    This song absolutely gutted me..
Hearing till progressively lose his mind towards the end with the intense autotune broke my heart. The autotune representing his madness was such a powerful touch. Autotune is also represented as "fake" or a filter on a voice just as a filter on a photo can significantly change it. Its all just lies...The attention to detail in this album is just spot on...This song is truly my new favorite. ALBUM OF THE YEAR!!!

In the verse about promising but no speaking (ich verspreche nur, ich spreche nichts), Till is toying with the similarity between sprechen (to speak) and versprechen (to promise). Personally, I read it as "I make a lot of promises but I never say anything [of substance]". This dude is a master craftsman in packing a LOT of meaning in a few words, and the fact that the German language lends itself nicely for just that sort of trick doesn't hurt him either as a lyricist.

I felt so much emotion listening to it... The first time I heard it was without the translation and I was almost disappointed by the use of autotune, but here seeing the lyrics and the meaning of it makes the autotune and the whole song so powerful! Thanks a lot for this review, I was in tears at the end, Rammstein is really incredible

@@cletusbeauregard1972 I remember that when single Zeit just got released I was like, hmm, is this that band whose latest 2019 album I've been listening quite a lot 3 years ago, and whose older albums seemed too outdated to me? Interesting, well, while waiting for the full album to release I decided to give those other albums a try, and here I am 2.5 years later, listening to AI versions of their unreleased songs with horrible quality and rip off bands like Nebelhouse, just to satisfy my daily dose of Rammstein, turned out they never missed, best band ever, no doubt about that, and yeah, Zeit is probably their apogee

Rammstein is one of the most emotional bands I know.
The harmonies, the melodies and also the tempo changes in the songs are simply unmatched. I think I heard "Spring" ( jump ) for the first time in 2008. The song killed me. This text and the guitars to go with it...... Just out of this world. I was laying on my couch with goosebumps from my pinky toe to my hair and tears streaming down my face. The song took me so much that I had to calm down after the song. I was completely devastated.

I can't listen to the song "Zeit" because at this point in my life I'm going through a rough time. I have to skip it because I'll end up a mess. I'm not one to be very emotional but Rammstein does it for me. I'd love to see you react to "Rammstein" from 2019. That was their first record since 2009. "Zeit" only happened because of the lockdowns. I love your content. You're a beautiful & loving person. We're all imperfect beings but regardless of our mistakes, we are here to love & be loved. I would also love to see an album-by-album reaction. I honestly feel that if you decide to do so, Aileen, start at the beginning and experience the incredible evolution of their music. Herzeleid, Sehnsucht, Mutter, (Reise, Reise), Rosenrot, Liebe Ist Für Alle Da, and self-titled. Each standard album is eleven songs, but it appears LIFAD has been made into the special edition on Spotify which gives it 5 additional songs, 3 new songs and 2 alternate versions of the last song on that album.

I tend to suffer from cognitive dissonance between my position that no technology is inherently good or bad and the fact that autotune makes me want to break stuff and punch people - up to this song. The moment I heard it here, my jaw dropped. Pure genius.

  • @Ercarret
    @Ercarret 2 года назад +11

One thing that I forgot to mention: it's been so much fun to follow you along in reacting to the album. I think everyone has their own favorite tracks - you can see people having all kinds of favorites in the comments under every new reaction - so it's really cool to hear your opinion about each track. There have been quite a few tracks where I've gone, "Huh, I didn't think about that", and suddenly it soars up in my own ranking of the songs.
To some extent, it's probably because you really dive into the meaning of the lyrics. I rarely do (at least on the first listen). With my German being pretty so-so, I typically only understand bits and pieces of the songs, and at most get the general gist of them. However, by following along on your journey through the album, I've come to understand their songs a lot better. That's been really cool! I appreciate that a lot. It really enhanced my own experience as well.
    So thank you! :)

I've been going through a lot recently and yesterday I'm listening to them outside sitting in a chair in the middle of my dads yard, out of nowhere so much from my past hit me and I started crying and I was so angry from things that happened when I was a child so angry.. I clenched every fiber in my body I felt like I was getting the shit kicked out of me, I was exhaling as if I was getting over something very hard, and then I couldn't help but to laugh in relief.. I felt like a mad man but it all made sense to me and it was so needed.. I woke up today only to google lügen meaning lying or lies.. and adieu meaning goodbye. And to me it was saying goodbye to my lies and to open up and feel deep rooted pain from so long ago and I'm sure I have more but those two songs truly did something for me.

Hey Aileen! I myself discovered Rammstein for myself a few weeks ago. I never heard to Metal or anything like that. I am a 34 year old German, always knew Rammstein but never listened to them because I thought they are just loud and provoking. I love them so much right now - It annoys me so much that I went to countless Rap- and Hiphop concerts in my youth instead of growing up with Rammstein. They were right in front of me, I should had just listened one song of them. Now all I can do is watch at their past and the present. I watched all your Reactions from "Du Hast" on so many times - because I really honestly love to see the ways I reacted to them in your face. The Du Hast got me into this just like you - awesome. And the Adieu Reaction (the one without video), the Zeit one and this one here - OMG I felt exact the same way like you! It is always a pleasure to watch these reactions for me, because this way I can feel myself listening the first time just like you did in these videos.
We started at Pyro and stage-presence and are left at poetry at its deepest. What an awesome band. I thank you so much for your reactions, you did a great job!
The only thing you already achieved which i have not - seeing them live. Sadly it is not possible for me to get tickets this year here in Munich - so I have to hope to get some for next year. Here in germany they are even faster outsold than everywhere else. I hope I can catch those 4-5 minutes and get tickets. This is everything I want right now. I am absolutely addicted to them.
I also got my whole family into this - my mum, in her late 50s - before I even could wish her a happy birthday on phone this january 4th, she yelled through the phone "Heyyyyyyy I have birthday the same day like Till Lindemann!!!! How cool on earth is that???" This band is the best band on the whole planet.
again, thanks for giving me the pleasure of getting all the goosebumps and tears and wows another and another and another time, when I need it. You are a great person!

I just love music so much. I love how it can mean something different to every single person. I interpret the song as a reflection of society, how everybody is so obsessed with creating a specific image, especially on social media that isn’t in any way representative of who they really are in reality. And that it goes further than that, it’s not just on social media, people are walking around every day, pretending to be people they’re not and trying to be so wholesome and perfect, and put together and more special than others when nobody is like that in reality, and everybody just wants to pretend that they don’t have any flaws. And the autotune represents how so many artists don’t use their real voice, and he’s drawing attention to the extremity of the autotune so that it’s very clear he’s discussing lies and deceit and cheating while using auto tune, making him a complete hypocrite. And then the autotune also goes another level deeper, addressing Till’s own fear of performing in front of people, and how he found ways to overcome that with showmanship, which, in turn, made the band as famous and as great as they are now. To me it’s a scathing commentary on the artificial world that we live in. I also feel like he addresses mental health issues and narcissistic personality disorder. It’s such a beautiful song.

It is so amazing what everyone sees in their music, that makes it truly art, because in the end everybody is having a discussion as well.
I see this song a bit differnt and I don't think it is because I'm a native speaker. At the beginning he tells about the ideal live, everyone is striving for, but in the end it is all lies and you even lie to yourself.
But who knows what they really mean, it hopefully will remain unkown, so everyone can see something else.
So happy with this album! I guess the las song will be emotional as well, especially on a concert.
