For instance, setting up a 10 mile buffer zone on each side of the border with video surveillance drones and roving unmarked patrol vehicles with each side responsible for arresting and detaining illegal entries into their own countries would be a reasonable option that could benefit both sides. Also, drug detection dogs used to sniff out contraband in postal services would help. However, cutting off energy supplies can be used as a bargaining chip if a reasonable agreement is not reached just as a tarrif can be used.
