Allthough Rammstein are known for their bombastic and hard hitting sometimes even absurd and funny anthems their ballads are so beautiful. Ohne dich is a perfect example.

"Komm in mein Boot..." 😊 Rammstein "Seemann" was released as the second single of the debut album "Herzeleid" in 1996. I like the song!

After seeing this, you absolutely MUST see the cover of this song by Apocalyptica ft. Nina Hagen. I am as diehard a Rammstein fan as can be, but this cover is even more impactful than the original for me.

OMG, I love his voice. This is honestly the first time I've actually heard Till Lindemann use a softer voice! And he does such a beautiful job pulling it off, despite being used to him having a much deeper tone when he sings.

The studio version is already quite intense but played live the added small vocal details paired with the performance are just gut-wrenching.

This song has saved my life. In a moment of darkness this song shed light in my life. This life can be so cold and alone and like you said feel defeated and reaching for help. In the lyrics it says the best sailor is myself. That line flipped a switch and made me realize that sometimes we are dealt a role in life and if we dont make the best of it we can be the person drowning in the endless cold sea or be the sailor and be the shining light. Everytime i hear this song it reminds me of what I overcame and what Rammstein means to me. I seen them twice and i cried seeing them. i owe them so much for their music.

Hi Aileen, normally I prefer the original version/artist, but in this case I prefer Seeman from Apocalyptica feat. Nina Hagen.

The cover by Nina Hagen is really good. It has the benefit of being with cello band, Apocalyptica. So it gives it an orchestral vibe. She sings it her own way but her voice isnt as expressive and mournful as Tills is I feel for this song

Your reaction to Rammstein songs is on another level, it has become so poetic that truly shows how good you feel the nerve of their songs. And I guess thats why you react so beautyfully and meaningfully.

Love this song since day one it came out. I always felt, it's about the - as I think - most German feeling of all: melancholy. We often find ourselves just at that doorstep down to depression, enjoying the stare down into this abyss without actually going there. Sadness, grief, farewell and maybe a glass of good red wine. And when Till says "Jaaa" in here, deep and low, we lift our glasses and join in. PS: and I love playing it on my bass myself ;)

Ooo. I love Rammstein! One of their new songs "Zeit" is stuck in my head for weeks. It's "Time" talks about a perfect moment, how it should stand still, but time moves on. And a video is a masterpiece 😍

I love how Till sings this now. I feel like the maturity in his voice really makes this more impactful
