In March this year I bought a CZ 457 MTR with a 20" barrel. It is one of the best .22lr rifles I have ever owned. Sub 0.5 moa at 50 and 100 yards, shooting SK rifle match.
They tend to ba tac drivers
Only problem with the MTR is it’s not available in a LH version. The stock is a dedicated RH.
Finally found a MTR last week. I'm going to start with Yodave trigger spring and go from there.
Question: You used the word "polished" many times when referring to the bolt and trigger. Would you please explain the process, tools and materials you use to do this? Thanks. JimE
Love my cz 457 varmint mtr. It likes the armscor 36gr hp ammo, cheap, but think it could do better with lapua or other ammo.
each barre is differnt you never know
I have the CZ457 in the Varmit Precision Chassis and I LOVE that rifle. I run it in NRL and PRS competition and it has not once had a malfunction. Smooth action, very very very accurate. I would recommend a CZ457 to everyone! Its a complete joy to shoot.
Great rifles
Thanks for sharing!!! Rodney!!! Outstanding riffle!!
Thanks for watching!
Finally, someone who has pointed out the problem with the laser etching on the underside of the bolt on all CZ457 models. I've owned almost a dozen CZ457's and the first thing I do is exactly what this gentleman did, smooth out the raised metal etching on the bolt and then polish the entire bolt it to mirror finish. The difference is night and day. I use a green scotch pad on die grinder to take down the rough edges. And no worries, the serial number on the bolt is still very legible after this this full task is completed.
Makes a huge difference why cz doesn’t do it is beyond me
Good to know as l just recently picked up the MTR & a Lux 22wmr .
You are not going to shoot out a .22 barrel
Not likely but it has been done.
Thanks for sharing thinking of picking one of these up trying to look into a few things for it do you know or could measure space between the two sling mounts and are they tapped or just wood screws🤔Thanks if have time.
