Its probably the best looking sports car ever made. An iconic shape.
So good to see you enjoying your car in the sunshine...you have earnt it
As soon as I heard it I thought it was the fan! Thank god nothing serious so you can carry on enjoying it
One of the best looking Ferrari's a real classic. Good video
i think i would have dropped a pile if i had heard that noise while driving the 308 great blog as usual
You buy a Ferrari and find out you received a lawnmower.
yes, many poos would have come out!
Delighted that noise at the end was an easy fix, you certainly deserve a break! I know it’s been stressful for you, but I’m absolutely loving following your 308 story with you 👍
There's something about the balance in the shape of this thing that's just utter perfection.. the Dino is a very very pretty car, but somehow I think the 308 is more balanced. Would utterly love to own one one day
Glad to hear you're enjoying it! I took mine on a track day once, just to see what it was like and was really surprised with how much better it was than I expected. I've had a couple of Elises and light weights, so know what something decent handles like. Give it a go. Also, I found that vaseline on the seals quietens down the squeaky roof pretty well.
This is the Car that will boost your channel to enable you to by a new Ferrari !! This car got a Soul !
After this one he may never want another Ferrari😆🇬🇧
Another great video chief!
I find your knowledge and enthusiasm inspirational! Please don’t ever get rid of the car, keep the vids coming! Keep enjoying it, it’s just great 👍
Haha, love the fact that you raise your voice higher a full octave when you drive the car, because it is so loud, I guess. Also great how you manage to do all those outside/exterior shots while driving, well done. Like the sound as well & those door pockets. Looks like great fun!
You never replace an old fuel pump 'for nothing'. It's piece of mind work.
Love your resilience and sense of humour, keep up the great work!
Love your Ferrari videos! Living vicariously through you and your experiences with the 308.
Really enjoying these 308 vids. Hope to see more soon. Take care
I am so glad that I found you channel - you quickly became one of my favourite youtubers - so relateable, not cocky and interested in finding pure driving pleasure. You addressed a lot of topics that my friends and me are discussing all the time: Modern steering is unresponsive (we all drive F3x or F2x w/ M Sport package and further modified suspensions - we tried modern Audis and Mercedes but they were even far worse than the BMW steering and driving feel), that older cars had more feedback and a more honest feel of driving (we ALL had e46s a few years ago) :) keep up the good work on the channel!
"Pretty car"
Glad your enjoying it Jack.
Been loving watching you tinker on this during the lockdown, keep it up!
Would have been funny if the song on the radio was Kenny Rogers' 'The Gambler': '... know when to walk away, know when to run...' :)
Loving this series. Great content. Keep up the good work!
Enjoyed that. All said and done, it's an old car and things go wrong and nothing lasts forever. Those numerous problems, both minor and not so minor, are a good way of getting to really know a car and making it live on and a nicer place to be. A constant learning curve which never stops in my experience. Over decades of both new and old cars, I get much pleasure, more than taking delivery of any new car, fixing up a used one which a previous owner with little under the bonnet "nouse" has given up on. Turn that key and hear my work burst into life.. I'll never tire of that experience. Keep up the good work.
Got to love the 308 i did for over 35 years.
Love your videos of this fine classic, nice to see someone with true passion even when things are going wrong.
You’ve the patience of a saint! Great project / car and love your passion for it 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
A broken Ferrari is still much cooler than a working BMW. Loving the videos
Not so good for getting you to work though eh?
A piece of art or museum for some.
@@noseyparker6622 You drive to work or the store in a shitbox vehicle. That way you don't care if some dumb lady lets her shopping cart roll into your car.
As long as you've got at least two other cars and one of them works!
Glad you're enjoying it, Jacko. Another great video with brilliant tension!
Thanks buddy!! Next video will show another major task.. but I hope after that I get to do some more fun stuff like sorting out the exhaust!
Good man Jack. I had to wait till the end, but then, boom PJ's. Top work.
Hahaha. Love watching these updates dude. Keep them coming!
Love the country road shots. The 308 is art in motion.
Love that car, love italian's cars, i'm owner for more than 25 year, and every day my feeling about those cars is bigger!!!! Congrats!!!
Roller-coaster ride of joy and anguish.!! I've Been watching the 'influenzo' from the start of your ownership.. Crazy car with personality. 👍
Another great video thanks Jack and when you said (near the start..) 'the 308 is the most reliable car I've got' I laughed out loud 🤣🤣
I'm glad your enjoying the car, you have certainly earned it! Looking forward to future updates on the 308 and 205
Your comments about the gearchange are spot on!
Great videos. Really like the honest and open presentation style. Good work. Keep ‘em coming
Thanks Gary!!
Congratulations. Not only is this series of videos highly enjoyable, emotionally involving (with a great balance of enthusiastic and painful moments) and the thing I'm looking forward to every week. It also is so instructive and inspirational that I now consider getting into DIYing on my own older car. Just need to learn a bit more about (car)mechanics first.... Thank you, keep things going!
PS: My personal favourite was always the 328 GTS. One day...
Another brilliant episode, can't wait for next instalment. These are watched multiple times in our house!
Great to hear!! Thanks buddy
Love the Influenzo, the stash got it to run on all 8 cylinders again, it should all go well from now. I like the intro as well, brings back all kinds of nostalgic memories lol.
I love it when your classic car gives you a scare and you then find out its something quite minor! I always think the worst as well, I think we all do. Going to tinker today with my MX5 MK-1 turbo today , plan to put on my quick release steering wheel. Love your videos keep up the great content.
Thank you Lee and there is nothing like the relief of find out the problem is minor!!
Really love the 308 Influenzo series! Hope you continue on with it. The journey with it" good or bad" are what makes it interesting. Great channel! Cheers from America. :)
Thanks Patrick! Enjoy the US. Loved my visits there
Great video, love your channel, so glad I found it. I used to own an MX5 with the folding hardtop which used to squeak on the front location sockets, tried vaseline and hey presto. A friend of mine bought a new 1.6 205 GTI in the mid 80's and I was quite impressed. At the time I had an escort company car and a 1970 Elan +2S130 as my fun car which was fantastic. Keep the video's coming, Cheers
Keep them coming Jack, great content. Love the wheels on the 308 btw. As a Porsche driver considering getting a classic Alfa (1970 Junior) as a second car, your channel hits the sweet spot ;)
Replace your tin bullet fuses with good copper/ceramic ones. I get mine through a vintage MB site. The ones you have oxidize and lose good electrical connection. The copper ones do not do the same thing. It really makes a big difference in these cars.
Wow, what a great tip. Thanks!!
Great video, I admire your calm and happy demeanour. Keep going. S
Great vids, best on this car and so entertaining thank you! I’ve got a 328, your description of how perfect it is on sweeping curves, in the right gear (when everything lightens up) nails it, what a joy!
Thank you Steve!! So glad to hear that your enjoying this!!
Love to watch your trials and triumphs in this beautiful little car. I agree an Esprit and 308 would make a fantastic classic garage pairing.
Love this era of design basically nothing you can't do at home if you're handy with a spanner.
Very good video, thank you. Really enjoy watching your Ferrari journey.
Thank you for the message. Makes a real difference to know the videos are being enjoyed!
Look forward to your posts every week. Your always positive and enthusiasm shines through although the car fights you all the way I think your right about the pjs being 🍀 hopefully you can get out and about and have some journeys to record stay safe and keep the posts coming
Thanks Jason, enjoy the weekend chap!
You’re an inspiration for patience! Thank you.
Cracking video Jack, I'm so pleased you've started uploading regular videos again on RUclips. Its great having number 27 back in the groove 😎 👌 👍
Great to still have you on board after all this time Ryan! Thank you!
@@Number27 well you're channel is excellent Jack 👏 I really do enjoy watching all the content you upload so thank you for the entertainment bud 😉 👍
Oh my god!! This car is a hoot!! I really likes to let you know that at any time, "something" might happen.....!! But eventually, everything will be done and you will be able to take it out and drive it with confidence that nothing is going to go wrong.
Great video, I enjoyed it a lot!!
At last a car enthusiast not a journalist.... Love the videos and will be checking out your back catalogue...
Great! Thanks for the info words!
This time i had to leave a comment. Your influenco series reminds me so much of my time with my 71 Porsche 911....i laughed so much while watching your storyboard....please go on.
Your channel is better than watching Gran Tour, lol. Btw i named my Porsche "Diva" but i still own it since 2001....time to change to a 997 (grin).
Your enjoyment of the car is quite infectious. And a pleasure to watch. Many years ago I had the pleasure of owning a 308...very early fuel injected 308 GTSi. To this day I regret selling it. I didn't appreciate it as the keeper it is. Wonderful to drive...as you point out the shifting of the gears is like slow dancing with beautiful woman...and the build quality was amazingly better than I had expected. I will continue to enjoy your experience with your 308 and remember my own.
Great to hear John, thanks for watching!
Haha! great update vid Jack. The 308 really is the gift that keeps on giving isn't it? :D Also, my voice goes 2 octaves higher whenever I drive my old jalopy too! lol
Can just imagine you walking around the supermarket with those PJ’s on. Great to see that you on top of any issues with the car. I always find myself looking forward to your next video, even if it isn’t Porsche related.
Thanks Robert.. I have been to the Suparket in my PJs before!
Love the car... I’m not mechanically minded but learning lots on how to fault find....
yes, if you like finding faults, get a 308!
Ha... great ending Jack, my heart sank... but all OK in the end. Nice driving lanes too, I must have miss that you'd moved out of London, now Oxford way. I think you & that 308 are a great match :-)
Great film again! Glad it was nothing serious at the end. You can tell you love the car and fair play to you. I know that feeling well. Happy days!
Thanks Mike!! Enjoying the rest of the weekend!
Great review.
I'm a enjoying your journey with this old dog buddy. Keep up the videos and your spirit
excellent review with great honesty
Thank you!!
Loved this vid mate. It's really great that you love this car so much. Always something to keep you on your toes though eh?! 😀👍
Indeed.. always something!!
Hey dude...that's the original fuseblock, not mine. The previous owner BOUGHT the replacements...and never put them in!! LOL!!!!
Go to my website and look at what mine look like. Did they not come with the car??? You really need to lose those original fuseblocks...they WILL leave you stranded.
Wow, yes a shocking noise, but easy to fix. Lol, great vid Jack. But you know I would have been hugely surprised if something was terribly wrong, your 308 is sounding very sweet and you’re starting to get right into it 😎👍👍
Greetings from Texas. As a connoisseur if high mileage old toys, I have always wanted to buy one of these 308s to tinker with. Thanks for letting me live vicariously though you. Your videos are really well done!
Thank you Eric and my best to Texas!! Must visit one day!!
This feels like a love affair that could go wrong at any moment loving the highs getting ready for the lows
Another fantastic video thank you for sharing
As a viewer/older car owner, I feel your “pain”. My turbocharged S2000 always seems to need something to run perfectly, but when it does, oh the fun. My Porsche 911/997 Carrera S is much more reliable, but since I don’t drive it everyday, she can be cranky and needy, at times. Then add in a couple 10-20 year old sport bikes, there is always some kind of mechanical tweaks that need to be done to something. I am not complaining, trust me, I’m living the dream, but owning and working on my dream vehicles makes me love and appreciate my heroes in a different way.
Congrats on all the progress you’ve made so far. Loving this channel.
Love the videos and the 308. Recent owner of an Alfa Romeo Spider. Italian styling is the biggest anti depressant... Such beauty and joy from just looking at it let alone driving it. Love the fact that DIY learning and fixing adds so much to the ownership. Brilliant.
Love Spiders.. my 105 series was basically same chassis!
If my own experience is anything to go by, 50% of the love you’re feeling for the 308, is a result of your victory over all it’s issues - like a reverse labour of love, where the love is as a result of all the labour.
Wonderful videos and an absolutely gorgeous car - “doyen of exotic car shapes” was how Car magazine put it, back in 1985, and they’re still right 35 years later!
Yes, a lot of the love is due to fixing stuff on it!!
Number 27 I have a Cerbera, and have experienced the same pains and pleasures and ultimately euphoria that you show with the Influenzo. I also have a lot of experience with 911’s, but the Cerbera is just on another level of both pain and ultimately satisfaction/happiness.
Fantastic series on this 308. I love your down to earth every man approach. Subscribed from Michigan Usa. I'd love to see you do this to more "affordable" exotics. Very well done. I enjoyed it very much.
Thanks Matt!! Appreciate you subbing and hello to the USA 🇺🇸!!
It’s good to see someone getting their hands dirty, I enjoy watching content like this so much more because you get to see the owner and the car coming together.
In a good way I hope the 308 carries on giving you/and us good content
Thanks Jason.. fixing it definitely brings me closer to it!!
Good to see the Ferrari running good. The old stuff loves keeping you on your toes. Its scary as hell at times but exciting at the same time also. Weird feeling.
great to see you enjoying being fully committed in getting the influenzo running properly, also that you’ve ditched your jammies! the ferrari v8 runs a flat crank thus works like a pair of in-line 4 cylinder engines in tandem, thus it’ll never sound like a burbly american v8!
I have a 944 Porsche and want a 308 to go with it! Half the dream is done! Thanks for posting these so when I pick up mine I can watch your videos to fix mine!
I really enjoy your videos, you’re very likable, and very positive. I recently acquired my dream car too, and I see the same look in your eyes.
Thanks!! What is the dream car you have acquired?
It doesn’t have the history, or nostalgia of a 308, but I’m rocking a Tesla Model 3. I waited in line, and put down a deposit without even seeing the car. Then I purchased it with no test drive. Been two years, no regrets.
When it Gets on The Boil bit made Me Smile.
In 1982 I was sat in my 308 when a taxi driver came up to me. He stated that the week before he had driven Tom Selleck from Heathrow and Selleck would probably be jealous of me. I asked him why and apparently Selleck had tried to buy a 308 in Hawaii but no one would insure him because he was such a celebrity !
Love this channel, well worth the wait for content. Big fan of the 308 despite being a porshy!
Love these videos, really well done. Your roof squeaks sound like my TVR Tuscan, which has a similar roof system. Try Leading Edge Tape on the roof where the seal sits - got rid of all my squeaks. The tape is the stuff they out on the front edge of helicopter rotors, so is tough, smooth and clear. On Amazon. Good luck
Thanks.. just ordered some!
Well done for getting it sorted, you must think every time you get in it what's going to go wrong. Drive it as much as you can while the weathers good.
Never a dull day with these classic Ferrari's!
Jack you should be a soap opera writer. Every time there is a cliffhanger... another very compelling video. 👍🏎
I know.. it’s all down to the car though! Videos will be boring as soon as it stops breaking!!
interesting video, this model has always been on my list of cars to drive and possibly own, also the Esprit turbo and Testarossa . Always loved the headrests which are actually shoulder rests !, good luck with it
I love the 308 and am loving the 'series'. So glad I found your channel. Keep up the entertainment, if I may use that word. Top Gear next for you.
Very kind, thanks Mr C!
I loved the look of this thing when it was out. I wanted a black one, for some reason. However, it joined the list of cars i never got. Ive owned about 50 cars, which is probably about 30 too many but they were great fun.
Anyway, enjoying your vids. Getting vicarious pleasure from your brave choices. Well done!
Keep on keeping on. I’m loving it , it’s called a connection your wise enough now to never let her go ;)
Great video, love the "308 is the most reliable car I own" comment 🤣🤣 Glad, as I am sure you are, that the noise was nothing catastrophic.
Agreed, a lovely, iconic shape. Have just bought a lovely Mondial, similar, with 4 seats. I love it ! ±
Love this site mate. keep up the good work.
maybe a road trip video to Modena after the Lockdown ? I was in Modena for Ferrari 70 Anniversary party 2017 - what a weekend.
Am planning a trip to Modena!
I am sorry for your trouble, but it makes me laugh, brings back so many memories of playing around with earths, carbs and cooling for my cars in the 80s, I know the feeling of the highs and lows in the matter of moments.
not sure how to feel....what a relationship....as long as the joy keeps outweighing the fear/panic/frustration...
Lovely car and great channel. This is my favourite Ferrari. Sometimes the most horrendous noise is just a loose nut or bolt bouncing up and down the engine bay.
Good for you Champ, perseverance paid off. And the dead cat mic matches your moustache - such attention to detail.
I know. Everything is calculated.. perfection on this channel. Look forward to seeing some stuff from you. I think you’ll make a great presenter!
This is an emotional rollercoaster of a car. So entertaining!
Brilliant thanks, and great ending. I think I would have had a trouser mishap too if I heard that noise... As soon as you switched the ignition on and heard the noise again I thought fan as well... Good luck with it... Never a dull moment with a 308
Thanks buddy!!
Watching you I remember Thomas Magnum with that tash, This issue with those type fuses happened to most cars of that era I remember with my E21 BMW 323i , time to time would not start the fuel pump relay would stop working and changed the fuel pump aswell. Lovely Car 308 .
Thanks Nisar! Have a great weekend buddy!
Spell check changed your name to something not so nice! Just edited it
Great vid!
