@@charlescainv5722 Working with Patrick as a group is not something you can't keep in the long term. He himself said it in an interview, he likes autocracy when it comes to being in a band hahaha. But at least they gave us a single great record.
I had the honor of meeting him. This was back when he first joined Korn. Hadn't heard him play yet. He was doing a pre-show introduction of thier new album Korn iii. Phenomenal drummer blew me away with the way he played. At one point he threw a stick right at me. I didn't see it coming but felt it graze the top of my ear. He made a comment about it afterwards. My buddy got the stick. I got an autograph and a handshake. Very down to earth extremely nice and humble. Definitely one of my favorite drummers!!!
this is really cool, these are the exact fills that ray does in his epic outro in army of anyone's "goodbye"- really cool to see ray break them down, especially the 2nd one, because it's totally the luzier signature fill. nobody does it like him. or even sounds like it. most ppl prob know him from korn but army of anyone is one of the best albums you will ever hear, complete musical masterpiece.
We saw Ray a couple of times when he was in Roths band. Great drummer and fun to watch. Way cool when drummers do videos like this. Sharing their knowledge is very helpful. Wish more drummers would do this. Guitar players too. I wish Alex Van Halen would do some of these videos. I think we have seen the last of him. We saw Alex a bunch of times back in the day also. Would have been awesome if Eddie Van Halen had done some guitar videos. Thanks, Ray. I will use all of these tips for sure.
This is some of my favorite type of content, and stuff i like to teach myself. Really simple, easy to understand stuff that sounds incredible when executed well. Love ray, well done.
I always had trouble unintentionally being left foot leading on double bass, although am a right handed drummer. Never knew Ray played that way. Don’t feel as guilty anymore!
Again, you can lead your fills with whatever limb you are comfortable with. Guys that started out with one kick(and most did) are going to lead with that foot whichever one it is.... left or right. I was surprised to see Ray lead with his left foot also. He's so good, he can probably do it either foot, with a chain wrapped around one ankle.
Lol i have both his hats and ride. Big thanks to Sabian for the 21 AA rock ride in brilliant I special ordered from Sweetwater last month. I love this thing!
@@TheDrumminjay claims he broke his back and kept it secret (sounds like bull). Then he was a whiny little B talking shit. And tried to come crawling back after many cry baby fits. Then he sued them. Prima Dona. If he had kept his mouth shut, he could've came back. But he burned every bridge.
Thanks for your tips on fills.👍 I get tired of the same old grooves and fills. What you do is different and sounds great! I'm going to the kit and practice now!
0:42 " Playing in proggy bands like DAVID LEE ROTH"?? I must be in the wrong timeline. Some major shit went down in this reality, that im not aware of.
I'm not sure why but I can almost "unconsciously" come up with unique, cool sounding fills when I'm playing a single bass pedal. When I go to a double pedal it's always some multiple of 4 and 2 as singles between my hands and feet??? *(RLRLKKRLRLKKRLKK)* 🤔🥁
Robert, I'm by no means the level of Ray, but if he or others haven't told you already.....you are not limited to anything as long as it's comfortable. I use triplets all the time with my feet. Two bass drums doesn't mean 2 and 4 and nothing else...
@Kren Wregget First of all, what is sad is a name like Kren Wregget. But my point is it's sad there are saps out there criticizing drummers like Ray about their chosen cymbal tilt positions. Which by the way, a tech set up in 20 minutes. Ray walked in with 3 minutes to make adjustments and said, "roll it".
This guy’s just fun. The kind of guy that makes music fun to hear live
One of the best drummers in the world
While he is so good, you absolutely feel how down to earth he is.
Could watch him all day
When I first heard him on Army Of Anyone I knew this guy was special. Great drummer.
Never heard of that band. Thanks for the tip
Underrated album, I thoroughly enjoyed the supergroup they had for a minute

@@stonerdemon that's a shame
Thought the same thing when I listen to that album. The drumming is great
It's all perfect, all of it. If you know anything about this instrument how could you not love what this man is doing to it. Thankyou Ray

Ray is amazing!!! Totally mind blowing on every fill, on every song, every time.
Thanks for sharing the need to be dynamically consistent between the groove and the fill!
Lazier is a genius. The sound of those Pearl drums is amazing, gotta love them.

Those Pearls and Sabians sound heavenly, I'm in love with the sound of that snare drum, btw Ray is a master!
Ray is a freaking beast ♥️♥️
Thanks Ray. I had wondered how you did some of that. The breakdowns you did were helpful.
I'm seeing plenty of fills from the KXM records too, like Stars or I'll Be OK 🤘🏻🤘🏻
This mix sounds so clean
Awesome! Thank you….
Ray's straight ahead moments are the fills.
Never been a fan of Korn, but Ray is a great player. Really smooth and groovy.
Korn is great. Love Ray’s work with the band, especially the last 3 records
RAY LUZIER ! Period 😅
I loved David’s bombastic power style but Ray has added a new dimension to KORN. Dude is so underrated in the drumming community.
Thanks a lot Mr Luzier!
Unbelievably good! Love the way you explain what you do and that everything has to start in the head.
The ride is incredible by the way!
The man is a freaking beast. Thank u RL

Never feel guilty. Do you think when people hear recordings they know which limb someone led with? If it sounds right and feels right, do it.
Your not alone i do same
Dave Lombardo said he's leading with his left leg playing DB
Sean Reinert (R.I.P.) did the same thing.

Brilliant. Thank you.

Korn couldn't have found a better drummer!!! DUDE you fukn rock, Ray!!
David Silveria not busy.
@@CFChristian whatever happened with that? I like Silveria too, I just thought he quit due to musical differences.
@@TheDrumminjay I think he was kicked out. But now he's in another, shitty band. Looks like a coke addict with fake muscles.

@TheGuruStud dam, that sucks. Always sucks to hear shit like that with all OG bands like korn, but they did strike gold with ray
Such a tasty groove and nice fills!

Ray “Gos like this” Me . going back to the beginning to start over slow 😂
AMAZING
Awesome beginner fills. I hope he shows his advanced fills soon.
This Video is amazing 🤘🏾🥁🧡 thanks a lot to Sabian, lets keep drumming 💯🥁🔥

Nice work
Ray it's all right on drums...thanks Sabian!!!
Best drummer on earth. No doubt
That guy is badass.
Awesome, man..
Ray is a monster
Vibration of the gods
Anyone else just now noticing that he angles his cymbals away from him slightly so that he can hit the edge easier?
Jazz trick...Louis Bellson, Buddy Rich, Max Roach. Gene Krupa all did that.
Nice! Props for playing in those shoes too. LOL I know I couldn't.

Mr. Phil Rudd, ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Phil Rudd 😂
I'm sure he hates this. I don't blame him.
🤍
Well. Helps to be right handed…. Groovy tho mate
Everything is double bass
A little quicker....
sad to see a drummer of Ray's talent fall prey to the awful trend of tilting cymbals away from you.
He's probably bored.

Ray is great but that floor sound like s**t ;-P
So I like ray as drummer but I can’t stand watching him in Korn with his like theatrics like I don’t like how he turns into like a weirdo
Theatrics works it made you bring him up.
Keep practicing kid.
Ray without his eyeliner is...normie.
Ray wants to pass off as a man, for a change.

Wasn't the drummer of that shit show Korn band?
