The problem here is that in my opinion, Luzier's only minus is the fact that he loves to overplay, and he does overplay this version over the Silvera one, which is fine, but I still think that sometimes less is more, and the original song already has enough groove and fills. my 2 cents
This isn't his part, it's David's. The parts that Ray writes are much less groovy and more metal-esque. He does a fine job covering David's material though.
say what you want about Ray .... but imagine being a fan of Korn for years then all of a sudden your thrust into the spotlight with them , not only performing their previous hits but adding to their current ones. imagine the amount of pressure it takes to perform in a band that the fans want to to see the original lineup of a drummer you replaced , that's still touring since the very birth of numetal , and yet you go out there every single night and work your ass off to deliver for those very same people and make them fans of your own..... call me crazy , but even though David did a great job for Korn while he was with them and his original groove will always be missed ... I think Ray does an awesome fucking job of filling that roll and you can tell he loves it and is so proud to be a part of it as any of us would be to even be involved with this band so many years later and have the passion that they have on stage every night.

If you've heard David live, he plays it so linear. Ray plays it like how it is on the album. He includes the snare rolls like it should. David just single notes the snare and quite frankly that ruins the song in my opinion by being lazy with your own music.

So refreshing to see a popular metal drummer who isn’t cheesing constant double bass and quadruplets. It’s easy to impress non-drummers with those tricks but I’m exhausted from it. This whole song is nothing but killer groove and was awesome to see.
I'm not even a Korn fan, I just love and admire his effort, timing, endurance. The man is just busy but compliments the band. From David Lee Roth to Korn. The guy was being under utilised.
Ray is amazing, no debate necessary. But this is still like watching someone forge a brilliant copy of a timeless masterpiece. Dave's ghost is all over this. Props to both excellent drummers.

With that being said I prefer and totally miss Silveria with these cats behind the skins. He brought that unique power and groove to what they are now.
