I met Debby briefly at my bachelorette party (we just happened to be at the same bar) and she was so kind. She waited while my friends and I took pictures (accidentally blocking her path) and then said we all looked beautiful. She congratulated me on getting married too. Also her skin looked flawless ✨

The internet “cool kids” like to collectively label themselves as so quirky, different, and the main characters but will straight up bully Debby Ryan for just being who she is while never ever rooting her own horn. This video showed me that I actually really love Debby Ryan. I feel like if I was an actor, I’d do the same things she did. She honestly did make history, she’s also the first main character who was an adult on Disney Channel. She doesn’t get the credit she deserves, but I’m glad she knows her worth
That thing about the mascots is actually awkwardly common in the south, especially in colleges but it’s always an open secret except to the kids.
A mascots head came off while he was doing a backflip and you would’ve thought he was streaking with how fast literally everyone in the immediate area went to crowd over to cover him and get his head back on lol
I am dying at the rock references because my favorite random Debby Ryan interview clip is the one with architectural digest where she shows that her and her husband have a bust of the rock.
I was an extra on Jessie and had the pleasure of actually working aside some of the cast. Debbie really was a an absolute joy. She truly had the brightest and kindest attitude on set - smiling and laughing with others.
I also got to meet late Cameron Boyce - all around Jessie was such a joyful set and Debbie really did that!!
Debby Ryan actually seems really sweet and weird and I’m glad she’s getting a deep dive!

I really loved Insatiable 😭 I know it had its faults and it was camp and utterly ridiculous, but it was also fun and the way it talked about binge eating and toxic relationships with food was THE most relatable for me. Like when she's so upset she resorts to eating cake by the handful and she just can't stop? I felt seen.

I specifically knew I wasn't going to watch that scene just for personal wellbeing. But the showrunner genuinely put so much effort into making sure that 1) that scene was not in any way comedic and 2) that Debby felt okay because Debby also dealt with BED at one point. I will give the show props for showing BED in a very honest way and treating it as a real issue within all of the wild satire

Yes, I heard horrific things about the show beforehand but I really liked it and as you said, it made me feel seen. Therefore, it hurts when people discredit its satirical approach and just deem it as „bad“, because they don’t understand it.
i have seen horse girl and as a big fan of horror movies, i say it's pretty decent. it's very well thought out and all sub plots are covered perfectly. the movie is more 'mildly disturbing' than scary

I just want to take a moment to highlight how kind Justin Bieber was as he introduced himself to Debbie. I like how he stopped mid question when he realized she was standing right there to say hello.
For the whole josh dun and the rock thing, josh always has a bit with celebrities kind of like a troll. For example almost in all behind the scenes of twenty one pilots music videos, you’ll see josh making a bit about renting a property/house/boat/farm from will smith, gradually thanking him for his generosity. That’s also the same man who took off his pants when winning a Grammy on stage. So hearing someone outside of the top fandom being confused with josh is really funny😅😅

Insatiable was wild. I didn’t know who Debby was before it, I got really into the first season before the last episode broke the spell. I liked the pageant coach character and his wife, Alyssa Milano. I rooted for them. There’s a line from it that will never leave my head. This lady makes a snide remark about her husband and Alyssa turns to her to pop off and starts with “I love, *love* my husband. Fruity kaboodle and all.” Idk why that stuck w me haha

As a girl named Jessica who was in 3rd-6th grade when Jessie was airing, I had to stop going by Jessie and start going by Jessica during that time because I could not escape the "hEy JeSsIe, WoOhoO" anytime someone said my name. Josh and Halsey were friends, and they were SO close that fans though/think they were hooking up (just recently found this out as well; just thought they were a popular ship, didn't know people thought they were fwb). Allegedly, Debby was uncomfy with this, so she told Josh to stop being friends with them, and a bunch of texts leaked. Specifically, of Josh and Debby planning it. I'm assuming this drama happened earlier than when I first read about it since Debby and Halsey were roommates. I'm still not sure if this was fake or not; up until this point I was half convinced I hallucinated it until I saw a Twitter thread way too recently discussing it. I do remember Jalsey fans hating Debby for a bit.
I'm sure twenty one pilots/ Halsey historians can fill in the blanks or correct me, I was around 13 when I first read about this 😂 but people were wayyy too involved in these people's lives

As someone who is both fat and bisexual, I never felt insulted by Insatiable. I actually really liked the show and I wish it wasn't canceled.
SAME! I mean I’m not fat, but I am bi and tbh I just thought the creator was just leaning into the stupid shit people say. I don’t think it needed to be challenged bc tbh people just say that awful shit. With how wild the show gets, I found these parts the most realistic. I wish it wasn’t cancelled but the ending kinda gives a choose your own ending vibe that I don’t mind.
I think the majority of the people who criticize it have never experienced the reality of being a bigger person and they just don’t get it. While I never finished insatiable it was the most relatable show I’ve watched in awhile.

I feel people were put off by the plot summary itself and how blunt and satirical the show was, and how it didn't take itself seriously. It's one of those shows you gotta watch past the pilot before you form an opinion.
i do remember debby's casting for the suite life on deck being presented as a contest/nationwide search. i'm pretty sure the "search" was only like commercials and not actually a series or special. maybe i am misremembering things but i'm pretty sure that was the way debby's casting was portrayed in the lead up to the premier of the show.
I don't know if I'm misremembering something but I was sure I did remember this contest and I swear there was online voting to vote for your favorite video and they would win. This whole time I have believed that this was an online contest she won. I have never felt more deceived in my life.
I always thought Debby was cool she reminds me of Jennifer Lawrence with her sense of humor and felt like a person and not an actor like most child stars to me growing up who either wanted to act really young or was forced into acting she just felt like a normal person
Fun fact: it's believed Debby and Josh are going to be a cameo in the new fast and furious movie as they were seen filming at an airport with John Cena. From the footage it looks like it'll be a very short appearance but it's pretty cool as Josh seems to not only be a fan of the Rock but also of F&F ☺

Honestly I loved Insatiable lol. It’s so wildly camp. Like as someone with a history of ED, it truly felt like the message was that the mindset of ‘I would do ANYTHING to be conventionally attractive and thin’ will ruin your life. Is it perfect? No, like it’s a total mess, but it’s fun. Although now that you mention it, I do wish I lived in the universe where it was produced by Ryan Murphy.

The character Bob has a wife, but based on how he acts and the fact that he's clearly attracted to another man (also named Bob lmao), the audience is meant to assume that he's gay and in the closet. I think he may even make biphobic comments in the beginning, but he comes to realize that he's actually bi (and also probably polyamorous).
He ends up making out with the other Bob in front of his wife, and she's surprised to realize that she's into it, and they end up having some threesomes. But it eventually falls apart because he wants to be with both of them, but they both want to be monogamous (plus other Bob is kinda biphobic).
I just found it interesting how they subverted expectations with his character.
Yeah it’s almost like people shouldn’t cast judgements on a show after only watching the trailer or half the episodes lol. If you only watch 6 episodes, you really don’t get into much development of anything

I also have to say that yes I agree on the points you said on Insatiable, there certainly are multiple distasteful jokes and other themes that are just objectively bad. But at the same time, that show made me realize I have an eating disorder and the show's satire is really funny sometimes. To me, it really is a dumb silly show for older teenagers that also battles tougher topics and I've seen other people with eating disorders who feel comforted by it. While it deserves criticism for sure, I loved it.

omg the radio disney contest thing... there used to be commercials on radio disney for "open casting calls" to "be on disney channel" and all you had to call this number and i called it! I was on hold for hours and then was told to show up at a .....convention center? hotel? in Philly at a certain date and time. I was actually working as a kid actor in Philly the same day so my mom took me before my call time, and it was a panel of "agents" that interviewed every kid one by one. Turned out to be a scam and they were just selling acting lessons to kids at a crazy price taught by estiban from suite life of zach and cody. Maybe that came into play somehow? Idk it was the STRANGEST thing i had ever done! Oh- and this was 2008 i believe!
I remember going to this one in Philly too and they asked me and my sisters about on a “scale of one to ten how much we wanted this” & I took the rating scale way too literally and said like “8” while my sisters I believe said like a billion or something. Then they had us each read a little commercial script and then I thought nothing came of it. Then years later I learned my dad had gotten a call that they picked my sisters and he almost gave them the money for my sisters to do acting lessons but then he researched it more and found out it was a scam so he decided to not go through with it. I don’t remember seeing anyone famous at the auditions, but I always joke that I was so bad at acting that I was not good enough for a scam audition 😂
