Rammstein has a lot of "ballads" that are almost highlights from this band
    "Amour"
"Ohne dich" (best power Ballads from Rammstein)
    "Frühling in Paris"
    "Nebel"
    "Diamant"
    "Ein Lied"
    "Feuer und Wasser"
"Stirb nicht vor mir (Don’t Die Before I Do)"
    "Wilder Wein"

Love this song, it's like quiet before the storm, thoughtful, melancholic, hypnotizing in a way.
Also, you should react to the live version of this song in 2016. Best Till Lindemann performance ever, his voice is so deep and powerful, like watching a theater masterpiece with an opera singer acting.

The fire thing apparently started due to Till having crippling stage fright. He figured if he was set on fire he couldn't just run off stage. It's also why he developed his stage persona. It helps him cope with being on stage. As if it's someone else.

Three cellists and the german godmother of Punk. Nina sings lower than Till in this video. It's incredible !
And it's (I don't believe I'm saying this) better than the Rammstein version.

Back in the late 90's, when they played this song live they would throw an inflatable boat onto the crowd and Flake would jump in during the song. They would hold it up with their arms, to mimic the waves in the sea, and they would make the boat do a U-turn and return Flake to the stage. The first time I saw them here in Portugal (May 1998, at a small venue in Lisbon), they did the same thing but the crowd, instead of returning Flake to the stage, kept moving him all the way to the back of the audience and dumped him on the ground. The "poor" guy had to walk back to the stage through the crowd and the band kept playing the same part over and over until he returned. 🤣

I've been able to see Rammstein live many times and this were on the first one I went to... still made a longer lasting impact live than "Sonne" ..I just love their slower and softer songs.
Sonne though is the most amazing song live followed by "Feuer Frei" being the most Rammstein-y Rammstein songs imo -though I love the newer songs as well and "Zeit" is just awe dropping for me.
I think that "Stripped" is amazing as well even though it's a cover and not on their standard albums.

Musically it is a crossbreed between medival rock, power metal and symphonic orchestra and they also have a choir with 2 voices. The video is basically a LARP complete with all the costumes and orks and armor so it is more of a short film than a music video.

As a non german speaker like you is listening to Rammstein without subtitles as if going to see the Mona Lisa as a blind person. I'm a native speaker and well read and quite interested in the German language itself, reading a lot of poetry and literature of all epochs I have to say Till Lindeman (as his father (a poet) before him and his mother (a journalist) both working with the language itself) is actually a really, really good poet. In the technical sense (the actual words) and as a keen observer and critic of the society he lives in. So, put in the subtitles or dont bother, the music iteself is like 10% of everything max.
