I think it's an absolute flex and what sets her apart and kind of proves her innocence is: 1) the variety as opposed to obsession with one singular person and 2) the network of people she worked with BEGINNING with her dad. I was kinda friends with the toronto version of stalker sara for a while and it fascinates me how they have the same sort of misinterpretation of their celebrity encounters. I'd see this stuff firsthand, watching my pal meet these celebs, get pics, and then seeing her telling other people about it later felt like she was recounting a completely different event. She'd also lie to me all the time, like telling me she was partying with insert-celeb-here last weekend, or that this big incredible thing happened with a celebrity conveniently right after I'd left. It used to make me so upset that I never had any cool encounters like the ones she did, and years later I realized she was just stringing me along with these amazing stories so I'd keep hanging out with her. I don't know why it never clicked at the time, probably because I was a teenager and she was older (red flag factory right here) and I wanted to believe one day she'd find me cool enough to usher me into her (fake) life of being bffs with every celebrity in the city. Hmmm so idk I had never heard about her, but the interviews with her saying things like the "I helped a drunk up and coming actress and put her makeup back on and got the paps to delete the photos" just feels very fake to me. People that are GOOD at lying for attention will usually have a level of believability- she's obviously very good at getting these photos and figuring it out, and yes I think being respectful is a huge part of that strategy. But the implying like you are friends combined with the fake pap calls etc just really feels like her interest in following celebrities was built in her desire to be seen that way too, which she was able to create. I say that from personal experience of people that I have known with similar stories who were not being truthful. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle. My guess was early on celebrities found it kinda funny and unique and especially people that were lower level famous (the sonny with a chance guy) prob found it fun and interesting to be included and that led to being like eh yeah why not help her? But it sounds like a lot of those situations were spun into exaggerated concepts of friendship, which seems to be the take of the author as well per the Harry Styles situation. Could she have been way worse? Sure, but I don't think not taking photos or dropping huge stories puts you in the friend or great person category. At the end of the day, not stalking people at all seems like a better option. Demi's words may have come across a bit harsh but I'd be willing to put money on the fact that she was probably vocalizing what a lot of people were saying behind the scenes. It feels clout chasing to me.

I was very worried I was developing a weird obsession so I switched up my interests to Motown music and TV shows like The Patty Duke Show and Mr. Ed. I'm not an obsessive fangirl, I'm just autistic. When you're deep in your feelings about something, it's easy to be blinded to the unhealthy levels of admiration and dedication you're experiencing.
I find the term stalker to be unfitting for Sarah. Stalkers tend to focus on one person they’re obsessed with, following them around, taking a lot of pictures and keeping them for themselves to look at, often threatening and or harassing them months, years or even decades... Whereas Sarah was just a teenager who just took every opportunity to meet and then take one or two pictures of a celebrity, posted it to social media and then moved on. The sheer amount of celebrities she’s met alone kinda makes her NOT a stalker. If it was one celebrity she focused on and she did all that to them, it would be very different.

I think it's an absolute flex and what sets her apart and kind of proves her innocence is: 1) the variety as opposed to obsession with one singular person and 2) the network of people she worked with BEGINNING with her dad. If anything, this could just be something her dad spurred and they wanted something to do together now that her social circle was so small due to homeschooling. The fact she was receiving tips and hints from paparazzi and celebrity managers alike allows the blame to be shared.
Well most stalkers that are obsessed with celebrities tend to be harmless. The people that stalk "regular people" like an ex or a classmate they are the ones that tend to be dangerous. I was kinda friends with the toronto version of stalker sara for a while and it fascinates me how they have the same sort of misinterpretation of their celebrity encounters. I'd see this stuff firsthand, watching my pal meet these celebs, get pics, and then seeing her telling other people about it later felt like she was recounting a completely different event. She'd also lie to me all the time, like telling me she was partying with insert-celeb-here last weekend, or that this big incredible thing happened with a celebrity conveniently right after I'd left. It used to make me so upset that I never had any cool encounters like the ones she did, and years later I realized she was just stringing me along with these amazing stories so I'd keep hanging out with her. I don't know why it never clicked at the time, probably because I was a teenager and she was older (red flag factory right here) and I wanted to believe one day she'd find me cool enough to usher me into her (fake) life of being bffs with every celebrity in the city. Anyway! This video reminded me of all that and their vibes are so similar. Wonder how many other stalker saras there are out there!

Hmmm so idk I had never heard about her, but the interviews with her saying things like the "I helped a drunk up and coming actress and put her makeup back on and got the paps to delete the photos" just feels very fake to me. People that are GOOD at lying for attention will usually have a level of believability- she's obviously very good at getting these photos and figuring it out, and yes I think being respectful is a huge part of that strategy. But the implying like you are friends combined with the fake pap calls etc just really feels like her interest in following celebrities was built in her desire to be seen that way too, which she was able to create. I say that from personal experience of people that I have known with similar stories who were not being truthful.
The truth is probably somewhere in the middle. My guess was early on celebrities found it kinda funny and unique and especially people that were lower level famous (the sonny with a chance guy) prob found it fun and interesting to be included and that led to being like eh yeah why not help her? But it sounds like a lot of those situations were spun into exaggerated concepts of friendship, which seems to be the take of the author as well per the Harry Styles situation. Could she have been way worse? Sure, but I don't think not taking photos or dropping huge stories puts you in the friend or great person category. At the end of the day, not stalking people at all seems like a better option. Demi's words may have come across a bit harsh but I'd be willing to put money on the fact that she was probably vocalizing what a lot of people were saying behind the scenes. It feels clout chasing to me.

Honestly, mad respect to Sarah. I think the key parts are being non threatening and and having an iconic look. If you just showed up all the time in random outfits you wouldn’t have the same recognizability. When I was 15, I had a crush on a professional baseball player. I memorized all his stats and doodled his number on my notebooks. Went to a bunch of Mariners games to see him. I knew his birthday. I was very worried I was developing a weird obsession so I switched up my interests to Motown music and TV shows like The Patty Duke Show and Mr. Ed.

When you're deep in your feelings about something, it's easy to be blinded to the unhealthy levels of admiration and dedication you're experiencing.
I find the term stalker to be unfitting for Sarah. Stalkers tend to focus on one person they’re obsessed with, following them around, taking a lot of pictures and keeping them for themselves to look at, often threatening and or harassing them months, years or even decades... Whereas Sarah was just a teenager who just took every opportunity to meet and then take one or two pictures of a celebrity, posted it to social media and then moved on. The sheer amount of celebrities she’s met alone kinda makes her NOT a stalker. If it was one celebrity she focused on and she did all that to them, it would be very different.

I suppose I’m one of the very few who didn’t find this behavior iconic or interesting. I honestly find it kind of horrifying that she managed to track down so many of these celebrities, especially when so many seemed uncomfortable with it. Just because she was a teenage girl doesn’t make that behavior harmless or less scary for the people she was tracking down.
I don't find it amusing or iconic at all either. She knew where everyone was, she spent days chasing down Harry Styles. She interrupted Zac and Vannesa's private dinner date, something if we'd all done... we would be branded as desperate and creepy. I know people are saying it's harmless but it's really not, it just looks like it.

I'm very conflicted about this. On one hand, props to her for being able to meet so many celebrities and from the sound of it, having pretty nice interactions with them. On the other hand though, it feels a little weird somehow. I guess she never really crossed any serious lines but it also feels like she was 'collecting' celebrity encounters and putting too much focus on chasing them.
