Headless Cross, TYR and Cross Purposes are top tier Sabbath albums, no matter what era. Hopefully they get around to remastering and re-releasing the Tony Martin era.
Sorry but I would not call any album after mob rules as top tier, nothing to do with the singer. I like dehumanizer and the devil you know and 13 but not top tier either.
Good video, Born Again remix is apparently taking some time, Tony Iommi said we have to be patient, but it is definitely happening that’s the main thing
Great ranking, Darcy! As always, you deliver some interesting and enjoyable material. 1. Black Sabbath 2. Heaven and Hell 3. Mob Rules 4. Tyr 5. Headless Cross 6. Paranoid 7. Master of Reality 8. Vol. 4 9. Dehumanizer 10. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath 11. Sabotage 12. Born Again 13. Cross Purposes 14. The Eternal Idol 15. The Devil You Know 16. 13 17. Never Say Die! 18. Technical Ecstacy 19. Seventh Star 20. Forbidden
Nice to see Headless Cross in the top half, great album! They are talking a May release for the Tony Martin era box set, hope that happens! Thanks for watching & sharing your ranking 🤘 Cheers from Canada
Quite an undertaking ranking all these. I remember you telling me to give Headless Cross a try last year and I enjoyed it. I thought your number 1 would be that. I'm on my 3rd listen of Accept - Breaker today though. I can't believe how much I love it. 24 hours ago I didn't know it lol.
I’m pumped your on a Accept mission, Breaker to Russian Roulette is essential German Metal! Great time on the stream last night mate, thanks for having me 🤘
Excellent ranking Darcy. Great effort you put out in there. Happy to see that both Tyr and Headless Cross are getting appreciated. Those 2 are my favourite Black Sabbath albums. Yes, blasphemy to many, but Tony Martin is one hell of a singer! Cheers.
Great ranking!🤘 In the early 80’s I was into Priest, Accept, Maiden, Saxon, Motörhead and Dio (soloband). I heard of Ozzy and Black Sabbath but was not a big fan. Listened to ”Born Again” when it came out and didn’t like it (do now🙂). It wasn’t until -87 when I first heard ”The Shining” that Sabbath really grabbed my attention. Since then I have come to appreciate most of their early work with Ozzy. And the Dio years are fantastic. But for me the Martin years will alwas be the ones I love most. Headless Cross and Tyr are outstanding albums. I saw them live in my hometown back in -95, and it was fantastic! Take care Darcy!🤘
Great band, hard to rank but here it goes 1. Sabotage (1975) 2. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (1973) 3. Heaven and Hell (1980) 4. Paranoid (1970) 5. Volume 4 (1972) 6. Master of Reality (1971) 7. Mob Rules (1981) 8. Black Sabbath (1970) 9. Headless Cross (1989) 10. Cross Purposes (1994) 11. Never Say Die (1978) 12. Dehumanizer (1992) 13. Born Again (1983) 14. Technical Ecstacy (1976) 15. The Eternal Idol (1987) 16. Tyr (1990) 17. The Devil You Know (2009) 18. 13 (2013) 19. Forbidden (1995) 20. Seventh Star (1986)
That's a hell of an undertaking to rank all of those albums Darcy! It's been a while since I've listened to some Sabbath, looks like I'm going now. Over the years Sabotage has moved into my #1 spot. I would move a couple of yours around but overall nice ranking sir.
Great pick with Sabotage, you already know how much I love it! It’s a fun undertaking & the bonus is I get to hang with so many awesome people in the comment section 🤘 Cheers my friend
I believe Born Again, Dehumanizer, The Eternal Idol and TYR are Sabbath's most underrated albums. And these four albums I've always really liked. and in my opinion are verygood unique Sabbath albums. Great rankings video Darcy.👍 take care brother.🤘🍺
Some of the Tony Martin era just gets sloughed off as subpar Black Sabbath, it’s just not true! I’m hoping for a nice box set that, hopefully that appeals to more fans that have not given that era a chance. Cheers my metal brother 🤘 Have a great week
For me: 1. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath 2. Mob Rules 3. Sabotage 4. Vol.4 5. Master of Reality 6. Paranoid 7. Heaven and Hell 8. Dehumanizer 9. Black Sabbath 10. Born Again 11. Technical Ecstasy 12. Devil in the Details 13. 13 14. Headless Cross 15. Never Say Die 16. The Eternal Idol 17. Seventh Star 18. Cross Purposes 19. TYR 20 Forbidden
Yeah after Forgotten I mean Forbidden there is not shit albums. I hope they reissue Seventh Star too, add some cool extras from that era of the band. Thanks for watching 🤘 Cheers from Canada
Very nice ranking... I agree 110% with you on number one and two. The rest is almost the same. I am 5 years older than you (1963) and I started listening to Sabbath around 1990. So it is never to late to start 😁 Pls keep up the very good work that you do 👍👍👍 All the best from Norway 😁😁😁
Great video Darcy. Eternal idol, Tyr and Headless Cross are fantastic albums. They are not even underrated, but straight up disrespected. Only forbidden and never say die are insufficient in my opinion.
I put the album 13 in the top six of their albums. To me it does have loved throwback riffs and leads and I think that's why I like. And that's also why we have a dialogue about music so we can appreciate each those differences. Keep rocking my friend
Hi Darcy!! cool ranking and great job doing the list and including H&H too, i also got the chance to see them live with Ronnie and then twice with Ozzy (13/Farewell), three great shows. I still need to get the rest of their studio albums with Tony Martin and Glen Hughes and let's hope those reissues make those record sound the way they were supposed to be. cheers
That's a great ranking, probably because it is similar to mine: 1. Mob Rules (1981) 2. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (1973) 3. Heaven and Hell (1980) 4. Sabotage (1975) 5. Paranoid (1970) 6. Master of Reality (1971) 7. Dehumanizer (1992) 8. Volume 4 (1972) 9. Born Again (1983) 10. Black Sabbath (1970) 11. Headless Cross (1989) 12. Tyr (1990) 13. The Devil You Know (2009) 14. The Eternal Idol (1987) 15. Cross Purposes (1994) 16. Seventh Star (1986) 17. Never Say Die (1978) 18. 13 (2013) 19. Technical Ecstacy (1976) 20. Forbidden (1995)
Yes Heaven and Hell at number one , that Album is a 24 carat stone cold classic alongside Rainbow Rising , never say Dio indeed !!!!. News from the UK is that Iommi has not started the Tony Martin Remasters but is working on Born Again , only rumours though. Stay Well Mate.
Thanks for posting your rankings. Here is my top 10 Sabbath albums. 1. Heaven and Hell 2. Mob Rules 3. Headless Cross 4. Eternal Idol (Ray Gillen vocals version) 5. Tyr 6. Dehumanizer 7. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath 8. Vol. IV 9. Master of Reality 10. Sabotage
Great vid mate! I managed to see Sabbath with Dio (Heaven and Hell) in 2007 at Wembley and with Ozzy in 2014 in Hyde Park and both shows were excellent. Having seen Ozzy solo a few times his voice suited the early Sabbath tunes way more! Your point on Strange Highways and Dehumanizer is spot on; I feel Lock up the Wolves and these two are some sort of trilogy and actually for me right up there with Dio's best stuff!
I did enjoy this. Obviously my top 2 don’t included Ronnie, but to be perfectly honest with you, if I take away my first 6 albums are all you need, then this would have to be on of the best rankings on RUclips. Yeah the Thralls of Metal boys was decent and good, yet I enjoyed how you made good points on each record, to go back and listen and maybe see why they are great records. I don’t know you’re channel as in depth as the others on here, and I was sure RJD would be up there. Tony Martin is and will always be underrated.
Nice ranking there Darcy and not as easy as I thought it would be as there'll be some strong albums missing out at the top end. They still deliver with the multiple line up changes which doesn't make it easy. Fingers crossed for that fabled Martin era box set. I think my top 5 would be: 1. headless cross 2. master of reality 3. mob rules 4. heaven and hell 5. black sabbath
Nice to see "Sabotage" so high on your list, didn´t expect that! That´s my number 1 followed closely by "Mob Rules". I would rank "The Eternal Idol" a bit higher than "Tyr" but tht´s just my opinion. I can´t understand people arguing about a personal ranking, everybody hears the stuff a bit different and there´s no wrong or right in musical preferences. Thank you for making the effort of ranking this catalogue!
I knew your top 3 Brother. This is a great ranking and adding the devil you know was a no brainer for me, it’s Black Sabbath, lol. The top 2 are my top 2 but I have them reversed. My fav Ozzy era is either vol 4 or master of reality. Anyways awesome to see your take on this bands catalog. I need an iron savior ranking asap 😂. Stay well brother.🤟🤟
Wow, this was different and surprising. Got into Sabbath around 1980! “Paranoid” & Heaven And Hell” were my 1st two Black Sabbath Albums I bought. Opinions will always vary, but “Black Sabbath”, “Paranoid” not ranked in the top 10 with little emphasis and “Sabotage” chosen as #3 (the best Ozzy Era Album)??? Holy Supertzar! Lol
Yeah I was a little later than you getting into them, and I do understand what you’re saying regarding those classics! First 2 with RJD was where I started, sure I heard a few songs before that but didn’t dig deep. First Ozzy era album was Sabotage. Thanks for respectfully giving me shit lol, we can’t agree on everything but we can have fun trying! Thanks for watching 🤘 Cheers from Canada
Definitely agree with you about Technical Ecstasy, it's actually a very pleasant listen... the remix on the deluxe box set makes it even better in my opinion. My two favorites are: Paranoid - Despite many of the songs being so overplayed in my youth, I still love the title track, Iron Man, War Pigs, etcetera (I always forget how good the latter half of Iron Man is, the solo is great) Electric Funeral is also a favorite of mine Love the mix as well, and it's a perfect length album, I like my albums shorter, 30-40 minutes. Sabotage - this is what got me into Sabbath, I'd heard Hole in the Sky from Pantera, and Symptom of the Universe from Metallica's little mid concert jams in the 90's. Those tracks are heavy as all hell... Megalomania is my all-time favorite Sabbath song, definitely their magnum opus song in my opinion. Thrill of it All and The Writ too? Phenomenal, something about the mixing and production, Ozzy's vocals on this, all of it makes a perfect album in my eyes. Glad to see we were on the same page about Sabotage, seems I'm always seeing people put it lower for some reason... but hey memusic is subjective, that's what makes it fun haha.
I love Forbidden. Lots of variety, within the different tracks. Great riffs, great solos, great drums, the bass is heavy and perceptible. The final song, Kiss of Death, is an awesome haunting ballad, and the perfect final chapter for the album. From a musical point of view, there's really nothing bad to say about Forbidden. But I never argue with personal tastes. Although I find it weird how so many people dislike that album. I think it's a common case of collective "follow the trend" opinion lol. Like when the internet decided that Lars Ulrich couldn't play the drums. And now he's burned forever ahah. Anyway, very cool video, as always! Born Again is one of my favourites, too. Andreas Kisser from Sepultura is wearing a t-shirt of that album on the video of "Roots Bloody Roots". And Kisser is one hell of a guitar player.
Recall seeing them on the Headless Cross tour in the old Hammersmith Odeon...cool line up with Cozy Powell....Neil Murray....Geoff Nichols.....the Heaven and Hell dvd from radio music city hall is great....cool ranking video!
Didn't you have a Judas Priest ranking video? I went to watch it and cannot find it anywhere. Just purchased Invincible Shield (my first 'purchased' priest album). I really only know the songs they play on the radio, never dove into their discography so I was looking for your ranking video to see where I should go next....Thanks Darcy!
Hey Chris , yes I did have a Judas Priest ranking video, but I took it down. It needs to be updated, stay tuned it won’t be long until I do that. My review for Invincible Shield will be up tomorrow 🤘🛡️🤘
great...looking forward to it! Hopefully an updated Maiden ranking soon too! Your my go-to for this stuff....take care Darcy!@@darcysixstringsninelives3493
I highly recommend Bill Ward's solo album : BILL WARD ONE: ALONG THE WAY. A brilliant underrated album with plenty of guest musicians including Ozzy who sang in two tracks. Imagine Pink Floyd going metal, this is how this album sounds to me.
Ok, here is mine.... and so glad as I heard in the Beginning you said that you will include The Devil you know! Love that Album very much. 1. Heaven and Hell 2. Mob Rules 3. Paranoid 4. Headless Cross 5. Master of Reality 6. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath 7. The Devil you know 8. Dehumanizer 9. Sabotage 10. Tyr 11. Eternal Idol 12. Black Sabbath 13. Born Again 14. Volume 4 15. 13 16. Never say Die 17. Technical Ecstasy 18. Seventh Star 19. Cross Purposes 20. Forbidden This has always been tough for me, but the Top Positions have remained. you see, I love Dio.... Anyway, Nice Ranking, very well done Darcy. As you can see, I am clearly worshipping RJD! For me, anytime I listen to Dio's music (no matter which Band...) I am a bit torn between celebrating the greatest Metal Singer of all Time (imho) and mourning that he is no longer there and I have not managed to see him live on stage. Anyway: I like that you pointed out some Songs I love; Bible Black, The Shining, Cross Purposes, Anno Mundi, Valhalla..... (more love for Tony Martin!)
Lots of Sabbath I don’t know and haven’t heard yet and most are in your low end of the rankings so all good. Love Bible Black but the rest of the album is pretty average for me. Headless Cross is a hard rock/metal/doomy masterpiece imo🤘since reacquainting with it again recently I have spun it lots. Great undertaking mate 🤘🤘
I was lucky enough to see Black Sabbath in 2013 supporting their 13 album. What an incredible show, one I will remember forever. I feel bad for ozzy not being able to tour anymore, but his influence and legacy will last forever.
During Vol.4 Sabbath went to USA and started to use more and more heavy drugs and their music became more and more incomprehensible with each album with the highest peak of that direction on NSD, and then the saviour came.
Another great ranking video, Darcy!🙏🏼 I definitely need to revisit several albums from their catalog. Master of Reality is my favorite Ozzy era. I can’t argue with your #1 and #2. They’re my favorites as well. Although trying to choose between H&H and Mob Rules makes my brain hurt! They’re both perfect IMO. 🤘🏼🍻
Great video Darcy! Quite a discography to tackle! My ranking is quite a bit different as I am an Ozzy era fan first and foremost. The first 6 albums are my top 6. After that the first two Dio albums and then I’ll need to think about it to complete a ranking. Your least favorites are close to mine, except I would rate 13 quite a bit higher. Keep up the good work!
20: Seventh Star 19: 13 18: Forbidden 17: Never Say Die 16: Technical Ecstasy 15: Tyr 14: Sabotage 13: Vol. 4 12: Cross Purposes 11: The Devil You Know 10: Headless Cross 9: The Eternal Idol 8: Paranoid 7: Black Sabbath 6: Heaven And Hell 5: Mob Rules 4: Master of Reality 3: Born Again 2. Dehumanizer 1: Sabbath Bloody Sabbath I enjoyed your video so much! I laughed at your bottom four, as they're the same as mine but in a different order. I wrote my list up before watching this video and man, I'll tell you, it's great to see some love for albums other than just the Ozzy Years. Don't get me wrong, I like a lot of it, but Sabbath has such a diverse history with so many talented singers and musicians playing on the records. I'm 42 and got into the music in the early 90s. I bought SBS and Dehumanizer on cassette, I can't remember which was first, but both around the same time. I had no idea about Heaven & Hell, Paranoid, etc, so those albums were my favorites then and remain my Top Two (and to be fair, they're almost 1a and 1b for me).
Nice assortment in your Top 10! I’m sure you’re aware of the Tony Martin era set coming out in May, I’m actually looking forward to hearing the remixed version of Forbidden. Thanks for watching & sharing your ranking 🤘 Cheers from Canada
Great ranking. For such an important band . My personal favorites are Sabotage, The Mob Rules, Eternal Idol. I totally agree, Strange Highways sounds like (a beautiful) "sequel "of Dehumanizer. Megalomania: i also absolutely agree, GREAT song, the riff, the compose, the vocals, the aggressiveness, the progressive tone, fantastic .
Thanks Alan! We’ll have figure out a smaller discography to cover the next time I hang out with you guys haha. Hope you have a great summer 🤘 Cheers from Planet6Strings
I would have put HEAVEN AND HELL and MOB RULES as my top 2 Sabbath albums, as well. Getting that Tony Martin box set has been the highlight of my year, so far. And being able to play HEADLESS CROSS whenever I want is making me love it more and more.
The Devil You Know is one of my top five Sabbath albums (it counts). It brings Dio's increasing heaviness from his later Dio band albums to Tony and Geezer's thunderous strings. That style bled into 13 too. I would say the rest of the favs are Heaven and Hell, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Mob Rules and Born Again. Vol. 4 and Master of Reality are also big favs. So much history!
One cool thing about Sabbath Bloody Sabbath is the cover. Drew Struzan illustrated the cover, which shows the death of an evil man. As he lays dying, the demons come to torment him and take him to hell. The companion artwork depicts the death of a good man, who is surrounded by his loved ones and guardian lions, with angels and a spectral figure come to take him to heaven. Interestingly, Struzan modeled both figures on himself. Everyone knows the cover, but its 'good man' companion less so.
Haha yeah there was no way that #1 would be a surprise to you or any of the “usual suspects” haha. Hope your having a great summer, I’m about to go chase a small white ball around for 18 holes, my wife said I have to go 🤣
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493I spent an entire week with the wife and kids on our last travel, with no metal at all 😂😂😂😂. Still managed to enjoy some cd shopping thank God 😂.
Ozzy fans deep down know that Heaven and Hell is Sabbath's best album! great ranking....we're pretty similar allthough I have Never Say Die a bit higher up.
I also saw the HEaven and Hell tour with MEgadeth in Ottawa... funny story: the radio station in Ottawa said that Down would not show up due to being stuck at the border (or something like that) and i told my friend that who was going there for Down anyway mostly... so we go to the show (me and an other friend) and notice that Down is playing! Shit! And who do i see arrive at their seats on Down's LAST song of the night? My buddie who decided to show up later because I had told him Down wasn't playing tonite... boy did I feel small that night!... LOL
1. Seventh Star - Glenn is amazing. Iommis solos are stellar. the guitar phrasing is Iommis best because he went back to the blues 2. Headless Cross 3. Mob Rules 4.Tyr 5. Born Again - The heaviest and loudest Sabbath album
Black Sabbath is my favorite band of all time. They got me into hard rock/ heavy metal back in June 1973. Paranoid, Heaven and Hell, The Devil You Know, Mob Rules, Black Sabbath, Eternal Idol, Born Again, Vol. 4, Master of Reality, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, are my favorites. 🤘
My top 10 are the 1st 6 with Ozzy, 1st 2 with Dio, 7th Star and Eternal Idol. Honorable mentions, Devil You know, Tyr, Born Again. And there's good stuff on Dehumanizer and Never Say Die...and Technical Ecstasy. I rank Cross Purposes and Forbidden and 13 at the bottom. Hated most of Headless Cross.
Very cool that you put "Tyr" up pretty high. I m a little younger than you and discovered Sabbath thru this album, and love it til this day. Don t really understand why it kinda gets dismissed sometimes. I think it s a killer!
Everybody’s younger than me 😂 Well that’s a good album to get into Black Sabbath on, it’s fantastic! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment, always appreciated 🤘 Stay Heavy ~ Darcy
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 Well I was born in 1975. So, yes. Just a little younger. Enjoyed the Video. Keep em coming! Have you heard the Anno Domini Box Set yet? I got it a couple of weeks ago, and I think they did a great job with the remasters and the remix of Forbidden. Cheers from Munich, Germany!
Thank you very much! Definitely some great albums with Tony Martin on vocals, I’m hoping the talked about box set does see the light of day. Thanks for watching 🤘 Cheers from Canada
It’s nice to see Born Again and Headless Cross ranked so high. Surprising to me that The Devil You Know was ranked so low, and Mob Rules and Sabotage ranked so high.
Hi,the rune in the middle of the title of tyr,are in both futark's a m,so the title is tmr for whatever reason.Sabotage-Vol IV-Masters of Reality-S/T-Born Again-Paranoid agree with the commentary that iron man stuck in the grey matter,in an unpleasant annoying way😅
Damn, it's quite common to rank Forbidden at the bottom. I just listened to the whole album for the first time now that the remix is out and I gotta say, it's a pretty decent album with some memorable songs like Can't Get Close Enough, Rusty Angels, and Kiss of Death. I know many criticized it for the production, but the new one fixed it and Ice T only sings a spoken verse on The Ilusion of Power, which apart from Tony's odd singing, has some great doomy riffs. I'd personally rank it higher than Never Say Die, Cross Purposes and 13 (maybe higher than others, but I am not too sure).
I just got my Anno Domini box set the other day & I gotta say the remix of Forbidden is a game changer! They’re no way it’s at the bottom anymore! What a great set, finally Tony Martin gets some well-deserved recognition. Thanks for watching 🤘 Cheers from Canada
This is one of my absolute favorite bands but I have to be honest about something the first five albums to me are the absolute best self-titled paranoid master of reality volume 4 in Sabbath bloody Sabbath! Hands down the best 👍🤘💯 by the way love that iron maiden poster in the background looks like somewhere in Time I'm not sure but that's what it looks like
Hello mr hardrocker Just wanted to say it is something with your first love and therefore I like nr one the best (nr 4 and 13) also good. Have you ever tried to play a record backwards? Greetings from Stockholm...
Thanks for giving Tony Martin some credit. He is my fave singer in BS. I much prefer Dio and Ozzy solo. I rank Headless cross number one in my world!!! Keep rocking!!!
eat ranking! Some discographies I hope to see you rank: Queen Thin Lizzy Rainbow Deep purple Whitesnake My top 5 Heaven and hell Vol 4 Master of reality Mob Rules Paranoid
I got into Sabbath just after Priest, so that would be about 1977. Volume 4 was the first Sabbath album that I bought and I still have all of the first 8 on vinyl. Never Say Die, which I bought on the day of release, does hold some nostalgic memories for me, but I would rate it below Heaven and Hell and Mob Rules. I have the Tony Martin CDs but I couldn't name a track off any of them! But you got me listening to Jugulator after a dozen or more years so these could be next? I would struggle to place Born Again anywhere but amongst the top 10 of my worst albums and I have thousands! I missed seeing Sabbath in 78 but saw them with Dio in 1980 and Blizzard of Oz in the same year. Then I saw them on the reunion tour in 1997. Sabbath remain one of my favourite bands.
I won’t argue that, I love those 3 albums! Let’s keep our fingers crossed for some awesome Tony Martin era reissues, then the people that fell off the bus can jump back on lol. Thanks for watching 🤘 Cheers from Canada
I've always loved the non Ozzy albums more. Agree that the Tony Martin and Dio albums are so underrated. When Death Calls and Anno Mundi are two of my most favorite tracks EVER!
The import version of "Headless Cross" has an amazing song called "Cloak and Dagger" it was also available on the 12" single. Give it a listen if you haven't heard it.
I agree Heaven and Hell is their finest work. I also agree Sabotage is their best work with Ozzy.
1983 was a great year for Sabbath members. Born Again, Bark at the Moon, Holy Diver? Some great stuff there.
Just heard they are re-issuing the Tony Martin era stuff. Sweet.
I saw that, I will pull the trigger as soon as I see the pre-order! Can’t wait 🤘
My favorite: Mob Rules (with Dio), The Eternal Idol (with Tony Martin) and Technical Ecstasy (with Ozzy).
Sabotage, probably my favourite metal album of all time! Thanks for the video. 🙂
I love that album too! Your welcome & thank you for watching 🤘 Cheers from Planet6Strings
I like born again too
The Martin era is criminally underrated imho.
@@richrivers1232 I think it started well, but to me tyr was weaker and then cross purposes and forbidden.
Trash
Glad to see the Tony Martin albums ranked higher than a few Ozzy albums.
Had been done! Hope that box set comes out soon, some real gems here people need to visit or re-visit! 🤘 Stay Heavy ~ Darcy

the best album
"Hole in the Sky" and "Symptom of the Universe" alone are worth the price of the album.

Suffers from a terrible cover but great on the inside.
I've only really listened to the Ozzy albums. Don't have Technical Ecstasy.
The line up changes, shitty artwork etc,
Great video Darcy!!
Excellent ranking Darcy. Great effort you put out in there. Happy to see that both Tyr and Headless Cross are getting appreciated. Those 2 are my favourite Black Sabbath albums. Yes, blasphemy to many, but Tony Martin is one hell of a singer! Cheers.

Great band, hard to rank but here it goes
1. Sabotage (1975)
2. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (1973)
3. Heaven and Hell (1980)
4. Paranoid (1970)
5. Volume 4 (1972)

Great rankings video Darcy.👍
take care brother.🤘🍺
Some of the Tony Martin era just gets sloughed off as subpar Black Sabbath, it’s just not true! I’m hoping for a nice box set that, hopefully that appeals to more fans that have not given that era a chance. Cheers my metal brother 🤘 Have a great week

Thank you very much & thank you for the kind words 🤘 Cheers from Canada
Great video Darcy. Eternal idol, Tyr and Headless Cross are fantastic albums. They are not even underrated, but straight up disrespected.
Only forbidden and never say die are insufficient in my opinion.

Thanks my friend 🤘
1. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
2. Master of Reality
3. Paranoid
4. Technical Ecstasy
5. Heaven and Hell
these are my top 5.
I was guilty of not giving Technical Ecstasy a fair shake over the years, I’m glad I see it different now! Thanks for sharing your Top 5 🤘 Cheers Alex
I put the album 13 in the top six of their albums. To me it does have loved throwback riffs and leads and I think that's why I like. And that's also why we have a dialogue about music so we can appreciate each those differences. Keep rocking my friend
Absolutely loved this video and ranking Darcy! With the large discography it's great to see different views on Black Sabbaths catalog! 🤘👍
Hi Darcy!! cool ranking and great job doing the list and including H&H too, i also got the chance to see them live with Ronnie and then twice with Ozzy (13/Farewell), three great shows. I still need to get the rest of their studio albums with Tony Martin and Glen Hughes and let's hope those reissues make those record sound the way they were supposed to be. cheers
That's a great ranking, probably because it is similar to mine:
1. Mob Rules (1981)
2. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (1973)
3. Heaven and Hell (1980)
4. Sabotage (1975)
5. Paranoid (1970)
6. Master of Reality (1971)
7. Dehumanizer (1992)
8. Volume 4 (1972)
9. Born Again (1983)
10. Black Sabbath (1970)
11. Headless Cross (1989)
12. Tyr (1990)

18. 13 (2013)
19. Technical Ecstacy (1976)
20. Forbidden (1995)
Thanks Kevin 🤘 That’s a pretty damn good ranking too, thanks for sharing!
1. Heaven and Hell
2. Mob Rules
3. Headless Cross
4. Eternal Idol (Ray Gillen vocals version)
5. Tyr
6. Dehumanizer
7. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
8. Vol. IV
9. Master of Reality
I think my top 5 would be:
1. headless cross
2. master of reality
3. mob rules
4. heaven and hell
5. black sabbath
20. Forbidden
19. Eternal Idol
18. Cross Purposes
17. Seventh Star
16. Never Say Die
15. TYR
14. 13
13. Headless Cross
12. Technical Ecstasy
11. The Devil You Know
10. Dehumanizer
9. Born Again
8. Paranoid
7. Black Sabbath
6. Mob Rules
5. Master of Reality
4. Heaven and Hell
3. Vol. 4
2. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
1. Sabotage
Very true! Also often the first album you hear of a band remains your favorite.
1. Heaven and Hell
2. Dehumanizer
3. Mob Rules
4. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
5. Vol. 4
6. Headless Cross
7. Sabotage
8. Cross Purposes

Sabbath Bloody Sabbath , Heaven and Hell and Born Again best Black Sabbath albums for me .Thank you Black Sabbath for the great music .
Those are great choice & great albums! Thanks for the comment & thanks for watching 🤘 Cheers from Canada
Excellent ranking, Darcy. My top 3 are the same as yours, but I after that, we differ quite a bit. 😉. Enjoyable videio. Cheers 🍻🤘
My two favorites are:
Paranoid - Despite many of the songs being so overplayed in my youth, I still love the title track, Iron Man, War Pigs, etcetera (I always forget how good the latter half of Iron Man is, the solo is great)
Electric Funeral is also a favorite of mine
Love the mix as well, and it's a perfect length album, I like my albums shorter, 30-40 minutes.
Great job Darcy, I enjoyed this a lot. Cheers
Thanks James 🤘 It was nice going through these albums again, sure hope they honor the Tony Martin era with a cool box set!
Hi! I absolutely agree with your ranking! Ronnie James Dio periode is also my favorite one! Thanks a lot for this video!
1. Heaven and Hell
2. Mob Rules
3. Paranoid
4. Headless Cross

19. Cross Purposes
20. Forbidden
This has always been tough for me, but the Top Positions have remained. you see, I love Dio....
Solid ranking. A few surprises here for sure. Master of Reality and Volume 4 are probably my favorites. Forbidden is definitely last for me.

Excellent ranking bro I have the opportunity to see the band live 1999,2001 and the farewell tour 2016
I know they are both so good, just give your brain a break & call it a tie lol. Thanks as always my friend 🤘 Have a great week :))
The Devil You Know is sooooo underrated. Great SABBATH album

I enjoyed your video so much!
Thank you very much! Nice variety in your Top 3, all awesome albums 🤘 Cheers from Canada

Nice ranking Darcy! Tough catalog to rank given the different eras and vocalists.

@@BrainPollution I’m with you, I just love the new Black Sabbath box set! Thanks for watching 🤘 Stay Heavy ~ Darcy
Seventh Star - I actually pop in quite a bit and would reach for it long before 13 or Technical Ecstacy or even the played out debut record.
Great ranking buddy, even though I knew which album would be your number 1. I can’t say that I disagree 😬
Haha yeah there was no way that #1 would be a surprise to you or any of the “usual suspects” haha. Hope your having a great summer, I’m about to go chase a small white ball around for 18 holes, my wife said I have to go 🤣
I don't think Sharon wants you to call "The Devil You Know" a Black Sabbath album. ;)
Well you know what she can do lol. Thanks for watching 🤘 Take care ~ Darcy
Who cares what Sharon wants.
I totally enjoyed your ranking. Sabbath has always been my all time favorite band.
Thanks very much Mike 🤘 Stay Heavy ~ Darcy
Excellent Black Sabbath ranking, Darcy! This must've been really difficult to rank.
Not as difficult as driving in a car with my wife for 5 hours without some Metal 😂 Cheers Tony
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493I spent an entire week with the wife and kids on our last travel, with no metal at all 😂😂😂😂. Still managed to enjoy some cd shopping thank God 😂.

@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 Thanks 😊 🤘!
Ozzy fans deep down know that Heaven and Hell is Sabbath's best album! great ranking....we're pretty similar allthough I have Never Say Die a bit higher up.
Good list and good description overall. I’ve heard most of them. Tough to argue. Great catalog from them for sure 🤘🤘🤘
Glad you enjoyed it! Time consuming but a lot of fun going through ever album once more. Thanks for watching 🤘 Cheers Michael
I am absolutely waiting for a Born Again remix. I think it's on the way, since they recently released a new Live Evil, which came before it.
That’s what I’m hoping for too! Thanks for watching Eric 🤘 Cheers from Canada
Iommis solos are stellar. the guitar phrasing is Iommis best because he went back to the blues
2. Headless Cross
3. Mob Rules
4.Tyr
5. Born Again - The heaviest and loudest Sabbath album
After hearing Jorn Lande playing with Heaven and Hell after Dio died, Wish we got a 2nd Heaven and Hell cd with Jorn Lande on vocals.
They're one of my favorite bands - and my 1-2-3 are Heaven & Hell, Mob Rules, and Headless Cross. Love Ozzy but those are my top 3.
Nice job. We are all patiently waiting for your Iced Earth ranking.
Yes.....definitely hoping that will come to pass.@@darcysixstringsninelives3493
It’s nice to see Born Again and Headless Cross ranked so high. Surprising to me that The Devil You Know was ranked so low, and Mob Rules and Sabotage ranked so high.
I love all the albums besides 13....I would put Heaven And Hell in the First position too
Hi,the rune in the middle of the title of tyr,are in both futark's a m,so the title is tmr for whatever reason.Sabotage-Vol IV-Masters of Reality-S/T-Born Again-Paranoid agree with the commentary that iron man stuck in the grey matter,in an unpleasant annoying way😅
Spot on … great list! We agree on number 1!
Eternal idol and tyr are some of my favorite black sabbath albums.

For me TYR, Headless Cross and Heaven and Hell are the best BS albums they ever wrote!
😂😂 well that's not black Sabbath then
