BEST DRUM DEMO EVER!!!! Luzier is unreal! I've probably watched this 200 times already!
Everybody in that room is now deaf.... but, no one is complaining...
After having their minds blown, everyone in that room is now in a mental institution.... but, no one is complaining...
I've heard; everyone in that room now walks the earth, a nomad, fighting justice... and none of them complain...

Who fucking cares if Lars Ulrich is techniquely as good as Joe blow or Sam Smith .what Lars lacks is he is self taught and has learned to play with 80"s Tech. Which means rock star Tamas or export pearls no digital enhancements jamming out songs not playing with a metronome , learned deeply entrenched mistakes like not practicing with a metronome or not practicing period. Because he platued and strayed at that skill level and hot worse rather than better . .I know I can relate to learning the dums in the 80s mostly every drummer was a self taught mistake master and as long as they could pull off the set in an A room you were considered a professional and a great drummer Evolution of drumming had created drum gods we don't need to drop names do we ? By this new standard even Niel Peart sounds like the millionth best drummer I the world . Technology makes everything way more efficient from cars to drumming techniques far better pedals and hardware and more dynamic array of cymbals we didnt have in the 80"s .80"s Tech inhibited drummers from reaching full potential I believe .who still thinks buddy rich is s drum god? He's ok on comparison with the new age drummer aliens with sub human talent abilities..tell me I'm wrong ..you can't argue anything I've said .Lars is a victim of simpler times and still pulls. Off the set and he is and will always be a genius within his own rights ..I think I'd rather be an average drummer with a stupid amount of cash then a drum god that always had to blow people's minds or get taken over by some. New prodigy of the times or risk not being idolized . Not being idolized is a far easier road and still brings Lars bank acct up up and ridiculous . Who wouldn't like to be able to buy a Bentley so they could take a nap ?how many Lars haters are blue collar dudes that live pay check to pay check because they are talented drummers but pay to play still ? I'd say Lars ..you're a mother fucking genius for achieving what you've achieved 8n the music industry even a 10 times better than Lars drummer has trouble making a dollar from his craft . It makes no sense for any one to say Lars is not a genius and accepts his skill level yet manage to play in the biggest household name metal band there ever will be .hats off to Lars and his genius drumming style that pumps the heat of metallica to this very day .

Agreed, I attended the clinic for Michael Henry "Nicko" McBrain of Iron Maiden and its not that we don't appreciate what they are doing, as drummers we are taking it all in trying to figure out how he is doing what he is doing, playing along in our heads try not to air drum and smack the person next to us. Its a rare learning experience that we will probably only see once in our lives and we don't want to waste what they have taken the time out of their extremely busy schedule to allow us this up close and personal experience. I was 100 feet away and was not able to get this close, we had a monitor to watch though. Also what they didn't show was where he broke down specialized beats and began teaching.

To respond to "that crowd was lame" comments:
It was a drum clinic. Most everyone in there (myself included) were drummers and we were really paying attention to exactly what Ray was doing. It was a lesson and we were focusing on his technique and style. Were we supposed to be jumping around headbanging? This wasn't a concert, it was a tutorial. That medley was how he started the clinic, which went about an hour. Almost everything after that intro medley was him talking about style and approach to playing drums. He gave lots of good info and examples that everyone there could try on their own drums. Trust me, we were all very into it and amazed. We didn't want to miss a thing so we paid very close attention. Thus the "zombie" crowd. Idiots.
