- Autumn is quickly coming to an end, and winter is saying hello. It seems it's already our tradition to plant garlic in snow, and this year isn't much different 😃 Even though we're experiencing the first snow of this season, our garden still provides, so we're continuing the harvest despite the cold weather. And that means more time in the kitchen to process everything :)

What a nice surprise to get a T&P video on a Monday! You are usually the youtube highlight of my week, and to get a bonus episode! Wow
Aww, thank you very much, Mark 😊 Makes us happy to hear that 😉
Love love the babbling. Watching you both interact makes my day. I have brought my geraniums in every winter for 5 years now. They come back just fine in the spring.
So nice that you like the babbling, more is coming 😃 We are looking forward to spring and all the colorful geraniums 😊
Hi guys, my house is 105 years old and needed the storm windows put back for winter also. I envy the ease of which yours can be taken in and out. Only a trace of snow so far 😊
Hi Gina, no need to envy us, the windows are in a bad shape and it wouldn't be much fun to live in the small house with no insulation or anything 😁
Happy Holidays! Love Peter's babbling and Tommy's stoicism. Much love and happyness to you both.
Thank you, we are glad to hear that 😁 Happy Holidays 😊
Winter is here but even in the cold you guys have fun, I do enjoy watching your videos Thanks and take care of each other
Yes, we've been enjoying it, we like snow 😊 Thank you 😉
Gentlemen,
I know the old farm house is probably damp and cold at times, but, oh, those thick walls, the winter windows that you install - even down to that homey table cloth you have on the kitchen table - so real, so enduring. But so much old-world charm - that I miss so much from so many long years ago when I lived in Germany.. Home is where the heart is, and thought I am thousands of miles away, my soul will always long for home - in Europe..
And the little dog: Why would it want to return home? It knows where love abides - they sense it. It may belong to the neighbors, but it has given its heart to you two for safe keeping. Speaks volumes about your love and kindness Reminded me of a passage from one of our great American writers, William Faulkner:
((And a little dog, nameless and mongrel and many-fathered, grown, yet weighing less than six pounds, saying as if to itself, “I can’t be dangerous, because there’s nothing much smaller than I am; I can’t be fierce, because they would call it just a noise; I can’t be humble, because I’m already too close to the ground to genuflect; I can’t be proud, because I wouldn’t be near enough to it for anyone to know who was casting the shadow, and I don’t even know that I’m not going to heaven, because they have already decided that I don’t possess an immortal soul. So all I can be is brave. But it’s all right. I can be that, even if they still call it just noise.”))
- From the short story, “The Bear”, by William Faulkner
And lastly, those beautiful sweaters that both of you are wearing. Both of you wear them well - handsome husbands…!
Love and respect from Yakima - always…..
Aww, thank you 😉 It all looks very romantic with cozy music and such, but better not take a closer look at the houses. They are in quite a bad shape, far from ideal 😃
Haha, don't know if the dog felt the love, he just loves exploring and doesn't care about fences 😁
Thanks for watching and see you next time 😉
Great video, Tommy & Peter. I enjoyed watching you make applesauce with your Christmas hats on, and I loved the nighttime snowy walk. Thanks so much!
Thank you, Rebecca 😊 Glad you liked it. More Christmassy videos are coming 😊
Another beautiful video! Thanks for giving us a glimpse into your winter wonderland❤. Greetings from Sunny South Africa.
Thank you, glad you liked our tiny bits of snow. There will be more in the coming videos ❄😊 Greetings to South Africa 😉
Tommy has become the Head Prep Chef! 😅 Now we need Peter to make him an apple cobbler, please. It's just so yummy, hot from the oven on a cold winter day.
Are you guys going to buy Christmas cookies again this year? I'm waiting for you to surprise us with a episode of Baking With Peter.🎄😋
I had to google apple cobbler and it sounds very good. I shall make it one day 😁 Yes some of the Christmas cookies have been ordered, but hopefully we'll have time to bake our own as well 😊
Even though you are self sufficient I’m thinking you may probably leave your property. It is so wonderful! ❤
Yes, we might leave to see more beauty in nature 😊
With Peter's love of alcohol I'm surprised you haven't made any cider with all those different apple varieties you grow!
Haha, we tried making what Americans call cider - which is just apple juice without alcohol, and that didn't work out very well. It made me laugh when you mentioned my "love of alcohol" 😃 We'll see what we'll try in the future.
It's beautiful when it snows: everything appears magical and even the villages look like a fairytale. Surely during the night walk in the snow you sang "Magic Moments by Perry Como". Hello from R and D 🐝🐻❄
Yes, very beautiful and magical. We love the snow 😊❄
16:09 nice Santa hats, gentlemen !
Thank you 😁😊
Oh dear! Hi Tommy and Peter. Hope you are well and keeping warm there. We watched both videos on preparations of your garden for the winter time. As always we enjoy your staying at home in the kitchen preparing some tasty foods harvested from your garden. It is so nice to see you two together and looking so cozy. Your videos gives us this nice feeling of warmth and togetherness. Thanks for sharing these precious moments. Stay well and warm. 💑 ♥♥♥♥👩❤👩
Hi, thank you 😊 Makes us happy to hear that you've been enjoying our videos! You two stay warm as well and see you next time 😉
Merry Christmas, Tommy and Peter, many Blessings ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you, Kristine. More Christmassy videos are coming 😊
I'm a gay man , sadly living alone , for reasons of failed love relationships , I have enjoyed this latest video ,as I have all your videos ,
you two lovely lads are so lucky to have each other , it's a pleasure to watch and listen to your cute accents , your home and gardens are a carbon copy of what I'm trying to achieve ,
I have over the last 6 years developed and nurtured beautiful garden areas at my second home in Ireland which I've been renovating ,
which has included planting an orchard , thank you so much for being there, and for sharing .
Love Tommy
Hi Tommy, thank you very much for your nice comment 😊 So cool that you also have a garden that you have developed. It must be beautiful in Ireland. Let's wish each other luck that all the plants and trees grow greatly in our gardens 😉😊
I've heard Mikulas told his pal Mikolaj that you were very good this year... 😉 I couldn't agree more! Thank you for the wonderful content you created this year! Your videos brig me inner peace and balance 🫶🤗
Hi Mateusz, it looks like both Mikulas and Mikolaj got the message, yay 😁 Glad you like our videos 😊
Wow the snow lovely couple your so lucky to live there enjoy
Thank you, glad you liked it 😊
I love your babbling - it's right up my alley 🥰 There is often a confusion between Geraniums and Pelargoniums. I think that you have Pelargoniums on your window cills. Thank you for the snow - we have the rain 🙄
Thank you, happy to hear that 😁 We think Geranium is an American term and Pelargonium elsewhere. In Czech we call them "pelargonie" 😉 There are many different variants.
Amazing to see the snow and what it is like on other parts of he world. I am in Australia and summer is coming. Our Max is currently 30+ deg C. I enjoy seeing your part of the world. Enjoy your apple sauce. It looks good.
Thank you, Ron. More snow is coming in future videos, so it will be even more different to the hot Australian summer 😁
The apple sauce sounds delicious. We visited a friend recently whose wife is German and we were served with spicy apple butter. It was gorgeous. It tasted just like Christmas in Germany. We left their house with a jar of it which we will eat over Christmas. I was in northern England last week where it also snowed. It was magical. But you’ve thrown out of my routine with your surprise Monday video. But thank you, it was most welcome. Best wishes from Ireland, Stefan x
Thanks, Stefan 😉 So nice that you could experience spicy apple butter, sounds yummy 😁 Sorry to disrupt your routine 😃
@@tommyandpeter But your fans await eagerly some explanation as to this surprise early-in-the-week dropping of an additional (but most welcome) T&P video. In fact, it’s with both anticipation and bated breath!! 😉🙄❄️
I was just babbling a lot, so there was too much footage and had to be split in two parts, yay! 😃
@@tommyandpeter I think you’ll find your fans enjoy your chattering. It’s rather endearing. 😀
Howdy Guys!! Happy Christmas to you & yours! I hope that Santa fills your stockings with everything you hope for!!!!!!!!!!! Big hugs from Kenny Ohio USA!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Kenny, thank you! More Christmas videos are still coming 😊
Sooo good to see you guys here on a Monday. And almost in Christmas mode with snow as part of the landscape.
That spiced apple sauce looks very yummy even to accompany salty foods.
Peter, do you say that Tommy is ghosting you? Hmm....but who is the king there? Insubordination? Will he be punished? Lol.
Kisses, until next time guys.❤
Hi Liliana, thank you 😊 Haha, we'll see about Tommy's punishment 😃 Next time we shall get more into the Christmas mode 😊
Great video. I think that maybe that cute dog doesn’t speak English. Thanks guys. ❤❤
Thanks, Andrew 😊 Yes, Tommy was saying the same thing 😁
The village looks so magical blanked in snow. Do you know the ancient mythology regarding snow? Persephone, daughter of the Goddess of the Harvest Demeter, was abducted by Hades while she was picking narcissus flowers (daffodils) and taken to the Underworld. Demeter went into a rage and let all the plants die. This is Autumn and Winter. Her daughter was returned and we have Spring and Summer. I hope this is accurate. I had to sweep some 🕸️ from memory. Thanks for the video ❤❤
Hi Greg, that sounds so interesting, we had no idea 😊❄
Hi Peter Tommy what a great video so much to do before the weather gets worse clearing up the garden , my dad was the same he would not throw any thing away out of the garden we were lucky my mom was a great cook some times you have to use your imagination . But look at you guys getting ready for Christmas the place looks beautiful in the snow . No snow here yet but very cold our neighbours the uk have it though . Take care Peter and Tommy stay safe and warm . ❤❤Anne
Hi Anne, thank you 😊 Yes, all the garden produce pushes us to use our imagination how to use it 😊 Then cooking and baking with Peter happens 😁 We love Christmas so we love when there is snow during the holiday season 😊
Hi fellas this was great..
Iv had little success with garlic..
Making vinegar in a large bucket for your years supply with apples may well be an option.. You can also acidify it after the fact for making cleaning products by adding a little more commercial vinegar to smaller quantities.. Checking the ph is also a good move.. Getting a mother as the process develops is also nice. .Process can be quick and simplified as the product is strained anyways and then add the mother to the finished product after straining ..
Steam juicing also works to use up large quantities of apple use whole apple and discard the pulp if you have plenty apple sauce..
Kindness your way..
Lochness Scottish Highlands.. Fallen apple vinegar is a good point of reference on rose red homestead channel on u tube..
Hi Neil, thanks for the tips. We plan to try making apple vinegar but we need to find time for that. Hopefully it will happen this season 😊
Thanks for sharing guys❤ I recently found your channel and have been trying to catch up to ALL your travels, gardening, etc..Loving your vlogs..I like your Santa hats and sweaters..I planted my garlic in October and has grown about 4 inches tall, I have a poly-tunnel(green house) and grow something year round..I never get rose hips on my roses? Happy early Christmas, just because, tis the season😊
Thank you Michael, we are happy to hear that 😊 Sounds like you are a great gardener, always growing something. We also want to have some kind of green house in the future. The rosehips are on wild roses - they are called dog rose. And we also have special "apple roses" which have big rose hips. All of these are not normal decorative roses.
If you want to escape winter you can come visit me in south Florida. I am half Slovak! We have a guest room with its own bathroom and the weather is hot all year long.
Wow, so cool! You probably know that Peter is from Slovakia. Was one of your parents growing up in Slovakia? 😊 Florida sounds like a nice warm escape 😁
@@tommyandpeter my four paternal great-grandparents came from Slovakia to the US about 1900. My grandmother spoke Slovak but I can't. (Ahoy). I've been to Slovakia once and Czechia twice. It's beautiful.
Wow, so interesting, glad you were able to visit 😊 Ahoj and see you next time 😉
The best applesauce is made with just apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, 2 table spoons of sugar.. I prefer chucky apple sauce so I don't blend them. Added bounce is making apple sauce cookies and cakes.
Sounds very good 😊
🇲🇽👋.Brrrr.🥶. We don't get snow at all here. But it looks pretty, especially for Xmas. We love Peter (Is it Petr?) and his helper in the kitchen. What is the smiley face in the water barrel? We love you guys🩷
We always want a lot of snow, it can look so pretty. Definitely better thatn colorless muddy weather 😊 It's Peter (in Slovak it is Peter and the Czech variant is Petr) 😉
The smiley face in the barrels is a thingy for birds, if they fell into the barrel, they wouldn't drown.
that is very thoughtful to think of the birds 💗@@tommyandpeter
Your Apple Trees are really *producing*, considering their age / lack of fertilizer/sprays. Here in the states. grocery stores are charging $1 an apple (on sale) !! Stay Warn guys. }{ugs
Wow, that is expensive. We are glad we have our own organic apples, yummy 😊
Rose hip jam is the only jam I eat since I was Abel to make such decisions for myself lol. Always was forced to ear plum, mixed this and that.. hate them all, rose hip is best...Tommy can I lend Peter for a month to teach Miron how to make jams 😀
We don't actually eat many jams, because we prefer raw fresh fruits (or frozen ones) - they are so much healthier without added sugar. But from time to time it's nice to try something new, mainly when we have a lot of fruits 😊 Miron should watch some RUclips videos and learn 😁
@@tommyandpeter well i usualy eat jam instead nutela and such cra***p with pancakes, wich i dont eat often or during winter when i want something sweat so i put jam on bread and butter lol. but only rose hip, no other... actualy he is very good cook and baker, but stuff like jams and winter stuff ( we call it zimnica), like cucumbers, paprika in jars, ajvar etc are not his thing. they prepared them for life only with basic things in youth communas after they reached age of 15, coz at the 18 they were out from orphanges..
It is pretty here as well, but with -14C it's not worth it (-18C during the night) - way to early to even think of those kind of temperatures :(
Sounds very cold but we wouldn't mind, we like frosty winters with snow ❄😊
Monday??? 😳
On what soil did you grow the Gojiberries? I have them in pottingsoil in a big pot. thanks for sharing x
Hi, the soil is nothing special. We just dug a hole in the garden and planted the shrub 😁 It's a normal, not very rich soil. From what we noticed, goji berries are quite hardy and low-maintenance.
Are your goji berries growing well? 😊
no they don't haha i need to put them in the ground instead of a pot with potting soil. so i think i give it a place where it can grow nice and big. thanks for sharing and the tip.@@tommyandpeter
