Meme my Aunt Ruby used to grow a garden every year and she would put up tomatoes corn and okra in jars for the winter. It made the best soup I have ever had. I still grow my own every year and my wife puts it up for us ! Thanks for bringing back such good memories

I like to take a roast with potatoes and carrots and transform it the next day into a pot of vegetable soup. I just cut up the leftover beef and vegetables then add more if needed with a can of green beans and some frozen corn. Then I add some more seasonings, and beef broth and let it simmer for an hour or two. It's a great way to reuse leftovers and warm and filling supper on a cold day.

This is perfect timing. My husband and my dog had surgery today, (hubby was out patient) so I got to the grocery store late tonight and we're in a smallish town. The only thing they had besides hamburger was chicken breasts that I can cut up into chicken tenders. They're my weakest dish! I love your recipe Miss MeMe. I never thought that you could bread them all at the same time. That's a genius move! Thanks very much. My husband loves chicken tenders and you know you always have to sneak one to the dog too. He's a good boy and I was worried, but he's fine :) Thank you again, you saved me.

I’m impressed that is a lot of chicken for that budget amount, good job! Everything looks delicious and you can never go wrong with some vegetable soup and cornbread. I just ordered about 12 packages of cornbread from Amazon that I just add eggs and oil because I am prepping for winter and I like a lot of cornbread and chili and soup in the winter time. Thank you for sharing all your recipes. I super appreciate you and all the time you spent in the kitchen and with filming and I know it takes a lot because I used to have a RUclips channel and that’s a lot of work so thank you so much for all your hard work, I save many many of your recipes.

We have lot of huge pots- at least 12 quart. Lots of family, children grandchildren, even their friends. I helped mama, “Nanny”. Love homemade veg. Soup and with cornbread too. Baking plans equally large. I just bought beef to make the soup. Soup bone and brisket stew meat - not a lot. Just for flavor. I like the yellow corn meal too. Love cracklins. No cracklins with soup. I am from Florida but Southern heritage. North Carolina Georgia Alabama. A little sugar won’t hurt. Very pleasant relaxing cooking. You are a chef all right enough. I tried your tomato pie recipe and it was delicious. Next I'm going to make the peas and dumplings. I wish you would do a transparent pie bc I had it once and it was so good but I don't know how to make it. I love your videos from Kentucky.

Good for a rainy day supper! Everything looks so good. One question - what do you do with the grease from the fried chicken?

My grandmother made cornbread in an iron skillet on the stove. We cooked it in butter no grease. It was like eating cornbread pancakes, but they weren't sweet.

I loved both recipes; the veggie soup was painless and doesn't take all day plus I'd probably add potatoes. My son loves chicken tenders and I'm going to purchase chicken breasts and save tons of money. Bless you for sharing your wonderful recipes and money saving tips.

I do not... but someone recently suggested that I add it to my spaghetti sauce and it was great! : ) May try it next time.
