I use a thin stick with microfiber tip I got on Amazon (cheap). I think they are made for another job? I stick in all the open areas very lightly & pull out large tufts of lint. It works like lint magnet. I’m amazed at what is down there. I am very gentle. I’ve heard the can air can push lint farther into machine so I avoid. I clean often!
Excellent demonstration! I just purchased a new-to-me BLDC2 and your video is perfect. A tool that I use is a very small dental circle brush (used between teeth) to get in the tiny places to get the fluff out. Thank you for taking the time to explain your reasons for doing each step.
Perfect. If you can address lining up the needle with the hole in the needle plate...I just changed my Baby Lock Destiny's needle plate to the straight stitch one in order to set up for free-motion quilting (FMQ). The manual states to use this needle plate, rather than the one made for embroidery. Now my needle doesn't line up with the hole, but hits the plate. I haven't used this machine since it was last cleaned and serviced. I hate this machine. Way too heavy to carry, and way too complicated to use. Takes a half-inch thick manual to go through to follow directions to set up for anything. I bought the Juki 2010, and have done FMQ on that, just wanted to try the Baby Lock because of its larger throat space.
No need to remove plastic bobbin cover first. The whole assembly comes out as unit. Once screws taken out, simply push from back to front. Has tiny ledge that it pulls away from.
Thank you! I’m one of those people who would drop the screw into the machine. 😊

Why your baby lock embroidery machine is not picking up bobbin thread?
