That is straight - if it’s a bug I’m sure will issue a firmware update. Perhaps quick thanks to your video. Hey is the input lag as low as advertised in your opinion bud ?
It’s not a defect or a bug it’s probably his settings are wrong he needs to try putting the expert one to warm there are three options there expert one expert two and warm
Have you resolved the blue/cool look in game mode? I saw you hover over exp1 and exp2. If you continue to tab left it should show “warm”, neutral etc. Hopefully not a bug that will require a firmware update.
Love to see the advancement in OLED. I am locked in on my CX now for a few years but excited to see what will be available when I am in the market for new tv.
This TV has perfect color accuracy and comes calibrated, it can be set without that blue tint, till I have mine I won't be able to tinker to tell you, it couldn't hurt to ask FOMO here on youtube, he's in contact with a color calibration specialist named Robert that's diving into this very TV right now, just hit up any recent video for FOMO and comment your question on how to remove the blue tint for the A90J during gaming and he'll likely get back to you within the day with what he can on it 😁
Don‘t worry about vivid mode. That just blows out the highlights and adds too much contrast. The additional brightness is not at all worth if if you loose all the detail
if you select the Enchanced format dolby vision, do you still get 4k 120hz? I'm not sure you do which would mean that this tv is not good for series X?
No with the current SoC incorporated in the 2021 line up you still have to choose Dolby Vision and 4K 120. In the external input menu you have to chose between « Enhanced format » (4K 120) and « Dolby Vision »
You need a Gaming Channel. A PS5 and a Sony A90J. Would get a lot of traffic. Now, The A90J really needs a Gaming. Information bar like Samsung. And the PS5 is not ready for VRR yet. And my PC can Play COD Cold War with Ray Tracing and 1440p 144Hz GSYC to my LG C9 Looks amazing Havinv Ray Tracing and GSYNC. Sony is very behind.
@@VegitoBlackityBlack I've tried a bunch of settings. Seems the flickering isnt as bad at 100hz as it is 120hz. Some games even at 120hz it doesn't do it. Shadow of the tomb raider seems to be a good one to test with, right from the start of the game.
I noticed when you were in the video output information screen, that it never changed from 2160-60Hz even after all the calibration. Is that right it did i miss something? I thought you were changing so it’d go up to 120Hz
That's because we were not in the game. That shows current refresh rate which is 60hz for the PS5 menu and home screen. It switches to 120hz automatically when a game with 120hz support is launched. Hope it helps.

You set HDR incorrectly on the PS5. When you get to the point where you can barely see the image and clip it, you need to clip it. You do this on the 1st and 2nd pattern, then on the last 3rd pattern you set it to the darkest setting. This is because it’s an OLED. This setting works differently on an LCD panel. Those instructions need to be changed because they don’t apply to OLED. HDTVtest RUclips channel has confirmed this. Also auto white balance is probably contributing to the blue light being locked turn it off, then go to color temperature.

Have you tried 4k 120HZ HDR like on cod Cold War apparently there is loads of gradient and colour banding issues
Can you please test LG 55sm9000 HDMI 2.1 for gaming because this is only hdmi 2.1 tv i can afford
Stunning display. And that motion is awesome. However watching this on a calibrated to reference display your colour tempature is too blue as you said. That is straight - if it’s a bug I’m sure will issue a firmware update. Perhaps quick thanks to your video. Hey is the input lag as low as advertised in your opinion bud ?
I will have to calculate the input lag but tester will just calculate for 1080p
It’s not a defect or a bug it’s probably his settings are wrong he needs to try putting the expert one to warm there are three options there expert one expert two and warm
New sub here! Appreciating your effort on getting us info and visual for this set.
Thank you Robb.
Hi, do you have any info on the 83 inch model? when are they coming?
Not sure yet. Only 55 is available for sale.
Have you resolved the blue/cool look in game mode? I saw you hover over exp1 and exp2. If you continue to tab left it should show “warm”, neutral etc. Hopefully not a bug that will require a firmware update.
I agree there is a warm option as well that he missed
Love to see the advancement in OLED. I am locked in on my CX now for a few years but excited to see what will be available when I am in the market for new tv.
So is there VRR already enabled? Or are We going to wait a year for it.
This TV has perfect color accuracy and comes calibrated, it can be set without that blue tint, till I have mine I won't be able to tinker to tell you, it couldn't hurt to ask FOMO here on youtube, he's in contact with a color calibration specialist named Robert that's diving into this very TV right now, just hit up any recent video for FOMO and comment your question on how to remove the blue tint for the A90J during gaming and he'll likely get back to you within the day with what he can on it 😁
Hi mate, is there any panel tinting? Pink, blue, yellow...?
No. It is like a black mirror.
@@MyGadgetsWorld how about white 😁. Is it pure or there is some pinkish areas. I returned 2 LG CX last year because of it.
@@thomasmorel1447 well thats a bad thing in my book or maybe I don't understand your reply.
Yes. But that's not gonna work with PS5.
For Xbox Series X it is gonna work.
Thank you. Yes Samsung game bar is amazing, LG is also introducing same in C1 and G1.
I play my LG CX in a dark room so I'm waiting until Micro LED is refined before upgrading.
How is the 4k@120hz. I noticed it flickers. Have to turn it down to 60hz.
@@Optionvideo209 I never seen flickering after the most recent update. I play Gears 5 at 120fps every day. 0 flickering.
@@VegitoBlackityBlack interesting. Maybe I'll return this and try one more panel before giving up
@@Optionvideo209 0.5% of customers get a bad panel. That's 1 in 200. I got a really good one. Hopefully u will, too.
Hope it helps.
hi, I wanted to ask did you notice on the Sony a90j there is the gaming setting on the HDR of the HGiG?
This TV doesn't support HGiG, I think
You didn't do Performance RT mode. :D take your time and see if the video out put is the same or stuck in 1080p and the blue tint is there. Also thank you so much for putting out these videos so fast, I need to start saving some money for this bad boy haha.
Thanks you so much.
Should I use e-arc port or hdmi 4.0?
Is there a grid pattern on whites or bright colours? Like on last year lg and sony models
I will run few test patterns soon. I did gray Uniformity on my channel.
Have it professionally calibrated because it does have a blue push
I hope they allow to change color temp and it will be easy.
Hello i'm french ans my english not verry good (Sorry) but i read on some forums Sony A90J have Color banding when you play in 120hz do you constat this !!! Thanks
Saving up for that 83". Might take awhile sigh
High five!
Damn.. So how bright is this oled in comparison to last year's oled?
nice content man, ssee the comparation againts the samsung will be interesting
working on a side by side comparison.
@@MyGadgetsWorld thank you you are very kind
I haven't upgraded my TV in 7 years or so. I have to admit The A90J is looking more and more tempting. I only hear good things about it, and about OLED in general.
What you are hearing about the Sony is correct it is amazing I have the 83 inch in the living room and I have the 55 inch in the game room and it is just stunning it is worth the price specially the dark scenes in the night scenes you can see what’s going on versus the LG you can’t see in the dark scenes and night scenes
Listen I need your help with something I have the same exact television that you have and I did everything you say but I'm still having a slight double vision when I move the character in my game for example Elden ring when I'm standing still everything is okay when I start moving and turning around I see Jitter around the character like a double vision how do I stop that do I need another PlayStation 5
Yes I played my PS5 on the Sony a 90j I didn’t get the blue tent that you’re experiencing but I did get my TV calibrated for HDR gaming . that made a night and day difference also before calibration I didn’t notice bluish tint and my gang on my Sony TV and I was using expired one
This or the LG CX OLED ?
Depends what do you want it for.
This...the CX suffers from a "grid" dirty screen effect in bright whites, Ive already been through a few of them and they all had it
@Ikari Warrior
Really? I haven't noticed that on my CX and I'm usually very perceptive and picky. I'm not saying you're wrong, but I'm surprised I haven't noticed it.
@@IkariWarrior1701 every panel is different, it is always panel lottery. :)
@@MyGadgetsWorld usually, but I've seen over 20 CX or GX models on display across New England and they have all had them, and people all over AVS Forum and Reddit have the same issue...this is something new, maybe due to changes in manufacturing....this Sony looks awesome though, good luck with it!
After the initial set up in Sony A90J why is Netflix crashing after a while( 8 / 10 minutes) . How can it be fixed?? Plse help
I thought on Sony TVs if you selected the Dolby vision version of hdmi input instead of the enhanced version than you lose the 4K 12pfps. I’m pretty sure that how past years models were anyway, could you confirm this please??
Sure. I will see if I can grab xbox series x to test that.
This tv display any other color than blue?!
Oleds have always looked blue on camera lol
How is the input lag is it as low as LG Oleds?
Will have to test that.
Yeah! I want to know as well. It says 8,5 ms on their website. Maybe that's only 4k 120 and if you take another setting with 60/30 and raytracing it could get lower
@@Toschh I saw on fomo with the guy from value electronics said 16ms..
@@franksam8610 thanks mate. I've heard the same thing if you look at ratings. The input lag differs when it's 60fps or 120fps.
It's amazing that when you buy a TV that's positioned as "perfect for PS5" from the same manufacturer, you still have to mess around with the settings and explain to the TV something about the console… )
Good video!. Related with the banding that your subscriber mentioned, I read in reviews that when you combine HDR+4K+120hz you suffer it with certain games. And the output through the eARC port doesn't support DTS. Don't know if you could confirm that :)
It actually does support DTS via eARC and I made a video about it, check Sony Bravia Core Test with my receiver and I was able to get DTS
@@MyGadgetsWorld oh, didn't know. Cool, I'll check it!. Nice to read it. And about that combination? I'm eager so that you destroy that comment as well 😆. Thank you very much for your reply!
@@miguelmartin7179 yes, but honestly banding it not as noticeable from a regular viewing distance, you will barely see it when there is solid color display like skys or desert, but you can't tell unless you are 1 or 2 ft away from TV. 4K 120hz HDR on Console is inferior and that's why you will notice it slightly as compared to 60hz 4K HDR.
@@MyGadgetsWorld understood. So, time to save money for this monster!. Thank you very much for your clarification and for your accurate answer, dude. Best regards!
@@miguelmartin7179 anytime man. Let me know if need any more info. Have a great weekend
Any review soon ?
Did you try a factory reset? Back in the days with my Sony LED TVs it often helped fixing strange bugs.
Sony a90j 65 vs 77 ag9 what you think is better ?
A90J is A9G plus more brightness and hdmi 2.1 stuff.
Is worth the extra money ?
The 65 90j is 800 more expensive like a9g 77 inch ..
Do you find it annoying that you have so much reflection in the screen?
Thank you for the awesome video, is it true ? it supports VRR & ALLM!
no. PS5 doesn't have VRR, but ALLM works.
@@MyGadgetsWorld I meant the TV! does it support both VRR for the Xbox Series X?
@@mr.remeithi6841 not today. There is a firmware update scheduled for this winter for supporting VRR.
@MyGadgetsWorld I would love a report or even a video on the Brightness of this TV in a dark media room and whether it's overpowering/Uncomfortable on the eye OR incredible lifelike and pleasing to the eye.
I have a light controlled basement and love this TV feature set but don't want to destroy my retinas lol Love the content!
I Wanna see this tv vs zPanasonic jz2000!
Which is better LG CX 55 inches or Sony a90j 55 inches, am confused on which to get
Did you you comment on how the CX up top yet you have only seen it in a store, or on RUclips. Come on. A90j from someone who’s had both. Sorry but I’ll say it, the LG sucks for all other content other than gaming. For gaming maby LG is 1% better, but for all other content Sony is 2 years if not more ahead of LG. Worth every penny of the premium.
@@beeritch24 what about the LG G1 vs Sony a90j and am buying for gaming
On my Sony OLED A8H it’s there’s a setting under color, and to the left of expert 1 there is a neutral option followed by 2 other “warmer” settings. Everything else about the menu looks identical.
Is it in the game mode? I just have Expert 1 and Expert 2.
@@MyGadgetsWorld it’s under settings/display & sound/picture/color/color temperature/ : then there is 5 choices as follows: expert 1, expert 2, warm, neutral, or cool., by scrolling to the left of “expert 1” again this is how it is under last years model the Sony a8H 55” OLED. Yes in game mode. I hope this helps. Sorry I won’t have the a90j till next week. Sure everyone will ask about this. What’s your overall opinion on a scale of 1-10 with being impressed. ..... This is a nice panel...I need it for my PS5
Indeed.
is there any ABL?
On my A80J when I switch the HDMI input to enhanced, it loses signal to the PS5. Meanwhile it works fine on my Xbox. Any advice?
Is it a noticeable jump from the cx?
Yup specially for brightness
@@MyGadgetsWorld whats a better value 77 CX $3200 or $400 for 65 inch A90J?
You set HDR incorrectly on the PS5. When you get to the point where you can barely see the image and clip it, you need to clip it. You do this on the 1st and 2nd pattern, then on the last 3rd pattern you set it to the darkest setting. This is because it’s an OLED. This setting works differently on an LCD panel. Those instructions need to be changed because they don’t apply to OLED. HDTVtest RUclips channel has confirmed this. Also auto white balance is probably contributing to the blue light being locked turn it off, then go to color temperature.
Amazing job brother thanks. Love the content..
Apprecite it . :)
Expert 1 is the right warm color.....avoid that blue UV light, protect your eyes....
A side by side with a Q90T is going to be bad for the Q90T.
It’s not even remotely in the same price point so the Sony better look better lol
Defiantly needs a few updates but still a amazing tv can’t wait to have it too I still got my Sony 900 e but I got the Xbox series x and I want 120 fps can’t wait to get this tv

can i use this setup for a80j?
I saw a video that keep it classy did on a Sony a80j calibration and he went to adv color section and changed the r gains to to -3 and the b gain to -6, I think he said that may help balance out the colors. If you want to check out that video
Thanks for your review! Color space MUST BE 4 4 4 or RGB 10 bit !!!! Not 4 2 0 with him the colors are cropped dull remember friends !!!!
Is there any blur like the Sony x900h???
No.
