For anyone thinking of big chopping, based on my own experience, I recommend wetting the hair then using conditioner not just water or water mixed with conditioner. Don’t stretch the hair out when cutting and cut SMALL pieces or you WILL cut off more than necessary but at the same time not cut off enough and have to cut twice.

Yes girl you have the perfect face for it!! I know about the knots. I had a quarter size knot in the the back of my head. I worked on it for 3 hours. I said forget it and the next day I cut it out! Your hair is beautiful...so thick!!!

Hey girl, My hair looked the exact same way 8 years ago, My relaxed hair was locking up, on my birthday ugh. I got in the mirror and start cutting. My natural was only 3 1/2 inches long after the big chop, it took some getting use too. Now my hair 10 to 12 inches long and very healthy. I'm so proud of your courage. Educate yourself on caring for your hair type, that's about 4a to 4b Research, apply no heat or color, keep your hair and scalp moisturized! I wish you the best on your natural hair journey!🌟🙏🏽🦋

I’m in my 7th month of transitioning, I don’t have as much spring back in some of my curls. I will be having my hair stylist cut mine when it’s time. I’m trying to last a year but it depends. You do a good job cutting, hair will be great. Thanks for the video.

The struggle was real with the relaxed ends that required more time and patient I was willing to give. The only issue is keep this twa well moisturized but I am confident I can handle this😉❤. I also did this few years ago, I did a lot of cornrows, washed hair every 10 days with head&shoulder and wore headscarf, I really feel it helps speed up hair growth a little bit
The fact that this was the only growth you had after 9 months is crazy. It’s literally HELL transitioning after that 12 week mark and you went 36 weeks chileeeee. Ima gone and wait 1.5 years and master doing lace wigs so I’ll be ready to braid this down 😂
@@dawnaporter9932 right I’m approaching 9months, I’m ready for the chop, my curls are looking more defined but I don’t think they are ready, I do have less straight hair then I had in the 7month. I go to a salon and get protective styles, and I take a week or two break, before my next style. I am trying to last until spring 2025. Good luck.

Congrats on your Big Chop and new natural journey. You look flawless. I finally big chopped today as well and I absolutely love it lol. I feel free from bondage of two textures lol. The struggle was real with the relaxed ends that required more time and patient I was willing to give. The only issue is keep this twa well moisturized but I am confident I can handle this😉❤. Thanks for sharing. Btw try doing a wash-n-go or mini twist for quick styles.

I also did this few years ago, I did a lot of cornrows, washed hair every 10 days with head&shoulder and wore headscarf, I really feel it helps speed up hair growth a little bit

The fact that this was the only growth you had after 9 months is crazy. It’s literally HELL transitioning after that 12 week mark and you went 36 weeks chileeeee. Ima gone and wait 1.5 years and master doing lace wigs so I’ll be ready to braid this down 😂
@@dawnaporter9932 right I’m approaching 9months, I’m ready for the chop, my curls are looking more defined but I don’t think they are ready, I do have less straight hair then I had in the 7month. I go to a salon and get protective styles, and I take a week or two break, before my next style. I am trying to last until spring 2025. Good luck.
