The problem with transfers is both the permanence of ink, because moisture can damage and remove it and fading with natural UV light. I have exhibited images that show no sign of this after hanging on a wall for a considerable period of time. My method is to use two available art products that can be applied by spraying from the aerosol. Firstly a fixative, then when this has dried, a spray print varnish.
Like the others below, I am blown away by how easy this is! (And such a simple idea - how did I not see that before??) Thank you, Nitsa for helping me transfer a black and red plaid pattern onto (flat) plain wooden Christmas snowflake ornaments - they look GREAT!
Thank you so much for this video. I have been looking for a laser printer but now am thinking I can use my ink jet and get the results I want without the expense. I will get the book on payday.
It looked like the wax paper method produced more vivid, bright colors. The transfer looked more like the original photo, so that was my personal favorite. 🙂
Thank you so much for a wonderful idea. I have made a journal for my daughter using photographs, whatsapp images and holiday snaps as an upcoming birthday present. The image transfers have come out really quite well; the more colourful ones better than the darker images. Thank you again, such a simple and easy method, with a unique result. Thank you !
I’ve been using freezer paper which works pretty good. I want to try a clear stock so it will be easier to align. Thanks for the tips. And your always smiling and seem happy. That’s great!
I am going to try the wax paper, sheet protectors or label pages which I have so many left over. These are wonderful tutorials. I am so grateful. Gonna transfer a picture and quote to precut puzzle chip board. Wanted to give a clever gift to those I work with. Thank you for sharing!!!!❤
I just found your site. And plan on trying some or all the methods you demonstrated, seeing I never thought of doing something like this. It was by Photo paper. Your way is less expensive and ads the artistic that some photos are missing. Thank you.
Oh my goodness I'll try the plastic sheet protector transfer method. I've been struggling with the mat medium and paper method. Will let you know thank you Nitsa!
❤ love watching you Nitsa. Really enjoy how you present your innovative techniques. You always leave me smiling. The first one looks like it has the best color and finer detail than the other 2. I have done the transfer sheet and it worked ok but very “grainy” I never used the spray on top so hopefully I’ll get better results. I want to try these on the gel plate- hoping to get a clear print- even though most RUclipsers say only laser prints work. Thanks for all your great videos and smiles! See you 🔜!
Today I tried the plastic (paper cover) printing and it wasn't great! Perhaps because the plastic was rather old... and when I reached for a burnisher, it moved slightly... aaah! Well, better next time - just glad to have learned about this method! Thank you.
Just found this , as I am getting ready to start building my Grimoire. These tips will come in so very handy to transfer my digital pages to the blank pages of the BoS I purchased a few years back from Etsy. I'll run a few test pages first obviously
Nitsa, this is life changing! My country doesn’t sell wax paper, only baking paper, so I’ve never been able to try these transfer techniques. But label paper & clear sheet protectors are easy to find. Thank you so much for sharing with us. I can’t wait to play around with your techniques. Happy New Year to you. 🥰🥰🥰
I have so many of my photos and have been looking for a way to do something different with them, these are great idea and will try it to day. More ink jet transfers, please, and thank your.
Oh yea I would have never thought of that. I am writing a book about my family. That method will really make my book special on how I put it together. Thanks for shareing
I'm so glad I found your channel! I was about to go out and buy transfer supplies and now I don't. thank you!! I can't wait to watch more of your videos!!
Wow such great ideas. Like the first one as it is really inexpensive and works. The second one gets more expensive and I think it basically duplicates even more expensive transfer papers. So you save money with that one. The last one is indeed quick but I'm concerned about the possibility of ink getting inside the printer especially the paper tray. Have you experienced any spread of ink inside the printer or on the tray? Thanks for all of your hard work producing this video. Really appreciated.
Seeing this in January 2022 but want to tell you thank you! Great methods and will test all 3. 1st and 3rd methods are definitely the easiest and fastest. Less steps. And you have a new subscriber. Happy new year if you see this comment.
Hello Nitsa! I LOVE transferring photos, or what have you, into my journals. But I only have a inkjet printer, which looks like the same one your using. I SO appreciate all three ideas, and no expensive products needed! I guess the last one looked the most interesting to me! Thank you for these invaluable tips and I just subscribed!
My husband's laser printer hasn't worked for any of the gel transfer techniques so I was hoping these inkjet ones would work. What type of ink does yours have? Is it pigment or dye? Mine is dye and doesn't seem to be working very well at all. The only technique I've found that works is by using Mod Podge and that's messy and doesn't always work well either. Though I'm very glad to have more ideas to try!
@@NitsaCreativeStudio It's really important to be sure what type of ink your printer has. In my experience ONLY PIGMENT ink works for image transfer. DYE BASED ink is water soluble and will run. Low end Epson printers used to use Durabrite pigment ink, but their newer ones unfortunately use Clara dye based ink which is really disappointing. I have an old Epson C88+ which used pigment ink, but had to stop using it because it wasn't compatible with Windows 10.
Hi Nitsa, thank you so much for all the fantastic knowledge you share. Came across you a few days ago. Have been binge-watching your videos & learned soooo much! Awesome to see how your channel has grown btw :) And loving those bloopers, very funny ;)
Definitely going to try, I'd love to be able to get a better Inkjet Printer transfer to my surfaces than what I'm getting now! Thank you for the cool ideas!
I’m excited about this method. I have just bought a ink jet printer and still don’t know how to use it, so I will keep these ideas fresh so when I’m confident enough, I will give it a try. Thanks for your very interesting videos.
Is the wax paper the same one with the baking paper ? Also, love you Nitsa! Your optimism and positivity shines bright through all of your pores! Love your personality! And thank you for all these amazing tips and techniques! ❤🙏❤
Thank you so much because i recently started leather crafting but, when it came to transfering an image to leather by ballpoint tip. It was quite difficult to differentiate between areas of high and low tone in the image before carving, and with your help i can now get all the detail i need to produce a more intricate image. Thank you again very much and keep up your good work.
I liked the last one the most i have been trying to find away to transfer photos to wood and canvas and didnt think about using sheet protect or address label and the whole time i am sitting on both of those thanks i think i just found the way to do what i have been wanting to do.
Hi! I'm Denise from northeastern North Carolina. I enjoyed watching your video showing how to transfer using an ink jet. I don't own a Lazer printer. I'm going to give it a go, and I'll let you know how it turns out! PS: I love your accent. 🎄🎅
I tried the 3rd technique using a sheet protector but it got jammed in my printer. I then tried sticking the sheet protector to a piece of copy paper across the ends but it still jammed. I used the heavier duty page protectors, they're a bit firmer so I thought it would work. Never mind, thanks for sharing anyway.
