    As a disabled person, sometimes theres a golden child/unloved child dynamic going on in abusive families. In Rosie's case, her disability may have caused her parents to vilify her for having extra needs or being "imperfect". They might've then favoured the other child and abused the other. This happened to me.

      @QueenIrene4382 2 года назад +44

      @@ginanotafan1039 yes and while working with the animal, there is still a risk to both the animal and the child. Sometimes people do everything they can and it isn’t enough. Sometimes it IS best to rehome. Also there are people like Anna Faris who have a child and then discover the child is extremely allergic to the dog.
      There ARE valid reasons to rehome a dog and that is part of why some animal shelters have stipulations (only dog in the home, older children only, etc) to avoid putting the animal in a negative situation again.
      Edit: I’ve literally worked in an animal shelter to have a black and white view of why people rehome is extremely hurtful to people who have done everything they can. There are situations where it is best for the animal. And yes there ARE people who ask another family members to raise their kids or they place them in a facility because they are a serious danger to the other household members. Thank you for your point on how not all self-harm is cutting your arms with a razor blade. When I was in middle school and high school, I was extremely on Tumblr. Not enough people talk about the damage done to our weird micro generation. I unfortunately found a lot of clever ways to never be seen as the "typical case" self-harmer out of immense fear that people would think I'm "doing it for attention". That paradoxically made little mentally ill me feel like I was faking because the girlies are Tumblr are more "authentically" depressed. That site gave me such weird complexes.

    There are support groups for parents and relatives of children with disabilities. The experience of raising a child with a disability can cause emotional/physical exhaustion, a difficult time connecting with that child, etcetera, and it's important to have a support network. The last thing you should want is for your child's disability to affect how you feel about them.

    I remember transitioning from tumblr to twitter in 2013 and the circle I was a part of was in that realm of young girls who used both platforms religiously (lol). Everyone I was friends with clowned on her sooooo hard. Everyday people were making memes about her and making fun of her. I probably joined in at the time cause when I was 16 I wad a sheep and wanted to participate in what was funny lol. The number one insult i remember people calling her was mispronouncing her name as “akakia”. At a point it got over the top to to me and obsessive to just essentially love to hate her. I know she’s done bad things, and in ways yeah she is a bad person… but I do feel bad about how cruel me and my friends used to be to her. I’m glad I got out of that phase in my life and can evaluate people on a rational level rather than emotional one.

    • @keithgm9574

      it depends the amount of times they hear screaming honestly. i grew up in a house where people would scream at each other a lot (so it wasn't even directed at my dog) but when people would raise their voice my dog would start shaking and he'd hide. So yes, if you're yelling at someone or at your dog all the time, they will develop an anxiety disorder/ptsd. they're living creatures, not objects.

    • @maddygullotta2551
      @maddygullotta2551 2 года назад +12

      @@keithgm9574 I do think it also depends on the dog. My childhood dog got yelled at a lot to stop barking but it just assumed we were barking with it and sometimes she would listen and stop barking. But it was never truamatic to her, you just had to yell to get over her barking.
      We took care of the dog really well lived until it was 19. But it was a jack russel that would bark a lot. But our other dog Rosie would be the type of dog to get anxiety if you yelled at her. We know this so we never yell at her. She gets anxious with loud noises in general so it would be truamatic to her.
      Also no one said dogs were an object. Like chill out.

    • @chococat2400
      @chococat2400 Год назад +7

      it really just depends on the dog, same way one child who gets yelled at may turn out fine while another could develop extreme anxiety or possible worse. my mom yells at my dog when she barks/ does any behavior my mom deems undesirable and its made my dog develop horrible anxiety, to the point that she’ll sometimes get so scared she defecates. and from what i remember the dog acacia was yelling at already struggled with behavioral issues so i think it’s incredibly wrong to yell at an animal like that instead of addressing the root of the issues :/

Just to get an animal and not take proper care of them is just a sign of carelessness and stupidity. I was 15 when we got a dog on my request, and I was the only one taking her out in the morning anad evening, feeding her, playing with her, taking care of her. There is no excuse. I even covered the children’s faces myself before reposting it because I found it so disturbing. I don’t think that was a mistake, anyone with a brain could connect the dots on why that was disturbing. That was the point of no return for her in my opinion personally. I won’t give her any excuses for that and when she was ignoring Rosie crying after leaving her alone on the floor.. in that clip you hear her yell “I hate that” to I’m assuming Rosie before returning to the computer. She also posted them in only fans content… I think cps should have been involved and I still do. I hope those kids are doing okay, specifically Rosie.

    I can't say I liked this video because I found it to be really sad, but I think it was a well done video and I watched the whole thing. I've been ninging all your content in the last few days. As a mom of a special needs kid, I legit cried when poor rosie was stepped on by the dog. I would NEVER leave my kid alone on the floor in the dark unsupervised with a dog around, even if the child did not have a disability. I am insanely worried for Rosie, and I hope that these two parents step up and treat her better. Also the stuff with the animals. I just lost my cat I've had since I was young and the last year he has basically been in hospice care and it has been incredibly difficult, not aesthetic and kind of depressing and gross, but I did what I needed to do because when you adopt a pet, I firmly believe it should be for forever. But on the other hand I am kind of glad those animals were rehomed because who knows what would have happened if they weren't. I remember Acacia from the old tumblr days, but I never knew much about her personal life. I don't like the things she does, the kids, the racism, the pets but also I feel really bad for her. Honestly what she went through sounds traumatic, and it seems like either mother or father or both really drilled into her that she needed to "be a star" or something and she craved all that attention. I definitely also think it is terrible that she obviously had mental health issues and no one helped that poor kid. But again she is an adult now, and I would think she would have gained more insight from what she went through...I hope also she stops showing her kids publically that is really scary that predators are collecting her kids photos. I think Acacia needs someone to help her, sit her down, therapy, something.

    on the hairless cats suppodely being hypoallergenic thing, i think it's so ignorant and irresponsible that people perpetrate that misinformation because like you said, its not really the hair that's the allergen for people allergic to cats, it's like the oils on the skin and skin flakes and saliva and stuff. sphynx cats need regular bathing because of the dirt and oil buildup they get since there's no hair to absorb it and keep it off the skin so theoretically they can possibly be *worse* for people allergic to cats
