Just purchased TCL C805K what was confusing 120hz port was RGB colour could change to yuv 422 only alternative was change port used arc arc what was mind bogling is a 60hz port still the ps5 runs 120 hz in arc arc port & the colour wasn't RGB was yuv 422 very confusing
HE ALWAYS COOKS..I came in search of a solution to my Elgato capture card H60 x, and I must point out that you already know we have this problem...Subcribed
Great video, thanks!! Tell me, do you recommend leaving the rgb range in the ps5 settings on auto, and on the “black hdmi” TV also setting it to auto or full. But with this setting, black becomes gray, the picture is not contrasty, as if there is some kind of fog, the colors are blurry. I left it on auto on the ps5, and on the TV (Samsung q80b) I changed the “black hdmi” to low (limited) and the black became deep, the colors were rich, the fog was gone. If this is incorrect and the ranges must match for the correct color, but then how to make it more black and remove the fog, while leaving everything on auto (full rgb range)? There are many different opinions on this topic, many also like auto on PS5 and low range on TV. I want to understand how to make the right colors and at the same time deep black color.
Hi, some TVs and brands may get the wrong RBG range causing washed-out colors and lifted blacks, in those cases choose it manually on PS5 to fix the issue.
Great explanation ❤. how to know which ps5 games are hdr enabled? or how can we know that a recorded webm file is a HDR without uploading to RUclips. thanks
Hi, if you have HDR "on when supported" it'll be off for the games that don't support it and you can see in current video output information, but supporting HDR doesn't mean the game will look good, in fact, many games don't look good on HDR because of bad calibrations. first-party games such as GOW and Spider-Man 2 are fine. For Recording videos, it's best to turn off HDR, otherwise you need a PC to fix the color before uploading.
I recently purchased the LG UltraGear OLED 27GS95QE monitor and connected it to my PS5. I’d like to know the optimal resolution, PS5 settings, and monitor configurations to achieve the best performance, including higher frame rates, the best picture quality, and proper VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) functionality. Since the monitor supports HDMI 2.1 and can receive a 4K signal before downscaling it to fit its native resolution, what settings should I apply on both the PS5 and the monitor to maximize performance and visuals? Your guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Very very good details I've been playing with these settings for months😂 especially the deeper black with the HDR adjustment. Thank you so much good explanation I was confused. My LG monitor is 1440p connected to a PS5 with displays 4K because it's an automatic but I don't think it's native 4K. Okay thanks 👍
Hello. I'm new, and I'm only doing this once. I currently had a Hisense TV, UHD 4K, 50" A6H. Does this TV look familiar to you before? If you do, I did have a ps5 in my possession. If you can see this comment, please reply by giving me tips and tricks and your advice. Thank you.
I prefer sdr over hdr even though i have a 4k 65inch tv, hdr makes everything washed out even with the settings you showed, maybe its just me but I prefer sdr, it looks way more crispier
Hi Daniel! I am currently using a entry level LG 4K60hz UHD TV Hdmi 2.0. Currently the output is 4K yuv422. Do you think i should go with 1440p Hdr RGB? Since i am not using a OLED tv? Thank you so much! New subscriber here!!
Hi! The Native resolution typically has the lowest input lag in monitors, as most PS5 games also run on lower resolutions than 4k most of the time (almost every game is barely 1440p in performance mode) I'd choose 1440p for lower input lag and full RGB, but in some rare cases where the game is Native 4K, you may get a sharper picture if you use 4K and if there's not a noticeable delay or if you don't play competitive games, that's a good choice.
Happy new year my friend. Please help. For samsung Q60B 11 clicks with sun visible (tv peak brightness) or 15 with sun invisible? As you know the tv has tone mapping always on with no option to disable it. Also has an option called Game hdr(something like hgig on samsung tvs) which i have it off because it makes the picture more dark. What do you recommend?
Hi, as it doesn't affect and won't work with PS5 VRR, there's no improvement, you can keep it on either, as far as I checked it won't affect input lag either on a G27Q.
My TV is 4k... when I leave the PS5 at 2160p it is much clearer than when I set it to automatic... Why does this happen? It's not just in games, it's even notable in the console menu. In both options, the console reports that it is 4k.
VRR prevents tearing, in COD the FPS is pretty stable when not fighting, and small drops occasionally, you can expect a few frame tearing when engaging in a fight with +3 people and higher FOVs.
So, a little question.. I have an lg g2. I set up in the ps5 system menu --> resolution automatic but, for example, I'm playing Avatar on ps5 in performance mode and it looks bad 4 me. It changes somethings in terms of visual quality if I change resolution in 4k in this case? The resolution grows up or it doesn't change at all? Thank you man, y'r the best
I have a LG C1, and only use ps5 for gaming. No movies. You still would set RGB range to automatic, not full? Lg c1 can match ps5 in full or limited. Thanks!
Hi, thanks for your videos and help, i have an issue, mi tv is an lg nanocell with a 2.0 hdmi, and some times the screen turns off for a second while playing a ps5 game, it happens once a month, i changed the speed of transfer of the hdmi in the ps5 to -2 and nowadays i have not problmes, but if it happens again, what could i do?
Tried using HDR on ghost recon breakpoint. Using a ps5 with the LG C3 tv 43 inch. For some reason it creates much more film grain and dims the screen. Also i disable allm for gaming because it gives film grain as well. Makes the sky look like its made out of sand
Hi, This is very important to note most current games have a bad/broken/uncalibrated HDR presentation and before using it, it's better to check videos about them from people who made tests, for example, I can tell you that Deadspace Remake or GOW Ragnarok has a great HDR quality with no issues, but FF16 is not good. you can also check this playlist if you're interested in HDR Analysis: ruclips.net/p/PLfzrQ3H5ECSZYy3dFysAvz8Tq1jIer-_m&si=EDYxEbxKEgdlT3NK
Hi, Default and change it from the games, some games can't change quality modes if it's not set to default on the console like Hogwarts legacy RT Mode, so it's best to leave the console on default and change from the game settings.
Great video and excellent explanations. Why would there be a different hdr black level setting setting for Hogwarts and Jedi Survivor? Can you provide a bit more explanation? Edit: never mind, I see you explained it in another video!
Hi, thanks, yes it's like Hogwarts uses that as the Black point (level 0) that can cause a greyish look and Jedi uses that as a shadow detail level with exposure.
Excellent video. I have a question : if we use dynamic tone mapping on LG OLED, because it's sometimes better than HGIG (like FF16), should we let the PS5's HDR settings from HGIG or make a new one with DTM ?
Hi Thanks, I perfer Leaving the PS5 settings on HGIG, the Point of DTM is to overbrighten the picture so if you set it with that you may get worse results compared to HGIG calibration.
Hi Danial, two months ago I changed monitors and went from a full hd 60hz to an Lg Ultragera 27GR75Q (1440p at 120hz); on Warzone I immediately noticed some artefacts on the surfaces (buildings, windows, electrical wires etc), especially from afar, but up close they can be seen very well. When the walls of buildings are in flight, they create plays of light and shadow, changing saturation based on distance. The edges of the windows are as if they were frying, I don't know how to explain it. I've tried everything from monitor settings with freesync and response time but nothing, I tried removing the 120hz and it works a little less but I bought it specifically to play at 120hz. On fc24 which runs at 60hz no problems. My question is, having tried every setting on the PS5 too, could it be because the monitor has an HDMI 2.0 port? I also tried with other cables, no luck. In any case I read that 120hz can also be achieved with HDMI 2.0. I am desperate
Hi, these artefacts and most other graphical downgrades comes to PS5 power, on 120Hz mode games have lower graphics and visuals get affected a lot, especially in warzone as that requires a lot power, the only thing you can do is probably using on demand texture streaming, but that wouldn’t help much in this case, 60Hz mode looks better due to less power being needed and higher native resolution + graphics, hopefully PS5 Pro with better GPU provides better graphics in 120FPS
@@DanielZH at 60hz it doesn't cause any problems, you can see much better but now that I'm used to the speed of 120hz it's really difficult to go back to 60. In this case, do you think it's better to keep texture streaming active or fidielityx cas? I'm afraid that keeping them both active will cause you too much fatigue and will have the opposite effect with an impact on the fps too. another thing, is it really important to activate performance mode on the ps5? I also read that the PS5 is incompatible with monitor freesync (which unfortunately VRR doesn't support me)
Hi, RGB is a color format used to make color by combining Red, Green, and Blue, typically most screens support RGB unless the input can't support it, PS5 can output RGB at 4K 120Hz. Still, when it comes to HDR it goes to 4:2:2 (8bit), which isn't noticeable to many, I recommend checking RGB Vs. vs YCbCr to understand the sampling as I'm not great at explaining that. but yes TVs support RGB color format.
I think we should trust the Sony instructions for the adjust HDR settings. I know there has been much differing discussion online about whether it's right to go until the sun is visible or clip it. People have also argued that Sony is not following the HGIG standards, b/c the actual standard say it that these screens should be completely white, and the xbox HDR calibration says to go to all white. BUT all that being said, Sony seems to really fuss over the small details, for example there was no VRR, or external storage at launch, they wanted to get it right first. Sony has come back to add in support for Atmos, they've done a lot of firmware updates, added features like 1440p, as well as even add the option for HDR to be "on when supported". I think that all points to the fact they look at and pay attention to these things. IF there was an issue with the HDR calibration instructions you have to think they'd have fixed it. They clearly say go to you still see the sun, how do you know they are not doing something different internally on the back end so that those instructions are best? same thing with the black level one. everyone says leave it on the lowest, especially for oled because you want "true black". But many oleds tend to crush blacks, why not raise it and see the shadow detail'?
Hi, having it on default calibration settings is fine for some games, It's not Sony's fault actually, some games don't use it the way intended like Hogwarts legacy which will add a hazy look if you increase the third level, so it changes based on the game unfortunately.
Hi, I use color calibration settings from Rtings. com and they give you great settings to get the best accurate color (as LG isn't good with out-of-the-box color accuracy)
Hi there, dolby atmos is coming, for years we used to set on PCM for the best result but now will it be better to use Dolby Atmos ? I have a sound setup 3.1 with a Denon AVC-X4700.
Hi. I got my Samsung Oddsey G7 28 monitor. Please tell me how i adjust HDR settings on PS 5 how many click fir step 1,2 and 3 for all games? Please help 🙏
Hi, probably 11 clicks in steps 1-2 and step 3 of 3 probably 0 clicks, I just published a new video about HDR here: ruclips.net/video/icBddqOY0oY/видео.html
@@DanielZHfor step 1 and 2 when i click 3x button is barely visable then i click 1x button and disapper. After this i click 7x more click button. Is this good or is too bright or sometning doing wrong? My monitor model is Samsung Oddsey G7 28 inch. Thank you for help! 🙏
Sir Danial, I got a 1080p monitor that accepts 4k signals, should i put the resolution into automatic or should i leave it at 1080p native resolution for less input delay? Or is it just the same throughout all resolution?
I would suggest checking input delay on Rtings. com and see what are the values in each resolution, sometimes they have less input delay when downscaling and some models are better to be used with native resulotion.
Hi, I have the Sony A95K QD-OLED(2022). I turned off HDR tone mapping (gradation preferred) and then clicked on steps 1 and 2 until the sun is no longer visible. In step 3 I set it as dark as possible. Then I set the HDR tone mapping back on. Is it correct that way?
Hi, it's a hard question as I haven't calibrated a Sony TV like that, once I was testing a Sony TV we calibrated with Gradation Preferred enabled, you can try that and see how the picture looks, usually gradation preferred looks the best on 3 Sony TV's I've seen, you can also check HDTVTEST channel as he covers a lot of Sony TV Settings and might be a good idea to calibrate the way he shows.
So Daniel, for a Sony Oled TV (A80J) when we calibrate HDR we have to do it with dinamic tone maping off, and then turn it on gradation prefered. On Sony’s there is no HGIG thats why I ask. Thanks
Hey, great video! I have a Samsung G70A Odyssey Monitor. It is a 4k 144hz Monitor with 2.1 hdmi. I thought I should be able to use everything that the ps5 offers but I can’t turn on VRR and ALLM. It says that my screen is not supported for those modes. I also use the 2.1 hdmi cable that was in the ps5. Do u have any solution? Thank you very much :)
some monitors have HDR and cant do VRR and ALLM at the same time maybe check if you turn off HDR on the ps5 if you can get the ALLM or VRR with the ps5 monitors have a trend that they dont always work how they do on the pc
Hi, based on Rtings, Odyssey G7 is not compatible with PS5's VRR, nor 4K 120Hz mode (1440p 120Hz mode is also fine, there's not an AAA native 4K 120Hz game on PS5 yet) Monitors already have ALLM enabled, and there's no further processing that's why there's no game mode typically, as they have a fast response on most modes, you may have Overdrive Setting that I would recommend testing Adaptive Sync or faster and see how it looks.
Hello there, I am in the process of buying a gaming monitor and have a question you. The monitor I have my eye on is a QHD (2560p x 1440p) monitor that has a refresh rate of 170hz. However, it does not have a hdmi 2.1 port and only 2.0 so it does not enable VRR. So is the 170hz of the monitor too high and will cause screen tearing or does the ps5 adjust the gameplay to 120hz automatically to avoid it as I know that is where the cap is. Thank You for your time.
Hi, it will output what PS5 request, if the monitor can accept 120Hz (most of them do) so it'll do it, however, the games that have VRR and are above 48-120FPS, may get screen tearing as the FPS is not stable on PS5, to fix that, you either need a new monitor or some sort of device that can fix it, for exmaple Elgato caputre card can enable VRR in non supported montitors for PS5 but it doesn't worth it for your case. most of the good games, have a stable FPS, so you won't notice tearing.
Excuse me, one more thing when playing warzone, do you recommend hdr off or on? you are the best of the best thank you so much😅 I follow you from Italy
Hi, your monitor supports 2560x1440, so the best is 1440p as the native resolution, it also supports up to 120Hz. if you do 4K 60Hz it'll also downscale and you may get a higher quality, but in HDR, the RGB range will change to limited and ruin the picture, so 1440p is my recommended setting.
Thanks, HDR on when using 1440p 120Hz output again limits RGB range in HDMI 2.0 monitors, I recommend SDR to get correct gamma. if you play on 60Hz, then HDR is fine.
When gaming bud war zone for example Home Screen is perfect loading screens fine soon as load in to the actual game play everything is grainy black freckles and colour is dreadful
@@stuartdunsmure4990MW3 and Warzone doesn't look that good on PS5, try making in game Film grain 0, and that's all that could be done, it's not a monitor issue though, you can also turn off Fidelity CAS but that causes a blurry picture.
Hi Danial, I've two questions First, I've a Samsung 4K TV, but the 1440p isn't supported if the HDR is on, so is there a way to use 1440p with HDR enabled? because when using 2160p the color format is set to YUV422 instead of RGB Second, My current settings are: the resolution is set to 2160p, HDR is on, and the color format is YUV422, is this better or this settings: 1440p, HDR is off, and color format is RGB or 1080p, HDR is on, and color format is RGB?
Hi, don't worry, 4:2:2 is more than enough, and you're very less likely to feel the difference between RGB and 4:2:2, I'd recommend keeping it on the highest quality; that case was only if you can get 1440p and the game is also 1440p.
I have a sony bravia xr oled and I have the problem of the yuv422 range that generates very faded colors. the tv is 4k and does not support 1440p, the only way I have to have an rgb range is to set the ps5 to 1080p. the colors improve better but do you know if the image quality loses? I can't figure it out
Dtm tries to maximise brightness and make things look brighter overall, HGIG shows what exactly developer wanted you to see, but as some TVs aren’t bright enough or some games don’t look good enough that way, DTM might be a better choice for some games
Hi daniel, i am having issues in warzone, i find certain spots inside the building too dark, ive tried changing my monitor setting and have had no luck. Can you advised what i can change hear to brighten it up, as i cannot adjust the gamr brighten with hdr locking the settings
I have a 65 inch tv tcl Roku man I stay getting high latency I paid for extra internet idk wat to do to fix it or to get less latency wat hdmi or wat are the proper settings for me starting with the PlayStation to the tv
Also the best resolution is the highest that your tv supports see here's the thing if I set my ps5 res to 4k the ps5 will upscale the game if it's 1440p to 4k however if you chose 1440p on a tv that is 4k the tv does the upscaling the thing is tho is the ps5 has a way better upscaler then your tv or monitor any day of the week lol but yeah
@@DanielZH yeah I saw, you say that 1440p is best, but the guys comment above says automatic is better? And you agreed with him. So I’m confused what’s best to use
The Samsung Q80T is a very problematic TV to set HDR properly, because it's agressive tone mapping that can't be turned off, i use 15 clicks from zero on the first and second sun, the third is all the way down, it's correct, isn't?
As I checked in Rtings, full screen (Step 1) is around 392 cd/m², and step 2 (10% window) is 616 cd/m². normally if you follow the way shown in the video you would get correct results, step 3 on 0 is usually fine. ensure to not use Contrast Enhancer, neither any other image processing that affects brightness while calibrating.
@@DanielZH following the steps i end up with around 2 or 3 clicks bellow the max, which is too much, idk if you are aware of the Q80T calibration, if not I can assure you that it is a total pain... The local dimming make the sun appear even near the max bright of the calibration, everything else is correct in my TV, i don't use the contrast enhanced yes, it clearly destroys the image, it's really bad.
@@RamonAlek Oh I see, yeah Samsung tone mapping is really bad but sometimes really annoying, not sure if this method I showed works fine but on their newer TV's you can use tone mapping static for better results
@@DanielZH on the Q80T sadly you can't, the best config for the calibration on PS5, was 15 clicks on first and second sun, and zero on 3rd one of course, this to match the maximum peak brightness of Q80T, but thank you anyways for your responses👍
Hi, automatic will choose 4K when the output refresh rate is capable of 4K, the same with 2160p, in either way, you should see 2160p in output information, if a game is 120FPS for example and your TV is incapable of 120Hz in 4K then it'll switch to 1440p or 1080p (if your screen is capable of 120Hz in lower res) otherwise it'll stay on 4K.
hi Danial, I have a monitor with native resolution 1440p, if I set it to automatic and play fc24 it sets me to 2160p (I can see it from the monitor info and also from play), on warzone it remains 1440p. in this case do you think anything changes about fc24? It seems the same to me, should I upscale or should I set the PS5 to 1440p and stop?
Hi, warzone uses 1440p because probably your monitor supports 120Hz in 1440p but max 60Hz on 2160p and FC24 is 60FPS, typically if you pay close attention 2160p should look a bit sharper in FC24 due to downscale, but in case of FC24 if you don't feel much of a difference, then use 1440p for a faster response time.
My TV is a TCL C755 and I am playing FIFA 24 or FC 24. I notice that there is a flickering that bothers me and I do not know how to adjust the HDR PS5. Please write them to me in a comment or give me the solution, please. I need your help.
I've had this problem for over a year. I have a QLED HDMI 2.1 capable TV and I'm using the standard PS5 HDMI cord but have also tried an 8K cord and that didn't work but my issue is I cannot seem to achieve 4K HDR RGB I always am stuck with YUV422 even though everything seems to be 2.1 compatible. Any suggestions? Please help with this it makes gaming not fun lately.
@DanielZH Okay, but my TV doesn't have 120 HZ mode it only goes to 60 HZ and I have 120 HZ mode off as well so does that not make a difference? Is the PS5 capable of 4K HDR in RGB at 60HZ? That's my ultimate question. I bought this TV just to get away from YUV422 but can't seem to achieve 4K HDR 60 HZ in RGB! Is it possible to be in 4K and in HDR and in 60 HZ and in RGB?
Maybe an old vid but when I put my ps5 into 1440p it goes to 1.4 hdcp even tho I’ve got a g7 2.1 screen ? And know it can handle hdcp 2.3 only in 1440 it goes to 1.4 ?

Hi Daniel, you’ve covered the HDR setting for Samsung and LG tv but not sony. Can you advise for sony’s should I configured the hdr until the sun is not visible or only barely visible as I dont think my current TV (sony x90k) support HGiG
Hi, HDR settings in most games aren't used the way they should, that's why I usually make HDR settings for each new game, but in a normal situation, making it invisible is the correct one for first-party games like Uncharted and God of War, and games that have great HDR, it's ok if the TV doesn't have HGIG, the same calibration is still valid, yet if you're looking for a specific game, here's a playlist of HDR for games: ruclips.net/p/PLfzrQ3H5ECSZYy3dFysAvz8Tq1jIer-_m
Because I’m going through a couple monitors right now testing them out trying to get the most optimized hertz right now. My LG is pushing at 60 Hz and I’m trying to get it higher but I didn’t know I did it on different games.
Hi, based on the Native Contrast 807 : 1 (Rtings) and HDR brightness and color gamut, It's better to use SDR on this monitor. yet if it looks better with HDR on some games like GOW or spider-man, feel free to use HDR.

I don't know how to remove that annoying effect. ok i admit i have a tcl c735, not a super oled though it has all the features for gaming, vrr 120hz allm, game mode. I bought it on purpose. I want to understand if I can change some setting of the TV or I just have to accept that you can not change what happens. please can you help me???😢😢😢
Hi, I think you're talking about near black level issues in slow scenes which most OLEDs have this issue, if not, do you have game mode enabled? have you tried with off and see how that effects, as there's not much info about this TV on Rtings I can't say what the problem is exactly, but try Game mode off once, and also turn motion blur off in those games, and see how it goes.
I'll try disabling the game mode. I'll try to explain myself better, maybe I explained myself badly and you don't understand what I mean, my English isn't perfect. When I play and rotate the camera, small trails form around the textures, which sometimes slightly alter the colors and are quite annoying. When the view is still nothing happens, while the faster I turn the view, the thicker these trails become. thanks for the help, I would like to understand if the TV is defective, because before buying it, I made sure by looking at other reviews that in any case for the price range at which it was taken it was not bad for playing or I have to accept the compromise of having spent little money.
Im using Acer Nitro QG1 1080p Monitor (HDMI2.0) , it has HDR but the color is abit washed out .. I prefer SDR but there's a huge problem .. when I use SDR.. everytime I move there is a disturbing black ghosting outline
Hi, have you tried changing response settings? there must be a settings for that and if you lower it to standard, or quality mode, those lines will go away, as higher you set that, the faster pixel refresh but that causes those lines.
I still didn't understand my Samsung au9010 how many clicks should I make on ps5 on the first and second sun is barely visible and for another click I understood correctly?
Hi, it only affects color accuracy (and less likely to been seen on typical games or content) The fix is either lower resolution (not recommended) or upgrading to an HDMI 2.1 TV for full color in 4K 60 HDR. 120Hz will still probably be 422 (again you won't feel it typically)
Bro my moniter support 2k when i put automatic resolution in ps5 and make video output information show me the resolution is 4k , so you advice me put the settings in automatic or put in 1440
@@ahmedqusay4380 You're welcome, if the game is only 60FPS or 30FPS you can use 2160p to get higher resolution that looks sharper, otherwise 1440p for 120Hz mode.
Hi, yes there are a lot of 4K 120Hz monitors with HDMI 2.1 VRR support for PS5 but IPS models don't have good contrast, VA or OLED models are recommended.
Hi, HDR is not great in all games, and many games look good with SDR too, depending on the game, HDR might look better, if the TV doesn't support 4K HDR, and you have to choose between 1080p HDR and 4K SDR, I would go with 4K SDR in most cases, unless the game looks bad on SDR.
Hi, considering most games I've tested so far, 0 is ok for 99% of them regardless of being VA, but if you played a game that is crushing dark details, then make it barely visible (like jedi survivor.)
Can't be sure what causes dimming as I need to see this in person, but I assume if you look at Rtings information you may end up finding the reason maybe some hidden settings due to ABL on the TV and more

Glad you like them!
This is the best and most comprehensive video on RUclips breaking down the graphics settings for ps5, very helpful.
Wow, thanks!
thanks bro, you made it sound so simple. Had a hard time about RGB full or limited.

GREAT VIDEO !!!
Thanks!! 😄

Freesync Premium on or off? Even though it doesn't affect video info on the PS5?
Hi, as it doesn't affect and won't work with PS5 VRR, there's no improvement, you can keep it on either, as far as I checked it won't affect input lag either on a G27Q.
My TV is 4k... when I leave the PS5 at 2160p it is much clearer than when I set it to automatic... Why does this happen? It's not just in games, it's even notable in the console menu. In both options, the console reports that it is 4k.
How important is VRR for playing cod? Love your videos btw
VRR prevents tearing, in COD the FPS is pretty stable when not fighting, and small drops occasionally, you can expect a few frame tearing when engaging in a fight with +3 people and higher FOVs.
Love your vid bro ❤❤ keep it up
Thanks so much! will do 💙
So, a little question..
Thanks!
Hi, your TV can match PS5 as long as it's on auto; no need to adjust anything. unless you have issues.
Yup Ghost recon has bad hdr. You’re going to have to turn it off. There’s no fixing it because hdr is broken for that game
Any advice on Performance mode vs Resolution mode in the Game Presets settings on the PS5 ?
Hi, Default and change it from the games, some games can't change quality modes if it's not set to default on the console like Hogwarts legacy RT Mode, so it's best to leave the console on default and change from the game settings.

Hey Danial will you do a video for jedi survivor patch 6 to test the performances on Ps5?
Already working on it!
I also read that the PS5 is incompatible with monitor freesync (which unfortunately VRR doesn't support me)
Hiya Daniel. Can RGB be used on 4k UHD tvs? I always thought RGB was for people who game on monitors
@@DanielZH thank you for your reply

So Daniel, for a Sony Oled TV (A80J) when we calibrate HDR we have to do it with dinamic tone maping off, and then turn it on gradation prefered. On Sony’s there is no HGIG thats why I ask. Thanks

some monitors have HDR and cant do VRR and ALLM at the same time maybe check if you turn off HDR on the ps5 if you can get the ALLM or VRR with the ps5 monitors have a trend that they dont always work how they do on the pc
Hi, based on Rtings, Odyssey G7 is not compatible with PS5's VRR, nor 4K 120Hz mode (1440p 120Hz mode is also fine, there's not an AAA native 4K 120Hz game on PS5 yet)
Monitors already have ALLM enabled, and there's no further processing that's why there's no game mode typically, as they have a fast response on most modes, you may have Overdrive Setting that I would recommend testing Adaptive Sync or faster and see how it looks.

Hi what about for sport games like fc25
Hi I have a Samsung Odyssey G5 2K monitor
the best resolution to set in this case is 1080p right?
Hi Danial, may I know if my tv does not have 1440p, should i change the resolution to 1080p for full RGB? or just remain with 2160p YUV420?

@@stuartdunsmure4990MW3 and Warzone doesn't look that good on PS5, try making in game Film grain 0, and that's all that could be done, it's not a monitor issue though, you can also turn off Fidelity CAS but that causes a blurry picture.
Hi Danial, I've two questions
First, I've a Samsung 4K TV, but the 1440p isn't supported if the HDR is on, so is there a way to use 1440p with HDR enabled? because when using 2160p the color format is set to YUV422 instead of RGB
Second, My current settings are: the resolution is set to 2160p, HDR is on, and the color format is YUV422, is this better or this settings: 1440p, HDR is off, and color format is RGB
or 1080p, HDR is on, and color format is RGB?
Hi, don't worry, 4:2:2 is more than enough, and you're very less likely to feel the difference between RGB and 4:2:2, I'd recommend keeping it on the highest quality; that case was only if you can get 1440p and the game is also 1440p.
I have a sony bravia xr oled and I have the problem of the yuv422 range that generates very faded colors. the tv is 4k and does not support 1440p, the only way I have to have an rgb range is to set the ps5 to 1080p. the colors improve better but do you know if the image quality loses? I can't figure it out

Hi, PS5 HDMI bandwidth is limited that's why it can't output RGB in HDR 4K 120
Hi, the HDCP version is different based on resolutions you choose for PS5 depending on the monitor support.
Dynamic tone mapping on or off? As my tv doesn't have hgig.
Hi, what is your TV model exactly?
@@DanielZH Hello, Thanks for the reply, It's lg43um7780pta, Hdr doesn't look washed out to me, it looks proper but when I turn off dynamic tone mapping it looks dim but somehow looks realistic. And when I turn on Dynamic tone mapping, it looks bright and vibrant but over bright sometimes.
@@omk190I see, if you turn it off, it acts similar to HGIG but it might be too dim on this TV as you mentioned, so using DTM would be better in your case if you're not in a dark room
@@DanielZH Thank you so much, Just a question, do i need to calibrate ps5 hdr again by turning dynamic tone mapping on? As i heard it's not right to do calibration by turning dynamic tone mapping on as it outputs different brightness for those 3 calibration screens, is it right?
@@omk190 Hi again, it's recommended to calibrate on the mode you play, so it won't overbrighten the peak brightness. usually, there's a little difference between them as they brighten the average brightness and not the peak, min.
@@DanielZH nice thanks for replying! Will check other videos as well!
Ive been on forums where a guy that work with vincent say that it should be before it clips now when it clips
Each game uses that differently, recently, I found not clipping the best in newer games, for some older games, clipping would be good.

Does a PlayStation only go up to 60 Hz because I’m trying to boost it up to 120 or higher and I feel like it’s not compatible
it depends on the game if they support it, the menus are at 60Hz unless a 120Hz game is opened.
Because I’m going through a couple monitors right now testing them out trying to get the most optimized hertz right now. My LG is pushing at 60 Hz and I’m trying to get it higher but I didn’t know I did it on different games.
I’m really debating if I should have a monitor that features all the PS five settings the VRR and the ALLM
Bro my moniter lg gb850 nano ips should iturn on hdr , is big diferent ?
Hi, based on the Native Contrast 807 : 1 (Rtings) and HDR brightness and color gamut, It's better to use SDR on this monitor. yet if it looks better with HDR on some games like GOW or spider-man, feel free to use HDR.
2 Questions i have the Samsung odeysey 4k G7 flat monitor i have the ps5 settings on 1440p for 120hz frames now my question is when playing Cod should i Enable Hdr or not for input Lag and Also should i Enable Adaptive Sync on my Monitor or turn it off for better Performance and input Lag Many thanks

hello can you help me? I have a little problem, practically when I play with some titles like tlou, cod, spiderman and others, especially when I'm playing in dark areas and I move the view, I see a trail on the edges of the objects.
@@antoniopezzano7808 If you can send a video of that issue to discord would be great, link in pinned comment.
@@DanielZH apparently I couldn't find response rate.. this is a very weird monitor, settings is very limited
I still didn't understand my Samsung au9010 how many clicks should I make on ps5 on the first and second sun is barely visible and for another click I understood correctly?
Yes make both barely visible then 1 more.
"YUV422 or YUV420 instead of RGB due to HDMI 2.0 transfer speed limitations." how to fix this bro im using samsung tv model ua70
Hi, it only affects color accuracy (and less likely to been seen on typical games or content)
The fix is either lower resolution (not recommended) or upgrading to an HDMI 2.1 TV for full color in 4K 60 HDR. 120Hz will still probably be 422 (again you won't feel it typically)
@@DanielZH so even im having this YUV422 (HDR) STATUS im still getting 4k hdr reso?
@@siopaofamily2026 Yes, the colors may appear slightly different (hard to tell for a normal person)
@@DanielZH ok thanks bro i learned something new 😁😁
Bro my moniter support 2k when i put automatic resolution in ps5 and make video output information show me the resolution is 4k , so you advice me put the settings in automatic or put in 1440
Hi, it probably downscale 4K to 1440p, but in that case, it'll be limited to 60FPS, I suggest 1440p so you can get 120Hz in supported games.
@@DanielZH so you suggest to change my resolution to 1440p not automatic thats better . Thx bro
@@ahmedqusay4380 You're welcome, if the game is only 60FPS or 30FPS you can use 2160p to get higher resolution that looks sharper, otherwise 1440p for 120Hz mode.
So if i have a lg C2 should i leave resolution at Automatic?
Hi, yes for C2 Automatic would do the job.
which setting for non 4k tv
i just got ps5 but i have only 1080p tv
Hi, if it's 1080p TV then use 1080p with all other options on automatic for the best results.

Is there a monitor that can turn every setting from tje Video Output ?
Hi, yes there are a lot of 4K 120Hz monitors with HDMI 2.1 VRR support for PS5 but IPS models don't have good contrast, VA or OLED models are recommended.
@@DanielZH can you name a few cheap curved ones ?
Is 1080p with HDR better than 2160p without HDR? It says the device my HDMI cable is plugged into doesn’t support it and my TV supports 4k UHD
Gameon 4k 144hz But it does not support 1440 120Hz why ?

Hi Daniel! For samsung VA panels what is the optimal value to insert in the third part of the hdr setting? Thank you
Hi, considering most games I've tested so far, 0 is ok for 99% of them regardless of being VA, but if you played a game that is crushing dark details, then make it barely visible (like jedi survivor.)
And I put the level of a black car on this Samsung and on the car console and the picture is dim, I don't know what to do, please tell me
Do you have all motion lighting power saving off in the TV settings?
I have everything turned off
Can't be sure what causes dimming as I need to see this in person, but I assume if you look at Rtings information you may end up finding the reason maybe some hidden settings due to ABL on the TV and more

When i play re 4 remake on the ps5, looks way better with the console hdr on but with the hdr off in the game settings, i dont know why jaj
