Ray is a drummer that everytime i watch him. I just watch in amazement with chills, he is the complete package. Their are so many elements about his drumming that i could go on n on about but to keep it short just the way he hits right through his strikes.. The innovation and dynamics are just mind blowing.
He is the real deal. I remember when he was skinny at MIT back in 98. He was one of the most liked and trusted at the school. He always made you feel like you could do what he can do.
First time I ever saw or heard of Ray Luzier was when I was 12 years old watching him play for Van Halen at the Gorge Amphitheater, where I saw my first set of tits from the lady in front of me taking her shirt off as they opened up with Hot for Teacher, and he threw his sticks like 20 feet into the air during the opening drum solo!
I love a drummer that can fun while they play. Not taking away from Ray ('cause he kicks ass) but his couple of slips from the studio only made him smile more.
Very well done🔥🔥 as per usual😜 Ray never fails to impress!! I’ll be 54 Sunday and I’ve been behind a kit since I was 7…I won’t even attempt this much work😏🤙 I’m sharing this video to group chat for my band rn…followed by the comment “Don’t even ask if we can do any K0Rn🤦♂️😂😂😂
David Silveria was the mastermind behind most of those beats. It's such a shame he fell off the planet basically. Such a huge inspiration back in the day. Ray was an excellent replacement.
Haha! Silveria…. A Mastermind? Ray could drum circles around David silveria any day. David couldn’t keep up and he’s not educated or getting session work like luzier.
Ray is an absolutely amazing human being (charismatic, funny) and musician. I still can't figure out how he manages stick flair tricks with this kind of percussion delivery.
Because DW hardware is far superior to anything else, let alone their drums (although there's several other drum [shell] manufacturers who are also incredibly, and arguably equally, as good & well made). Ive used a variety of different drum, cymbal, stick, head, hardware, mic & other percussion and musical instrument & sound equipment makes and models over the years, and ultimately DW hardware is what I arrived at while back, and still use to this day, and it's probably all I'll ever use... The one exception being (oddly enough lol) I have for years & currently still use the Pearl-manufactured ICON series drum set rack & the clamps that go along with it, and this is primarily because I absolutely love the fact that it uses square tubing (not circular/cylindrical) but everything else is DW, besides my double pedal. I love the DW pedals, both 9000 as well as the original 5000 series pedals, but for whatever reason, my current first choice is playing Tama Iron Cobras, chain driven.
Was not a huge fan of ray in the beginning but he's since really grown on me, I think he's ended up actually being a pretty good fit post Dave. But David Silveria will always be the best, most appropriately fitting (both musically & personality wise), solid, groove constructing pocket drummer Kø₹n ever had or will have. Miss that bloke
Being in Korn is such a waste of Ray Luzier’s talent. All that 7-string. De-tuned. Sludge-like tempos with no guitar solos. Just garbage. I mean Luzier is a formally trained, and schooled drummer. He played In David Lee Roth’s solo band - and just killed it. All those rocking Van Halen songs. Plus he’s played with plenty of other acts. At the end of the day he’s with Korn for the paycheck. He has to make a living as a musician- and this is a reliable steady gig.
@presidentvaxxxbooster5843 yea they lost all the funk and power to the songs i wish ray would try to incorporate some different stuff but just not anywhere near the same style
Awesome display of skill / talent, but I'd almost rather hear what tutorial and educational insights he may have spoke on during his portion of the clinic. Such a humble and relatable guy, I'd love to hear his insight on how some sequences just fall out of him without any apparent thought or effort, but seem so counter intuitive to me that I fuck up and everything falls out of order. A lot of times it's not anything really complex, but it glues the song together.
Don't wunna sound like a hater. But if I wanted to showcase my talent, it most certainly wouldn't be by playing Korn. I was playing those songs when I was 9.
I love Ray, but regardless of his amazing skills, he can't, and never will replicate or attempt to incorporate David's style. Unfortunately Ray butchers alot of classics that should be played as they were originally recorded. The OG fans would embrace him more. Look at Pete Webber in FF, he replicates Raymond Herrera with his flair and Eloy with Slipknot. That is how you become an icon when you respect originals. What he does to Blind is fucked.
Check out a video of me in the studio laying down some drum tracks to our original song called Confession.

I love watching Ray play! KoRn has been my favorite band from.the 90's. Ray made me enjoy them even more.
Ray is such a monster drummer! Love him!
Ray is such a badass drummer!
He's a funny guy in his interviews too.

I was there. Met Ray the next day on Sunday… nice guy! I told him he beat those drums like they owed him money… he said, “they did!” 🤣
Thanks for filming this @alleevisuals full video approved officially by Ray to come!!
Ray is the prefect rock/hard rock drummer. He has it all.

That was bad ass! 🤘🏼
Wow, so much positive energy
Love that center chyna.
Such a gunslinger! Love his playing.
tall guy in the back enjoying the show is a vibe.. not worried about taking videos with his phone, just present there

David Silveria has absoloutly went downhill with his drumming now days, unfortunately
@@the_minimalistic_adventure he needs to lose those bulky muscle, useless for drumming😅
13 years with Korn is a great achievement. Who wouldn't want to move on?
Haha! Silveria…. A Mastermind? Ray could drum circles around David silveria any day. David couldn’t keep up and he’s not educated or getting session work like luzier.

BEST!

such unique and technical drummer ray is
I may have to check out some Korn!
he is got a really own stylee
he's good !
Go Ray!
Impressionante. 😮😮😮😮
Legend
Aku suka pemain drum yang otodidak alami🥁👍😁
👹👹🤟🤟🔥🔥
uh oh I see myself rocking out next to the speaker.
Why does he use DW hardware
He is endorsed by DW for hardware and pedals and then endorsed by Pearl for drums only but can use their hardware and pedals if needed
Because DW hardware is far superior to anything else, let alone their drums (although there's several other drum [shell] manufacturers who are also incredibly, and arguably equally, as good & well made). @@njbinkers I understand, but why would Pearl stand for that?
@@hippiesaboteur2556 thank you for that, why doesn’t Ray go all the way with DW and use their drums also?
not my style of music but Ray is really good
so cazyy
ya, ya, ya...he is an O.K. drummer (sarcasm) but he is an AWESOME person!!!
I think they mic'd the wrong kick drum... unless its internally mic'd.
Sup cuh
camera people can get in the way can't they, that guy around the kit, out the way for the people please :-)
I'm pretty sure he was either working for Perl or Ray himself. I saw him hanging with Ray at other times when the drum clinic wasn't happening.
That would make sense then
I take back what i wrote
But even so, it is still distracting from the performance, at least for me :)
@@jarrahdrum just don't forget that for you to watch comfortably in your home, someone had to record it with a camera, so...

In the end, Ray will be remembered as the greatest rock drummer of all time. Dave who?
Didnt david voluntarily leave bc he hurt his arm or something tho? He felt he couldnt play up to his standards anymore
Rey is a good cymbal player but sometimes its too much. Ill stik to David, He knows how play his tom and cymbal in simple way and effective.....
@@Vor_Tex_Sun unique? Rey overplayed his cymbal. To much and sometimes anoying.

@yl_009 I mean David had a unique feel and dynamic..Ray is OTT. My bad. I mixed it up
@@Vor_Tex_Sun 🤣🤣🤣 I thought it was rey is unique, you said. Since 98' im a korn fans. I know what im talking.

Ya think they could have put that Pearl bass drum head on correctly!!!!!!! 😱😱😱
Why are they cheering for blind? "Yea! Woo! Play the cover of that other guys drum beats really well! Woo!"
So going by that standard , no one should cheer on a replacement drummer for a band???. Lmao, ok party animal
I know right. Next they'll be cheering for deaf... In all seriousness, I think you have Ray Luzier derangement syndrome.
💤😴
Noise
Hes about as good as any 16 year old battle of the bands kid here
No le veo centido tocar. Las canciones de korn como en un ensallo ..
David S. > Ray L.
@@5150Reaper are you 7?
David silvera was worlds better for korn. Rays beats are pretty boring and repetitive especially with that dead dampened snare
You dropped this 🧢

David hands down a better fit. Just look how Ray changed the old songs and the sh*t just doesn't fit.
Yeah agreed
Nothing special here
flat sounding drums...no thanks!
Bored already

Neat
Way too talented for this band
Well in all fairness Ray is a family member of Korn and gets a handsome paycheck for playing it.
Blind original still better. Ray got talent no doubt, but I feel it’s too much on the original Blind track
