Removing the found footage style will definitely kill the charm....This is one of the very few franchises that consistently pulls it off. KEEP THE FOUND FOOTAGE
Yeah..... True true, we all love FF, BUT.... It did get a lil corny when the 1989 surviving girl was filling everything with her 8mm camera. Seems a lil unrealistic having to lug that thing around while having her demonic sister running around. But I get it, there needed to be FF explaining things from then
I used to hate found footage, now I can't find enough of them 👍🏻 right on man
Just watched it and to be honest it's not fully found footage even now. There's spooky music/sound effects that are completely extradiegetic, and the way it's edited together has no logic internal to the story (if the editing and sfx were supposed to be diegetic, it would be an incredibly disrespectful film to put together in the story's world, seeing as real people died and you're adding stingers to their footage and artistically making theatrical cuts). Shame, really. I agree the charm of such films comes from being raw footage given raw context.
Margot has to be one of the most annoying horror movie protagonists I've seen in a long time. I couldn't wait for her demise.
I wish we would’ve got to see instead of the camera cutting out. Would’ve been better pay off
Same, I was screaming so hard how f‘ing annoying she is
#RebeccaDidn'tDeserveThis
She ruined the movie and almost made it unwatchable
I hated Margots character so much😂 I just couldn’t believe that she would still stay in the house after everything they’ve seen && how mad she for at her brother and girlfriend (the rational ones)
thank you! what an annoying, hardly believable character..
"Guys listen to me, I know this house is definitely haunted and we are in real danger in being haunted or even KILLED by these ghosts. But like, clout is really cool."
@@aistepupinyte3005I wouldn't say hardly believeable, some people's own massive egos and selfishness can have them do really stupid bs at the expense of their close ones and often even themselves.
reckless cryptobros are good irl examples, or ppl who gamble on volatile investments in gen.
She ruined the movie. Annoying and too witty.
I hated it when the three of them were talking after the whole Rebecca zoom meeting thing, and Rebecca told Margot and chase that she’s not fine and she’s freaking out and chase was clearly worried but Margot just shrugged it off with a „she’s fine“ like EXCUSE ME? SHE JUST TOLD YOU SHES NOT FINE AND MARGOT HAS THE AUDACITY TO DENY HER FEELINGS ???
i love how chase refers to the smell of the sheets as an old sweater, which is exactly how sara describes the smell of the abbadon hotel in the first one
Chase wasn't schizophrenic, he just had the misfortune of meeting an Abaddon lure.
Is it just me, or is Chase the most likeable character in this series by a wide margin?
I love Pinstripe the most!
100% I liked him the best, then Rebecca, whats her face was so unlikable I keep forgetting her name
I actually liked Chase and Rebecca. Margot was such an atrocious character.
yup, I almost cried when we saw what happened to him, dude was a sweetheart. rebecca was a likeable character as well. margo I do like but in a "this is very realistic rep of a selfish prick with a massive ego" way 😂
he is 100%. i watched the original and expected to like the characters in it as much as i did when i watched this one but none of them lived up to how sad i was when chase died
This movie gave me the creeps more than the other 3 movies. In my opinion, Margo should've left the storage room locked. If those clowns are indeed possessed by something, leaving it be would've kept them alive. Because they were not the only ones who stayed there for a few nights and others were okay. But if the clown is Patrick, who dressed up as the clown and laid dormant, I wonder why only after all these years only now he started killing again.
Yeah but Margo was supposed to have been sacrificed years ago, when she was a child, remember? She was almost kidnapped. That was with the whole hotel child sacrifice thing.
So it kinda circled back when she went there.
@@taniele84True. She felt like it was her fault that they died but she could've been a victim too.. she ended up being the victim just much later
I haven’t watched it yet, is it actually better than the first one? Because the first one legitimately the only horror movie without jumpscare that actually scared the hell out of me
@lloydbonafide3398 what a shame, i actually get hyped by the comment but is it actually worth the time or it just another typical full of jumpscare horror movie?
@@irhamauliarachman8394just watch it and decide for yourself. There’s some good scares in it, even if it isn’t as good as the first. I think it ties with the 2nd one, and definitely better than the 3rd. The clowns don’t look like mannequins at all and the “house” was a hotel pretending to be a house, but that’s a production problem. Some scares were good and they did a nice job on building up the anticipation. However, I would suggest never watching Foundflix, BEFORE, if there’s a chance you’ll watch the movie just so you don’t have it spoiled for you. Definitely watch FoundFlix after ,though. Give it a try.
Biggest misdirection of this whole thing was the caretaker not being evil. As soon as I saw him I was like, "oh, he's in on it." But I guess not? So he just wandered around the place and was always fine?
Maybe they need him bc is the one who can bring people to the mansion?
I was also thinking that maybe he was keeping that one door purposefully locked for safety; maybe he found a way to create some kind of barrier? I could totally be reaching. I also don't know how Margot got the door unlocked....If I remember correctly, that was never clarified. Rebecca asked Margot, "you got the door unlocked?", and Margot just subtly nodded her head. Plus, the caretaker would know if they got killed or went missing, he would most likely be a prime suspect...not something he probably wants to deal with. It would have been interesting to see him being questioned though - considering the fact that their bodies were found.
I think whenever a sacrifice is made, it opens a gate. So... A gate at the hotel, another at the fair, and another at the manor. It would also explain how everything could be moved around. I bet the artifacts at the antique shop were moved from the manor to the hotel through that gate. What do you wanna bet it messes up time, too?
I wanna see another movie like totally vintage and at the Fair!
Damn that scene where something was taking pictures of Rebecca and then screamed in her face was creepy
Every time i hear the word "unalive", i cringe because it's so stupid that youtube thinks ppl are soo sensitive that saying the word "kill" or "killing" is not allowed 🤦♂️
Or rape
Thank you! Finally, someone with some sense!
I’m actually liking this series. It’s creepy and establishing some cool lore. Kind of a breath of fresh air
I'm hooked af
I wanna see someone actually try and fight the clown lmfao
Let's get Brenda from Scary Movie XD
@@blackbirdfilms1966nah. Get ray. He knows how to mess up a clown.
@@ggr1zz The clown will be the one running from him!
@@blackbirdfilms1966my thought hahaha I would’ve been throwing hands left and right, ain’t no way I’m going down without a fight
Regarding @27:17 In the very beginning of the film, Becca's brother says that Margo and Becca's bodies were found in the manor. A NY detective called him and told him. Not even 5 minutes into the movie.
I bet brother is in part 5!? He's a good actor and character. He has strength too, so he can put up a good fight I bet both physically n mentally
28:37 Potential theory:
Considering that the cult would have members in physical forms whilst their OGs have since accended to the spiritual plane, some members could've been taking up the mantle of the Clown outfit. Hence the clown appearance in 2005. The same theory could be explained how the clown manniequins could've been moved from the hotel to the Manor. They could still have members potentially moving artifacts around whilst leaving little to no trace.
exactly what i thought as well!! i got hereditary vibes at parts.
They mentioned in the third movie in the early 2000’s a fair opened up in the land of the hotel and a lot of people (or kids) went missing. I believe that’s part of the connection
Yes!!!!! They even show everything all rundown. They shut down because too many people went missing
Nothing wraps up the weekend like a new FoundFlix video!
Facts
Amen.
Dead Meat to start the weekend, Found Flix to end it.
Yup
@thunderchunky9518 Amen to that. I also enjoy Cinemasins, their content covers all movies, but I love them all the same!
I definitely found this movie the creepiest of the Hell House movies. Just wish the main character didn't suck so much. At least Alex had a reason for acting the way he did in the first one.
But damn when that clown was walking down the hall i was just yelling HELL NO!
I know right?! Multiple times during the home invasion they left the door unlocked_ and then the girls didnt even resist!
I'm surprised you didn't mention the post credit scene where the clown is peeking at the investigator(?) lady through her window
This one is definitely the best in the series
What!?!?!?!
@@kingjester1416yeah, it also basically says there’ll be potentially another hell house movie
Wait it’s a post credit scene???
@@ronaldmcdonaldjuniorghost Yup. Just went back to check it out. Creepy.
@@ralphodinaka2435 cool 😎 ima go check it out later in the future
I watched this one after it first came out on Shudder and I found it interesting. The story felt a lot more thought out than the first three movies and some of the jumpscares worked pretty good. One thing I will say though, was at times it felt like the story didn't make sense. I think it's because they're probably planning a prequel trilogy or something of the like, so it had set up for future movies. Overall, I do think the creators of the series have a very creative mind when it comes to the found footage horror genre!
It’s nice to see a series learn and grow instead of devolve
That photo scroll during the video call was amazing. Totally got me
I wouldn't be surprised if because of the Hell portals, time has no meaning. Pretty much like the last Paranormal Activity movie. They can shift from 1989 to 2008 to 2023 which would explain the gaps.
The clown leaning against the wall in the brother's room looking kinda gangster ngl lol
I rewatch your llc videos super often so I'm so glad to see your covering of the series continue!!! As soon as I found out about this film, I've been looking forward to you going over it!!
For what reason
When the clown started walking, I was done. Finished! Finito! Ya'll can have this movie back.
I was hoping you would cover this! So happy you did. I love the added lore in each movie and the 4th installment adds so much.
never understand why didn't they go back through the road they coming into manor instead of went through the forest and found all the abandoned cars, house, barrel.
They worked hard to die tho because they did alot of reckless shidd from never locking any doors , sleeping separately with 3 people, turning their backs , running in that one room ,chase was drinking 😂, they never acted really terrified to me and kept separating lol😂 it was hard to watch based on the characters actions
It was better than I expected. I quite enjoy all of the Hell House movies.
They enjoy you too
Same. Not the best or high budget by any means, but entertaining nonetheless.
It aggravates the heck out of me that they didn't use this entry as a prequel. It made the most sense and I think it would of been fun to actually go back to where this first started.... In my opinion of course....
comment below you mentioned how it would make sense if time didnt matter bc of the hell portals, so your idea would make sense if that was true, it’d be pretty cool.
God, that jump scare with the pictures on the computer scared the hell out of me when I first watched this. I'm sure the story will make more sense as this next series goes on, or at least I hope so. Great video!
Yeah that scene was really good
😅😅😅😅 I scream so loud .... my partner came into the room and asked me if I was ok
@@ShaytoSweetthat shit was genius too. Great idea
Shit was terrifying
13:26 another quick thing to note is that after the jumpscare the background of the computer has 3 hooded figures on it
These cultists are only in the woods.
I thing They're "protecting" victims from escaping.
Margot may be one of the least-likeable horror protagonists I have seen in a while, and this is in a genre that practically makes a competition out of having the most hateable characters possible. Also this movie completely dumps on the rest of the series and completely trashes all of the events of the last movie all for the sake of some incredibly tacky and poorly-executed scares. Any subtlety and intrigue was driven into the ground in exchange for random, half-assed 'spooky' moments. Also, why does the footage from 1989 look like it was shot in in the mid 60's?
As soon as I finished the movie I was like wtf and came here immediately hoping that you'd covered it and you did not disappoint lol thank you!
Not gonna lie as I seem to be the minority here. But I hate these "oh through convoluted means it was not the end". It feels like a cheap cash grab to me. Plus, the ending was perfect for the trilogy! It was a literally battle of good and evil with good winning and all the main characters throughout having definitive endings. It was perfect.
I just posted a comment similar to this. I felt like the original trilogy did a great job tying things together. I don't know where they think they can go from this point.
Maybe they’ll wrap up the next few like they did with the third. A message like “there will always be evil but good will prevail”. A continuous cycle if you will
God bout to send Russell again to kick some demonic ass.
Russell: "How many times do I gotta teach u this lesson old man!?"
This is the beginning of a spin off series tho
@MagisterLux not in this movie. We need Russell back
This movie scared me so badly that I had to ask my bf to go to the bathroom with me in the middle of the night. Those clown mannequins were terrifying.
Bradley actually says at the beginning of the movie that they found the bodies of Margo and Becca at the house.
I could be the only one, but I found this one possibly better than the first one. I am also surprised he mention the catch of pinstripe after the credits in the window.
I still give the edge to the 1st one but this is easily my 2nd favorite Hell House movie. It was so much fun
Wow the first one was pretty damn good so I’m looking forward to this. Can’t even watch this whole video now, don’t wanna spoil it
No one is ever the only one. No one is that unique and special.
@@englishatheartyou’ve certainly got the physical appearance of someone that would believe that.
I have to agree. The first one stands up on its own but this one is even better. The scares were very good and the characters are much more likable and interesting compared to the first, which makes the ending even sadder if you ask me
I think something to consider with these movis is the potential of the gates to hell having some time shenanigans going on as well
Oh hell yes I just watched this last night. Thanks for reviewing it 😊.
At the start of the film they say their bodies were found in the house.
havent watched a found flix video in a while and a new hell house vid feels like the right video to jump back in on
Same
Jeeze Margot is right up there with terrible friend/family found footage MC. Right next to Alex from the first movie and Scarlett from As Above So Below
This movie and When Evil Lurks were my favourite horror movies this Halloween
See, I'm one of those sceptic killjoys when it comes to the paranormal. Hearing about places being haunted and whatnot doesn't bother me at all. I don't even believe in aliens.
But I would have left the house the moment the bloody corpse showed up on camera. That would make a believer out of me in no time flat, and I believe that it's time to go!
I find that to truly immerse myself in these kinds of horror films and take them somewhat seriously, I have to shave off several IQ points from the characters. What idiot doesn’t LEAVE AFTER ESTABLISHING (w/ footage) THAT THE HOUSE IS INDEED HAUNTED?!! After that dead mask chick popped out, DONE! Bye, Felicia!
That being said I liked it. A lot better than expected.
Andrew Tully, Thomas Rollins and Freddy Perkins. The three clown bros that decided to open a portal to hell for shits and giggles. This is truly what started it all.
In the second movie Tully managed to leave the hotel so he could bate Mitchell into going to the hotel. So some spirits can leave and interact with people. Patrick's role could be luring people into a kill trap to feed souls to the lake of fire every few years.
You forgot about the clown standing out side the window of the interview at end
Had some creepy moments, but my god what a dumb movie. Can we please stop writing brainless characters.
This was 100% the best one out of them all. I don’t get freaked out over movies anymore but this one got me. ❤
I didn't think that they showed the original HH clown initially. I thought it was just the 2 new 1s when they 1st look in that room. Then later in the movie Rebecca corrected Margot saying there were 3 clowns, not 2 like Margot said. Then we start seeing the OG clown. Ill have to go back and watch it again.
Btw, I also think this is the best since the original. The Margot character got on my nerves almost immediately. Each movie after the original seems to have that 1 super annoying character in it.
HOLY CRAP!!! I didn't know they made a 4th movie. I thought it was supposed to be all wrapped up by the end of the third?
The 4tho one is so good. My 2nd favorite Hell House movie behind the 1st one
Yes! You can go back and forward on which one was better the original or this one. I thought this was the best, it looked the best and was actually pretty scary!
I still don't understand the clowns. - The clowns were not originally at the hotel. Hell House LLC brought them to the hotel in the first movie. The first time the team enters the basement they talk about how cool it would be to put a few of their clowns down there against the wall. Are we to assume that Alex somehow obtained the clown upon his initial arrival at the hotel, used it in his other haunt, and then brought it back to the hotel?
My own theory is that the evil guy who ran the hotel gave the clowns to Alex and his crew. This movie sets up the possibility that these hauntings happen over a person's lifetime so it's possible Alex was a target long before he started the haunted house work.
I’m pretty certain the clowns and chains were already down there, Patrick’s clown included because when the crew went down there they mention that they could use what’s already there as props. The clowns in origins were from the fair behind the hotel, plus having been used by fellow cult leaders in the past.
The Clowns were already down there in the first movie they didn't bring them.
Wwooooooo i was just thinking yesterday how i was missing you 😅, then a new video pops up. Son just dropped of at nursery so i can watch in peaceful quietness 🤫. Though soon enough it will be time to listen to what he wants on RUclips and him asking me to find a new video every 5 mins.
So im enjoying every minute of this. Xx😊
Your channel always helps me accept the coming Monday. I can’t thank you enough.
Does anyone else think that the face of girl in the dungarees looks slightly 'off'(in the family photo at 01.46)?
It's as though there's something mask-like about it. When you see her in the film, she looks normal but there's something about that photo that gives a sense of uncanny valley (to me, at least)...
I have yet to watch this movie. I was so excited about the first Hellhouse movie knowing a horror movie was filmed 15 minutes from where I grew up. I used to work in two locations near the Hellhouse. One across the street and the other down the street next to the store you sometimes see in the movies. Plus the bar and restaurant that were shown in the 3rd movie I know from my hometown and my mom's hometown.
Give me a 5th❣️
Patrick being part of Tully's cult, makes sense why there would be a gate at the Carmichael mannaer.
yay I was hoping you would cover this one. I was surprised to see a 4th installment but I was pleasantly surprised. Margo is such a jerk character tho, shes lucky she has any friends willing to work with her.
I actually feel this character ruined it for me, I was really disappointed in this movie 😞
This movie was so good, and creepy, and creepy, and good. 😄😄 I'm glad you thought it was the best since the original. Totally agree!
I feel like there being a gate at the house makes sense because that's presumably how the now-evil Katherine manifests in and around the manor, much like how the other evil entities at the Abaddon seemed to also be linked to the gate, or more likely, the Hell on the other side of the gate, which is the same Hell connected to ALL gates, and I can only assume through Patrick being influenced by the cult, he willingly opened a gate inside the manor after the hotel burned down because otherwise, his connection to his resurrected sister would be severed.
The movie was really good! Without a doubt the best since the first Hell House LLC
What's wrong with people in horror movies? Like, okay, you don't wanna leave without your brother because he could have had an episode, that's understandable, I wouldn't abandon my own brother either, but who said you have to be inside? You already looked everywhere inside, he's not there, so IF he appears, it'll be from outside, so like, wait outside maybe? Y'know, not in the haunted mansion? That's a legitimate option.
Well in this situation the land surrounding the house was also haunted😬
@@GCballer307 That make it 2x worse, due to the cultists *guarding* exit gate.
@@GCballer307i would took my chances in my car 😂but either way they were toast
May you please do a video on Gothika? With Halle Berry, that film did so well and is so underrated
A decent homage to Hell House LLC. I'm all for the aluded-to 'Fair'. The Cult grows stronger!
I'm glad this movie wasn't bad, but sometimes it's best to let series end. Especially when your serial trivializes the stakes and ending of the previous movie.
“Best since the original” hard agree! Best horror flick I’ve seen in a while.
So we don't see how it all started. We just know dozens of dumb behind kept going into this house even though people were never seen again. I guess the military, law enforcement and whatever passes for the X-Files in this universe was not interested.
It's so trash. This movies hook is so the next one can take place at the carnival where those clown Mannequins came from.
I want the storage capacity these camera have to keep filming 24/7.
Love your content mate, could you go through Raised by Wolves? Great series and a massive cliffhanger. I think you'd like the show and story. 2 seasons, and it needs more exposure to get picked back up. Was an HBO exclusive, but now it can only be bought. Thanks bruv, you're a legend 🤘
#returntokepler
So, the abadon hotel is actually a haunted house walk through attraction, but at 21:10 you see the hearse, that hearse is from the attraction itself!
I was recently thinking of the original movie trilogy, and honestly am surprised to see they’ve made a new movie.
I would hate for them to lose their found footage roots. It leaves the films up for becoming just like all the others, nothing new, nothing different.
what I appreciate about the HHLLC. franchise is the acting THE ACTING THE ACTINGGGGGGGGG. What's kept me coming back to watch are the EXCELENT realistic characters. People say acting doesn't matter in a scary movie just how well they can sell the fear I don't agree all the INBETWEEN moments, the banter, how the characters dress themselves *even something as miniscule of how each WALK play in making them seem flushed out even when they've barely got screen time* all of this matters, that's all necessary to the fear (wherever its coming from) HHLLC. Found a cast able to really make you feel like damn "that's something I woulda thought" or "shit I probably would react the same" and for scary movies I'LL ALWAYS APPLAUD THAT.
I loved this movie. This and the first one, chefs kiss
So just at the start I wonder if this will be “the old evil wasn’t actually taken out” or “a new evil has filled in the vacuum left behind”
Can’t believe how much I loved the first one and even the second. Excited to see this!
Hey foundflx could you do an ending explained on the new Netflix movie Leave The World Behind, that movie is a chaotic reck and I LOVE IT
I didn’t feel an ounce of sadness when Margo died!!! After all those warning she had it coming
Neat, I enjoyed the first one on Shudder. Haven’t been able to track down a Blu-ray though
I love LOVE your channel and have for years. I was wondering if you'd want to do an ending explained on When Evil Lurks? :)
Oh shit! A new Hell house? Definitely watching this when I get home. (The video, not the movie. Don't care about it that much. LOL)
I love this franchise and I am excited to see where it goes for the 5th film. Although the OG trilogy was hit or miss this 4th addition does add some cool lore while also keeping questions unanswered. I don't mind if they take it away from the found footage roots so long as they keep the same vibe in terms of spooky atmosphere.
I loved this one. Easily my 2nd favorite of the franchise
What’s the best one?
The 1st
Hey man, great job! I love clicking on the vid, clicking 'Like,' then watching the like total go up 400+ during my viewing time! Great job, keep it up. I appreciate the quality content.
So a couple things and questions
1. We have seen the clown move before. He walked in the second movie.
2. Maybe I was wrong but I thought in the first movie that the clown was made either by Tony or someone Tony knew? I am currently rewatching the first right now and as of yet haven’t gotten to the part but did it say who he got the main clown from?
3. What ever happened to skull figure from the first movie? It was such a big part in the first movie and hasn’t been seen since the basement and then up in the attic well Alex was hung.
Asking for a friend 😅
Wonder if the skull thing will reappear later.
When the clown walked in the second movie it was in the shadows. This time we get the lovely image of it walking towards the camera. Just peachy
My fav RUclips channel I love horror and how the explanation is better than just watching
Fwiw, Patrick Carmichael was mentioned in the second movie, as an informant who squealed about the cult for a deal with the cops.
Do one of when evil lurks please movie was so good and pretty narly, great movie highly recommend but ending is a bit odd. Could be dealing with the 7 deadly sins but it’s debatable
You should check out The Borderlands, named Final Prayer! Found footage gem that I would love your analysis on.

I’m really digging this series of movies because there aren’t many good ghost movies anymore
Please do Leave the world behind it’s so good
This movie was really good! That clown is terrifying.
The 2nd movie showed the clown walking for a hot second. Down in the basement
Thank you for pointing out this is the fourth. I honestly wasn’t sure if I had seen this one or not.
Please do No One Lives, a little older but so good!
Some of the stupidest characters I’ve ever seen in a horror movie.
Some horror movies we perceive certain characters as stupid because we have more information available to us as the viewer. So we’re judging them from a standpoint of omnipotence.
Thats not the case here. They had the same information and instances available to them as the audience did and made stupid decision after increasingly stupid decision. Ruined the movie for me
I genuinely cried when I found out this film was being made. I absolutely love Hell House & I absolutely LOVE the clowns. Knowing some of the history to the clowns makes me love the series even more. Fingers crossed there's another one in the works due to that ending. Leaves so much space for a whole new evil chapter
