage to WD making it not have clear ground clearance and struggle with traction. that goes both to damage for MNTR and for lack of control to WD. and they destroyed the forks - clear damage it was a clear, but close win for MNTR and the judges got it right
The Witch Doctor builders mentioned they went into this fight using salvaged and damaged parts to save their best ones for the tournament. They had already qualified by that point.
@@darylcastillo1439 I slightly agree with that, but I don't think they deserved the #3 seed since all 3 wins were against 1-3 bots, and one of those bots actually, in my opinion, won.
Witch doctor has a RUclips channel and they post after fight commentary explaining exactly what broke and how they’re fixing it to ready for the next match, so if you’re interested in that I highly recommend it it’s pretty cool :)
This was actually the fight of the week for once. Amazing what two roughed up bots can still put up a good show. This was so close I believe it was the fact that Minotaur pinned Witch Doctor against the wall twice that led to Minotaur winner. Though last year's battle and rules change didn't hurt their chances either.

I believe in part also between tantrum and Hydra that change part of the rules of the Arena I believe we going to see these Bots back in the semifinals
A 3 minute fight in a 12min:48 video is more than 1%, but you can always try asking for your money back. Also when I was a boy back in the olden days, IF you recorded something, you had to manually fast forward over the guff and find the action, you kids these days are spoiled with your seek bars with previews and and chapter titles.
Very tense main event, closer than expected, did not expect those counter shot from witch doctor. A shame that second half of fight both bots were weaponless and struggling to drive, but nevertheless minotaur prevailed and got the #1 seed
@@beauottenbreit7992 Riptide hasn't had the toughest schedule of all. He got a bot who went 0-4, a mid tier madcatter, captain shrederator which let's be honest that was a gimme win, and black dragon is a good bot as well. Compare that to minotaur, he got the reining champ, ok a gimme win in free shipping, a legendary spinner who absolutely wrecks his opponents, and 3-0 runner up of a beast herself. Pedigree also matters (which I think is why shatter somehow snuck in) and minotaur with his past success gave him the edge over riptide
@@beauottenbreit7992 Let me illustrate why the difference is there in terms of strength of schedule. Take all four opponents of each robot, and have a win on their schedules be +1, a loss be -1 Minotaur comes out at a strength score from that of 0, their opponents overall breaking even on wins and losses. Riptide comes in at -6, showing that they had an easy time of it. The only strength of schedule score coming in lower than Riptide in the Ro32 is HUGE at -8, whilst the -6 level is shared by Quantum, Claw Viper, Beta and Switchback.
Seems both teams were holding back spares for the tournament so probably behind the apparent lower weapon durability in this fight. (eg compare the minotaur vs cobalt where they took nastier hits and still running the weapon to the end) Both aware they were getting top 4, doesn't really matter beyond that. If anything, of the top 4, riptide has the easiest first match.
Both bots are 2 of the absolute best and it was not a surprise that it went the distance again! Definitely the best fight of this season so far, both of them are in the tournament regardless!
minotaur was aggressive but I think you can see that there was still about 1 minute left and you can see that minotaur was only working with 1 wheel and that could give a ko count, because for better or worse Witch Doctor was walking normally!! but it was an excellent fight congratulations to both !! two king bots :D
They changed the rules this season cause of the controversy in their last fight. Now any movement (even with only one wheel) counts as being active, and only being completely stationary enacts a countdown. If they didn't change the rules, Witch Doctor would have won again.
Witch Doctor has always been laid back with a Great outlook at having the sportsmanship that is a roll model for everyone! Period! What can I say? actions speak louder than anything else.
Only reason Minotaur didnt win the nut this year - Sawblaze. Although It wouldve been intresting had Minotaur got to the final to see how they would fare against Huge.
I don't know what the rules are, but WD threw MINO around many times and in the end seemed to be in a better state than MINO, who could not drive very well...
Heh, Witch Doctor even tried playing possum with their weapon motors. After they spun but had no energy left in them, they kept them powered down until 3sec remaining. Puff of blue smoke from the top of the bot then was them trying to spin the weapon one last time to show it as working. Good try, but that's not the good smoke.
I thought Witch Doctor was the clear winner in that S6 battle because Minotaur was badly hobbled. I was shocked at Daniel's poor sportsmanship at the time. Meanwhile, Witch Doctor crew were all class dealing with their close loss this year. I thought WD won this one since Minotaur just had the whose good early shots and two pins, but both matches were super close.
Minotaurs my fav so I’m glad to see it go 4-0 in this rematch. But god that s6 fight would’ve been the best fight ever if it weren’t for the upper deck causing Minotaur to get caught and Witch Doctor to get stuck. I’m just glad this rematch was excellent
I agree that witch doctor won the second half after they were unstuck. However, Minotaur brutalized them for the entire fight up until they got stuck, and if they didn’t get the free unstick they would’ve lost.
I still believe this fight should have been awarded to witch doctor...cuz after initial minotaur flurry it was all witch doctor...if you look closely at fight...no major hits by minotaur apart from ripping front forks...but witch doctor plunged minotaur across the battle box and several feets in the air...
Well, both lost their main weapons, so there's that. And damage done is just one category. I wish they would display a breakdown of points or at least who won which category because to me it wasn't clear who would win and when they announced an unanimous decision I asked myself "how?"
I don't think Mike was his usual self that night. Minotaur made a billion mistakes, and Mike didn't capitalise on them like he usually does. Really wanted Witch Doctor to win 😩 oh well, I think they still got the best hit of the fight.
The Hit at the start of the match ripped part of the front left tire off, hindering witch doctors drive on one side. That caused witch doctor to miss some opportunities.
@@GiganX1 I think even before that. Like look at how he’s driving when the forks were on, I think the forks were a mistake that hindered mikes early driving. As soon as the forks are off Witch Doctor starts doing better even with the busted wheel (but yes obviously the wheel also caused driving errors and missed opportunities throughout the fight) so it would have been really nice to see this fight with a witch doctor that was unabated from the start.
All my respect for Minotaur's driver went down the toilet the moment I realize how much of a sore loser he was. Not only he had 0 humility he was also uber disrespectful saying "this is a joke" multiple times.

Yes seems Minotaur was off wasn't honest 100% game that fight I think the best fight for Minotaur was against Cobalt but knowing Daniel he's saving his best moves for the semi-finals
@MGTOW DARRELLDUNDEE Minotaur was using damaged parts from the cobalt fight which is probably why it looked kinda hurt. Same with Witch Doctor who I think we’re using parts from the fusion fight
that was a good fight! I honestly couldn't tell at the end who had the upper hand, minotaur had the control?!? but which doctor I think landed the hardest hits. Fantastic driving by both teams. minotaur the control bot just tastes wierd.
Wasn't it this fight that brought a huge boost in battlebot viewership on youtube? I remember the only way to actually watch the fights were via third party channels at the time.
while watching live i thought that both bots went off prime performance very quickly, but after rewatching, i thinnk it was just my idea... minotaur visibly suffered from slower spin-up time in the first hald (afte only a couple contacts) and i think that the two gyroscopic flips minotaur had to do close to each other (with weapon at max speed) probably hurt the weapon cause it was almost inactive afterwards also after taking that sie hit they lost most movement in one side and with all the pushing they did they burned out that motor and were completely limping by the end WDD on the other hand took damage immidiately at the start and though it wasnt much visibly affected they lost driving performance. they also lost their weapon later on, but i dont exactly know where/when/which contact cost them that. both bots are so well built that both took/absorbed a lot of energy and damage but neither shows it significantly. but both with their durability still got affectedd internaly in the harddware and were hindered. shows that both are top level bots.

I believe in part also between tantrum and Hydra that change part of the rules of the Arena I believe we going to see these Bots back in the semifinals
Yeah, Hydra hydra got robbed too. IMO They wanted teams with women on them. Both semi final fights should have gone the other way. Hydra got robbed.
Very beautiful words by Minotaur!
80% hype, 19% ads, 1% actual battles
A 3 minute fight in a 12min:48 video is more than 1%, but you can always try asking for your money back.
Also when I was a boy back in the olden days, IF you recorded something, you had to manually fast forward over the guff and find the action, you kids these days are spoiled with your seek bars with previews and and chapter titles.
THE BATTLEBOTS JUST GROWS. CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE AT WC7. ALWAYS GREAT TO SEE THE WITCH DOCTOR VS. MINOTAUR. WE WANT RIPTIDE.
I wouldn’t be surprised if team Minotaur thinks their bot has a score to settle with Riptide.

Nice hit by Witch Doctor.
Very tense main event, closer than expected, did not expect those counter shot from witch doctor. A shame that second half of fight both bots were weaponless and struggling to drive, but nevertheless minotaur prevailed and got the #1 seed
I like them but I don't think they should get the #1 seed. Top 4 easily but I like Riptide for the #1, no contest.
Take all four opponents of each robot, and have a win on their schedules be +1, a loss be -1
Minotaur comes out at a strength score from that of 0, their opponents overall breaking even on wins and losses.
(eg compare the minotaur vs cobalt where they took nastier hits and still running the weapon to the end)
Both aware they were getting top 4, doesn't really matter beyond that. If anything, of the top 4, riptide has the easiest first match.
@@timp2751maybe easiest first, but I feel like riptides quadrant is way too loaded with top tier bots.
It was not Witch Doctor's fault but the Battlebots' judges and whoever decided to unstuck WD that fight.
Glad minotaur won.
Minotaur is amazing, it's my favorite bot.
Sou brasileiro e me orgulho muito dessa equipe. Ela representa a garra e a alegria do nosso país.
Nationalism is a disease of the weak-minded.
Good victory speech.
Both bots are 2 of the absolute best and it was not a surprise that it went the distance again! Definitely the best fight of this season so far, both of them are in the tournament regardless!
RioBotz and Minotaur for the Giant Nut 🥇🥇🥇🥇🏆🏆
I cant believe anyone is glad Faruq is gone. He was my second favorite part of this competition!
Would love to see another rematch next season!
Apart from that one (admittedly very impressive) hit, the fight was all one sided. The right bot absolutely won.
minotaur was aggressive but I think you can see that there was still about 1 minute left and you can see that minotaur was only working with 1 wheel and that could give a ko count, because for better or worse Witch Doctor was walking normally!! but it was an excellent fight congratulations to both !! two king bots :D
They changed the rules this season cause of the controversy in their last fight. Now any movement (even with only one wheel) counts as being active, and only being completely stationary enacts a countdown. If they didn't change the rules, Witch Doctor would have won again.
@@stevedavidson5038 ok ;)
Gotta give some love to Faruq’s introductions. Man’s next level!
Witch Doctor has always been laid back with a Great outlook at having the sportsmanship that is a roll model for everyone! Period! What can I say? actions speak louder than anything else.
It's quite addictive this battlebot business
Marco is the good Battlebot guy, Daniel is a different kind of Battlebot guy. (reference to the old cop series, 'The Shield'.)
Only reason Minotaur didnt win the nut this year - Sawblaze. Although It wouldve been intresting had Minotaur got to the final to see how they would fare against Huge.
Sadly I think they would have lost to Huge but who knows, hopefully next season is their year
Nothing but respect for team Minotaur's sportsmanship.
I don't know what the rules are, but WD threw MINO around many times and in the end seemed to be in a better state than MINO, who could not drive very well...
Ima need yall to make a battle bots game fr. Talkin customizable bots, upgrades, cosmetics, no pay-to-win, competitive modes etc. would make a killing
there's a ps2 game for robot wars (similar show) called arenas of destruction
Minatour driver was very rude before. What happened? He looked respectful here.
Minotaur, well known anti-fork artist
Trying to work out who will win the nut this year I genuinely have no idea
for me it is minotaur.
@@yonghong4832 I think riptide could upset the field may not win but who knows
Heh, Witch Doctor even tried playing possum with their weapon motors. After they spun but had no energy left in them, they kept them powered down until 3sec remaining. Puff of blue smoke from the top of the bot then was them trying to spin the weapon one last time to show it as working. Good try, but that's not the good smoke.
Both teams did that, but only one succeeded :)
@@goronimus304 The fight had two halves but, at the end, Witch Doctor seemed to be in better shape.
This is sabotage! I want a recount!
their weapons both down pretty quickly on what should have been an incredible match
I think we will see this more and more as the power in the batteries and the motors increases so much every year.
they were using spares. Its like when the bucks and the nuggets play at the very end of the nba season and start their backups
We love Andrea……
…. and Mike
Mad respect for the Minotaur guy for that speech at the end.
"These two robots must be exhausted."
Couldn't make it up! 😂😂
totally garbage call. They're battery powered, they don't even have an exhaust.
My guilty secret is thinking I can take on Minotaur and Witch Doctor at once if I were in Battlebots.
I mean, of you were in their you could fight both of them at once, you would just lose.
I mean I doubt their drivers would turn on the weapons and drive full force at a human in the box so yeah I think you’re right
@@ItsDesca don't think any driver would.
That guy... Great gamer. I love him
I don't think Mike was his usual self that night.
Interesting to watch that last minute or so, both limping and unable to really fight, but working to do what they can before the clock runs out.
All my respect for Minotaur's driver went down the toilet the moment I realize how much of a sore loser he was. Not only he had 0 humility he was also uber disrespectful saying "this is a joke" multiple times.
Br é diferenciado. Parabéns a equipe.

Yes seems Minotaur was off wasn't honest 100% game that fight I think the best fight for Minotaur was against Cobalt but knowing Daniel he's saving his best moves for the semi-finals
Yes bro I want to see destruction of other robot I'm biggest fan of monitor from india🇮🇳🤍🤍
@MGTOW DARRELLDUNDEE Minotaur was using damaged parts from the cobalt fight which is probably why it looked kinda hurt. Same with Witch Doctor who I think we’re using parts from the fusion fight
Battlebots will never die.
Minotauro vs witch doctor 2021 🤯,minotauro vs witch doctor 2023 👍
that was a good fight! I honestly couldn't tell at the end who had the upper hand, minotaur had the control?!? but which doctor I think landed the hardest hits. Fantastic driving by both teams. minotaur the control bot just tastes wierd.
This was such a fantastic fight. I wanted Witch doctor to win but Minotaur bested them fair and squere.
My two favorites, last time they went head to head was... But BATTLEBOTS FOR LIFE
Wasn't it this fight that brought a huge boost in battlebot viewership on youtube? I remember the only way to actually watch the fights were via third party channels at the time.
while watching live i thought that both bots went off prime performance very quickly, but after rewatching, i thinnk it was just my idea...
minotaur visibly suffered from slower spin-up time in the first hald (afte only a couple contacts) and i think that the two gyroscopic flips minotaur had to do close to each other (with weapon at max speed) probably hurt the weapon cause it was almost inactive afterwards
also after taking that sie hit they lost most movement in one side and with all the pushing they did they burned out that motor and were completely limping by the end
WDD on the other hand took damage immidiately at the start and though it wasnt much visibly affected they lost driving performance. they also lost their weapon later on, but i dont exactly know where/when/which contact cost them that.
both bots are so well built that both took/absorbed a lot of energy and damage but neither shows it significantly. but both with their durability still got affectedd internaly in the harddware and were hindered. shows that both are top level bots.
I just love the intros
6:48 i was scared minotaur was gonna lose due to that hit but thank god he won. Man, that was close!
