    OMG! If I could give this video an award for best RUclips video in existence I would!
    Thank you so very much for posting it on here, you completely saved my day and solved my recurring problem that I couldn’t figure out how to fix that my machine repair shop didn’t even realize existed because we never had a conversation about how I was putting those parts back together and they just assumed my problem was from build ups of lint and such whenever I took it in for a tune up because that’s what I assumed was the cause and when they put it back together correctly afterwards nothing would be wrong anymore until I open it up again.
    I had no idea this was the correct order but it explains everything and now I know how to fix it if things ever get misaligned again, genius!!!!!

    Thank you so much for making this video. Not only did I learn how to make sure the bobbin case has a little movement to keep the thread from wrapping around, but I also learned the pro tip for using a nickle to remove the screws - everything else was too large. Again thank you.

    I was having threading issues with the bobbin case for my Presto 2, the thread would jam inside the metal plate and teeth. Every time I unscrewed the plate, cleaned the jammed thread, place the bobbin case, then screw in the plate, the problem continued. Your suggestion to place the plate first, then place the bobbin case NEVER crossed my mind. Needless to say, doing that HELPED me out big time. The thread jamming issue has stopped. And now, for future reference, I know the correct way to placing the bobbin case if I have to remove it again. Thank you so much.

    How do I put my needle clamp back on my baby lock Ellure plus. PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME???? I’m begging you 😢. I need a video with instructions. You are the only person I have found on you tube that knows what they’re doing

      @arxmechanica  3 месяца назад

      @1964donmhood i don't currently have one of those machines, or one that is similar, to make a video at the moment. If my memory is correct, you probably have three pieces. A small screw, to attach the assembly to the bottom of the needle bar, the needle clamp itself (with needle clamp screw inserted), and a thin metal spring plate that is folded in many dimensions that goes around the clamp when assembled. Am I correct?

    i have a janome memory craft 6000 (my mom's from a million years ago) and my top thread is getting stuck between the bump on the bobbin case and the metal plate/spring. i cant find anything in the manual for troubleshooting this issue. Any ideas? great channel! Thank you from Canada!

    • @arxmechanica
      @arxmechanica  2 месяца назад +1

      This is actually a common issue with Janome machines. The bobbin case stop (spring plate) position needs to be reset. Loosen the screw and position it so that the the bump on the bobbin case is in the center of the flat sping and the thread can pass by smoothly by when forming a stitch. Tighten down the screw without moving it's new position. Hope this helps.

  • @Yewbzee

    Thanks. How much should that bobbin case rotate once in place? If I put in place without the metal plate on top and turn the mechanism it rotates back and forth much more than when the plate is on.

    • @arxmechanica
      @arxmechanica  Год назад +2

      Yes. It will move much more with the metal plate off. There is a stop on the bottom of the plate that keeps the bobbin case in place. Always lock the metal plate down tightly with both screws before inserting the bobbin case to avoid damage.

      Make sure your upper thread is securely in the take up lever. If the thread is not, the machine will jam right away.

    I have a brother 2600 i can't get the bobbin case out without removing the plate..? The metal arms of the plate wrap around it. Am i doin something wrong

    • @lorim2074
      @lorim2074 8 месяцев назад

      Likewise, I've noticed the same thing with the XL2600i, but I was able to notice that after screwing the plate down, it affected the bobbin case position. So I made sure it was correct and able to wiggle a little as mentioned in the video. Then I added the bobbin cover plate, which didn't interfere with the bobbin case. After testing, it works great. I also rethreaded the machine for good measure. 👍
      Good luck with yours, too.

    My Baby Lock Jazz 2 is brand new and yesterday I wanted to use it for the first time so I threaded the machine and grabbed my fabric but the fabric was getting pulled down and the thread was bunched up and stuck and the machine gave me a warning sound. Do you know why this is happening? It is brand new never used.

    • @arxmechanica
      @arxmechanica  7 месяцев назад +1

      Check to make sure your upper thread is correctly threaded in your take up lever, would be my first guess.

      @@arxmechanica Thanks for your quick response. I did do that and everything looks good.

    • @arxmechanica
      @arxmechanica  7 месяцев назад +1

      @SantaCruzBetty make sure your feed dogs are engaged and the stitch length is set to feed the fabric. Also remove the clear bobbin window and make sure that the bobbin case is inserted correctly. Check that the bobbin case wiggles left to right a little bit to allow the thread to pass around the bobbin case. If it doesn't, remove the needle plate and correct the bobbin case's position so that it does as shown in the video. Use only plastic class 15 bobbins with that machine.

  • @nancywalker1325

    The needle plate goes on top of the plastic bobbin case cover. It's impossible to put the bobbin plate on after the needle plate.

    • @arxmechanica
      @arxmechanica  2 месяца назад

      The plastic slide plate slides on and clicks into place AFTER the metal needle plate has been securely installed. That is how it is designed.

    machine is 20 minute old. but i am getting a bird nest under the project and it is always attached to the needle plate. tried replacing the needle, and bobbin. hate to return but don't know what to do.

    • @arxmechanica
      @arxmechanica  7 месяцев назад

      Make sure your upper thread is threaded in the takeup lever properly. If that is correct, make sure the bobbin case wiggles left to right slightly and isn't locked under the needle plate. Also, make sure you have the correct bobbin for the type of sewing machine. All three of those things will cause the problem you are having.

    • @arxmechanica
      @arxmechanica  7 месяцев назад

      If it's a new machine, you can be fairly certain that it's user error and not the machine itself.

  • @elimitchell6147
    @elimitchell6147 Год назад

    What about if the thread gets tangled with the bobbin

    • @arxmechanica
      @arxmechanica  Год назад

      Make sure you have the correct type of bobbin. There are many shapes and sizes of bobbin. Only ONE kind works with your machine. For instance, the machine in the video uses a class 15 bobbin ONLY. Any other type of bobbin will potentially cause poor stitching or damage to the machine.

    • @arxmechanica
      @arxmechanica  Год назад +1

      Also double check that your upper thread in securely in the take-up lever. If it is not, it will get caught down around your bobbin/bobbin case, since there is nothing to pull it upward to form the stitch.
