Let’s not forget having hdr tone mapping on creates a higher input lag. I was told this 1st hand from a Sony rep that was at Best Buy while I was picking up my a90j.
You're correct. Any extra video processing adds to the input lag on a panel. In the end it's up to you what you want to do. There is very little difference in input lag. It's not noticeable
@@diegoparodi1716 I’m not 100% sure of the numbers, but I know when I’ve messed with these settings it can be ever so slightly noticed. VRR has is supposed to reduce this on a ps5 and is also supposed to launch soon. The tv has received he he update. I play warzone and it feels really good with all of the raw settings. Once I start adding any processing it takes a way from that. I still looks absolutely amazing with out using the tone mapping. Or any other advanced processing.
Thanks for this. I wonder if this method holds true for the Series X as well. I will give it a shot. Regardless, games are looking amazing these days on the A90J!
I will say this Vincent haowed us to get true black on the ps5 yoy need to go 2 notches lower on the black adjust on the ps5 which is the 3/3 adjust hdr setting so when yoy see it dissappear go 2 notches lower if it allows you to it will be true black 0.00 and you will get even more depth def works looks great tho man awesome stuff
@@SpencersStuffTV thank you very much for the info just one more question would you say leaving it on contrast 90, is it actually more accurate for Sony TVs and do you leave smooth gradation on low or off sorry if I’m being annoying 😅
@@vegetasama8603 you're not annoying. I'm here to help! 90 will be more accurate for sure. I keep smooth gradation on low, but off is fine too. Decide what you like!
Yes. I'm my previous video I stated that brightness preferred caused abl to kick in too frequently for me for some of the games I play. I think gradation preferred is the best all around hdr solution for this tv when gaming

As far as I understand it, HGiG is implemented for some premium TVs with the latest firmware. Sony just doesn't call it HGiG because it's not a format/term like for example HDR. LG has chosen to name it HGiG but that is their call.

How much more inputlag there is with tone mapping on? I think the best inputlag of the TV is 15ms.

Absolutely beautiful TV mate.
It's been a great purchase. Sony knocked it out of the park this year with this panel

Competition breeds innovation and creativity. I don't wish for the series x to disappear. We need them in the market to keep Sony humble
Sony A90J here. I achieved this in exactly with 15 steps, but with HDR tone mapping off. Should I turn it back on after the HDR has been set?
Yes turn the gradation or brightness preferred back on
Thanks!!
would this apply also to a75k oled sony tv?
One question Why do you have Contrast on 100 it should be 90 Which leads to 15 clicks (1000) nits can you tell me which is correct?
I like to squeeze out a bit more peak white from the tv. It's really nothing more than preference. I believe 14 clicks is 1k nits
