    I’ve been searching to find a way to possibly make my own transfers instead of paying my life savings on them and now I’ve found the one exactly what I was looking for . Thank you so much sweet lady. I’m a new subscriber now ! 😊

      Rita, I know what you mean! Though I sell transfers in the shop there are times I have a specific look or image I`m after and was delighted to find I could make my own! I did a later video (where the camera actually stays attached to the stand!!) where I used them on a rocking chair. They are still holding firm and aren`t lifting at all!

      @@QueenBeeCreations Thank you🤗 I actually appreciate the fact that you answer comments. Many do not. I tend to stay away from those, generally. Well you are the first video I found demonstrating what "waterslide" transfers are and you were very helpful. I came to RUclips trying to figure out how to create my own transfers since I can't find a black and white motif that suits the barn door I'd like to add a personal touch to. I'm glad you mentioned the slipperiness, maybe I'd have to take the door down (Oh Lord it is big and heavy!) to do so, but you have really helped me see there are options. Someone below calls this a "super-old" video. I found that amusing--3 yrs is "super old?" I guess it must be from the perspective of how quickly some crafting options evolve, but your info is very timely for me--today!🙂

    • @QueenBeeCreations
      @QueenBeeCreations  11 месяцев назад

      If the video at three years is super old then sheesh… I hate to think how I’m described! I have another video on the channel using the Waterslide papers on a rocking chair also if that helps additionally…. I think it would work fine to leave the door as-is and apply them to it upright… just mist the door lightly where you are applying the transfer so you can smooth it out easily…. I got a little better with the chair… and they are still fully adhered to the surface still.

    I know that this video is super old, but there are apps that you can get now that allow you to completely erase a background and either leave it white or add your own background. So, those would be amazing to use for images that you want to use, but don't want a background on...(I can print from my phone from my door cheap inkjet printer that I got on Amazon about three months ago) You did a beautiful job and you're perfect at teaching how to do things❤❤❤ I found your channel a few weeks ago and just can't get enough of your creations!

I've actually got a set of tiny water slide Transfers that are made for using on polymer clay and the plastic layer is very thin so all you see is the picture on the front. I didn't know that you could buy A4 size sheets of this kind of paper, can you tell us what it's called and where we can find it?? I know exactly what you mean about the IOD Transfers being very expensive. I just bought a set of 4 for $60 and the sets of 8 Transfers are $85 here in Australia. It would be great to make my own. I love water slide decals! I have a white KitchenAid Mixer that I printed out the blue onion dish pattern and applied it. There were some curves to deal with but it was pretty easy. I did apply standing up not to hard. Didn't seal it once on just have to be careful not to rub to hard when cleaning the ink will come off. Good thing can just print another decal and reapply. 😁❤️

    I do also similar projects on image transfer to wood, using shiny side of dhesive label paper. The image is printed on a reverse position on ink jet printer. The image is ink wet, sitting on the eurface of the paper, which is then placed carefully ontop of my clean smooth flat wood. The surface of the paper is then carefully pressed/rub down from inside-outside to the wood. I'm learning a lot of different mages transfer to wood from You Tube, like this one, queen. What I would like to know how to do is a transfer like the expense ones that you scrap on. It must look much more like paint and less like a flat sticker.

    • @QueenBeeCreations
      @QueenBeeCreations  4 месяца назад

      There are transfers out there that are just the black outlined images that you can then paint over, but you can do the same with any transfer. Just as you've painted below them, you can also paint over them to add dimension. However, you can also stamp on your furniture pieces, using that as your guide to then paint it in, creating a hand-painted one of a kind look.

    • @QueenBeeCreations

      Just as with transfers, there is always that faint little 'halo'... the border around the actual picture. IOD transfers have one of the smallest halos of the premanufactured transfers. Your 'halo' with these will be determined by how close you cut the paper back to you image... so you do have control. That said though, depending upon your treatment of the decal after it's applied, you can't really see it at all.

Since then, even with edited videos, I leave it all in. If I mess up I leave it and show how I'll fix it. Nobody's perfect and there are too many out there that use editing to create perfection - which I think builds a barrier preventing people from 'trying'. I want everything I do to be approachable. If I can, you can. If you want to try something, go ahead and do it... the worst thing that can happen is that you mess up. Really... not so bad!

If you're doing a bureau you could take out the drawers and do it pretty easily, but if your piece is big and heavy and you're doing it all by yourself, flipping a huge piece of furniture wouldn't be easy. But you could use stencils. One question: How did you get the stripes on your board? Am subscribed! Thank you!

    Just saw some people printing them on regular paper and putting packaging tape on top, then submerging in water. They also rolled up, but after they rolled up they pulled them out and peeled the paper off the back and the image was imprinted on the tape and it just stuck right to the project; glass, wood, material, etc. May be something you may want to look into.

    • @QueenBeeCreations

    I tried this. Did not work. Turn into a mad ball. Not good

    • @QueenBeeCreations
      @QueenBeeCreations  Месяц назад

      It's really important to keep the backing paper on until you're at the surface you want to apply it to and then slide it offwith a flat hand... trying to maintain it's shape. If you have lightly misted the surface you're applying it to with water, it will help you to 'move' the transfer and eliminate wrinkles. I did another video using this technique - on a rocking chair this time. I got better at it... it might give you a few more points. ruclips.net/video/7l62BDUgRK0/видео.html

      Cindy... what's a packing tape transfer? I haven't heard of that but so need to now! I sealed over the transfer with a matte finish so that's the final look it will have... it will depend upon what you finish it with.

    • @QueenBeeCreations
      @QueenBeeCreations  3 года назад +3

      Okay... googled it! You're lovely for mentioning this! Somewhat similar to transferring the image to boards, etc.... but you use decoupage medium to 'stick' your image to your surface, let it dry, then wet the paper and rub to remove... it leaves all the ink behind. That would give you a completely matte finish since none of the tape or waterslide film is left behind. Video for what I'm talking about... ruclips.net/video/8FYK2JBSKLA/видео.html You just have to remember that, unlike the packing tape, your image is reversed (important if it's words!!!)

    But I do keep wondering if we can make transfers just like IOD. Maybe paint on parchment and bake it on a few minutes? We got a new laser printer but just black and white after our inkjet made a giant mess. I thought to just print outline type pics then color myself. Which I thought I could water color or use paint pens. But then again I could just trace the simple image than doing all this. I did take art classes all through school and in adult ed. The thing with IOD etc. is everyone has the same design.I havent even bought stamps or stencils yet because of that. I may get a set of IOD alpha stamps but thats it.

    • @QueenBeeCreations
      @QueenBeeCreations  2 года назад

      I like using the IOD products but I tend to use pieces from different sets together, rather than one full package - though there have been exceptions to this! What paint you use, the colour used, the layout all varies so most products get personalized. That said though, there are times that I want something specific for a piece that's not available through IOD - and I think the waterslide paper, decoupaging (reverse graphic decoupaging), etc. all give you additional options to create something completely unique.

    • @QueenBeeCreations
      @QueenBeeCreations  3 года назад +1

      Hi there! Are you referring to the backing on the waterslide paper? If so... once you soak the sealed, printed waterslide paper in water... the clear, thin plastic film separates from the white paper backing. Move the entire thing over to your piece , lay it roughly where you want it and slide the backing out from under the plastic film, leaving it in place. (while wet you will find you can move it around slightly to get it exactly where you want it!).

    yes, there are pretty but way way too expensive. I can not imagine people paying 60 dollars for a transfer, add to the labor, product, furniture price and then trying to sell it a high price...the price of transfer eat a lot of the profit...

    • @QueenBeeCreations
      @QueenBeeCreations  Год назад

      I fully admit that I do use the transfers (heck... I sell them in my shop!) and am usually using one transfer on multiple pieces so they go further... but it is definitely an expense that comes out of the cost to produce/finish a piece. Depending upon your market and what you can reasonably expect to sell your finished pieces for... it can have an impact on your profitability. I have done furniture pieces using the water slide paper decals (there is a video on the channel of a rocking chair I did) that are still good - the decals have worn well and not detached, so you can use these successfully on larger projects. I like that they allow you to personalize your designs. Unlike the transfers, no one else is going to have the same design elements on their pieces.

      @@QueenBeeCreations i watched the video u are talking about the chair with the pretty flowers...very beautiful end result. I do not get it why those transfers are sold so high..there are done in China, probably cost them less than a dollar, so after taxes, shipping my gues will be that the end cost is about no more than 10 dollars...so the mark down is too high...if they sell it at 30 dollars for the big ones they will make 200 percent profit... greed is the root of evil...i found the paper, the company that do the transfers, but i do not have the money to invest in paying for the transfers since they have a cap in how many u need to order.... well i think i will try your method..and see how that goes.
