Love the tech videos keep it up u give the audience satisfaction by telling them what they need to know in a simple way
Thank you very much for this very informative video! My tv looks very good now!
Great settings for the tv!✌️
Great content as always 👍 👊
Wow look at the colours! and sharpness, I can continue my nioh 2 playthru with this TV on Tuesday ❤️😁
Great video, thanks for helping me optimize my gaming setup!
Glad I could help!
God bless you man, almost had a heart attack when my stuff wasn't working
👌👍. I like to use reality creation ridiculously high and even it out w/sharpness lower. Makes the image look damn near 3D. Definitely a feature to play around with
Thanks for the video
I've said this many times but I'll say it again, OLED is just amazing!
Until it starts to get work and the screen begins to dim……..
Unless it has a Heat Sink or you can disable this horrible feature then many Oleds simply are not good for gaming because of this.
A90J and the G1 are the only two tvs I know as far as Oled here in the ISA that have very minimal dimming.
Regardless I would still take any top of the line non Oled tv for gaming and at times movie watching due to the higher peak brightness for hdr.
Contrast is excellent on Oleds , but they need to work on getting their brightness around 1000+ nits
@@tears2040 All I can say is I've been using my LG CX since May 2020 & up to this point the image quality is just gorgeous when gaming. I've never noticed any dimming till now.
I understand there is no perfect technology when it comes to TV, the important thing is that you like what you see on your TV that you bought.
I'm really looking forward to the next evolution of OLEDs, the QD-OLEDS & Micro LED. It's really exciting!
@@xBU11ETPROOFx i have the cx too, dont understand when people say its too dim,its even too bright for me at night
Yeah till you about 40+ hours balls deep into Red Dead Redemption 2 and notice those health and stamina cores on the bottom left hand of your screen have some permanent real estate on your panel
@@Neo_Rain146 well then don't get one if you do things like that
Thank you so much .❤️
Thank you! Just got this TV and the ps5 kept saying Hdr was not on, didn't have enhanced mode on. Thank you!
What TV do you have ? I just bought the A80J and it won’t let me use HDR and 4K together
Now that VRR is available. Will you do an update video?
vrr is already available in this tv. check updates in tv settings👍
Yes, I don't have it anymore but I'll be testing the newer models when they release.
Try smooth gradation off you will get more details in the picture. Nice tv 👍
Yep I game on my a90j more then my lg c9 just the image quality and look and then it feels one buttery smooth. Even my c9 has hiccups but my a90j never does. Also great job with the preference settings! As long as you use what you like that's what matters. I'm happy you are enjoying the a80j as much as I'm enjoying my sony oled.
Test reality creation higher my dude, it's insane when gaming.
Is this TV worth buying for gaming? How’s the gaming experience in FPS games?
And even the A90J suffers from dimming issues which reduces the picture quality even than the sh**ty LG G1. XDDD
You don't need it much on high resolution, otherwise it would cause artifacts I believe. But on low resolution.
@@YavNe reality creation in ganem mode works very well I don't usually use it high on anything else. Only gaming also reality creation isn't just a sharpness enhancer it truely brings out detail yoy didn't lnow was there. Test it on a star field next to another TV yoy can turn it uo and see extra stars pop up thT weren't there before. It's the first yesr reality creation has done this. It used to be purely for sharpness now it's pretty hard to oversharpen with it. Sometimes it can create issues on content but it's rare of course I'm not saying use it all the way up that's up to you. I'm just telling him and others to test it out that's all.
How high should I put reality creation ?
@@lionsden5123 it’s incredible. I’ve never owned an OLED and the picture is insane.
Nice video I now have a Sony TV series Brava x94j only I think it is very dark and grey have all adjustment settings and also messed around but cant enjoy it TV without HDR is stil dark too is the x93j or x95 or x90j better? hopefully I didn't make a bad purchase because I just got it home!
Hey I just got this TV and I was just wondering if I should set the input setting to 4k, Dolby, or vrr? Great video!
I would say VRR. That’s what I have mine at
I didn't have my TV before the vrr update so I wonder if anybody knows if the difference is significant. The games look smooth and beautiful to my uneducated eye
I have a question. Do you know what is the best settings for non HDR games? I already have the best settings for HDR games. I just want to know. Please and thank you.
Hola, ya no usas tu canal en español? Saludos!
This is a really a brighter tv? Because I’m worried if the screen looks to dark 😩 for movies and game..
Hi man!
Sometimes while playing or watching movies on my Sony a80j, the bezels (sometimes the left side and sometimes right side, but not both at the same time) become bigger, and when I return to the Home Menu the screen returns normal, do you think it is normal?
I can barely see something similar happens to yours, is it normal?
I like it Expert 1 just wish I could make it more bright X85j Sony i feel is too dark sometimes
How can I remove low latency mode? I can not disable the automatic image mode because it tells me that I have low latency mode activated.
Which HDMI connection port is the best for PS5 hdmi cable
So the question is .. if I am buying a TV today LG c1 or Sony A80J
I'm going to buy the a 80k should i do the same sitngs
on any sony tv which is best for gaming netural warm or expert 1
Just ordered the brand new A80J for 999USD on sale!
Thanks for the video. Can I get 120Hz and 4K with the new VRR setting in HDMI input post the latest Sony Bravia firmware update? I am trying to get 120 Hz on Doom Eternal and cant seem to get it.
Did you manage to figure it out if so how thanks
wich side is high live color?left yes?
but on picture look left and red color looks very bad.
i have recently turn on reality creation on my sony tv auto 20 for ps5 will this harm my picture outlet or hdr brightness
What are your settings for sdr gaming
I get “auto low latency mode” when using the ps5 n auto picture mode stays on with game picture mode being default?
IS there any black crush issues like losing details on dark areas?
Great tv! I own the 77” . What about the 1440p option? It’s says not supported…
Me too, if you find a way, let me know
Why picture setting is locked only for Game Mode ?? I can’t change that , any help ?
Quick question; Do you still have your input format to enhanced? Or did you change it since the VRR format came out with the new update? I just bought my first OLEDA80CJ 55” from Costco yesterday so I’m trying to calibrate it as much as i can for best gaming quality. Thanks!
Congrats on your new tv, I don't have it anymore and I didn't get a chance to test VRR.
@@JoelsterG4kHi, I have a Sony A95K, in game mode I see it as too dark, I wanted to know if I increase the contrast and put the super contrast at medium level, do I risk burning the TV because it's too bright?
looking to get the Sony 55 inch A80K OLED this year just waiting on a price and release date..and get rid of my LG CX finally..
Keep your CX, 100% is a better gaming Oled vs the Sony A80 models
@@tears2040 ..my cx has horrible uniformity..so I’m going to look at the 2022 Sony A80K model
ABL is more aggressive on Sony be carful, CX is awesome tv you’re not going to see any upgrade
I love gaming on my A80J. I’m gaming God of War Ragnarok and the hundreds of highlights against pitch black is so great with the OLED. The fast moving snow is also amazing with the pixel refresh times.
Yes Oleds look amazing, I love the picture and performance you get in one display.
Response time ?
5 ms or 1 ms
Have you experienced the annoying dimming while watching content or playing games?
Got mine yesterday, absolutely epic! …although maybe I shouldn’t have gone gone for the 77inch…its a bit intense 😅
Got the 65in the other day, absolutely loving it
Should put his settings ? Cause my ps5 lags on this tv
This or lg c2
Why does enhanced format not work for my ps5?
Need the a90k
Now there’s a new HDMI enhanced format (VRR) on the tv settings. should I turn VRR ON both on the PS5 and the TV? I have the exact same tv model. Thanks man.
Yes I turned it on with the enhanced setting on this TV with the latest update, picture looks good so far!
VRR is for fast response times from controller to screen once you try it and go back to Enhance 4k you can’t go back you will notice the delay only bad part about VRR is less image quality you lose graphics which are not so noticeable but over all is your taste
How do you deal with so much of the Ghosting around the characters all the time when moving camera
Finally I found someone who pointed out that, the ghosting around the character is crazy I wonder if it was because of his setting and can be avoided with other settings.
Should I buy 77a80j or 75qn91a(europe va panel)? I'm watching mailny in the evening netflix and hbo with subtitles.
I would go for the 77" Oled if you can control the ambient light or have a dark room, if you have windows or a bright room go for the Qled.
Hi just subscribed. love your comparison videos. I just have 2 questions. Sorry if this comment is gonna be long. So i just bought an sony 55” a80j last week from best buy for 1000$ in 4th of july deals (it was 1700$ before sale)and i got it for gaming. and so I don’t know if its only me or other notice this too when gaming. 1- so basically the first problem is that is dark. I played with the setting a bit but still a little dark. I don’t know if it normal on led tvs to be this dark cause my previous tv was not oled and 4k and have had it for around 6 years before got this a80j . Im not really a tv expert🤷♂️. 2- and second problem: the blurriness!!!! Its either Im not using the right setting for gaming that i get this blurriness or its just like that!! like if you look closely you can see the blurriness specially around the alphabets and words. Ive heard so much good reviews about this tv but the blurriness is absolutely crazy. Specially in fortnite. Buildings look awful. BUT GOTTA MENTION: that i tried both modes in external input settings (vrr mode and enhanced 4k mode) and both kinda had the same issue. Im really disappointed and don’t know to return this tv or no. I feel like im doing something wrong in either ps5 setting that causes this crazy blurriness or in the tv setting. ANY HINT OR ADVICE IS APPRECIATED
Hi Erfan, welcome to the channel, thank you for subscribing 😊, I didn't have those issues when I had this tv, I compared it with the C1 and the performed very similar, Oleds do tend to get dimmer compared to LED TVs. On the blurrynes, I would remove sharpness at all, it introduces particles, but other than that games and movies look amazing, I think I shared my settings in this video.
Granted it’s almost a year after you bought your A80J, Best Buy is now selling the A90J for $999 which I picked up. It’s my first OLED and Sony Master Series TV. I’ve never seen the A80J to compare as they are already of store floors. I can tell you that the A90J is plenty bright because I also have an X90J as well. It’s just as bright. Not sure if or when you’ll change but from at least 2022 models or newer, by the time you get a new OLED it should be plenty bright enough. Hope you are still enjoying your OLED OP.
Hey! I have exactly the same TV, so now we have one more HDMI options which is “VRR” so it’s better than “enhanced” format? Which one is the better for ps5?
Yes
Enhanced format (VRR)
How can I get rid of blurry backgrounds in Game Mode ?? It’s very disturbing to my eyes .
the best tv 2021 for ps5
That would be lg C1 And G1 then A90j then A80J
@@MrStrictlyOLED I’ve had both c1 isn’t close to Sony picture. That’s what happens when everyone pays attention to you tubers and doesn’t actually test them out themselves
@@justinsolum2834👍 truth!. So many followers and not owners. Sony will do it just as good as as LG and even better if u count overall picture quality even beyond games
@@MrStrictlyOLED I’ve tested both Sony A80J and the Lg C1 and without a doubt Sony is better.
@@MrStrictlyOLED the problem is that sdr games aren't good on the LG c1
1) the game presets are presets, they don’t change the game at all, they simply change the mode in which you play without going in the settings of the game (if you put performance and the game doesn’t have a performance mode it doesn’t change at all)
2) the panel is not meant to be put under max brightness and max peak luminescence for hours (that’s why there is an auto mode…), also the game looks only worse if you are in a really dark room with that settings, it will look overexposed to your eyes, the tv does all the work adjusting all the settings to have the best picture quality and to see better when you exit an in-game dark space or an in-game bright space
3) I don’t think the ps5 enhances the game to support hdr, but I’m not sure so I won’t complain much
4) the panel is not as bright as an lcd because it will use more electricity and heat up even more, also the pixels would wear out first, so there’s a limit of time to how many seconds they can reach the peak luminescence
5) the thing that you can control the ps5 with the tv’s remote can be done on every tv that has a hdmi e arc/arc, also you can set it up to turn on the tv with the ps5, the ps5 with the tv and the same thing turning them off
👍😁👍
Are these Sony OLEDS good with Xbox Series X though? Have you tested the A80J with Series X?
no they are not they look blurry and i have cx and c1 the mage is not clear especially if u sit close ... even with pc i have rtx 3090 the picture is not as people say it is...the tv is overated
@@razor19906 cap
@@Jordanfiend361 its facts u just gotta own both for long time to notice
@@razor19906 wait are saying the c1 is blurry or the a80j?
can the xbox series x work on this tv too ?
Yes absolutely, here is a video with the xbox. ruclips.net/video/hQlUaghyhTo/видео.html
LG C2 the best
Auto dimming sucks not bright enough with highlites. Ptefer lcd x95j or even better x95k
When is vrr coming for A90J
@@Quactro no it isn’t the A90J and A80J are still waiting but nothing. Sony said the end of the year and only certain tvs got vrr but neither of these two haven’t received it yet
@@Quactro Nah Sony lied again lmao
Bruh, I have the X90j and I’m still waiting for VRR and fix the video playback issues from hdmi sources :/
PS5 doesn't have VRR yet, Series X has it.
@@stephen_dav bruh, VRR isn’t missing exclusively on just the ps5 but even some of their TVs as well and I’m still waiting for that damn update :/
This TV has HDMI 2.1 port?
Yes 3 and 4 are 4k120hz.
Which is better for ps5 - HDMI 3 eArc or HDMI 4?
@@rooodzynn hdmi. Use arc for surround sound system
You owe me a new phone now. You told me to "smash the lime button" and I ended up breaking my phone 😡
👍👍
but why is game mode so DIM ???????? AND DULL ???????
you need to turn off light sensor
If only Sony did not utilize matte coating finish on the 55 and 65 inch models. The matte screen affects the contrast and produces blurry content compared to the glossy finish smh
Yes you are right, it still looks great but I prefer glossy finish coating.
It at all. It’s been perfect for me. You cnet have direct light on most oled regardless
#joelsterg4k over selling it LoL the tv might look good but your acting like your tv looks like Jennifer Lopez is wearing a bikini on a beach.
I got that picture in my head now lol, I wanna buy it 😄
