that's mostly brokerage that you can take care of yourself if you want to save the money. ask the shipper to send you the customs and you'll clear it yourself, go to the closest boarder and pay for the taxes and duties there, and email or fax it to the company shipping it. it's some foot work but that's what you are paying for in the brokerage and it's usually most of the cost. i got 29 years in the industry even having family that owns a brokerage office as well.

@cal7434 Not at all. He means there are more than just one option that should be considered rather than just blindly striking out at someone. For instance, setting up a 10 mile buffer zone on each side of the border with video surveillance drones and roving unmarked patrol vehicles with each side responsible for arresting and detaining illegal entries into their own countries would be a reasonable option that could benefit both sides. Also, drug detection dogs used to sniff out contraband in postal services would help. However, cutting off energy supplies can be used as a bargaining chip if a reasonable agreement is not reached just as a tarrif can be used.

He is using this and has always used ultimatums to justify stuff. Stuff that a baby does and then never follows up on it, or never removes the tariffs. Or if he does, he'll celebrate himself for an idiotic choice he made.
Most Fentanyl is a USA problem and he knows it, but he is Cartman. Always has to take stuff to the ultimate level of hypocrisy with his inflated ego and never looks for an actual solution.
3-4k extra a year for low-middle income is disgusting and he admitted during that interview the other day that he didn't really know and that prices might go up.
You also think he is grown up enough to lift tariffs? The guy has no empathy for anything, why would he start now?

So do you think only Mexicans come over the southern border? If not do you think only Canadians on come over the northern border?
Same in the UK, is it only the french coming in small boats?
The answer to all these questions is obviously no, the point is none of this should be happening on the scale it is, it is also simple to stop if each country enforced their borders correctly which they did up until 30ish years ago. Let's not even talk about the likes of Turkey and others using migrants as an economic weapon.
