isn’t that the truth. always at the mercy of lot #s. My CZs historically love Wolf Match Target and SK Rifle Match. they are no longer the same stuff. I get fantastic lots followed by lots that are ho-hum.
Great job Buffalo. 22 ammo is tough Varies from lot to lot Some lots are better than others You just don't know till you pull the trigger Thanks for sharing 👍
Folks, these digital targets they send with these guns from the factory are NOT actual "accuracy" tests. Just a test showing it was fired before shipping them. My most recent CZ457LUX came with the paper target, and it wasn`t even close to showing how accurate the gun is. At 50yds, a dime covers my 5 shot bullseye groups. The paper target sent with my 457 were showing 2 inch groups at best on paper, right out of the factory. In addition, different ammos react differently as well. So what it comes down to, is that these paper targets sent with your gun dont mean sh!t. Its just a test firing, that is all.
My CZ 457 At-One varmint factory test target has a 6mm dispersion and was also shot with RWS 40 gr. After posting pics of my rifle and test target on the CZ Facebook page I'm a member of, several guys on there commented that it was the best factory test target they've seen. I know it's just a function test target and could be a straight up fluke but it really is an accurate little rifle. With some SK pistol match that I was able to luck up on I shot a couple of consecutive 5 round ragged hole groups at 50 yards. I was thoroughly Impressed with that. Typically I'm plinking with with federal auto match and can hit tiny targets consistently within 100 yards. I love it.
Aaron Johnson, I'd rather have a rifle that shoots Federal Automatch into tiny holes, than have a rifle that only shoots high dollar ammo well. Sounds like you got a great one!!! Better hang on to that one.
My 457 (in a Boyd's pro varmint stock, 24in barrel) was shooting as advertised sub MOA at 50m but the groups fell apart at 100m (4in groups) and 200m (8in groups). But after bedding the reciver and the first three inches of the barrel it's much improved and shooting sub MOA at 100m and 2MOA at 200m. I'm talking .80in at 100m! Bedding is a much cheaper option to a chassis. I think you might be impressed with the consistency a bedded 457 feels. I used epoxy putty and it was easy compared to traditional epoxy compound and clay dams. Bedding your 457 would make an interesting video.
i have go to brands but i worry about the reliability and velocity more then group sized because i use it to plink and reliability in the gun as well as in the gun that cz is a naildriver of a 22
Great video thanks. The dealer and I tested my CZ 457 Varmint MTR off a competition rest with RWS R50 when I bought the rifle and we beat the test fire sheet it came with. Like you said RWS R50 is superb ammo and hard to find now for sure but will be getting more when available. I am also seeing some really nice groups out of mine with CCI Std. Velocity, glad it likes them because that's the bulk of what I have on hand.
They are amazingly accurate, aren't they? Every CZ 452 or 455 rifle I have seen has been pretty good just as they came out of the box, and usually much better than the factory proof target, but these 457 Varmint MTR rifles have been really, really good! The best factory target I have ever seen was in a 457 Varmint Precision Chassis MTR with the green chassis and the orange trigger guard. That one had a factory test target with all five holes overlapping and the group was less than .13 at 50 meters!! They also had a 457 LRP model with a gray painted laminated wood stock that was also very accurate with its short, fluted barrel. It is really too bad that they discontinued that model so quickly, but this wood stocked Varmint MTR is no slouch either! I think they will shoot better than anything else at their price...
Buff, I love watching you shoot that rifle. I am building me that same gun to shoot 100 yd targets when I retire in a few years. Have the rifle, trigger job and 30 moa rail. Saving money now for a quality scope. Please try this ammo on your 25 round group, I enjoyed every video on the other 10.
Another fine job of shooting. As always, your video is entertaining, informative and easy to watch. I always look forward to them even if I don't have a dog in the fight that day.
Heck my 457 American/ suppressor ready shoots clover leafs at 50yds with cheap federal bulk pack! It’s amazing how we these CZ’s do right out of the box compared to other rimfires around their price range.
Good shooting and video. I need to get some of the RWS ammo to check out my 457 MTR group comparison from the factory. Haven’t tried anything but cheap in it. Thanks for the video
My best .22lr groups I ever shot was outdoors at 103 yards I got 1-inch groups using Eley Target out of my cheap $200 Savage Mark II with Vortex Cooperhead 4-12x44
you younger generation measure differently than us older generation and it’s quiet all right . we measured out side to out side at widest part . but iam a old dog that likes new tricks and still learning. that’s fine shooting. you are a marksman and a rifleman. I only complement someone with that title who earned and proven there self . you prove yourself every video with whatever you shoot . I was that once time , age . health has cropped up on me . but I still do pretty good at times . I hope great things go you and your family. Nana and papa the hunter wishing you well.
I just put 5 shots into one ragged hole at 50yds with Wolf match ammo. This was the older stuff under Lapua. I haven’t tried any of the newer Wolf since Eley took them over.
Great video and very interesting. I guess we all like to compare ourselves to those sheets when they happen to come with a new firearm. I'm gonna have to be on the lookout again for that RWS. Great shooting Buffalo. Stay safe. 👍
I never heard of that animal I'd like to get me some of that and run through my Marlin 60 and see if it does better than what I'm using now, good shooting and as always keep up the good work I do appreciate your your work that you do
Thank you for this very nice video and congratulations for your very impressive shooting! With such performances, you and your rifle can compete in ISSF smallbore rifle, against way more expensive rifles. The difficulty will be that only slings and peep sights are allowed.
I BOUGHT A USED MTR JUST NOW, SO I GUESS I WILL NEVER KNOW, BUT MY AT-1 24 INCH GROUP LOOKS AMAZING AND ONE OF THE MAIN REASON OF BUYING IT!!😉👉 NOW I HAVE TO GRAB A MICROMETER AND MEASURE MY GROUP, STAY PUT!!!
Good shooting! I love my CZ 457. I shoot SK Standard Plus in mine. I have never shot any RWS in my CZ 457 or any of my other .22 LR rifles. I may have to try it, if I can find some.
i have the 557 Varmint in .308 which is also a tack driver. With hand loads my best group is .3 MOA but less than .5 is the average. (175gr SMK over AR Comp). I really want this MTR too I just don’t have a use for it right now.
I have a 17 HMR and it only likes two kinds of ammo Winchester and Hornady I've tried CCI and it just can't hold a group. I'm thinking of getting a benchrest 22 to shoot competition locally. And this rifle is one of the ones in looking at. I hunt with the 17 but haven't seen any competition shooting with that caliber? Unfortunately.
Sk rifle match, lapua center-x and eley match tend to be awesome thought the mtr's. Mine likes eley, my brother's likes lapua, guaranteed one of those ammo types will give you FAR better groups than that. Also I noticed with your other videos comparing ammo through your cz the temperature varies quite a bit. Usually 22lr rounds are pretty temperature sensitive, my cz 457 mtr loves sk biathlon below 50° and doesn't shoot eley match very well at low temperatures but above 50 it loves it and sk biathlon doesn't shoot very well, might be something to explore in the future
I never looked at what type of ammo was used in all of they target sheets supplied with each CZ455/457 I've purchased. However, the results I've achieved might explain why my CZ's like 40gr BBM which is made by RWS in Germany.
The bane of exceptionally accurate rimfires, sourcing ammo that is at all above big-box store grade.
isn’t that the truth. always at the mercy of lot #s. My CZs historically love Wolf Match Target and SK Rifle Match. they are no longer the same stuff. I get fantastic lots followed by lots that are ho-hum.
I have a feeling you could have beaten it using some old Remington Thunderbolts. Great shooting!
Or eley match hehe
Don't think so. Remington is "ok-ish" but not 10mm over 50 meter.
@@L.V-Rider He was kidding. Thunderbolt is trash.
@@JoeArenare is eley match bad? I thought their stuff was decent?
Yeah they run good through almost anything
Great job Buffalo. 22 ammo is tough Varies from lot to lot Some lots are better than others You just don't know till you pull the trigger Thanks for sharing 👍

@@lmbearTry Magtech standard velocity. It shoots similarly to Auto match in my rifle.

I think you'll get close. They likely did that from a rest / vice, which is hard to beat. I do have faith in your ability to do it though.
I think they just use a photo copy of best group for all.
Which is terrible for shooting
@@MrJtin69 I agree. You can't beat a good sand bag.
Mighty fine shooting Buffalo and in case I haven't mentioned it congratulations on 100k subscribers. Highly deserved 👍👍
I’ve been looking seriously at the cz457 .22mag. This video makes the decision pretty much a no brainer. Thanks
I was surprised to see you not single loading each round. Also your walk to the target eliminates people questioning swapping of targets.
I'm a newbie. What is the advantage of hand loading each round?
Great video thanks. The dealer and I tested my CZ 457 Varmint MTR off a competition rest with RWS R50 when I bought the rifle and we beat the test fire sheet it came with. PS: I cleaned up a couple spammers for you.
Great to see the MTR out on the range again. Thanks

✌🏼😎👍🏼

That RWS R50 is really good stuff!
I have a very small stash of it. I wish I had more of it even though I don't actually need it.
Hi everyone, I can say CZ make some very good gun.
I personally have the CZ 453 22lr varmint barrel and it group very well.
Heck my 457 American/ suppressor ready shoots clover leafs at 50yds with cheap federal bulk pack! It’s amazing how we these CZ’s do right out of the box compared to other rimfires around their price range.
Nice shooting, nice ammo and nice gun! A CZ is sure on my list.
You can beat it my freind
Thanks Buffalo. Good to see the CZ 457 back in action. I really enjoyed your original series on this rifle, caused me to go out and buy one!!!😀😀
Great video. Great shootin Buffalo.
Walking to the target is good for you 👍🙂
Good shooting and video. I need to get some of the RWS ammo to check out my 457 MTR group comparison from the factory. Haven’t tried anything but cheap in it. Thanks for the video
when you are measuring same diameter holes. edge to edge is the same as center to center, and it takes the guess work out of an approximate center!
You know that you are really doing something when you have to break out the Mitutoyo! Good Shooting Buffalo

I beat my Weatherby Mark V test target, but i used my handloads, using the same bullet they used, instead of the factory ammo they used.
I just put 5 shots into one ragged hole at 50yds with Wolf match ammo. This was the older stuff under Lapua. I haven’t tried any of the newer Wolf since Eley took them over.

I'm gonna have to be on the lookout again for that RWS. Great shooting Buffalo. Stay safe. 👍
Fine shooting, my friend! I'd have been shocked by anything else!
Midway USA has it in stock
i like cz have a 457 scout 22lr and i bought a 22mag 20" barrel,easy switch,also a 512 22lr carbine.both shoot really well for me,good vid

man you can shoot
That is some great shooting! I'd like to see you shoot through some Lifesavers with that rifle ammo combination 😉
That's a nice trick! What rifle/ammo combo do you use for that?
Don’t think that would beat, Standard Plus!
You already know my opinion. Nice job Buffalo!!
Nice shooting Buffalo.
That is a nice group. I’m sure the squirrels around your property are spreading the news. 😉
I use cci minimag 36 grain varmint cphp. In all my 22s they group less then a clover. Good stuff.
ELEY SUBSONIC HP's (Green Box) Is The BEST 50yd Target Ammo... I Use A TASCO 1/8 Dot Scope... Nice Group's, U Need To Come Up 8 Click's...

I have the varmit,varmint, it's the most accur5ridle I have ever shot!
Very nice shooting.
When measuring groups, if you go from the same edge of the farthest (furthest?) shots you don't have to guess where the centers are.
Nice shootin.
Great shooting! 😊👍
Great shooting! I just put a 17hmr lilja barrel on my 455. Accurate 👍
Not gonna like I clicked because of the sweet thumbnail haha
Nice job, I hope you find some too. I have the same rifle with a Strike Eagle 5x25 x56.great gun.
I think they are the best bang for the buck
Great Stuff buffalo - I use RWS R50 here in the uk its the dogs danglies :D keep up the great work

Buffalo, Michigan Keith here hope your doing well quick question what rail you have on the cz for the scope thanks

Bear down on that squirrel gun.
Buffalo, can you please tell me what brand and size of carport you have over your shooting bench. I need one badly.
Great video!
as always good shooting
Your groups will become smaller when you keep yours eyes down range and use the mags to reload, and when you find the ammo your CZ likes the best
Nice shooting buffalo!!!
